-Centuries Ago; Before Disappearance-
Fresh snow had covered the land surrounding the small little village of Airedale. Everyone had been busy preparing for the coming festivities, both humans and Elves alike. Though one girl in particular had been running late for something. Most of the villagers had been nearly knocked over as a familiar young girl riding on a raptor had been rushing down the road heading in a certain direction.
"Prism!" One of the bystanders yelled, "You almost hit us!"
"Sorry!" Prism called out, "Running late today! Make it up to you later, bye!"
She and Adrien made a hard turn as with a shriek he and her nearly hit the ground hard; were it not for the Spirits as they quickly made a snow wall with what they had available.
"Thanks Sweetums!" She said as Adrien regained himself, "Come on bud, we're almost there!"
With a shake, Adrien continued to move forward, until they reached what looked to be a large stone house with a small yet tall tower. Many young teens and children, both humans and elves wearing gray hakama jackets had been entering the building. They chatted with one another as they each carried their own set of weapons.
Most of them noticed Prism as they casually waved hello, as she waved back at them. She soon stopped at the animal pen where different sorts of magical beasts roamed or slept as a familiar few had been lingering. It had been her Familiars and of course… Her own best friend Pluck as he had been keeping his duck Addeline warm.
"Phew!" Prism said as she hopped off of Adrien just as Brenin opened the gate for her so she could bring Adrien inside, "Made it before the first bell!"
"You're very late-" Brenin pointed out, "-Again."
"You're cutting it kind of close there, huh Shortcake?" Liam said.
Prism laughed sheepishly as the Spirits shifted colors, "Sorry, sorry! I ran into a family of rabbits. They were so cute! I had to get them for my sketchbook before they left."
Pluck rolled his eyes before telling her, "Come on, Pri. You know being tardy is against the rules. Just because your mom is in charge of the Warrior's Guild training, doesn't mean you get a free pass."
"I know, I know, but they're so cute Plu-Plu!" Prism said, "You should've seen them, they were so small and fluffy! The mom even let me pet one of them! It felt so soft!"
He told her, giving her a light slap on the head, "One, don't call me Plu-Plu, Dummy girl. Two, that's no excuse. Three, We're teenagers now. You gotta act your age"
"Well that's a nice way to say happy birthday to someone." Prism said with a pout as she rubbed her head.
"Oh yeah, that reminds me!" Saorise said, "Your father is coming tonight right? What's your plans with him?"
"I'm not sure-" Prism replied as she removed Adrien's saddle as she threw a blanket over him, "-He said that's a surprise in his last letter so I can't wait." She soon showed off what looked to be a fluffy kind of bread from her pouch, "And look what mom left me for breakfast!"
The Familiars' eyes seemed to have lit up at the sight.
"What's that?" Brenin asked as he sniffed it.
"It smells-Fruity." Saorise said as her ears flapped slightly.
"I remember her talking about this. She called it Melon Bread." Prism replied, "It's something humans eat in the capital. Right Plu-Plu?"
Pluck replied with a bit of pride in his voice, "Correct!"
"You mean they eat this stuff on a daily basis?" Liam asked.
"I don't think so." Prism replied with a shrug, "You guys want a piece? There's plenty for you!"
"No we shouldn't-" Brenin said, "-It is your birthday breakfast afterall."
"It wouldn't feel right eating it, you know." Liam said.
"Oh don't be silly you guys-" She said with a smile, "-Anything tastes better when your friends are with you!"
Neither of the Familiars couldn't find a retort as they mentally agreed-Literally. Prism broke it equally as she handed them each a piece before eating it. Adrien soon gave her a nudge as he whimpered. "Okay-You too Bud." She said as she broke a piece. He took it from her, with a slurp of his tongue before he happily munched it.
"See you in the noon Adri!" She said before she stepped out of the pen with the others, "Remember to stay warm!"
"Qu-Quack-Qu-Quack-!" Addeline whimpered as she shook.
Pluck said as he put her next to Adrien, letting her crawl underneath the blanket., "I know it's cold Addi, just huddle to Adrien for warmth. Sorry you can't come inside. I'll reward you with a feast later tonight, okay?" he gave a wink as Addi's eyes sparkled.
"QUACK!" As she saluted.
"That's a good girl." Pluck said as he gave her a pat.
Pluck soon stepped out of the pen as he made sure it was locked. Though just as they went to head into the building, they were soon stopped.
"Hey half blood Princess-" A person said. They looked over to see three sets of humans had been wearing the same jacket as they had been, "-Whatcha got there? A bread made out of Beast's crap?"
His friends laughed at this while the Familiars glared, "Good one Vincent!" His friend said with a snort
Pluck said as he rolled his eyes, "Oh great, it's the low IQ's let me guess, failed your exams again?"
Vincent told him with a leer, "Butt out of it, Genius. At least my family didn't marry a peasant."
"It's not made of crap, it's melon bread." Prism replied casually, "My mom told me people eat this as a delicacy in the capital. She made it for me today, since it's my birthday!"
Vincent and his friends looked a bit shocked at this response. "Oh-" Vincent said, "-Well-Happy birthday." It hadn't been long before he had a devious smile, "DIBS!"
Much to their own shock, he swiped the melon bread from her hands as he kept it out of her reach when she tried to grab it. "Hey, give it back!" Prism pleaded.
"No way Half-Blood!" Vincent said, "Only people in the capital can eat this, and you're not from the capital!" He pushed her back causing her to stumble. She would've hit the floor if her Familiars hadn't caught her.
"Give it back to her Vincent!" Liam said as he growled.
"Or what?" Vincent said, "You gonna bite me and get kicked out? Be my guest!"
"Vincinet." Pluck said as his magic soon activated. He had grabbed a hold of a sword made of wood, "Don't make me hurt you."
"Uh-oh! Barbados is mad again!" Vincent teaseed,"Say if we tattle on you, the Clover Kingdom might send your family away!" He teased as he and his friends laughed. "Who knows, the Half-blood could be next!"
"Hey!" A voice soon called out.
The group looked to a young elf, who was fourteen. Though she possessed white hair, her eyes had been that of an orange red color like a flame. She had been wearing a split side tunic that had been dark gray with white linings; she had a set of dark blue trousers underneath with a set of boots with fur lining. She wore a dark blue jacket with fur, held together with what appeared to be a shark's tooth in the middle of the jacket.
Her long white hair had been tied back in a hightail revealing her ears.
"Leave her alone Vince!" The girl said.
"Or what, Arwen?" Vincet said, "You gonna tattle on me too?"
The girl-Arwen, only huffed as she stepped forward, "Oh no-You can just forget about coming to my awesome party on New's Year's day Vince." She soon sighed dramatically just as Vincent flinched, "What a shame-All the best of the best people of Airedale are gonna enjoy the hot springs-Without you, or your little boyfriends."
Vincent only paled at this as his friends looked shocked. They were each processing this information as Arwen had a devious smirk of her own.
"Aw-Geez, Ar, I was just messing around, you know that." Vincent said before he begrudgingly handed the bread back to Prism, "Here Half-Blood." He said with a harsh tone of voice before he walked away along with his friends who had leers of their own.
Prism sighed with relief, before she smiled, "Thanks Arwen."
"Don't worry about it-" Arwen said, "-You just gotta learn how to speak their language, you know? Are you good? He didn't hurt you, right?"
"Yeah." Prism replied as the Spirit's colors brightened, "I'm okay."
"What about you guys?" Arwen asked as she looked at the Familiars and Pluck.
"We're good." Brenin replied.
"Just fine." Liam added.
"Thanks for your help." Saorise said with a smile.
"Thanks..I guess." Pluck said as he turned away.
Just as she had her back turned, Vincent soon got a snowball ready, before dousing it with water making it freeze into ice. "Whoa, Vince-" His friend whispered, "-Isn't that pushing it?!"
"I ain't gonna let that half-blood get the better of me!" Vincent replied in a low voice. He soon aimed it at Prism and right when he was ready to throw, a familiar hand grabbed it as they heard a voice.
"Aren't you guys playing a bit rough?"
They turned to see a young boy with white hair in the form of a bowl cut with eyes that were gold. He wore an orange and indigo shirt with blue-navy pants, hearing a dark cloak as he gripped Vincent's hand.
"Ow! Shinju! Let go!" Vincent cried out as it drew their attention.
"Hmm no. I don;t think i will." Shinju siad. "After all-" he soon cracked his wrist as Vincet let out a scream. "You not only insulted Prism-You messed with MY rival. The OInly person who's allowed to beat Pluck Barbados is me."
"Shinju!" Prism and the Familiars exclaimed.
Pluck only groaned annoyingly as he said with a nonchalant look, "Gee thanks for the save. I REALLY appreciate it."
Vinceint cried in agony as he held his hand with his friends comforting him. Shinju had his glove as a claw appeared. "Now, should I give more punishment?"
"Shinju wait!" Prism said as she quickly went to stop him. When she took his hand, he immediately froze up, "You'll get in trouble with my mom again if you continue." Prism said with worry, "You scared Vincent enough, so please let him go."
Shinju raised an eyebrow as he asked "Why? He deserves this."
"Even so he's still a person. Please Shinju?" Prism said, "We all need to get along, okay?"
Shinju only stammered before he said while letting Vincet go, "Tch, consider that a warning, human."
Vincent nodded as he cried, "MOMMY!" With that he ran off in the opposite direction as his two friends followed like ducklings.
Pluck gave a look as he said. "You know, you didn't have to ACTUALLY break his wrist. It's bad enough that some humans don't trust us."
"It serves that human right-" Shinju said with a click of his tongue, "-For bad mouthing us! He's lucky I didn't break his leg. Plus like i said, only i'm allowed to beat you up. Not them."
Pluck only bonked him with his wooden sword as he said "Only proving my point. Plus, you're looking at two people whose parents are human."
"Plus, once dad and Uncle Lemiel finish with the treaty, then we're gonna have to learn to get along." Prism added before she gave Shinju a pat on the head as it made him freeze up again, "So-Lets be friends with them, okay?"
Shinju clicked his tongue as he said, "Like I have a choice."
"Hey, now-" Arwen soon said with a big smile on her face, "-No need for the gloom and doom people-" She soon hugged Prism suddenly as she was able to lift her up, "-Happy birthday girl!" Prism only laughed as she spun her around; the Spirits looked as excited as she had been as some of them even performed a couple of tricks.
"I can't believe you're already fourteen!" Arwen said excitedly, "Just think, in four years, you're gonna be a Queen! I'm so jealous!"
Prism only laughed sheepishly, "Still on the fence with that whole thing, but thanks."
"How about after training today we go and hit the sights?" Arwen said, "I know a great village that's holding some sort of festival that you'll love!"
Prism flinched as she looked nervous at this, "Outside the village?" She hissed through her teeth, "I don't know-You know what the Elders said. I'm not supposed to leave Airedale for any reason. Not unless I get their permission. And you know they don't like me going on outings, especially if it's in a different village. They're still wary of humans, you know?"
Arwen gave a laugh before she patted her on the shoulders, "Don't worry, they're never gonna know! And we'll have you back home before your dad comes from his castle tonight!"
Before Prism could say anything they could hear the bell go off. "Oh shoot!" Prism said, "First bell! We better get in there, or mom's gonna scold us!" She quickly ran inside the building before she could even answer Arwen's question.
"Eh-" Arwen said with a shrug, "-She'll get around."
The Familiars looked a bit wary as did Pluck; though Shinju looked to have a disappointing look as he said. "Come on, Prism! Why do you still hesitate, it's just one day away from everyday life you know!"
Prism stopped, though she didn't even turn around to answer as she went into the building without saying another word.
(Second Opening Theme: Sunday's Without God Opening-Birth Performed By Kitamura Eri)
-Present; Safehouse-
All had been normal, or at least as normal as it could get around the safehouse. With most of Prism's injuries healed, they were expected to return to the Black Bull Base, once the duration period had been up. Though for now, as instructed by the healing mage, or well in this case Naotoshi, she was asked to take it easy. That hadn't been too hard for her in that case.
She sat at the table in the kitchen as Feodora had been showing her a little trick-With the dice.
"And this-" Feodora said as she tossed the pair of dice on the table, as it landed on seven, "-Is what people call loaded dice. No matter how you throw em, they're always gonna land on seven."
Prism's eyes lit up slightly as she took the dice and dropped them, as they landed on the same number. "Bime i elena, you're right!" Prism said, "Even when I dropped them they still tilted to the number! Humans are really creative."
Theodore who had been on Prism's lap looked intrigued at this, "I want them! I can get away with all sorts of activities!"
"Feo, where did you find them?" Prism asked.
"Find them?" Feodora said, "I made them myself. It wasn't easy, let me tell you!"
Asta had been sitting across from Feodora as he couldn't help but look worried, as Nero who sat on his head only gave her a look "Feo, are you sure this is a good idea?"
"Asta, you and I both know the shorty here is WAY to trusting to strangers like how you are." Feodora said, "If she meets the wrong guy, or girl God forbid, they're gonna scam her out of her money just like that."
"But she is a Princess." He pointed out.
"Yeah, though they're not gonna know that genius." She told him as she flicked his forehead.
"I don't know why my parents were so worried-" Prism said, "-It sounds like this scamming and gambling is pretty fun."
"Well you get money out of it, so there's that." Feodora said.
Pluck soon stepped into the kitchen as he looked like he was ready to cook. At least that was his intention until he saw what exactly they were doing as he gasped in horror.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YA DOING?!" Pluck shouted as it had startled them
"What's it look like?" Feodora said casually, "I'm teaching the shorty here the important stuff like the Captains."
"LIKE GAMBLING?!" Pluck asked. "ARE YOU MAD WOMAN?!"
"Would you rather let some asshole on the street scam her?" Feodora said, "Be my guest."
"Don't worry Plu-Plu-" Prism said with enthusiasm, "-When Feo shows me all she knows, you won't have to worry about my money getting stolen!"
"That's not what I'm worried about." Pluck said with a sigh, "How is this supposed to help exactly!?"
"If you know how to scam then you won't get scammed yourself." Asta said, "At least that's how Feo puts it."
Pluck's jaw dropped as he said, "Who the heck taught you that, your dad?!"
"He did, actually." Feodora replied as she gave him a leer which made him flinch "Got something to say about what he teaches-STUCK-UP?"
"Oh No! Not at all." Pluck said as he shook. "Uhh-HEY! LOOK IS THAT CAPTAIN YAMI?!" Pluck shouted as he noticed Yami stepped into the room. They could see he had been a little more cross than usual, from his expression alone.
"Yami?" Prism said, concerned, "Is everything okay?"
"Oh I'm good, looking to talk to a certain crow boy." Yami said before he noticed their setup, "Quick question: what the hell are you doing?"
"Uhh-" Asta started to say.
"Welp, nice knowing you Feo! I hope all is well with you, can';t say for Feo. Don't die! Okay bye!" Pluck said as he ran, only to bump into a certain someone as they shrieked.
"Ugh...whose lips did I touch?" Pluck asked "and why do I smell lavender?"
Immediately Pluck looked shocked as his face turned red at the sight of a certain young pigtailed girl who looked to be just as red as he had been.
"WHA-WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?!" Noelle shouted as she slapped him, surprising him, "YOU PERVERTED COMMONER!"
"Wow." Yami said as he clapped. "That's one way to get along with Silva, stealing her first kiss. Guess you're not a bachelot an"ymore
"Wait hang o-" Pluck started to say before he had gotten slapped again.
"HOW DARE YOU SNEAK ONE LIKE THAT ON ME BARBADOS!" Noelle shouted. "YOU THOUGHT SOMEONE WHOSE RAISED BY A PEASANT GETS THE CHANCE TO LOCK LIPS WITH THE LIKES OF ME?!"
"If we're being honest, your breath smelled like breakfast." Pluck said with a straight look before he asked Captain Yami. "let me guess ham and steak today?"
"Yep." Yami replied as he took a puff
Noelle only shrieked before she did something Pluck didn't expect; he felt her knee go right in his stomach as he practically gagged.
"Not-Again…" He choked before she stomped away with a huff. "How did she even learn-"
"Smooth one, lover boy." Feodora told him.
"It's Not like that." Pluck groaned.
Yami took a moment to process this, before he shook his head and turned over to the table, "Back to what I was saying-Oh yeah." he suddenly grabbed Feodora and Asta heads as he gripped them tight, "What the hell are you doing?!"
"Ooo! Squeeze them like lemons!" Theodore said in a happy tone as he clapped before his tone immediately switched, "I'm not cleaning up the mess."
Feodora only rolled her eyes as she managed to get out of his grip, "Teaching her something Royals and Nobles don't teach-How to scam so they don't get scammed themselves."
"Since we're probably gonna find ourselves in the capital more often-" Prism said, "-Feo told me this method would prevent my yules from getting stolen by, according to her greedy little moneybags." She soon looked over to Feodora, "I said that right, right?"
"You said it perfectly." Feodora said.
"CAN'T BREAK FREE, SEEING THE LIGHT!" Asta exclaimed.
"Oh sure, scam the rich to survive. That'll be a really valuable lesson." Yami said with a sarcastic tone of voice.
"Your voice sounds funny." Theodore said.
"Hey, it's better than her getting her money stolen." Feodora said, "She's gonna need it considering she's gonna be the Queen you know?"
"Feo, I don't think that's his-YIPE!" Asta exclaimed as he was suddenly dropped.
Yami told Feodora as he gave her a look, "Pretty bold words, Feodora. You realize you are teaching the Princess a bad thing that can get her killed."
"At least I'm teaching her something useful then those lessons she's been getting about being Royalty!" Feodora argued, "I mean, granted, she's gonna need one or two of those, but if she's gonna have any hope of surviving out there she needs a professional with the city's underworld! And that Captain Guldre of yours ain't doing squat about that!"
"Seriously? He's not?" Yami said.
Prism nodded in reply, "Everytime I ask for him when I visit the Purple Orca's some of the members get nervous and tell me the same thing. As far as I know about the criminal system, or the justice system as you guys call it-I got nothing on it."
"Well why didn't you say anything in the first place?!" He asked.
Prism had a nervous look as the Spirits shifted, "You guys are all really busy with missions and paperwork, I didn't want to bother you with it…" She soon bowed her head, ".. Sorry for not speaking up about it sooner."
"See?" Feodora said, "Exactly my point! And with that whole Ashtown biz we went through she needs someone who knows the innerworks of the city, like me."
He soon cleared his throat, "Well regardless of that issue-You can't just go teaching someone in general how to be a criminal!"
"Well it's not like it's forbidden now is it?!" Feodora said in a slightly harsh tone.
"Okay Feo-" Asta said as he patted her back, "-Take deep breaths, let's try not to blow up like you usually do."
Yami only told Feodora, "It still doesn't make it right."
"Well here's food for thought, if you don't know how to scam a person then you're an easy target to people that scam the poor suckers." Feodora said, "Dad-Rest his soul, used to tell me that sort of thing, and it's worked just fine with me so far."
"Well here's another. That can only work for so long. What happens when things don't work out?" Yami asked. "What if it blows up in your face and you find yourself cornered? What would you do then?"
Feodora tried to come up with a counter to his argument, but she soon found herself speechless. Instead she just held her tongue as she put the loaded dice away. "We're done for the day Pri." She said, as she went up the stairs, "Gonna take a bath."
"Feo?" Prism said worried before they heard the door slam shut.
"Uh-" Asta said stunned, "-I never seen Feo act like that before."
"Wait, this is new for you?!" Pluck asked in confusion
"Yeah-" Asta said, "-The only person able to talk her down like that was Yuno. And up until recently Pri. She didn't even start yelling."
"Maybe you went a little too far?" Prism said worryingly.
Yami said while taking a puff, "No she needed to hear that. More importantly-Any of you seen the crow boy? I gotta talk to him about something."
At this the teens looked at one another. "I think he's still in his room." Asta said, "He said he wasn't feeling too well so he didn't want anything to eat."
"I think he caught a cold." Prism said worryingly, "Sachiko said she was gonna look after him."
Pluck said, "Since I'm in charge of food today, I'll get started on the cooking, and whip a dish for Karasu's fever!"
"I see-" Yami said, "-Welp, if you'll excuse me-" He soon turned and much to their shock he went in the direction of Karasu's room.
"Wa-Wait Captain!" Asta said shocked, "Why are you going to Karasu's room?!"
"Like I said, gotta talk to him." He said as it shocked them.
"Bu-But wait!" Prism said as Theodore climbed up on her shoulders, "He self quarantined himself! You'll end up getting sick too!"
"Yeah!" Pluck added. "Plus don't you have some duties today?"
"Relax, I'm not gonna get his disease." Yami said
."STILL-" Pluck said as he stopped him. "-The last thing we need is the whole base sick!"
"Seriously, you worry too much." Yami said.
It hadn't been long before Yami had been in front of Karasu and Sachiko's room, before he started to bang on the door. "Hey Crow Boy!" He shouted, "I know you're awake in there!"
They could hear Karasu groaning through the door.
"Don't come in-" He groaned, "-I'm sick."
"Karasu-Captain Yami said he needs to talk to you!" Asta said, "Do you-Think you can open the door?!"
They could hear Karasu again, "No trust me, you don't want to come in."
"Is this because of your stupid bad luck again?" Yami asked.
"No seriously, please don't come in."
Yami had a look before he just kicked down the door, surprising them. Inside the room he found Karasu burrowed beneath the covers as Sachiko had been at his bedside, with Shiromori wrapped around her neck like a scarf. There looked to be two buckets; one filled with water and the other-Well let's just say there was a faint smell.
"He broke the door again didn't he?" They could hear Karasu speak underneath the blankets; his voice had been muffled.
"He did." Sachiko said.
Yami stepped over to the bed as he said, "Rise and shine"
"Can't-" Karasu groaned, as they could see the blankets move, "-Not feeling too good…"
"Ewww-" Theodore said, "-What's that smell?"
"Karasu-Have you been throwing up?" Prism asked as she had been covering her nose with the others.
They could hear him moan in agony, "Let's just say my stomach has been going through things for the past couple of days… And it finally reached its limit…."
"Oh my gosh!" Asta exclaimed, "Is it food poisoning?! Or you swallowing that key?!"
"He swallowed a what?!" Pluck shouted.
Karasu finally poked his head out of the covers as they noted how tired he looked. "I don't know-" He said, "-But one thing I do know is, this didn't let me sleep a wink last ni-" Before Karasu could finish, he started to gag before he scrambled for the bucket; Immediately what followed afterwards was the sounds of him throwing up.
Most of them had cringed at this before he finally stopped; as his face planted on the pillow.
Pluck had said, "okay so a light meal then."
"Well Cap-" Karasu said with his face still in the pillow, "-Since your here, and from the sound of it-Mad, you might as well just say what you're mad about this time…"
Yami told him while taking a puff, "A little something was brought to my attention recently by Finral. You were asking a certain someone for a favor. Avalon, was it?"
"Yeah-" Karasu said, "-What of it?"
Yami tells him, "I know you've been giving her your pay. Wanna tell me what that's about."
Karasu nearly fell out of the bed at this as he looked over to Yami with shock. "Okay-" He said as he groaned, "-I was hoping you wouldn't find out about that. I have a perfectly good explanation for that."
"You've been paying your friend?" Asta said surprised.
Pluck said shocked, "all this time?!
"Like I said-I didn't think he'd find out." Karasu said.
Yami had told him, "well I did."
"Listen, it's not what you think." He said, "I'm not bribing her or playing dirty."
"It doesn't matter." He told him, "You've been having her making withdrawals, illegal withdrawals I should point out since you started getting your pay, and just recently they caught your little friend making a withdrawal from your account that was double then what she usually takes."
"Account?" Prism said.
"He's talking about a bank." Asta said.
Prism and even Theodore spiraled into more confusion at this. "What's a bank?" Prism asked.
"Can we eat it?" Theodore asked with a curiou tone of voice.
"What is it with you and eating things?!" Asta exclaimed.
Pluck rolled his eyes before he told her, "It's a place humans store their money and or other valuable items. We were all given accounts when we were made Magic Knights."
"We actually have those?!" Prism said shocked.
"You arrested Avalon?!" Karasu said, shocked, "For just taking out money under my name?!"
Yami told him, "Hey, it's the law, kid. More importantly-" He soon smacked Karasu on the head, surprising him and the others, "What you did was extremely stupiud. You realize they could have arrested you too?"
Karasu could feel his bandaged arm throb as he quickly grabbed his wrist; he took a deep breath to keep himself calm. "Look-Regardless of what you think of thieves, you don't understand how hard life's been for us. The underworlds are not kind to people like me, and they're especially not kind to children like my sister." The look on his face changed, at the thought, "I've seen what happens to them, and trust me-I really wish I could do more for them."
"That's still no excuse!" Yami shouted. "There are legal ways you could've gone around it!"
"And if I waited that long, her family would've already been dead!" Karasu soon said as the term took him and the others back. Sachiko's look softened as she knew what her brother was talking about.
"Aniki-" Sachiko said, "-What happened wasn't your fault."
"Karasu?" Prism said as she noticed the look on his face changed, "What is she talking about?"
Karasu could feel the agony in his arm intensify before he spoke up again, "Avalon and I-Or specifically me… Did something stupid. Sachiko had gotten really sick and I needed to get medicine for her. We thought-By taking a golden statue from a Royal we could sell it back to him with triple the amount of its normal price. In the scuffle, the statue broke-Erin and Blaise who were with me at the time ended up abandoning us. But even after we were caught he didn't turn us into the Magic Knights. Instead Avalon took the fall and said it was her idea."
His hands started to shake at the mere thought of it all "Because of that-She ended up getting in debt to that Nobleman… even though he had all the money he could ever hope for. After I became a Magic Knight I told her-I would help her pay the debt by letting her take half of my pay. But she couldn't pay it all since her other siblings kept getting sick. She used the money she took to pay for Healing Mages and herbs for them. Because of that the Nobleman-"
Karasu only groaned in annoyance at this, "She wouldn't even be in that position if it wasn't for me! That's what happens to people that are around me for too long… My Magic ends up spreading like a disease…"
"Karasu-" Prism said as she patted his shoulder; the Spirits shifted into a blue color, "-I had no idea you went through so much."
"That isn't true-" Asta soon said as it had shocked the young former thief, "-We've been working with each other for months and, you haven't caused any bad luck like that. I mean if it wasn't for you all those times we were in danger, I don't know what we'd do."
"Nani?" Karasu said stunned before he was smacked on the head again by Yami which had startled him.
Yami soon told him, "You see you idiot, it wasn't your bad luck after all. I mean I'm still here, am I? And so are your squadmates."
Karasu looked at his teammate all who were smiling at him before-
"Shit." Karasu soon said as he felt his stomach gurgle. He quickly grabbed the bucket before he started to throw up again which made them cringe a little.
"I'll get the medicine right away..." Pluck said as he rushed down the stairs.
"And-" Prism said, "-Maybe we should change the bucket?"
"Yeah…" He groaned, "... Good idea…"
Prism soon took the bucket after tying the red bend over her nose. Though before she went to step out of the room Karasu noticed a warm look on her face as it took him back again. "Karasu-" She soon said, "-You're a lot braver than you think."
Karasu could only smile at this sort of thing before Prism left the room.
Taking the bucket of bile outside she tossed it in a plastic bag and took it over to the trash bin that had been along the curb of the safehouse. All the while she had worn a red scarf above her head to hide her ears. She removed the band from her mouth and nose as she let out a breath of relief.
"I never knew Karasu went through all of that…" She said to herself, "... To think that happened while I was asleep."
Prism couldn't help but have a thought, "I wonder-Maybe I can meet Karasu's friend and see if I can help her." She laughed to herself, "Yami might scold me a little but-"
RING.
Prism had been taken back by the sound of a soft bell-A church bell or at least that's what she thought. Though she knew it couldn't be a church bell seeing as how the house hadn't been near any sort of place. The rings continued all around her as if she had been in an enclosed space.
"That sound-" Prism said as she couldn't help but recall, "-It's just like, from the Dare Games we played…"
The ringing sound came again as her head had gotten fuzzy.
"Where is it coming from?"
When the rings came again-She heard a voice.
"Prism…"
At that point, Prism didn't seem to realize it-She could feel her head had gone blank at the sound of the voice. She didn't even seem to realize that she had dropped the item she had been holding.
The voice called out again.
"Prism… Can you hear me…? Come to me."
Prism's eyes shifted to white as she started to go towards the gate before reaching for the lock.
"Prism-" The voice said, "-Come home to us."
"...Home…" She spoke softly, as her body shook when she had her hand on the lock, "... Got to… Go… Home…." With a turn the lock on the gate clicked open. Though right when she could step outside-
"Princess."
Prism seemed to have snapped out of it with a gasp as she immediately pulled her hand back and looked confused. Though she seemed to have lost it when she realized a familiar voice had called out to her.
"Oh, Marx!" She said as she saw Marx had approached.
"I can see your condition has improved since the last time we saw each other." He said, "I'm glad."
"Ye-yeah!" Prism said as she had been doing her best to regain her composure, "Thanks! I'm glad too!" She soon had a thought come over her, "That's weird-Wasn't I just doing something before?"
"Is everything alright?" Marx asked.
Prism immediately snapped out of it, "Ye-Yeah!" She said, "Not that I'm happy to see you, but, what are you doing here?"
"Two things-" Marx replied. "Have you seen the Wizard King? He was not at his desk this morning.
"He wandered off again?" Prism said a bit shocked.
She could see Marx's eye twitch slightly as he replied, "Good guess.."
Prism only laughed sheepishly at this, as she couldn't help but think, "I guess anyone would want to avoid the paperwork when they're the Wizard King. Though do I feel bad for Marx."
"Though it's good that I ran into you-" Marx soon said, as Prism had been taken back by this, "-I have something to give you."
Prism looked confused at this, "Something to give?"
Marx soon stepped towards her till he had been just across from her on the gate. "I know it's not exactly tradition, but given the circumstances we learn to make exceptions. I do apologize for it, it was a bit of a rushed job."
"Um that's okay." Prism replied, before she thought, "Though I don't get what he's talking about. I wonder what it could be."
It hadn't been long before she felt something placed in her hand; when she looked down she saw it had been… A medal in a glass casing that had been that of bronze. Not only that, but it seemed like it came with a badge as well as it looked like it had the Black Bulls insignia though it had been a different color which was of gold.
"Um-" Prism said confused, "-What's this for?"
"It's what we call a promotion." Marx replied, "Didn't Captain Yami tell you?"
Prism only tilted her head, "Tell me what?"
Marx only sighed as he facepalmed himself, "Of course he didn't tell you." He soon started to explain, "You see, while being a part of the Magic Knight squads, you'll earn a different ranking and class. It's to represent how stronger you've gotten and how you better yourself as a person."
Prism had been taken back by this, "A ranking and class? That's a thing among the Magic Knights?"
Marx nodded, "I know you don't necessarily need it, given your status as a Princess, but Julius has felt you have earned this, after the hard work you've done since your time in the Black Bulls. As of this moment because you yourself earned ten stars-You are now an intermediate Knight in the third class."
Prism had been taken back by this. She could almost swear, her head had just exploded. In-Intermediate-?" Prism said, shocked.
"Normally we would've given this to you at the Ceremony, though since we don't want you to be exposed to any danger, this will have to settle as a close second." Marx said, with a smile, "Congratulations your highness."
"Ye-Yeah, thanks I guess!" Prism said, before she looked confused as it seemed to have hit her, "Wait-Ceremony?"
Marx soon explained it to her, "Each year whenever a magic knight's actions have been heard from the Wizard King himself, they are rewarded in our ceremony. For your safety, sadly, you can not attend."
"What?!" Prism said shocked, "But-"
"I'm sorry, but it's the Wizard King's orders." He said, "We can't afford to lose you." He soon went to take his leave, "For your own safety, your highness, please remain here."
With that said Marx went to continue his search for Julius as Prism just stood there in complete shock. She looked to the medal and pin as she had been trying to process what had just occurred.
About an hour passed as most of the group had been a bit shocked when Prism just locked herself in her room. Most of them had been worried seeing as how she had decided to skip out on lunch. All they knew was she had been cooped up in her room. The Triple A's, Asta, Pluck, Feodora, Jubei and Vandy stood at her door. Theodore had been riding along Asta's shoulder while Nero still sat on his head.
"Do you think she's not feeling well again?" Jubei asked.
"She had a whole tower of pancakes this morning without any trouble, so it's hard for her to stay sick." Aidan said.
"Unless that's what made her sick in the first place." Feodora said.
"Prism!" Aisling said as she knocked on the door, "Prism come on, you gotta eat something!"
"Don't feel like it-" Prism called out in her room, "-Theo can have it."
"Oooh, more for me!" Theodore said as he wagged his tail as he went to hop off.
"Hang on there little guy!" Feodora said as she caught him by the scruff.
"But-It's your favorite dish!" Asta said, "Are you sure you're feeling okay?"
"Ye-Yeah, I just don't feel like eating that's all." Prism responded, "I don't mind if Theo has my share."
Asta couldn't help but have a worrisome look, "I wonder what's wrong now?"
"Hey-" They heard a familiar voice say. The group looked over to see it had been the Familiars as they had heard all the commotion. Liam had been the one to speak up, "What's going on here?"
"Prism's started acting weird again." Vandy said.
"She sort of locked herself in and didn't have lunch." Aine said, "And it's potato soup for lunch today, with Pluck's special ingredient and everything."
"Hey!" Juebi said, "You guys can read her-"
"For the hundredth time-" Brenin said, "-The three of us agreed we wouldn't make reading her thoughts a daily thing."
"It's considered rude, you know?" Saorise said.
"I'm still surprised you can do that to begin with." Asta said.
"A perk of being a Familiar." Brenin said, "Though we don't read her thoughts all the time."
Asta's eyes soon sparkled a little, as it made them jump, "Does that mean the same applies for Pri too?"
"Of course you'd want to know that detail." Liam said as he shoved him away.
"Anyway-" Saorise said as her ears flopped slightly, "-Do you want us to see what's troubling her?"
"If you would-" The Triple A's said as they bowed their heads.
"Feo and I will go with you, if you don't mind." Asta said.
"Sounds fair." Brenin said before he went to the door first, "Though I think it's best if we do the talking for now."
"How come?" Feodora asked, puzzled, "It shouldn't matter if it's us right?"
Brenin sighed, "I guess, but just in case-"
Brenin soon went to knock on the door, but noticed it had yawned open a little which they were a bit surprised at. When they peeked into the room, they found that Prism wasn't in the bed, but rather on the floor, wrapped up like she was a burrito; the spirits lingered on top of it while Adrien was curled up beside her.
"Oh boy-She left town." Brenin mumbled softly.
"Yup." Saorise and Liam said.
"Huh?" Asta, Feodora and Theodore said, confused, seeing as how Prism had been sitting right in front of them.
"Hey Prism?" Saorise said.
"Prism's not here-" They heard Prism say underneath the covers, "-She left for who knows where land for an extended vacation."
"Is she going to come back from her vacation?" Liam asked.
They could only hear whimper as they saw she shook her head. "I don't really-" Asta said, trying to process what he had been seeing.
"Is she pretending to be a ghost?" Theodore asked.
"It's just what Prism does when she's really upset about something." Saorise whispered, "Hence the whole-Leaving town thing."
Asta and Feodora had gotten the idea as it seemed to have clicked. It hadn't been long before they heard the sound of rushing footsteps before-
"PRISM'S WHAT!?"
"Oh good, it's the Stuck Up." Feodora said as Asta had been holding onto her since he was startled. Neither of his siblings were surprised that he had his face on the floor, since he tripped.
Pluck immediately recovered as he said as his nose looked bruised, "WHERE'S PRI?! WHAT HAPPENED TO HER! WHO TEASED HER?"
"Uh-Under the blankets?" Asta said awkwardly.
"And we're trying to figure that out." Liam said, "Wait, why would you think teasing?!"
"No reason" Pluck said as he dusted himself. He soon stepped over to the bundle of blankets before saying, "Prism, come on, get out from under there!"
Prism only reached out from under the bundle of blankets before grabbing the deer plush Louis from the bed, pulling it under. Pluck however remained undeterred, "Come on Pri, you gotta get up, you know Captain Yami hates anyone who's in bed all day."
"She's not in the bed." Theodore said in a monotone voice.
"Missing the point." Pluck told him
They could only see the blankets move slightly, like she had been adjusting herself. Asta soon sighed he had gotten an idea. "Well if you're not gonna come out-" Asta said before the group was surprised when he crawled underneath the blankets, "-I'm coming in!"
Much to their surprise, Asta went under the covers with ease. "And of course he would use that approach." Feodora said as she shook her head.
"Man, talk about confidence." Aine said.
Pluck had said shocked, "Ye-Yeah, did he do this back in Hage?"
"Where do you think he got the idea?" Feodora replied smugly.
Asta managed to sit himself next to Prism as had just been sitting with her legs crossed, while hugging Louis. "Pri?" Asta said, "You want to tell us what's on your mind?"
Prism didn't say anything as some of the spirits shifted to a light blue color. "I can tell you're upset-" Asta said, "-Do you need to talk?"
Prism only sighed as she hugged Louis a bit tighter, "Well…" She started to say, "... I'm kind of avoiding the Captains right now."
"You're avoiding them?" He said.
"Did they do something to upset ya?" She heard Feodora say.
"Well no-Not exactly." Prism replied as she leaned against Asta, causing his face to turn red a little, "It's a-Bit complicated."
"Re-Really?" Asta stammered, trying his best to not lose his composure, "What happened?"
Prism sighed again, "Marx-Came by."
"Marx?" Asta said, before it hit him, "Oh, that's right you said he was the Wizard King's Advisor. Did he update you on something?"
"It's not that-" She said, "-It's just-He gave me a medal and a badge. He told me that I'm now a third class intermediate Knight."
At this, Pluck and the Triple A's nearly fainted out of shock. "THIRD CLASS INTERMEDIATE KNIGHT?!" The Triple A's exclaimed.
"BIME I ELENA, PLUCK DIDN'T GET THAT RANK TILL AFTER 9 MONTHS WE STAYED WITH THE BLACK BULLS!" Vandy shouted, "YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU GOT YOURS THAT QUICK!?"
"Well don't forget, Prism is the top in the Warrior Guild!." Jubei said, "Though it's still shocking, since you haven't been here that long!"
Pluck had said in disbelief, "I can't believe it..Pri out of all people.."
"Ranking? Class?" Feodora said, "What's the shorty talking about?"
"Yeah, I'm confused." Brenin said.
"Get in line." Saorise and Liam said.
"I bet it'll be disappointing." Theodore said.
"Uh-Hello?!" Aidan said, "It's the representation of a Magic Knight and how they moved up at the top of the food chain!"
"It's to show how strong you've gotten! And each ranking you get just shows how your stronger then you were before!" Aine said.
"Why do you think we got Yami as a Captain?" Aisling said.
"Huh-It's that big of a deal." Feodora said.
"What class and rank are you?" Liam asked Pluck.
"First Class Intermediate Knight." Pluck replied, nonchalantly causing Feodora to nearly faint.
"Ah-That makes sense." Saorise said.
"It is Pluck after all." Brenin said.
"Nerd." Liam said with a look. .
Pluck gave him a look back as he said, "Shut it, you."
"INTERMEDIATE?! FIRST RANK?!" Asta screeched, making the group jump as he has stars in his eyes, as he got himself out from the blankets, "WOW PLUCK! YOu'RE AMAZING!"
"Oh stop it, you're making me blush." Pluck said as he turned red. "Though that does mean I'm one rank higher than the Stupid Silva so that's a plus."
"And there it is." Liam said as his eyes rolled.
"Well you don't have to show off." Theodore said.
"Oh, don't boast, it's gonna make me gag." Feodora said with a nonchalant look.
Pluck raised his fist towards her as he said, "Hey! I have every right to do so! Try reaching my level and THEN we'll talk!"
"That sounds like a competition." Feodora said, "I'll accept."
It hadn't been long before it soon hit the Siblings. "Wait a second that doesn't make any sense!" Aisling said.
"What do you mean?" Saorise said.
"I mean-Marx doesn't just go handing out a medal and giving titles just like that." Aidan said, "I mean-All the Captains gather, you'd be with your comrade in arms and then there's a feast where you get to celebrate with your frie-"
It seemed to have hit the siblings again as their looks softened. The Familiars, Feodora, and Asta had gotten it as well as they looked to Prism; their expressions had softened as it had been obvious why she was upset in the first place.
Finally Prism removed herself from underneath the blankets though she still kept them wrapped around as she now sat on her knees.
"... I-Honestly expected it to be some kind of honor among the Knights." Prism said, "Back home, when you become someone of my level, there's a celebration. Everyone comes together to congratulate your success on how far you've gotten. Family and friends alike." She tightened the grip on the plush slightly, "The Elders never liked me going anywhere outside of the Village, and my mom and dad always worried for my safety. But little stuff like that, made me-As crazy as it sounds, made me feel like a normal person. I didn't think I'd feel like that again, until after the time I spent in Hage."
She soon set aside her plush as she soon took out the medal and pin she had gotten from Marx, "I thought-When I'd get something like this, I could be there with all of you like everyone else. So I can at least feel normal without anyone calling me 'Your Highness' or 'Majesty'. I've even gotten used to other people calling me Primrose."
They could see her hand started shaking as some of the spirits turned into a rageful color. "But just because I'm the Princess-Because I'm the only hope the Kingdom has-I feel like I've been given a handicapped. I mean-I feel honored about this of course, but-I just-Don't feel right about accepting it just like this!"
Much to their shock Prism just tossed the casing and pin across the room, as it went thump on the wall; it had been a miracle the pin and casing of the medal didn't break on impact. She buried her face in her knees as she brought the blankets over her.
Finally Feodora spoke up.
"They pulled a jerk move on you." Feodora said as he went over and picked up the medal and pin, "I get why you're so pissed. I'd feel like that too if they just suddenly told me, I had to stay put like a good girl. Trust me, I know what that's like—Alla, my aunts and grandfather which I'd rather not get into detail about. But an honor is an honor. It's something you can't exactly toss away."
"I know it's supposed to be for my safety-But I wanted to be with you guys!" Prism said, "I wanted to be with the Captains! I'm just as value as everyone else!"
"And you are-" Asta said as he placed his hand over hers, "-Believe me you are! You've done so much for us and for everyone else! And honestly I'm just as mad as you are, that everyone else won't be able to acknowledge that."
Pluck added, "Trust us, we're all mad, Pri. INFURIATED EVEN. THEY SAW YOUR HARD WORK AND THEY JUST BRUSH IT OFF LIKE THAT?! HOW?!" He soon let out a sigh as he said "But even so, you can't be mad at them like that. They're just worried about you-Uncle Zeid named you his sole successor. And even after five centuries the Captains, even Julius, are even willing to acknowledge that for everyone's sake. For your own sake, even with the fact you're not entirely a human."
"But that doesn't change that I'm the Princess." Prism said, sounding a bit harsh in her tone.
"Yeah-It doesn't." Brenin said, "But hey, having the title doesn't mean that's all you're going to be to us, and them."
"He's right-" Saorise added, "-You're a proud Warrior of the Guild and a pretty amazing Magic Knight."
"If they can't see that from you-" Liam said, "-Then it sucks to be them. Because, you're pretty damn amazing in my book Shortcake."
"Yeah because to us." Pluck added. "You're our Prism. And nothing will change that."
Some of the Spirits seemed to have returned to a shade of blue, as they saw Prism had been saddened again.; some even had started to cry "But…" She soon said, "... When I'm eighteen… I'll go from being a Princess to a Queen… That means… I won't get days like this with all of you."
Most of the group had been taken back by this, though they weren't surprised that had been her thought. "... I won't forfeit my title… But I won't get opportunities like this anymore when I'm following in dad's footsteps. I-Wanted to spend the time I had… With all of you… Even… If it was just a moment…"
They could see her body shake as all the Sprits started to weep. "Oh no, Pretty Lady-" Theodore said as his eyes went to a neutral grey, before he went to hug her ankle, "-Please don't cry."
"Pri-" Asta said, before he gave her a hug, "-Everything… Is going to be okay. We'll-Figure this out."
"He's right Lizard girl."
Most of them had been startled at the sight of Yami at the doorway; so much in fact that the younger siblings jumped back in surprise and hid behind Pluck.
"UNCLE YAMI, WHY MUST YOU DO THAT?!" Vandy shouted.
"How long did you stand there for?" Pluck said.
"Better question is how much did you hear?" Liam asked.
"I heard enough." Yami replied before he stepped into the room, "Hey Lizard Girl, Any reason why you are avoiding us like the plague?"
"N-No reason." Prism said as she managed to push herself away from Asta; they could see she suddenly looked embarrassed, "I'm not hiding anything, there's nothing eating me inside! Gotta leave town!" Just like that, Prism wrapped herself in the blankets as she had been a bundle again.
"Oh come on!" Pluck said, "We just got you out of that!"
"Prism-" Asta said as he tugged on the blankets a little, "-Come on, you can just tell Yami what's wrong, okay?"
"N-No, that's fine! Besides, Prism is out of town!" Prism soon said with a whimper.
"Don't be silly, you're right here!" Theodore said as he pulled on the sheets, "Come on Pretty Lady, come out!"
Yami groaned as he asked, "again with that?" He soon pulled the sheets off of Prism, surprising her with a shriek, "You can't keep sheltering yourself forever, Prism. I thought we went over this already"
"I-Wasn't hiding?" Prism said sheepishly.
Yami only gave her a look before he kneeled and started to pinch her cheek causing her to cry out in agony; most of the group looked shocked by this.
"OWOWOWOW, NOT AGAIN!" Prism exclaimed as she flailed her arms.
"Let's go." Yami told her before he took her out of the room, "We're having a talk."
"IS HE KIDNAPPING HER AGAIN?!" Vandy and Jubei shouted.
Pluck sighed as he said, "For some reason, I'm used to this by now."
"But by the cheek though!?" Saorise said.
"That damn human, I'm gonna kill him later." Liam said with a growl.
"Where is he even taking her too?" Asta said, petrified.
"Don't know." Feodora replied, "More importantly, shouldn't we do something about this?"
"I'm gonna help the Pretty Lady!" Theodore said before he let out a squeal of some kind as he rushed out the door. "Aww!" Aisling said, with a kitten-like smile, "That sounds SO cute!"
"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" Asta said.
Yami kicked the door down in the study room before Prism found herself being lifted and put into a chair. "Ow, ow, my cheek-" Prisms said as she rubbed it, "-Why do you pinch so hard?!"
"Don't ask." Yami told her before he kicked the doors shut. She flinched slightly as she heard the lock click.
"Uh-" Prism said, "-Why did you lock the door?"
"Why else?" Yami said before sitting down. "We're gonna have a chat like they said. Now then, what's really on your mind, kid. And no beating around the bush either."
"Um-" Prism started to say as some of the spirits looked nervous, "-I well-"
"I'm listening, kid." Yami told her.
Prism started to shake as she shook vigorously at this point as she started to sweat. "Why is it this hard to say something?!" Prism couldn't help but think, "On the one hand Yami should be easy to talk to since he listens to all sorts of problems, but something like this shouldn't be troubling right?!" She couldn't but groan mentally, "I wish I could just disappear right now!"
Almost immediately after she had that thought, a silver portal opened up beneath the chair she sat on, as she almost fell in; At least it would've been that way, if Yami didn't catch her by the neck of her shirt. They noticed a butterfly that had glowed a white color had been the cause of the portal itself. It fluttered towards Prism till it landed on her nose as its wings became transparent.
"I-Guess they responded to what I was thinking?" Prism said awkwardly.
"...I did say No beating around the bush." Yami said as an aura emitted from his body making Prism shirek; the butterfly disappeared in a flash, "And I'm not letting you leave this room, until you speak your mind."
Prism only gulped at this as she had a look of defeat. Some of the Spirits had a nervous look again. Yami soon set her down on the couch provided as she looked to the floor. "Yami-" Prism soon said as she twiddled her thumbs, "-Hypothetically speaking, when we go back to the base, would you let me still do missions as a Knight-Despite the potential danger I would put myself in?"
"What kind of answer is that?" Yami asked. "Of course I would. Just because you're the princess doesn't mean you're exempt. You're a member of the Black Bulls after all. And you made that your personal request the first day you came with them, so I'm treating you like everyone else."
"Then-" She soon said, "-Shouldn't it be the same everywhere I go? Shouldn't I-Have the right to be treated like a normal person, even when I'm the Queen?"
"Of course." Yami said, taking a seat by her, "Is that what's bothering you?"
"Because I can't go to the award ceremony and get a medal like a Magic Knight." She said, "Marx told me I couldn't because of my safety. I understand why but-" She gritted her clenched her fist a little, "-I know he means well but it just makes me frustrated that it's just my title! I don't know how much longer I'm going to have this sort of freedom and I wanted to-Ow!"
Prism placed her hands over left eye as she felt something run down her cheek. Brushing some of it away, she realized it had been blood.
"A-Again?" She said shocked.
Yami sighed before he took a piece of cloth on the table and handed it to her, "Here. Don't go busting up a vein thinking about it."
Prism took the cloth as she wiped the blood away before sighing, "What am I going to do when I run out of days like this? I don't want to forget about any of you."
"All you gotta do is make them count." Yami told her, "Afterall when you're Queen, you have a big responsibility to uphold. You gotta make that time to make your dad proud."
Prism only whimpered at this sort of thing before she had tears, "You don't really mean that do you? That's really mean!"
"What are you talking about?" Yami asked, shocking her, "I was just messing with you."
"HUH!?" Prism exclaimed before she started to hit him, making Yami laugh, "You big meanie! You bully! You're a bully and a jerk!"
"Good to have you back, kid." Yami said as he ruffled her hair making Prism pout despite her tears. "Though-" He soon said, "-In all seriousness, you're starting to think too much about this situation. I wouldn't think about it too much."
Prism only sighed, "But I've been given the title as a Princess since the day I was born. Even though I don't know if I'm a suitable job as Queen, I still want to help my dad, and uncle Lemiel. Funny thing is, I used to think my dad's job was easy when he made his time to come back home to spend it with mom and I. But now that he's not here anymore-I can see why he was under a lot of pressure."
"Well-Maybe your old man found a way to balance out his work and his own personal needs." Yami said. Prism only looked confused at this sort of thing.
Yami soon sat back as he clarified, "In other words, your father was more balanced than you think. Obviously I don't have little rugrats running around, but I know how much a man or woman can love their family. Zeid, from what I can tell, was no exception to that." He soon placed his hand on her shoulder as he brought her in for a hug, "Your dad loved you and mother so much, that he was willing to put his work aside to spend his time with you both. Hell, if I met the man, I would be buddies with him in an instant. You can do whatever you set your mind to, kid, Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
Prism couldn't help but give a small smile, "... I know my dad would've liked you too. It would be the same with mom." Her look softened slightly at a certain thought, "Do you-Really think I can make it work… Like dad did?"
Yami nodded, "You'll find your own way to make it work Lizard Girl. Though next time-" He soon gave her a smack on the back of her head, "-Don't try to avoid us, you got us all worked up. Even the beanpole and you know how he is. He basically stormed off to clear his head."
"Jack got worried too?" Prism asked, shocked before she looked worried, "That means training is gonna be twice as hard."
Yami told her as he took a puff, "Good guess."
Prism only slumped over on the couch, "Great… I still won't be able to go to the ceremony… And I get extra training… What a day I'm gonna have today."
Yami only sighed before he gave her a pat on the head, "How about this Lizard Girl-" He soon said, "-When I come back here, we have our own little celebration on your promotion."
"Really?" She asked as her eyes brightened a little.
"Yeah-" He said to her, "-Just because you can't be there, doesn't mean you don't have your own celebration."
At this Yami was a bit shocked when Prism hugged him; the spirits shifted into bright colors as they gathered around her and him. Despite the slight hesitation, he ended up hugging her back. Prism only smiled as she couldn't help but be brought to tears at this .
"... Thank you Yami…" She said, "... I really am blessed…" Prism only changed as a thought came over her again. Yami didn't seem to realize a spirit that rested on her wrist started to mix with the color of blue.
