Ominis Gaunt stared blankly at his best friend, Sebastian Sallow. He had been blind since he was born, and they had never been able to find a cure for it. As much as Sebastian was intelligent and proficient in learning, he had no common sense. Although he couldn't see the other boy, he could tell by Sebastian's twin, Anne's, sigh that he was doing something stupid. This thought was quickly proven to be true.

"Don't stick your fingers into random substances, I swear to Merlin!" Anne hissed at Sebastian, slapping his hand away from the cauldron a sixth-year student had worked on for the past few weeks.

"What? Oh, it's fine, just a colour-changing potion, no harm," Sebastian said as he waved his hand dismissively. Anne glared at him.

"Anyway," Ominis drawled, pulling the twins from their arguing, "back to the blasting curse."

"Right, let's go!" Sebastian enthusiastically declared, pulling his twin along by her arm.

"Why do we need to learn this again?" Anne questioned, her eyes darting between both boys. Ominis cheekily grinned at her.

"Because," Sebastian answered enthusiastically. Anne shook her head at him, playfully rolling her eyes.

"Why do we need to learn this in the middle of the Forbidden Forest?" Anne asked as she looked around the clearing they stood in.

They stood in an overgrown clearing, relatively deep within the forest. Giant oak trees loomed over the trio. Their large branches and thick leaf growth encroached upon the clearing. Anne noticed a few Wampus trees around the clearing, their long droopy branches covered in thick thorns spreading through the forest.

"Well, the blasting curse is a little frowned upon," Sebastian said.

"What he means to say is that the professors would get mad," Ominis said bluntly.

Sebastian opened his mouth to argue but quickly closed it, looking a little like a fish, in Anne's opinion.

"Thanks, Ominis," Sebastian drawled. Anne giggled a little at the pair's antics.

"Anytime," he paused, "anyway. The incantation is Confringo, emphasising the 'fr' portion."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, get on with it," Sebastian whined in a childlike manner. Anne glared at him, slapping him on the back of the head. Ominis silently laughed at the pair's interactions.

"Continue, Ominis," Anne said with a slight smile towards the other boy, regardless of the fact that he couldn't see her.

"Anyway, as I was saying, the incantation is ConFRingo. Make sure you say it with intent. This is a spell very focused on the intent of the caster," Ominis spoke, pausing for a moment and waiting for both of the twins to murmur in the affirmative before continuing, "The wand movement is in the shape of a Z. Ensure that you move your wand at a consistent speed. To start, you should go slowly, but as you become more experienced, you can speed up the wand motion."

Both twins took a step back so they were slightly further from Ominis, aware that he didn't have the best aim due to his poor vision. Anne carefully directed him towards a large Oak tree that stood on the edge of the clearing.

"ConFRingo!" he spoke, voice clear as he deftly moved his wand in the 'Z' motion. A large burst of magic exploded from the tip of Ominis's wand. The spell spread through the air before slamming into a tree. They watched as the tree trunk shattered, sending chunks of wood all over the clearing.

"My turn!" Sebastian yelled excitedly.

"Alright, let's see it," Ominis said, stepping back so Sebastian could stand where he had previously been standing.

"ConFringo!" Sebastian shouted, quickly moving his wand in the 'Z' motion. Heat erupted from the end of his wand, shooting towards a Wampas tree. Unlike Ominis's, which caused the tree to explode, the tree merely shook.

"Are you ready?" Sebastian whispered, looking over to Ominis questioningly. They were 'sneaking' behind the headmaster, Phineas Nigellus Black. Their sneaking consisted of walking normally, just messing about as they tended to. Anne was stationed a few classrooms down the hallway, waiting for the pair's signal. She had been designated the caster due to her better control of the spell than either Sebastian or Ominis. She stood just inside the classroom with a duelling dummy across the room.

Sebastian and Ominis had previously set up a large bucket filled with a colour-changing potion diluted with a bit of water. This was done to reduce the potion's potency, slightly reducing the length and strength of the effects, too. The bucket sat atop the doorway, held in place with a sticking charm.

As the pair followed the headmaster down the hallway, they began to get louder, making awful puns.

"How does the headmaster get back to his office?" Sebastian asked as soon as the headmaster was in position.

"I don't know, how?" Ominis asked loudly.

"He Slytherin," Sebastian shouted.

Anne rolled her eyes at the stupid signal her brother came up with. She raised her wand, whispering the incantation under her breath as she made the 'Z' motion with her wand. The duelling dummy rammed against the wall, the loud noise reverberated through the room and out into the hallway.

The headmaster stepped through the doorway, the potion dumping all over his head as Sebastian subtly flicked his wand, removing the sticking charm. All the students in the hallway turned to look, their interest garnered even further than the initial bang had. Anne slipped out of the room as the headmaster stumbled back into the hallway, potion dripping from his hair and robes. His hair and robes began to subtly change until they were bright green.

Matilda Weasley angrily glared at the trio. Sebastian opened his mouth to defend their actions but quickly closed it again.

"You dumped a bucket of colour-changing potion on the headmaster," she spoke, her eyes darting between the three Slytherin students.

"Allegedly," Sebastian said. Anne and Professor Weasley looked at him incredulously.

At that, Ominis spoke up. "It literally couldn't be worse. And yet, you're still managing to make it worse. That's a true feat, my friend."

"Hey!" Sebastian protested, narrowing his eyes, his brows furrowing as he looked towards his friend.

"Enough, the two of you," Anne feverishly whispered, lightly whacking both boys.

"The three of you will be reporting to the kitchens after dinner for the next three weeks to serve your detentions," Professor Weasley said disapprovingly, looking at the trio, "I hope you will have learned your lesson after this. You are dismissed."

The trio of Slytherins scampered out of the room, glad their punishment hadn't been more severe.

"I can't believe you two talked me into this," Anne said, looking between the two boys.

"Hey, hey, it wasn't me. It was all Sebastian's idea," Ominis deflected.

Sebastian sheepishly grinned, not feeling in the least bit sorry. "Don't worry, little sis, I'm just getting started," he said with a chuckle.
