Totally Spies IS NOT mine

Having Jerry there was more uncomfortable than she expected. From the kitchen, she could see how the agent was concentrated in little Gabe, analyzing and maybe, trying to figures why he had so many doubts about a child who had done absolutely nothing. Coffee was almost ready so Sam's brain was trying to find what was the best way to initiate the conversation. She took the cups, and the recently-made coffee, and went back to the living room.

"Here you go"

"Thank you, Samantha" she smiled, trying to hide how nervous she was. She took a seat next to little Gabe, checking on him before concentrating on Jerry.

"So... I'm all ears" Jerry took a sip of his coffee. His mind was all over the place, not knowing where to start, but it was clear for him that he cannot leave that place without offering an appropriate apology. His behavior the last months was inexcusable and he wanted to let her know that it wasn't her fault.

"I'm ashamed of myself" Sam stayed silent, not wanting to interrupt him even though she had so many things to say "I shouldn't have let my issues with Scam interfere in our relationship. It was not fair for you and..." he looked at the baby next to her "little Gabe" The thought of him hating an innocent baby was disastrous. For God's sake, Tim, the man who he thought was wrong, was the one who put some senses in him "I understand if you hate me".

"I don't hate you" the quick response, took Jerry by surprise. "It's true, you hurt me with your actions, especially, with your attitude towards the most beautiful angel that became my whole world," The red-headed girl looked lovely at her son, caressing one of his little cheeks "but I can understand it, in some level" Little Gabe took the moment to make clear he was being ignored and he wasn't happy about it. "What's wrong, little prince?" Jerry witnessed once again this new version of the girl he has known forever. If he had been more mature about it, he could have been an active participant during the whole process so those scenes wouldn't be so surreal. "Sorry. Since his birth, I have a new policy: Stop everything I'm doing if he needs me".

"It's understandable" the ex-spy took the baby and settled him on her lap. The little Scam facing Jerry with his innocent's green eyes.

"As I was saying: I didn't expect you to be happy when the news came out, I knew I had to give you some time to get used to this new reality, but when the months passed by and our relationship was getting worse, I just...lost hope. When you didn't come to Gabe's birth, I... feel betrayed, I thought it was a confirmation that we were done" Her words were sincere, she didn't care if she hurt his feelings. At that point, it was his turn on feeling what she had felt for the past months. "I didn't fall in love with Tim on purpose, let alone get pregnant with his child. I know I didn't act as I supposed to and I apologize for that, but it wasn't fair to blame little Gabe for our mistakes".

"I'm sorry" was the only thing he could say. Sam looked at him, taking a deep breath in the process.

"I know, I accept your apologies, but that doesn't mean everything is going to be the same, at least, not for now" She looked at her son and smiled "Now you need my prince's approval to fully come back to me because he is my life now".

He could see it all over her. Maybe she had been a mom for a few days, but the bond with Gabe was strong, and he knew that there was no way of being part of her life without him. He looked at the baby and smiled. He already liked the kid, even if he looked like a clone of his father.

A month passed by and little Gabe was a healthy one-month-old baby who was a few minutes apart from seeing his father again. Yes, a month had passed and Tim had not seen his son in person since his birth. Of course, it was difficult to see him through a screen but both parents agreed that, even if they had the permission for visits, it was best for him to wait for a little to take him to WOOHP's headquarters.

"Are you excited, Gabe? You're going to see daddy" The baby cooed in response. To Sam, the last month had been a rollercoaster. She had been getting used to her new role as a mom, identifying every single gesture, cry, and expression of her son, wanting to know what exactly he needed at the moment. Even though Tim was trying his best to keep in touch, technically, she was a single mom. Every process, medical appointment, Gabe's shopping list, everything was on her shoulders. Yes, her parents and the girls were helping her but as she said before, Gabe was her son, hers, and Tim's responsibility.

"Good morning, Samantha". the guard greeted and smiled when he saw the little bundle on the baby carrier. "He must be your son; congratulations".

"Thank you" she wasn't looking for a pointless conversation so she handed their permissions and credentials "Are we finish here?"

"Yes, you can pass" The walk through those long halls was unexpectedly satisfactory for her, the thought of father and son reunited, made her happy, and gave her some relief. Every step she made was full of hope and happiness knowing that Tim was waiting for them. The label 'Visit room 1' appeared in front of her. She took her card, passed it over the scanner, and watched how the door opened. Her heartbeats skipped when a familiar figure appeared in her sight, he was deep in thought, staring at nothing.

"Damn it, I don't like to admit it, but you look good" Tim jumped a little but recovered quickly when he recognized his visitors.

"Hey..." he wasted no time and captured her lips with his. When the kiss ended, Tim's attention went to the pair of innocent green-eyes watching the scene. He kneeled in front of his son, touching his tiny cheeks, trying to confirm that the infant was there. "Hi, champion" when the little Scam recognized the face he had been seeing through a screen, he smiled, showing to his father his toothless-sweet smile.

"See? He's happy to see you face-to-face" Tim took the child from his carrier, trying to hold him carefully. He only held him the day he was born so he hadn't had as much practice as Sam

"I'm doing it OK, right? Sam smiled.

"You're doing great" she assured. The reunited family took a seat on the near couch, the ex-criminal with his eyes locked on his son. He treasured every single moment he could share with Gabe, he was growing so fast that hurt him, he didn't like to miss so many things.

"He had gotten so big"

"Yes, I just can't believe he's one-month-old already. It feels like yesterday when I found out about my pregnancy"

"I know, it's incredible" Tim's attention flew to Sam "Tell me, anything new?"

It has been a month and she hasn't told him about her meeting with Jerry. She said to herself that if Tim asked about some related topic, she would, but that never happened. Sam wasn't going to waste the little amount of time he had with his son to discuss something that she considered 'not important'. "I got a job where I can work from home so I can be with Gabe, at least, until he gets a little older"

"That sounds good, congratulations, love"

"Thank you, Timmy" replied her with the nickname he hated so much "What about you?" The action of remain silent was odd in him. Tim was the kind of person who spoke without thinking when he trusted someone so seeing him figuring out what to say next, was strange. "What are you hiding?" Tim sighed

"I received a citation"

"About what?"

"About my sentence...they want to inform me something" Concerned spread over her expression "Maybe is for something good…"

"Or they wanted to add charges because you escaped several times and impregnated one of their spies" From that point of view it looked bad, and it was possible that was the case.

"For now, it doesn't matter. I just want to relax and spend this time with you two"

"But…"

"Please"

Sam didn't say anything else. He was right. The last thing he needed is to be preoccupied with something else than spending time with his little champion.

Tim felt the sudden urge of having his family secure. He accustomed his son on one arm to hug his girlfriend with the other. The rest of the visit passed by peacefully, the small family enjoying the little amount of time they had.

Midnight arrived at the spies' penthouse, finding mother and son fully awake. Her baby wasn't the reason for her sleeplessness, he joined her half an hour ago when hunger attacked him. She fed him and expected him to fall asleep again, but no, his green-eyes were wide open without a trace of Morpheus so he became her partner that night. She took her son, went to her bed, using the wall to support her back and flexed her legs so little Gabe could use them as his bed. She smiled at the perfect human being created with pure love.

"Do you want to tell me something, angel?" The baby reacted to his mommy's voice, little arms and legs moving in excitement, a little smile on his innocent face. Sam felt her heart explode. She needed that kind of relief; after the visit, she was uneasy. She hated not to know what was going to happen next, especially, because she knew it could have repercussions not only in Tim but in Gabe's life as well. She was scared of think about any possible scenario where his little son could suffer. Maybe not in the moment, but if Tim's situation got more complicated, the possibility of Gabe growing up without his father was increasing

"Are you worried too, little prince?" She leaned until she touched her forehead with his, generating an enthusiastic response from him. "Momma loves you" Yes, she was worried but having this little bundle of joy in her arms, gave her hope. She needed to be strong for him.

He couldn't recall when was the last time he dressed in a suit. When he received the citatory, he didn't expect it to be such a formal situation. In front of him, were five people with masks, sitting in a weird form-C-table. A single chair was placed in front of the furniture where he assumed he will be sitting.

"Good evening, Mr. Scam"

"Good evening" He took his seat.

"It's being a while"

"A couple of years" Crimes related to WOOHP's were uncommon and not regulars, so the trials were the same. Those five people were practically the jury and judges, the ones with the power of declared him innocent or guilty and dictated sentence. He will never know who those people were because their identity had been always protected so, basically, he would never know the faces that judged him.

"Correct. We heard you are a new father. Congratulations" Tim swallowed, getting nervous, even though he was trying his best to not show it.

"Thank you. I assume you didn't bring me here to congratulate me"

"You assume right" responded one of the members "We've been informed that we have some things to update on your files"

"Multiples escapes from WOOHP, to visit your sentimental partner, who turned out to be one of our best spies, for example"

"Do you realize that this could complicate your situation and enlarge your sentence? Miss Simpson got lucky because there is no evidence she helped you escape. She could have been accused of complicity "

"I know," The calm tone he used to reply, surprised them "but as you can see, I'm here. I don't have any intentions of running away or commit more crimes"

"Oh, really?

"As you said, I have a son now. The only thing I wanted is to serve my time in prison to be free and be with my family" Silence engulfed the room. Tim started to think that maybe sincerity wasn't his best option at the moment.

"Well...to be fair, they're more pros than cons to add on your file" Finally, something was sounding good! "You've been doing your community service, good behavior..."

"Also, you were part of the solution when LAMOS tried to escape. In fact, it's written in this report that you saved Jerry Lewis' life from his evil brother" Tim nodded. "That's impressive"

"Am I supposed to say 'thank you'? I don't want to sound disrespectful but, can you please tell me what is the point here?"

"Well, Mr. Scam we've been told to check your situation because you have been recommended to a sentence reduction" Tim's heart skipped, his breath caught for a brief second. Was he dreaming? "Even though you escaped, you always return and continue with your service so we're not going to take that into consideration. Instead, we're just going to rethink our entire security system".

"We called you because the process involved some evaluations you must take to assure you are rehabilitated and can be reintegrated to society" He was beyond happy. "When the process is over, then we're going to announce your new sentence"

"Thank you so much," he said, sincerely, holding back the happy tears for the privacy of his cell. It was unexpected, he couldn't believe it but was grateful. He will be with his family faster than he expected.

"You're awake, Scam"

"I knew you were coming " Jerry didn't reply. It was late at night, he should wait until the next day, but he felt the need to have a little chat with him. "Thank you, by the way. I know it was you who recommended me. Although, I still don't get why you did it. I thought you hated me"

"I do"

"Nice…"

"But…I talked to Samantha" Tim looked at him surprised.

"She didn't tell me that"

"I assume she didn't want you to worry about me until she can prove I will remain around. I can accept that my judgment towards you is kind of old. I need to focus on what's been happening in front of me and work with that".

"I have the intention to remain on this path. I wanted to be the person that Sam and Gabe deserve. Trust me."

"I trusted Sam, " he corrected" that's why I'm trying to give you a real chance this time, but believe me when I said that I'm not letting my guard down, Scam" responded "Giving a change is not the same as being naïve.

"I think is fair" admitted "Still, thank you; this means a lot to me"

"You're welcome" Jerry started to walk away "By the way, I never congratulate you properly on your new fatherhood. Gabriel is a marvelous baby".

"Yes, he is, thank you"

"Good night, Scam".

"Good night, Jerry" When the door closed and the lights were off, Tim smiled through the darkness. It was the first time in a very long time he felt that everything was getting together. Hope was invading him.
