Things were more or less regular the next six months. I made some good paper dealing, with a huge chunk of it endin' in Tony Dracon's wallet. Speaking of Dracon, he ended up taken down by the po-po around Thanksgiving time.
It was around that time I was told to scope some homeless shelter in an old underground research facility that had some weird characters.
And among the bums, there were.
there were these four people, dressed in these winged cat costumes. I wondered why they wore those costumes. I figured at the time they must have been burn victims and they was wearing these costumes to hide their burn scars or somethin'.
I learned more about the place, it was huge, three times the size of a penthouse.
And I managed to speak with these two G's, Lou and Chaz.
They told me that one of the cat people was a longtime homie of theirs called Fang. he was human, and participated in an experiment by this place called Gen-U-Tech that turned him into a cat with wing that can shoot lightning bolts.
And on further visits, I learned that this Fang G wanted to run the place.
there was an opportunity for us Seville Street Granitors, right there!
It was on January 1, 1996- after ringin' in the New Year on Seville Street, that I arranged for Fang to meet up with Big Mike, inside his Cadillac parked in a nearby alley.
And the plan was clear. Once Fang takes over, he was going to let us Granitors use the place. It was gonna be a crack house and a brothel.
And Fang won't be gouging us, unlike Dracon.
So it was a few days later when he did take over, locking up this other cat person named Talon, whom Fang told me used to be a cop.
Things were gonna change big time for the Granitors.
Then those gargoyles came, like five of them.
There was all this fightin', and it seemed that Fang knew these gargoyles, including that bnig tubby greenish blue one who stopped my drive-by back in June. I learned that the gargoyle with the red beak was named Brooke Lynn.
But then the gargoyles defeated him, and locked him in some sort of chamber.
"Big Mike will be disappointed," I said.
