Tatu
Day 19
Yesterday was a nice chill day for the five Fatu, a breather of their own. However, they still have a challenge ahead of them and business to attend to.
The two OG Roku of the tribe and their Yoshi ally depart from the two Fatu who made a big move, to lay out the plan next.
"It sucks they had to do Monty like that, but that's the game. We need to know where we go from here." Mac says, but the hedgehog has an easy plan. "Easy! Just vote for Gordon this time. He risked his life, and yeah, I respect it, but we're not allies right now." he pitches, but his allies don't agree.
"He HAS to know he's in trouble." Blu guesses. "I mean it's so nice to use the idol on someone, but at what cost?"
"I still haven't found the Tatu idol and I've looked far and wide. If we can't find the idol, he could have used it." Sonic says, trying to narrow who has the idol down. "But I saw him around camp a lot so he couldn't have found it THAT easy, soooo: he found it on his old beach." The hedgehog's correct.
"Then we have to find the Tatu quicker than they do." Mac suggests, and one blue ally's on board with him. "Quick's in my namesake. We got this!" While the plans set in motion, the Yoshi of the group has her own take.
Blu: I've just accepted that anything can change out here. One day we're bonding over a sport, and the next we're at each others throats! People have a weird way of bonding…
Later that day, while Sonic and Blu go idol hunting…Mac goes to his other place of information, Gordon and Luigi. Before any alliance is made official though, the chef wants to make sure he's all in and not doing a long-con.
"The three of us can work, you just need to hold up your end of this deal." he says, and the boxer reassured him again. "I'll hold it tight because flipping on you guys is such a bad move. Why would I go BACK to an alliance I'm on the bottom of?"
"You would never hear the end of it."
"You get it." Mac says, brushing past the internet hate topic, because after all: there's more to cover.
"At this point it's a matter of 'when' we go back," Gordon predicts, "so if strength doesn't work out, we'll have to kick Sonic to the curb. He's fun to have around but he came for us, so we can't just let it go." That's when Luigi cuts in and makes his voice heard. "Guys, they're probably after the idol over here. We can't let them get back at us!"
"No chance, we'll get it first. There's three of us and two of them." Gordon reassures, but the plumber's not hearing it. "..one of them is literally the quickest on the beach."
"Then we only have one person to worry about."
The Fatu turn to Mac. "Did he call for a search party?" Gordon asks, and the boxer decides..screw it, he'll just confirm what they already think. "Yeah, he also said you found the Fatu idol, which actually made sense." Mac admits. "Just another reason to take him out."
Mac seems devoted to the Fatu, but they still have reason to be suspicious. While he's working with them now, he could always turn later, just like a lot of cutthroat players. What the chef and plumber didn't know, was how cutthroat he actually is. He has a good reason to betray the Roku, but could he stick to his word?
Gordon: We'd let Mac vote with them and pretend he's a Faithful IF my neck wasn't on the line. But now it is, there's nowhere to hide. If he flips back, it's MY $$ gone, and HIS $$ he makes a fool out of.
Foka
Day 19
After the sweet reward yesterday, the Foka tribe's refreshed and ready to go for another round of strategy. Some have smaller scale plans in mind, but two people specifically have a bigger plan, that may spell doom for someone.
Toriel and Matt are on the walking path. As the leaders of their tribes, they needed a gameplan they could get back to their allies.
"If we can get all our people together..it's over for them. They got nowhere to hide." The Mii suggests, looking for a dominant superpower to kick the merge off. The goat's not opposed at all. "Not to sound rash…but sticking together is a guaranteed defeat for them all. It's the eight of us against the three of them."
"They're smart. We can still get outta the woods if we slip up, but they can block the exit if they get far enough." Matt responds.
"That is silly of me." The goat says with a smile. "Don't want our heads in the clouds already."
"We gotta keep 'em down if we want to stay safe."
Toriel: I have a perfect set of people with me. Bandana Dee is such a kind, loyal soul, Matt's great for talking strategy with, Li Mei doesn't cause any trouble, and my fellow Fatu are hopefully still in this. On paper the eight should still be able to work, but Matt's correct to say we must tread carefully, for we don't know what tricks are up their sleeve.
A power alliance of four Roku and four Fatu…if those devious Black Dragon can't find a way out, it's over.
Speaking of them, two members, specifically Kano and Kabal, are on the walking path. As far as they knew, deals were in place with the Roku and Fatu. However, there was also the possibility that they're getting duped. From the looks of it, they are.
Luckily for them, there may be a way out. Kabal has one hand in his pocket, and it's too obvious for his ally to just skip over it.
"You never pocket your hands. Whaddya got in there?" Kano asks.
"Oh this?"
Kabal pulls a HIDDEN IMMUNITY IDOL OUT! No build up, no struggle, just THAT sudden. Kano has a smile on his face. "I'm so glad you applied." Kabal pockets the idol so nobody can call them on it. "Me too." That just poses more questions from his ally. "Where'd you find her?"
"Toka beach. After Red left, I sped through the woods. Easier than I thought it would be." Kabal with the extra flex at the end. "Atta boy."
"All we need is Tremor to know and we can play this smart."
Kabal: That talk with Tremor on the yacht's stuck with me, because he basically said he needs to trust us more. And Trem?
He pulls out the idol.
Kabal: How about this?
Later, Kabal's advice is taken, as he and Kano meet up with Tremor. The immunity idol is there for him to see.
"This is our key out incase of a rebellion." Tremor says, having confidence in the idol's abilities. The gruffest one of the group's also confident…
..very confident.
"No time like the present to weed 'em out." Kano, what are you planning? "Call me nutty but the last time we threw a challenge it worked."
"For the love of the elder gods.." (Kabal)
"THIS time, it can." The group's silent for a few seconds, before Tremor breaks it. "Tempting fate can lead to the deadliest of consequences." Kano brushes it off. "Ok let's say they're against us, and we come into this merger. It's gonna be eight against three, and they've got all their people. We might as well cut one of them down for size."
"We could also throw, misplay the idol, and then be in a WORSE spot." Kabal fights back. "You can only throw so many times before it comes back to haunt you."
"We could take out someone with influence, like a Matt, or a Toriel. We could take out someone who doesn't like us, like a Dee…"
"You called him a Pet that mistake's on you." Tremor points out.
"I called him a Pet because it's true. He always follows Toriel around." Kano points back. "That's besides the point mate, we can take someone out and help us later. It's not causing the apocalypse if we throw." He eyes Kabal. "And we have our advantages. If they go four to three, we can fight back. Like the underdogs."
Some would think Kano's an unlikeable underdog in the situation (just ask the Cage family). BUT, he's not the only one with a good argument. All sides have good arguments. Kano's all for throwing to take out a big threat, while the other two are hesitant about it biting them, specifically Kabal. Then again, both went with throwing it last time..AND this time they have advantages. They aren't Kano followers, but is throwing AGAIN actually worth it?
"We are going to be targets either way. In the end the decision doesn't affect much." Tremor says, willing to tempt fate at the realization.
"Cool." Kano responds, turning to Kabal. "What about you Kabs?"
Kano: Sometimes deals fall through. If that's the case, two dragons are ready to drown us in fire. Instead of waiting for the fight, we gotta take it to them and cut a head off right now. If we're always going to be targets like Tremor says, then we have to cut their numbers now.
Although their backup plan's in motion, deals still had to be attended to. Kano though, is going to link certain details in all the plans.
First, he meets with Matt on the Roku side of deals, involving you guessed it: a challenge throw.
"If we throw it now, we can keep the strong people together and cut some Fatu." Kano pitches. They look like the weakest tribe by far." Wow, no regard for the feelings of weak people worldwide.
"You still got Kabal and Tremor?"
"Always, you can count on us." Kano replies, extending a hand. "Let's shake on it." The Mii takes his hand and the two have the most tense handshake ever seen with a Mortal Kombat character.
"Let's do it." Surely Matt won't throw…
Next, he meets with Toriel on the Fatu side of the deal.
"I know some people here are about honor and integrity, but it won't work if Roku's got five people over us. If we can make a throw happen, we can cut one out and have less on our plates." Kano says, making the Roku Tribe look like the big bads.
"It's a smart strategy. Addition by subtraction."
"Adding the shot for us and subtracting it for them."
"Yes..that's what I meant."
Thanks for explaining what she already knew. Kano doesn't care though and just extends his hand. "Let's shake on it."
"Gladly."
That's the second hand shake of the day from the assassin.
Kano: I'm in on two handshake deals with the people that matter. If these people are double dealing? All bets are off.
The people that matter? Come on Kano.
Elsewhere on the beach, Bandana Dee is eating some rice alone. He's not alone for long though because Li Mei takes a seat next to him. Kano's been talking to people all day, but now: he's the topic of conversation.
"Has Kano been rubbing you the wrong way?" she asks, opening up a can of worms. "He's not just rubbing me the wrong way, he's treating me the wrong way…" the waddle dee admits, getting her concern.
"Don't let him get in your head. He's just a little man with a brash personality." she says, taking a shot at Kano's masculinity. "The more he's in your head, the easier it is for him to get by."
"I try not too, but he's just so mean for no reason. What's his deal?" The waddle dee asks, and Mei continues the comforting. "I understand where you're coming from. We've never spoken about game on any way, all the information I get comes through Matt."
"It's Toriel for me."
"Exactly. Neither of us feel great about him either. He views others higher than we are because we don't want to stand on the frontlines." Mei responds, pinning down the reason Kano ignores them.
"I don't like it..why can't he just treat us like everyone else? There's a jury, don't you want to make SOME friends?" The waddle dee asks.
"Some people cannot be changed."
Li Mei: Dee is the softest one at this camp. That's not meant to be negative, but he needs to learn that loyalty and friendship isn't everything in this world. That's coming from myself, who prefers to be loyal to my allies. It is not a clean game, and bullying can seep into the game as well.
Bandana Dee: Everyone can't be nice, i get it, but for the first time…I've been around someone who's just a bad person. The um.."threats" in our world are after every waddle dee, but Kano just singles people out. Why does he do this? How does he have any friends?
Money and power.
Alright so Kano's reputation on Foka is getting worse by the day. Now he's pitching a challenge throw to ALL parties based on flimsy deals. This could either be a risky gamble that works out again, or a devastating blow to someone's game.
As for developments on Tatu, Little Mac went from the bottom of Roku, only kept around for strength, to being at the center of the Tatu tribe. If the merge was at final ten, he could do some damage. He still could, depending on how the challenge goes.
Have a great day, Ticket out!
