Alex Drake

Alexander Michael Drake is the founder and CEO of Angelus Corporation, a holder of the largest number of Ph.D in recorded human history and one of Galaxy's and Alliance's most renowned scientific minds. Regarded as a pro-Human supporter, Alex Drake's inventions, influence and work have irreversibly changed the face of Humanity in the galactic community, expediting and strengthening Humanity's power.

Born in 2149 on an exploratory cruiser, he spent his childhood years on Shanxi until 2157, when he witnessed and survived the horrors of First Contact War, which had crippled his younger sister. Being a product of the highly criticized and controversial genetic experiment known as Gilgamesh Initiative, Alex Drake was classified as an augmented human, which explains his rapid physical and intellectual growth.

Finishing his primary education and earning a Ph.D in genetics in 2159, Alex Drake would work in the Alliance's science division, making crucial discoveries in the interaction of Eezo with human cells, neural tissue regeneration and several other fields. In 2160, due to conflicts with the Alliance's leadership, left the Arcturus Station for Earth, where he spent following 2 years as a professor in Oxford, before leaving in 2162 for Terra Nova, officially announcing himself as CEO of then Angelus Industries.

A genius in every field of science, Alex Drake is widely regarded as the smartest man alive, with the meteoric rise of Angelus Industries into a business superpower attributed solely to him. Regarded as a visionary and an idealist, Alex Drake believes in Humanity's potential, yet is known for his reluctance to cooperate with other species. Critics and detractors within the Alliance and other companies label Drake as a xenophobe, yet it doesn't stop the public from actively supporting and viewing Alex Drake from positive view, offering him wide-spread support on every Human world. In contrast to wide-spread rumors, however, he is known to employ aliens in his company, and he personally enforces an policy of equal treatment for all.

In private, Alex Drake is known as a man with wide range and variety of interests, from sightseeing, diving, skiing to opera, museums and more. His most favorite hobby is a tabletop series of games known as Warhammer, created by company of Games Workshop, being an avid and very powerful player, predominantly using Blood Angels in both 40K and Horus Heresy games, which had been in decline since 2120s. Recently, however, Wahammer franchise has seen a massive resurgence in popularity, sells and expansion of franchise, now including new models, books and even video games, rumored due to Games Workshop having being bought by Alex Drake in 2162. Currently is three times Terra Nova Crucible Tournament and four times Terra Invictus Tournaments champion in Warhammer 40k games.

Angelus Corporation

Founded in 2159 as Angelus Industries by Alex Drake, Angelus Corporation started out as a small design and development company, specializing in industrial and colonial machines and electronics. In 2162, Angelus Industries begins to rapidly expand and grow, having relocated it's main office to Terra Nova, where it had established it's first production industries. By 2163, Angelus Industries expanded into every major colony in Human Space, including Sol System, becoming one of the leading developers and manufacturers of electronics, robotics, industries and etc. In the same year, with the help of their investors, Angelus Industries acquired Saturnine Docks and began a massive refit, modernization and expansion project of the Docks.

Originally, strictly a civilian company, Angelus Corporation operated within the colonies, developing new methods and technologies for easier colonization and settlement of the Attican Traverse. Made famous for not only it's advance technologies, but also by their employees/client favorable policies, Angelus Corporation, or AngelCorp, has earned itself a good reputation as a reliable, caring and reliable company. Known to offer financial and social support to their workers, the AngelCorp is often labeled as: "the company that invests not in products, but in people." Surprising for the massive corporation, it operates strictly within Human space only, avoiding contracts and contacts with other galactic powers.

By the beginning of 2164, Angelus Industries became the primary supplier of colonial, construction, industrial and other materials, machines and more in the Alliance. In the same year, they signed their first military contract with the Alliance, followed by others, serving to further catapult company's revenues and positions on the market. In 2165, Angelus Industries was rebranded into Angelus Corporation, with the official creation of sub-divisions within the company, specializing in the varies spheres.

Operating factories, shipyards, dry docks, offices, research facilities and other installations, Angelus Corporation's headquarters as of 2166 are located in Angelus Spire of Skyfall Station. Though it is only a military contractor, AngelCorp does operate a private military force, known as Angelus Security, operating as strictly security force for AngelCorp's installations and personnel. Additionally, it also owns and operates a civilian company exploration company known as Mars Exploratory, specializing in surveying uncharted space and discovery of star systems. Currently it is owned and operated by Alex Drake.

Skyfall Station

Originally created as a mining station rich in minerals in 2162, Skyfall Station would later that year be moved to a geosynchronous orbit of Terra Nova. In 2163, it would be expanded into an orbital habitat and spaceport with the rapid growth and development of Terra Nova and Angelus Industries. Beginning with 2164, Skyfall Station would be made priority of Angelus Industries efforts for colonization and settlement, utilizing planetoids' own resources for it. By 2166, Skyfall Station would be transformed from a former mining station into a rapidly growing bustling habitat, constantly developing and expanding.

Currently, Skyfall Station is a vital spaceport and key location for Alliance and Humanity as a whole, serving as a transit hub, supply port and dockyard for civilian vessels and Alliance's 4th Fleet, as well as Alliance's Sector HQ. Possessing all of the features and ameninities of modern developed cities, Skyfall Station is one of the most immigrated in locations in Alliance Space. Despite it's rapid development and growth, Station's expanded space is almost immediately sold and settled.

Owned and operated by the Angelus Corporation, Skyfall Station also hosts offices and facilities from nearly every other company. It boasts third largest port and forth largest shipyard facilities within the Alliance and Human space. Designed into a sectioned habitat, it is operated and ran from Angelus Spire, a massive administrative complex and Angelus Corporation's HQ. Thanks to the design of the habitat, sections of the Station can be easily isolated in case of an emergency with the command from the Angelus Spire.

Skyfall Security Forces, sub-division of Angelus Security, provides internal security for the station, with the support of the extremely advance novel security net known as Noosphere. For external defenses, Skyfall Station boasts five massive kinetic barriers, 32 disruptor missile launchers, 72 Perseus Accelerator turrets, 20 Heracles Macro-Accelerator turrets, supplemented by kilometers of planetoid's hard terrain, acting as natural armor.

England-class Carrier

Developed as a conversion of then new Geneva-class and introduced into the Alliance Navy in 2162, England-class Carrier represents Alliance's experiment in testing the viability of fielding and operating a dedicated carrier in their Navy. Despite some support within the Admiralty, the idea of utilizing carriers was ultimately never developed beyond theories after 2157's First Contact War and information about GUARDIAN Laser systems. It wouldn't be until 2161 with the new Naval Expansion Plan that Admiral Ujiyasu Hojo would manage to broker a limited production of a dedicated carrier.

The England-class was developed as a conversion of Geneva-class, hence it shares the profile and internal systems with the new mainstay Alliance cruiser, trading most of its weapon's systems and armor for a hangar to operate a fighter and bomber squadrons. Armed with only Alliance's own version GUARDIAN laser systems, England-class possesses little in form of offence and defense, and therefore must operate from behind the lines. Due to lack of armaments, weaker armor and lower drive power when compared to Geneva-class, England-class was regarded as a failure by more traditional members of the Alliance's Strategic Command.

Introduced into the 2162 as part of the newly formed 4th Fleet, first 8 England-class Carriers would serve as centers of the Carrier Task Forces, a mobile fleet formation, centered around carriers and operating from strategic points within the Attican Traverse. Though initially expected to become a failure, England-class quickly earned itself a reputation as a fearsome and powerful force multiplier in any engagement within the volatile Attican Traverse, able to rapidly deploy fighters and bombers to turn the tide of most engagements. The lead ship of the class, SSV England, under the command of Captain Arthur Drake, would quickly gain renown as bane of pirates and slavers, with Captain Drake proving instrumental in the development and implementation of carrier-dedicated tactics for space warfare.

Although it was proven to be a success, England-class are known to suffer from several notable issues, such as narrow compartments, limited space for fighters' repair facilities and armament storage facilities, along others, stemming from it's insufficient conversion. Despite these issues, England-class would quickly gain popularity and need within the Alliance Navy, and just three months after their introduction, Alliance ordered additional carriers to be fielded. By 2165, Alliance Navy operated 48 England-carriers, before more modern and fully dedicated Bactria-class Carrier was introduced into the Navy, which began to slowly phase out England-class. England-class is also responsible for the utilization of names of historical regions and countries for carriers.

Nelson-class Assault Fleet Carrier

Developed by Angelus Industries' Space R&D Saturn Bureau, with personal assistance of Alex Drake in 2164 and introduced into the Alliance Navy in 2165, Nelson-class Assault Fleet Carrier is new Alliance Navy's capital ship, being the largest and most sophisticated warship ever built and put into service by the Alliance. A completely novel design and a departure from more established Alliance ship building patterns, Nelson-class presents a surprising symbiosis of modern dreadnaught style warfare and re-emerging carrier centered strategic and tactical focus. Combining extremely powerful armaments with massive advance fighter compliments, Nelson-class Assault Fleet Carrier is a fearsome warship, representing the determination and will of the Alliance to advance and fight for their place in the galaxy.

In 2164, Citadel Council had officially recognized power and influence of the Systems Alliance and granted Humanity Council Associate Status, which it accepted. Following this, the Systems Alliance entered the Treaty of Farixen, which severely limited their naval expansion capabilities, centered around dreadnaughts. With the rapid growth of colonies and expansion into Attican Traverse and Skyllian Verge, Alliance Strategic Command desperately required an alternative to the dreadnaughts, and one week later, Angelus Industries introduced the Nelson-class Assault Fleet Carrier. Due specific terms of Treaty of Farixen, regarding dreadnaught classification and their main caliber weapon, Nelson-class could be constructed without any restrictions, despite being the strongest class of warship in the Alliance.

Introduced into the Alliance Navy in the very late 2165, Nelson-class dwarves previously constructed Everest and Monte Blanca classes dreadnaughts, in size, armaments and sheer power. Featuring advance innovative technologies, Nelson-class is the most advance and powerful warship in service of the Alliance. Unlike earlier England-class, Nelson-class possesses new double layered kinetic and heat dispersion armor plating, affording it exceptional defense from both kinetic and energy weaponry. Utilizing novel 5 kinetic barrier projectors, Nelson-class features layered active kinetic barriers, allowing for rapid cycling of the barriers, which are capable of withstanding heavy barrages of even several dreadnaughts. Nelson-class is powered by two newly developed drive cores, which afford it surprising amount of speed and maneuver for a ship of her size, as well as powering her armaments.

Being a fusion of a battleship and a carrier, Nelson-class carries extensive and powerful weapons systems, starting with Icarus Laser Defense System against light targets and missiles and 6 disruptor missile launchers. In addition to those, Nelson-class carries 36 M21 Mass Accelerator turrets, main armaments of the Geneva-class cruiser, which would later be replaced with Perseus Accelerator turrets, spread around the hall of the Assault Fleet Carrier, both on bottom and top. The main armament of the Nelson-class are 16 Heracles Macro-Accelerator cannons in 8 double turrets, in batteries of 4 placed on both top and bottom respectively for an effective coverage, capable of engaging enemy in every direction and attitude and destroying most enemies with just a few volleys.

As a an Assault Fleet Carrier, main power of the Nelson-class lies in it's flight compliment, consisting of new modern F-7 Raptors, with massive and extensive facilities to operate, repair, house and arm them. Distributed across the starboard and port of the ship, Nelson-class' hangars are designed to facilitate both rapid deployment thanks to magnetic propulsion launch tubes and return back for repairs or reload in the middle of battle. All of those features make Nelson-class the most powerful vessel among the known ships, with Alliance Intelligence and clandestine organization Cerberus confirming, that it surpasses current mainstay dreadnaughts of Asari and Turians in every form. Simulations showed, that Turian Manae-class and Asari Benevolent-class lose in every engagement.

Initially produced in Saturnine Docks, Nelson-class' production had been expanded to several more shipyards, with Skyfall Station being one more. Currently Alliance operates 5 Nelson-class Assault Fleet Carriers, with SSV Zheng He replacing SSV Everest as Alliance's flagship, while lead ship of the class, SSV Nelson was assigned as ship of Rear Admiral Arthur Drake. Nelson-class Assault Fleet Carrier also served as an inspiration and partial basis for Bactria-class Carrier, meant to replace the England-class Carrier, and Moscow-class Cruiser, a replacement for Geneva-class.

Length: 1180 meters.

Crew: 2310 personnel

Carrier capacity: 192 F-7 Raptors

F-7 Raptor

Developed alongside the Nelson-class, F-7 Raptor Fighter Bomber is the next generation Alliance fighter, serving as a representation of the evolving nature of Alliance's naval doctrine. Inspired by the fighters of 20th and 21st Centuries, F-7 Raptor is a versatile and highly effective platform, able to act as both fighter and bomber, depending of the mission configuration.

Developed after the analysis of current fighters' performances, GUARDIAN systems and study of warfare, F-7 Raptor presents a new saying in the starfighter warfare and utilization. Covered in ablative protection armor, coupled with a kinetic barrier, based off of those used by Nelson-class, F-7 Raptor is virtually impervious to modern GUARDIAN Systems, while it's extremely powerful thrusters allow it exceptional maneuverability and speed for its size. Featuring new modular composition, partially inspired by fighters of 20th and 21st centuries, Raptor is capable of carrying a wide variety of various payloads, such as guided and unguided missiles, torpedoes, disruptor missiles and more, as well as mounting additional weaponry.

Standard weaponry of Raptor are 2x Veles Rapid Twin Accelerator cannons, mounted on the main body, proven highly effective against any fighter in service of Citadel races and even against lightly armored capital ships, such as frigates. Modular and adaptive construction allows F-7 Raptor to perform multiple duties and tasks, both in space and in the atmosphere.

Currently, F-7 Raptor is produced on multiple worlds, with primary production sites being located on Terra Nova, Saturnine Docks and Skyfall Station respectively. It had quickly started to phase out earlier and now morally outdated Alliance models, with fighter pilots singing praises to the Raptors. Turian Captain Derius Tyre of Turian Cruiser HSV Militant who responded to a distress signal to human colony of Bekenstein and witnessed F-7's first deployment, was recorded saying following: "Spirits have mercy for any fool who finds itself as prey of this Raptor…"

Heracles Macro Accelerator Cannon

Developed in 2163 by Alexander Drake and Rhea Grissom, Heracles Macro Accelerator Cannon is an evolution of modern mass accelerator weapons, representing a miniaturization of the dreadnaught grade weapon into a smaller package, yet with increase of power. Utilizing advance and classified magnetic field and acceleration systems, Heracles Cannon possess extremely high destructive capabilities against any target

Heracles Cannons fire 12 kilo slugs, much smaller than dreadnaught caliber, but far surpassing in speed and power, they can be fired every 5 seconds. Upon firing, the slug travels with such speed that it creates a visible beam, mistaking it for a particle weapon, able to ignore or break any most barriers with several volleys. Sheer speed and power of impact from Heracles Cannons are capable of overloading kinetic barriers of most ships, to the point of causing massive electronic damage to ships and disabling it, while protective armor of the ships suffers extreme damage.

Representing the cutting edge in the field of major weapons' systems, Heracles Macro Accelerator Cannons are the most powerful cannon in service of the Alliance, without any analogues in any other races. Currently, it is only employed on Nelson-Class Assault Fleet Carrier, as a weapon for dreadnaught grade power stations. It also served as a basis for Perseus Accelerator Cannon, a smaller variant, meant to be mounted on cruisers and frigates.

Hello everyone. I'm pretty sure you all wish to see the continuation of the battle of Skyfall, and I do intend to get right to it, but I've been a little bit busy to get to it, so instead of keeping you simply waiting, I decided to try something new. Mass Effect is famous for it's Codex entries, and how they give us players so much more context and interesting information, so I've decided to try my hand at making it.

Let me know what you think of them, and if I should continue posting these from time to time, covering various topics.

See ya!
