Summary: Noticing how two newlywed couples aren't gelling with each other very well, Chris decides to switch them up. Now Cody is paired with Heather and he doesn't know how to feel about that.
"I'd like to call this next challenge: Till Death Do You Part!"
Cody looked at the tightrope that was spanning from the platform to the end of Niagara Falls. He felt sick at the thought of crossing it. They were so far high and one misstep could send them falling so so far down.
"We escaped falling down Niagara Falls just so you could make us walk over it on a tightrope?!" Cody asked incredulously.
"Even better. Each person has to carry their bride across the court. And then, you've got to successfully clear customs! First pair to make it wins invincibility and a pimped out wedding reception in first class!" Chris explained to the cast, and Cody could already feel Sierra's hot breath on his neck.
"But before we move on, I need to address some concerns about two of our married couples. The first one is Alejandro and Heather." Chris continued, making Heather and Alejandro's eyes widen in shock.
"What did we do?" Alejandro asked fearfully.
"Actually it's more about what you did Alejandro. You were talking with another bride. Can't start a healthy marriage by cheating so soon. The public would crucify you for that." Chris smirked at the Latin, who felt all eyes on him, mostly Heather's piercing glare.
"The second couple we gotta address is Cody and Sierra-" Chris could barely finish his sentence before Sierra gripped Chris' shirt furiously.
"What could we possibly have done for you to be concerned about our wonderful marriage?!" Sierra asked angrily much to Cody's annoyance, even if it was a challenge, Sierra had to turn it into some big romantic outing.
"First of all, touch me like that again and you're disqualified." Chris narrowed his eyes at the stalker who let him go sheepishly before he spoke up again, "Secondly, Cody outright refused to communicate with you last challenge, so therefore you are liable for a rocky marriage."
"So what does this mean for us?" Heather asked impatiently.
"We're gonna be switching your partnerships, and considering Sierra was originally supposed to be partnered with Alejandro in the first place, they'll be a couple." Chris explained happily while pushing Sierra towards Alejandro. Sierra looked upset at what was happening but wasn't going on a violent rampage, Cody may be thinking wishfully but maybe Chris' explanation had gotten through to some part of Sierra's brain.
His thoughts were interrupted when Heather walked up next to Cody with annoyance.
"Pay attention, nerdling." Heather elbowed the geek lightly when she noticed Cody was spacing out.
"Since Alejandro and Sierra put the most effort into their roles. They will go first." Chris told the group.
"Come along better half. Let us take advantage of our head start." Alejandro smirked at Sierra as he carried her bridal style while walking on the tightrope, all Sierra did was whimper sadly.
After Sierra and Alejandro got further away, Chris spoke again, "And remember, violence is never the answer. Except on this show. Go!" Chris said happily.
Owen and Blaineley, and Duncan and Courtney did not waste time getting on the tightrope, meanwhile Cody paled as he looked down at Niagara Falls.
"What are you doing?!" Heather asked harshly, snapping Cody out of his daze.
"S-Sorry. The falls are just so huge and all." Cody giggled nervously, "So how should I go about carrying you-"
Cody didn't get a chance to finish before Heather effortlessly picked him up and started carrying him over the tightrope bridal style.
"Wh-Why are you carrying me?" Cody asked.
"Because I don't trust you to be able to lift me over the falls. Now sit tight and don't move." Heather told him sternly, making Cody blush crimson.
"O-Okay." Cody replied meekly, for some reason Heather had a strange affect on Cody. Ever since Duncan's kiss with Gwen was revealed, Cody felt himself distancing towards Heather out of all his teammates so his jealousy wouldn't spiral out of control. He began to feel more comfortable around the Queen Bee and for some reason, even listened when Heather told him that voting off Gwen would be better than voting off Courtney. It was pretty strange but Cody didn't mind.
Cody decided to look at the falls below and was worried when he saw the sharks.
"Sharks…" Cody's eyes widened in horror before he felt Heather lean him closer.
"Don't look down, it'll only make it worse." Heather said harshly, "So long as I'm carrying you, you're not gonna fall."
Oddly enough, that was reassuring to Cody. In her own twisted way, Heather made him feel safe. He turned to look at her and was surprised to find how beautiful Heather looked in the sunlight.
Wait… did he say beautiful?
The dominoes began falling into place perfectly, all the weird feelings he'd been experiencing meant one thing.
He had a crush on Heather.
"Since the two of us are up here, we should talk about strategy. Courtney's a big threat and she's clearly being manipulated by Alejandro, there's also the fact she really annoys me, but ignore that part, she should still go next." Heather told Cody bluntly.
"It sounds like you're just jealous of Alejandro and Courtney." Cody raised an eyebrow.
"I am not!" Heather rolled her eyes, "I'm merely thinking logically here. Besides, you're a much more tolerable groom than he is."
Cody had to hide a smile when she said that so he could stay on track.
"Oh yeah; what about Sierra? No one seems to be targeting her so far, at least Courtney could be voted off at any time." Cody argued desperately, hoping he could get rid of his stalker so he could properly evaluate his new feelings.
"Now who's being emotional." Heather smirked at the geek teasingly, Cody couldn't help but blush at that, it didn't help Heather used her left hand to pat the back of Cody's head, "Fine. We'll vote off Sierra tonight. I'm sure you can get Owen to agree."
After that discussion, they made it to customs. Alejandro and Sierra dropped out for unexplained reasons while Blaineley and Courtney got into a tussle that sent both of their groups down.
"Business or pleasure," Chef asks the duo.
"Business." Heather says simply.
"Pleasure." Cody said before realizing he said it out loud and Heather was staring at him in suspicion, oh crap.
"Okay then. A few questions," Chef asked the couple, "What is Canada's capital?"
"That's easy. Ottawa." Cody smiled nervously, trying to distract Heather from what he said earlier.
"What leaf is on Canada's flag?"
"Maple. Obviously." Heather rolled her eyes, Cody was relieved, she seemed to have forgotten about what he said.
"What is the most famous ship in the history of Canada?"
"The Schooner Bluenose." Cody answered.
"What pastry is from Canada's origin?"
"Butter tarts." Heather said.
"What is the national animal of Canada?" Chef asked.
"Beavers." Heather and Cody said in unison.
"Wow. Got them all right, anything to declare?" Chef asked.
"Yes. I declare my husband to be useful for this challenge. Also, I don't exactly hate him like the other morons on this show." Heather said snidely, making Cody feel warm.
"And I declare my wife to be a much better option than my previous one." Cody said confidently before Heather gave him a weird look again, making Cody shrink back. Subtlety was not Cody's forte it appeared.
After the challenge, Cody had talked to Owen about getting Duncan's vote against Sierra and the chubby blonde was quick to agree to it.
Cody was practically gleeful, he would finally get rid of the stalker who's been terrorizing him all season. Suddenly he felt himself being grabbed by the back of his shirt and into the cargo hold. Once he bumped into the boxes, he looked to see the piercing gaze of Heather who was now in her normal clothes instead of the dress.
"Okay. What is your deal?" Heather asked in annoyance.
"Wh-What do you mean?" Cody asked shakily, hoping this wasn't what he thought it was.
"Apparently our fake marriage was pleasure for you instead of business and I'm a 'much better option than Sierra'." Heather spoke with a cold voice.
"Uh… I just found you a better option to partner up with in the challenge than the other girls. Sierra's creepy, Blaineley is too old, and Courtney would probably bust my kiwis." Cody lied nervously, not really lying since everything he said WAS true but he didn't want Heather to know of his crush.
"Riiiiiiiiiiight." Heather trailed off before narrowing her eyes, "But you never needed to say that our 'marriage' was pleasure, and I'm a bit surprised I'm more of an option for you than someone like Courtney who has less of a villainous streak so to speak."
"I…" Cody began before Heather put a finger to his lips.
"For the record, don't try and lie to me. I can sniff it out of you easily." Heather gave an ice cold smirk.
"F-Fine. I'm into you okay." Cody gulped, "Ever since the whole Gwen and Duncan kiss we've kinda been getting closer and after this challenge I just realized I had a crush and-"
Cody sighed before continuing, "Just kick me in the kiwis or something already. I know you don't like me like that."
"Relax Cody," Heather told the geek, "I'm not gonna kick you in the kiwis. Who am I? Courtney? Let's just get to the elimination real quick, we'll discuss this in first class."
At the elimination, Sierra was promptly voted out in a five to three vote against Owen, Heather had told Cody she had talked to Blaineley about the vote today.
Cody could not help but cheer at Sierra being announced as eliminated but once he saw the heartbroken look on Sierra's face, he kinda felt bad. Not much he could do about it since she was promptly pushed out of the plane.
After that, Cody anxiously headed to first class and found Heather sitting in the loveseat, silent and neutral. When she noticed Cody, she spoke up, "Don't just stand there. Get over here."
Cody did as he was told and sat next to Heather, mostly so Heather wouldn't be any more annoyed.
"So Cody, as you just revealed to me, you have some feelings for me." Heather recapped sternly before adding, "As much as it annoys me, some part of me feels weird when I'm around you too and I need to experiment these feelings."
"Uh… how so?" Cody asked curiously.
"Like this." Heather said briefly before pulling in Cody for a kiss, much to the geek's shock, Heather was actually kissing him?! No way.
Cody let Heather kiss him and even leaned forward a bit to kiss her himself. Once she was done, Heather shoved Cody back to the loveseat with a starstruck look on his face.
"Yep. I definitely felt something with that kiss." Heather wiped some excess saliva off her mouth, "You definitely did too."
"So… where do we go from here? I mean… I'm already in tight spots with Gwen and Sierra and now I have you in the mix…" Cody began before Heather silenced him again.
"Stop! Gwen's not into you in any way so I doubt that'll be a problem, and you owe Sierra nothing. I definitely liked kissing you and I'll admit that, but given we're still in this game for a million dollars, I might have to play dirty on you so let's pause whatever this is for now before I have to commit to anything serious." Heather said firmly.
"Oh okay. I guess we can do that." Cody decided to go along with it, finding no reason to disagree with Heather's terms.
"Until the game ends, we remain an alliance, after that… we'll see what happens." Heather further explained.
Cody nodded, he may not have a girlfriend and the game would definitely get more complicated but for now, he'll be content with what Heather was laying out.
