Immunity / Reward Challenge

Day 17

"Come on in!"

The Foka enter first, looking for a second win in the swap phase.

Tremor: Another day, another challenge. The time for demolition has come.

Then like clockwork, the six Tatu enter, all of them wearing palm frond dresses. Kano's just puzzled at the sight. "So we're wearing costumes now.." Toriel doesn't mind. "I think it's cute."

"You think everything's cute."

"You aren't." Kabal can't help but snicker at the remark. His closest ally got dissed, but even he has to respect someone insulting him. Kano could be a bit much sometimes, especially when drunk. But, the Foka tribe aren't just drunks. They are strong and looking to send Tatu back.

Once the six Tatu get on their colored mat, Jeff introduces them. "Get a look at the new Tatu tribe, Kristine voted out last Tribal Council." It's not that much of a shock for anyone, but it's bad news for one alliance, and someone has something to say about it.

Kabal: We aren't living in paradise anymore. If one domino's down, it's only a matter of time until the others fall.

Before the host gets to the challenge, he has to get through a certain reward first. "Before we begin Foka, you need to sit someone out. Take a moment to decide." The seven get together, and it's pretty obvious who out of the group needs to sit out.

"Let's sit the dee out." Kano suggests.

"Can't we give him a chance?" Toriel asks, sticking up for him.

"He's small. We need height for this." The kombatant responds, but before the waddle dee can defend himself, a coach cuts in. "GUYS, we don't need this right now. Are we here to break up and lose? Or stick together and win?" Matt's question shuts everyone up…

..except for Bandana Dee. "..I'll sit out if it helps us." With that confirmation, the Foka break apart and face Jeff again. "I'll sit out." the waddle dee says, heading to the sit out bench for the first time in Fiji. He understands WHY he was sent, but it still didn't feel good.

Bandana Dee: The tribes strong, but…Kano took two seconds and pointed the finger at me. He already called me a PET, but if he's that quick to sit me out, then I'm insulted! I can hold my own, I'm not some kid!

"Alright. Immunity's back up for grabs. Today's challenge will be played in three matchups. Two members of each tribe will be paired up and go head to head with the other tribes pair. The goal is to grab a ring hanging on a pole, and get it to your tribe. Each win is a point. The first tribe to get two points wins immunity and a sweet reward." Jeff explains. Speaking of the reward…

"Wanna know what you're playin' for?" An overwhelming YES! "The winning tribe…gets a free meal ON A YACHT. Plus, if you didn't get enough beverages, there will be champagne, a soda machine, and for dessert: an ice cream machine. This is the best reward of the season, and you'll have to wait until tomorrow," Jeff says, and from the sounds of it…it is enticing. Hunger will be cured, and one tribe will get a break from the game.

"I'll give you a minute to prepare, and we'll get started."

Matchups:

#1: Sonic and Little Mac vs. Kabal and Tremor

#2: Gordon and Luigi vs. Toriel and Li Mei

#3: Blu and Monty vs. Kano and Matt

#1– Sonic and Little Mac vs. Kabal and Tremor

The first two to go on each tribe are ready, NO palm frond dresses on like Blu promised. It would slow them in the water.

"Survivors ready?"

"GO!"

The four dash off to get that ring. Sonic and Kabal are front runners, getting through the water in no time! Tremor, being heavier, lags behind a bit, while Mac does his best to keep up with his teammate.

Sonic gets to the ring first, but as he grabs it he feels a weight on the other side! Kabal's tugging the circle, and they jockey for control pulling back and forth!

"It's looking like a stalemate..until your team shows up!"

Mac wraps himself around Kabal, pushing the ring his allies way! Sonic snatches it away, but Kabal's able to shove Mac off and chase him. The boxer goes to grab Kabal again, but gets lifted by Tremor!

He's THROWN UP into the air and crashes down!

"OH!" Dee shouts, not seeing this strength in quite some time.

"C'mon Mac.." Matt mutters. Despite being on different tribes, he still cares about a Roku's health. Team Dad.

Meanwhile Sonic picks up the speed but Kabal grabs the ring again! The hedgehog sprays water in is face! His grip slips once and the hedgehog takes off again, getting closer to the Tatu mat. Tremor goes towards that action, but Tremor sees him coming, scoops him up, and slams him into the water!

"It's over." Kano says, estimating the boxer's shot at winning this battle.

Kabal goes for one last dive at the ring..but it's too late!

"Sonic walks on water, scoring the first point for Tatu!"

Tremor still has a hold of Mac, but shoves him off to swim back to his tribe. Mac swims back to the water, but doesn't look happy in the slightest. He got ragdolled. He knew it. Tremor knew EXACTLY what he was doing.

Tremor: For a little man, he's such a squirmer. Nevertheless, he still fell to me.

Once Mac swims back to the Tatu, it's not without support. "Keep your head up, we all have bad days." Gordon says. "I'll be fine. Maybe it's an ego thing.." Mac says, hanging his head down. Sonic pats him on the back. "It happens to the best of us! Besides, distracting Tremor helped get us the point!"

Right he was. Could they lock it up early?

#2– Gordon and Luigi vs. Toriel and Li Mei

It's time for round two. Three of the Fatu Four were going to clash, but it's more of a handicap.

"Match point for Tatu. Survivors ready?"

"GO!"

The four take off for the ring, with Li Mei upfront. She's the first to get the ring, but Luigi jumps her and tries to wrestle the ring away! The chef goes to help his ally, but Toriel holds him back! She wrestles him away from the ring, and turns her back to the tribes. They didn't need to hear any of this.

"Kano, Kabal, and Tremor are the targets.." Toriel whispers, letting the chef know some valuable information. "If you can hold on for two more votes—" she's cut off when Gordon starts kicking at the water. Is he actually trying to break free? Or is it just a distraction.

"Two more votes, and you're safe." Toriel says. The Black Dragon was in a bad way now, but after letting a Tatu know about their threat level? It may get even worse.

The two pretend to struggle with each other, but nobody's really paying attention to that because Mei is getting close to the Tatu match, Luigi's force not being enough.

"You can do it Luigi!" Mac shouts.

"Block her!" Sonic shouts, and gets a look from Mac. "Don't reveal the strategy dude."

The plumber takes his advice and swims infront of Mei, trying to send that ring back to the pole which it came. He almost LIFTS her off the ground, but Mei smacks Luigi in the head with the ring!

"YEAH!" Kano shouts. "That's our girl!"

"Bad day for Tatu." Kabal comments.

That gets the plumber off and Mei reaches the end!

"Tatu gets mopped, Foka gets on the board, and we're all tied up!

Mei and Luigi swim over to their respective tribes, and one gets a confessional.

Li Mei: Luigi may have courage for blocking me, but that doesn't mean he has a killer instinct. He went down like paper.

After that mopping, Blu and Monty step forward. "It's up to us. Ready to check them?" The mole asks, and the blue Yoshi smiles, a vendetta as her opponent. "I'm ready to check SOMEONE.."

#3– Blu and Monty vs. Kano and Matt

The two teams look at the ring ahead, a ring for all the marbles. Kano spits into the water, and draws the ire of the Yoshi he burned. "Why the long face?" He knew damn well why.

Blu goes to spit, but a tiny trial of saliva hits the water. Failure.

"This decides the challenge! Survivors ready?"

"GO!"

The teams take off, with the water holding the Tatu back. Their short statures are a de-buff. Kano and Matt reach the ring first, and work together to drag it their way for a second win in a row.

The mole has other plans, as he starts pulling the mii away from the ring, to stunt Foka momentum. Kano's still open, and the Yoshi decides to strike! She blocks his view, one hand over his eyes, and the other on the ring.

Unfortunately for them, Matt lifts Monty like a fireman, and dumps the mole onto his back! He joins the struggle by tugging the ring away from Blu. It's two against one, and a certain assassin takes liberties and tugs on Blu's tail, dragging her away from the ring!

"That's dirty!" Dee shouts.

"Anything goes." Tremor responds.

That move allows for Matt to have no problem bringing the ring back to Foka, and scoring for the tribe!

"FOKA WINS IMMUNITY!"

"YEEEEAH!" Kano shouts, raising his arms in victory. "THAT'S what we do!"

A confessional cuts into the celebration (rare).

Kano: She went for me eyes first.

He clicks his tongue.

Kano: Seems like someone's bitter.

He and Matt regroup with Foka, the seven able to relish in another win. The losing tribe though? No relish meant. When the Mario characters get to their Tatu tribe, there's just empty compliments.

"We did our best…"

Four empty words. Doing their best in this case, wasn't good enough. But, there was more to look forward to, because they have another date at Tribal Council.

"Congratulations Foka, you will board a yacht tomorrow and enjoy the festivities. Head back to camp, enjoy your reward." the seven depart from the challenge area, and all the focus goes to the losers. "Tatu…I've got nothin' for ya, except another Tribal Council where you will vote another player out. Head back to camp, I'll see you tonight."

The six Tatu make the trip back to camp, with one castaway summing up their thoughts.

Luigi: The only reward Tatu ever gets, is a fat pile of losses, and misery.

His stomach grumbles.

Luigi: ..I'm dyin' out here.

Tatu

Day 17

The six Tatu enter camp, another loss on their belt. It hasn't been an easy swap, especially for a tribe with competitors like Sonic and Mac on there.

"We'll come back next time. People have survived worse." Sonic says, even though he's frustrated himself, the last thing he needs at this time is for morale to go down the drain.

"Well we'll see when we die of hunger.." Luigi responds, getting eyes from everyone. "Keep your head up. We're so close to a merge…" the Yoshi says, not up for this negativity.

One boxer looks on, already past the hunger talk. It was the strategy eating him up. He looks at any pockets and pouches he can find, until he sees a lump in Gordon's pocket..

..he knew.

Little Mac: Losing doesn't upset me, it motivates me to try harder next time. Just like with the next vote. Ever since I hit Roku, I've been overruled time and time again. On the bottom, call me Charlie Brown. I'm DONE letting it happen! I'll need some good cover, but lucky for me, my "ally" jumped the gun, and my "enemy" has an idol.

The hedgehog wastes no time working on the Yoshi at camp. After Gordon spoke with her, he needs to "clear up" the chef's "lie."

"Did Gordon lie to you?" he asks, and the Yoshi confirms their conversation. "He said you're using me as a decoy…is THAT true?"

"I wouldn't throw you under the bus, after saving you. He's lying. People on the bottom are the most desperate people I've ever met." He responds, putting her at ease..kind of.

"If he has to go, let's just get rid of him." The target's being drawn around Gordon's back, even though he's telling the truth. Perception is someone's reality, it doesn't matter if it's true or not. For Blu, Gordon was a snake. Sonic got to her first, which was a massive advantage.

"I know Luigi's being a debbie downer, but we'll take him out next time." Sonic says, noting her failure to encourage him just a few minutes earlier.

"Anything to get back on our feet…"

Sonic's work on Blu has got her on the Roku side. However, one person in the alliance has plans of their own..

Mac. He approaches the two he's known the longest, Sonic and Monty, to attempt a wrench throw.

"I know we're locked in on Gordon, but what if he has an idol?" The boxer asks, adding a complication to their plan. "Eh, we'll just vote Luigi instead. Like the kid but he's just an easy vote." Monty says, dismissing the plumber.

"Operation Flush-The-Idol's going into effect. If he has some scheme, we aren't going to let him get away scot-free. Keeping a Fatu at this point would make me a dummy." Sonic says, turning to his taller ally. "Love your idea, Mac."

"I'll do whatever to get a Fatu out." Monty says, affirming his approval of the plan.

"Great. All we need is Blu. You got her?" Mac asks the hedgehog. "She's basically another Roku. She doesn't trust Gordon at all."

"Awesome. Let's get it done."

Little Mac: We could split the votes and send a Fatu home regardless..but that would ruin my whole plan to fight Roku in the shadows. I'm not their soldier, I'm my own player, and this players says he needs Fatu around.

In confession, Sonic's chopping a coconut.

Sonic: We could swipe Luigi, but keeping that chef doesn't make me feel good at all. But if he has a toy in the forest, we gotta flush it no matter what! We always merge at eleven anyways, and the odds are we'll lose three in a row. So we can still stop him from merging.

While two and a half Roku have their own plans, Mac's scrambling to continue his own: by hitting up the two Fatu.

"I know we haven't been on the right foot lately, but that doesn't mean I can't help you." Mac says, ready for a proposition.

"You're not lying to us?" Gordon asks.

"I'm on the bottom of that alliance, if you guys leave I'm screwed." Mac confesses, aware of his spot at the start of the game.

"Well what do you have that can help us?"

"Advice. IF you have an idol, you should play it tonight…for him." Mac says, pointing to the green man. "They're trying to flush it, if you play it for you, he's going home and you have nothing." That reveal doesn't put Luigi at ease. "Ohhh…." he says, gulping afterwards. "That's not fun."

"Might not be fun, but fun's not the priority." Gordon says, giving his piece. "I'll play this on whoever if it means we can live another day."

"Sounds like a plan." Mac says, turning to leave but stopping himself. "One more thing: we'll have to snipe someone."

"Who?"

While he goes to reveal, a Gordon confessional airs.

Gordon: I don't trust anyone in Roku. For all I know, Mac's going to sell me out and flush the idol. But, if he's actually on the bottom, what does he have to lose? A golden star?

We still don't get to hear who he suggests, because another confession comes in.

Luigi: This is THE most important night of the Fatu. If Gordon plays that idol correctly, it's-a tale of survival! But if he doesn't…it's over for the Fatu Four. We won't stand a chance!

The two Fatu have alone time to discuss what's going down. One wrong play, and it could be over.

"If he's giving us hints we have to move! With a purpose!" Luigi exclaims, backing the boxer. The chef's not so quick to. "He could be playing double agent. We tell him who it's played on, they vote for the other guy, we go down the drain." he argues, not fully convinced.

"He has nothing to lose." Luigi argues, but the chef's still not convinced. "Do we want to just buy it though? He could be twisting the truth. He's a smart guy." The chef comments, aware of how Mac could be a threat.

"Well he HANDED US a name on a silver platter! We just gotta hope we don't screw up!" Luigi snaps back, taking a stand. He IS in danger tonight so it's better he does.

"If we do, then I'll see you at Ponderosa." Gordon says.

"We could use a break from the game anyways…"

It's a make or break decision for the Fatu. If Gordon plays it wrong, Luigi's alone and will need a clutch find. If Gordon plays it for himself, Luigi could go and he's all alone. For all we know, if one Fatu's left alone, they'll sell Mac out just to survive and this blows up in his face.

So this shot is a must-hit. It's looking grim…but can they change the tone?

Tribal Council

Night 17

The six Tatu head to six stumps, a fire pit in front of it, and Jeff Probst standing there with his hands behind his back. The second Tatu Tribal Council is in session, and since the last Tribal, new targets have been painted on, and new alliances have been made.

Welcome back. Dip your torches into the fire. Fire represents your life, and once it's gone, so are you."

The Tatu dip their torches and get seated, for yet another Tribal.

"Alright. It's your second time around, and I have to ask: Mac. Last time everyone seemed like they were on the same page, but now that the obvious target's gone, what's next?" Jeff asks.

"Everyone's being pretty careful around camp. Everyone's in on either one fake plan, or one real plan. Whoever gets blindsided tonight, was in on the fake one." Mac says, getting eyes from the Fatu.

"So while we're talking about plans..Blu, you got heated with Kristine a few days ago. Did you feel like a target was on your back after that confrontation?" Jeff asks.

"After Tribal I thought people would have looked at me WORSE…but the next day we're all getting along! They got why I went after her, and it was all good from there." The Yoshi responds.

"Monty, everyone seems like they're at ease. Do you think someone's getting a blindside tonight? Or has everyone agreed on a consensus boot? Because in this game, someone's usually left in the dark." Jeff asks.

"Well Jeff I'd say that plans can change any time. There's only six people here, nowhere to run or hide. One tiny detail changes everything." Monty responds, but the host gives him a dirty look. "You are great at saying absolutely nothing."

The sass! "I wasn't gonna spoil anything Jeff. I'm a loyal mole, but I wouldn't tell the truth to my enemies." Monty's not taking that though.

"Enemies?"

"Like I said, I'm not gonna say anything."

The hosts hands plop down on his leg. "Luigi, can you give us your input?" he asks, ready to get an answer from someone.

"All I know is that there's one person people want out. If it's me? Then I'm the sorry guy left out." The hero responds, and after that…Sonic gives a quick hand gesture to Blu. It's just too fast to catch, so Jeff doesn't focus on it.

"We'll see who's left out, because it is time to vote. Mac, you're up first."

The fighter gets to his feet and heads for the booth.

Little Mac: Sticking to the plan. (?)

Sonic: Thought you could fool us. You're too slow. (?)

Gordon: My idol's not getting flushed tonight. If you people have one, it's gonna be yours. (?)

The six Tatu head back to their stumps after the voting is finished. When they're all set, Jeff's ready to get on with the Tribal. "I'll tally the votes…"

While he fetches the voting urn, the chef and hedgehog watch him travel. Then, the camera zooms in on Mac looking on. Would his play work?

Jeff returns to the podium with his urn in hand. "If anyone has a hidden immunity idol or advantage, and would like to play it, now would be the time to do so…" all eyes fall on a certain chef, who looks around at his tribe. Then, he makes his play.

"Jeff…"

Gordon leaves his stump and pulls the idol out of his pocket. "Some people think they can pull a fast one on me. Then I realized I wasn't the target at all. I'm playing this for Luigi." Jeff takes the idol, and it's official.

Luigi literally jumps off his stump. "YES! THANK-A YOU GOD!" Gordon returns to the stump, and Luigi thanks him as they sit down. It may be good news for Fatu.

"Alright. I'll read the votes…" Jeff says, removing the lid and pulling out six pieces of parchment. An idol's in play, so it may be a wrench in the plans.

"First vote…"

— Luigi, will not count.

Luigi grabs the chef's shoulder. "You're a god!"

— Luigi, will not count.

Sonic facepalms, the plan to flush blowing up in his face. Mac just keeps a poker face on, knowing exactly how the vote's going.

— Luigi, will not count..

— Luigi, will not count..

What a blowup for the Roku majority. Jeff flips the fifth parchment, and any name could be on there..

Jeff flips the fifth piece of parchment..

"Sixth person voted out of Survivor: Fight for Fiji…Monty Mole. Bring me your torch."

The mole gasps, and turns to Sonic.

"Why me?"

"I don't know!"

#Blindside

Blu's just puzzled. She taps Mac on the shoulder. "What happened?" she asks, and Mac bites a lip, "They got us."

The mole grabs his torch and heads to Jeff, setting it down and awaiting the snuff.

"Monty, the tribe has spoken."

SNUFF….

"Time for you to go."

The mole leaves the Tribal area, no words for his former cast mates. Once he's out of view, Jeff focuses on the remaining five Tatu, with some final words for them.

"It's never too early for a blindside in this game. Head back to camp, good night." With that dismissal, the five Tatu grab their torches and leave the Tribal Council area. Three knew exactly wha went on at Tribal, while two would need some serious explaining…

Monty's Final Words

Monty: I dunno WHY i was the target…maybe they thought Sonic and Mac were gonna help the tribe, or Blu's hate for those douches on Foka would help, but uhhh, I'm just lost. They got us this time, but next time they gotta be careful.

That could have easily been turned around on Mac, but luckily Gordon and Luigi took the cards they have, and used them right, taking out a non-threat in Monty to snipe any idols on the Roku side.

Sonic takes his first L of the season. Sure he convinced Blu to join the Roku, but Mac conspired against him, and allowed the FaTwo to get the jump on him by taking out who would be a Ride or Die for him and Matt.

With that being said, the next three chapters will feature the culmination of a battle! But on which tribe? PLUS, another Season 4 cast announcement! Have a great one, Ticket out.
