"No way did I do that! You're still trapped in my head, you dumb ass!" Jinx yelled defiantly. Raven looked at her in disbelief, amazed at Jinx's audacity to taunt the Lord of the Underworld.
"that can be arrange"
Fireballs began to form, each directed towards Jinx, ready to be unleashed upon her.
"If you please, spare me the difficulties, and pass me the artifact" Trigon requested, his voice laced with a sinister edge.
"Just give it to me, Jinx!" Raven warned urgently, her voice tinged with desperation. "Please, I can control him!"
"No!" Jinx's voice rang out, determined and resolute.
"Jinx!" Raven yelled simultaneously as she pushed her, forcing her to dodge the incoming fireballs. "He is going to kill you!"
"So what?" Jinx's defiant response echoed in the air.
"Are you out of your mind?" Raven's frustration was palpable.
"You tell me," Jinx retorted from her hiding place behind some rocks. "Oh yeah, we're actually inside my mind!."
As they desperately shielded themselves from the relentless onslaught, Trigon's words continued to resonate with a deep, commanding tone.
Young one," Trigon's voice slithered, laced with temptation, reaching out to Jinx. "I can grant you whatever you truly desire. Power? Wealth? I know what resides in your head, what you long for the most. Just give me that stone. Or perhaps, do you wish for your family to come back?"
Raven watched the change in Jinx's demeanor as Trigon mentioned her family. It was as if a flicker of vulnerability and longing had sparked within her. In that moment, Raven's heart sank, realizing her own ignorance and lack of empathy towards Jinx's past and the pain she may have endured. A wave of remorse washed over her, and she wished she had taken the time to understand her teammate's struggles.
Jinx's fingers tightened around the bracelet, her focus solely fixated on the object in her hand. It was as if she were oblivious to the chaotic fire blasts that surrounded them, lost in her own thoughts and desires. The weight of her decision hung in the air, and Raven couldn't help but feel a sense of unease, unsure of the path Jinx would choose.
"Just give me the bracelet. You don't know what you're up against!" Raven pleaded, extending her open hand towards Jinx, her tone filled with a combination of urgency and sincerity. "Jinx... I am sorry for the nightmares you've endured. They were because of me. It's not fair, and I am truly sorry. This is my fight, and it will always be. I trust you to be a Titan and do what is right."
"You trust me?" Jinx's voice quivered with uncertainty as she locked eyes with Raven. "Come on, Rae. Do you genuinely trust me? Or is this because you think I want your father's power for myself?" Raven remained silent, unable to offer an immediate response. "Yeah, that's what I thought," Jinx muttered, a mixture of disappointment and frustration evident in her voice. "You know what, Raven? That is your problem. You're always so consumed by your own shit that you fail to see how others might feel. You think you're so... I don't know, so miserable that you have to be the hero. You claim to be an empath, but you're nothing but a self-glorified victim."
Trigon, hearing Jinx's words, stopped the fire, finding amusement in her. "Such passion, such power. Young witch, you deserve to be more than what I originally realized. Join me, and I'll give you everything you ever wanted, everything you desire," Trigon offered. "detroy the gem, and consider yourself blessed"
Raven, completely confused, was still processing Jinx's words. How could Jinx understand her better than anyone else in just one day? She snapped out of her guilt and firmly grasped Jinx's shoulders. "He is lying."
"So are you," Jinx responded, her voice laced with frustration and hurt.
"I am not," Raven insisted, her voice carrying conviction.
"And how should I know?" Jinx questioned, her doubt evident.
"Correct, my child," Trigon interjected from behind. "I am NOT lying. I know for a fact that you understand the magnitude of my capabilities."
Raven's unease grew as Trigon's words echoed through her mind. Jinx, seemingly unfazed, stepped away from the rocks, proudly displaying the bracelet. Just as Raven moved to intervene, chains emerged from the ground, rendering her immobile. Panic surged within Raven as she desperately tried to reason with Jinx.
"No, Jinx! He won't give you anything! He only wants to return to Earth, to the universe. You're a Titan!" she pleaded urgently, her voice filled with concern.
Ignoring Raven, Jinx locked eyes with the four menacing red orbs. "So, what's the deal?" she asked nonchalantly, her signature irreverent tone cutting through the tense atmosphere. "How do you plan on delivering all the things you promised?"
"destroy the gem"
"And you promise me you won't split my body in half to come out?. We just met, and you were pretty intense with those nightmare episodes."
Trigon offered a sincere apology, "I swear you will be spared. Just ask me for anything."
Raven's desperate urge to intervene was abruptly halted as a searing surge of fire traveled through the chains that bound her and surged into her own body. A heart-wrenching scream tore from her lips. Flames danced along her skin, scorching her flesh and consuming her from within. The intensity of the torment seemed unbearable, yet Jinx stood motionless, seemingly unaffected by Raven's suffering.
"Fine, i´ll destroy the thing but, here's what I want," Jinx declared, unfazed by the chaos. "I want to leave this place. Then, you'll tell me how to remove you from my head, and I also want to rid my mind of Raven. I don't want her haunting me for the rest of my life. Oh, and I want to enhance the power of my spells."
"Jinx, please! Think, please!" Raven pleaded desperately.
"Oh, shut up!" Jinx retorted, unleashing a surge of electrifying pink energy that intensified Raven's pain. Raven's screams filled the air as Jinx turned her gaze towards Trigon. A smile played on her lips as she posed her final question. "So, do we have a deal?"
"Of course, if you swear eternal loyalty to..." Trigon began.
Interrupting him, Jinx confidently interjected, "Yes, yes, eternal loyalty, complete obedience, blah, blah, blah. I know how this works. I'm not dumb, noted, powers now!"
Trigon hesitated for a moment, both impressed and offended by Jinx's audacity. After considering her request, he finally agreed to grant her the power she desired. Pink flames erupted from the ground, enveloping Jinx in their mesmerizing glow. She could feel the exhilarating surge of power coursing through her veins, and a villainous smile adorned her face.
Turning her attention to Raven, Jinx saw the devastation and fear in her former teammate's eyes. Raven, however, met her gaze with dignity and issued a warning. "You're going to regret this, Jinx. Not for me, not for the universe, but for yourself."
Jinx slowly advanced towards Raven, the crackling energy intensifying with each step she took. Her voice dripped with malice as she taunted, "Aren't you jealous? Trigon likes me better than you."
Raven, still bound and unable to escape, looked at Jinx with a mix of concern and defiance. "You have no idea what you're saying,"
"You have no idea what you're saying," she retorted.
Jinx, fueled by her growing power, inched even closer, relishing in the fear that flickered in Raven's eyes. "Maybe some unresolved father issues?" she sneered, reveling in her own power and the torment she inflicted.
The air crackled with energy as Jinx's pink bolt surged, illuminating the room with its dazzling glow. Raven, undeterred, refused to close her eyes, maintaining her dignity even in the face of imminent danger. She braced herself, prepared to face whatever fate awaited her.
In a split second, Jinx channeled her immense power, illuminating the surroundings with a vibrant pink hue. Raven braced herself for the anticipated pain, expecting Jinx's attack. However, to her surprise, Jinx's actions defied expectations.
Instead of striking her, Jinx unleashed her devastating power upon the very chains that had held Raven captive. With remarkable precision, she free her from her constraints. As the chains disintegrated, Jinx reached out and grabbed hold of Raven and With unwavering focus, she conjured a pink portal, an escape route from the clutches of their tormentor.
In one fluid motion, Jinx propelled both herself and Raven through the swirling portal
When they emerged on the other side, they found themselves in the safety of Raven's room. Raven, disoriented and bewildered, struggled to process the sudden change in scenery. Jinx, however, wasted no time in taking charge.
Jinx urgently shook her, trying to snap her out of the disorienting haze. "Hey, wake up! Quick, we need to perform a ritual!" Jinx exclaimed, her voice laced with a sense of urgency. She grabbed the bracelet and the small piece of pink stone
Confused, Raven shook her head and asked, "What... are you doing?"
"I am locking your daddy in my head, just like you in your red thing, sugarcube," Jinx replied, pointing at the gem on Raven's forehead.
Raven protested, "No, no, no! You can't do that!"
Jinx sighed, her tone softened. "All the things I told you before, they're real. Stop acting like you're the only Titan in the world. You sound like Robin, and you're way better than him. I kind of like you. Can you please trust me? Can you trust somebody else for once?"
"You're never getting rid of him, believe me. It's not something you'll like, those nightmares..."
"you have them too, dont you?" Jinx asked, realizing that their shared experiences might be deeper than she initially thought.
"Every day, for as long as I can remember," Raven confessed, the weight of sadness evident in her words. "It's not a life I want for you. Just give me the pink gem."
Jinx considered Raven's plea, knowing that surrendering the gem would expose Raven to the torment that plagued her own existence. "If I do that, it will drive you crazy," Jinx warned, her voice filled with concern. "And I'm not talking about a good kind of crazy. I mean serious psychiatric, Arkham Asylum crazy. Tell me if I'm wrong."
Raven's silence hung in the air, as she found herself unable to deny the truth in Jinx's words.
"You can teach me to handle him, like you," Jinx explained. "And hey! I've got enhanced powers. It's a win-win situation."
"It's a burden you'll have to carry," Raven cautioned, her voice filled with a mix of concern and warning. "For the rest of your life!"
Jinx placed a hand on Raven's shoulder, offering a comforting reassurance. "Shh, Rae, I understand. I'm going to ask you something, and I need you to answer me as honestly as you can, okay?" Raven nodded, her expression tense, awaiting the question. "Will you sacrifice yourself for me? A villain you don't trust, someone you kind of hate but find adorable," Jinx's mischievous smile surfaced. "Someone who gets on your nerves all the time. Are you willing to sacrifice yourself for me?"
Raven blushed, her fists clenched tightly as she battled her inner turmoil. "I would... Just give me that damn fucking gem!" she exclaimed, reaching out, but Jinx was quicker, evading her grasp.
"Cool," Jinx responded, her tone surprisingly calm. "So, I'm willing to do the same. Can you please perform the ritual before pops realizes I'm betraying him?"
Raven gazed at Jinx, her emotions stirred. A single tear escaped her eye as she held Jinx's hand with a firm grip. "You will never be alone ever again, Jinx. I swear on my mother's grave."
"Same," Jinx simply answered, her grip on Raven's hand tightening. With a resolute determination, Raven began meticulously creating a precise and intricate symbol within her room, forming a circle. Jinx stood at the center, clutching the small pink stone, her heart pounding with anticipation. Unbeknownst to the other Titans, a sense of unease grew within them, sensing the gravity of the situation unfolding.
