Merged Tribe (Fatu camp)

Day 25

Little Mac, Sonic, Gordon, Luigi, Blu, Matt, Li Mei, Bandana Dee, Kano, Kabal, and Tremor

It's a cloudy day on the islands of Fiji. There's no Sun to be heard of, hibernating for a day. Despite how gloomy it looks though, there's always a way to have fun that doesn't involve starving yourself or complaining.

A hot, new, never-been done sport hits Fiji: Racing. Sonic and Kabal stand behind a line in the sand. Across from them, is Blu, waving a palm frond around. Next to her of course, is the "finish" line. The rest of the castaways are getting ready to watch a race for their viewing pleasure.

Matt's playing the role of Jeff, wearing a black cap on his head. "This is the first race in a best of three. Bragging rights on the line! It would be embarrassing for all this talk to end in a shutout." The Mii says as the hedgehog and kombatant kneel down, like sweats about to run track.

"Survivors ready?"

"RACE!"

They take off, in this battle. Both have been compared to the Flash when it comes to speed, but only one could prevail.

"Give him hell!" Kano shouts, supporting his old friend.

"You got this!" Mac shouts, encouraging the hedgehog.

At first, it's close, with the two practically side by side. They are the quickest in their respective franchises, but there can only be one winner. Sonic thrusts himself forward to get the lead. Knowing he's in second, Kabal reaches down and grabs a clump of sand. He hurls it his direction and the hedgehog's temporarily blinded!

"Oh come on…" Mac says. "Playing dirty in a race?"

"Anything goes mate."

Kano: I knew he was cookin' that up. When you join the clan, there's no such thing as playing clean. Playing dirty's our lifestyle. If you aren't cheating you aren't trying.

Kabal takes the lead, pulling one over on the hedgehog. In his sight, is the finish line. Victory is in his grasp, it comes down to if he can get there in time.

As he speeds ahead, the blue blur gets back on his feet and takes off..but not in a straight line. When he catches up again, he goes low...and cuts him by the knees! Kabal hits the sand!

"I mean..it's not fair, but he has a right to retaliate." Mac admits.

With his opposition down, Sonic speeds to the finish, and passes the lines! Blu waves the palm frond around, signaling the finish! Kabal races through the line second, and comes to a stop right in front of his opponent. Before he can even get a word out, he's cut off.

"You know, if you didn't play dirty, I wouldn't have right?" Sonic asks, defending himself. "Nobody said anything about rules." Kabal responds.

"Even though you cheated…two Sonic, zero Kabal." The Hedgehog boasts, resting an arm on his shoulder. "If you want any tips, you can always stop by Mobius. I'm a sucker for teaching people to be the best speedster they can be!"

"If I could run faster than you, my problems would be over." It's hard to catch someone fast in Mortal Kombat. He could deliver a massive combo if his opponents even blink once. Who knows how he'd do against the likes of Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, and Shinnok. He could be unstoppable, and the people today wouldn't even know it.

Or he could get whacked early. What an anticlimactic way that'd be to go.

Kabal: I'm not curling into a ball because Sonic beat me twice. I need to focus. He needs to go down now more than ever, because if I fail to win the challenge, there will only be a sole survivor in the group.

Sonic: I never thought it'd me my job to save Fiji from an immunity run, but I should have seen it coming. Every time someone's in danger, they always call me to fix the job. I'm a hero for them, and I have to be a hero for these people too.

After the race, a few spectators get together to discuss what they just saw: A Yoshi and a waddle dee. The sand, and the tripping wasn't just ignored.

"It was a race and they still got dirty. How does that happen?" Blu asks, and the waddle dee has an answer. "They're pretty competitive. It wasn't a blindside to me."

"Throwing sand though? Tripping someone's not cool either but he could have blinded Sonic." Blu says, venting about her number 2 enemy. "Yeah…at least he got back up. If Kabal got him evacuated the fans would send him so much hate mail." The waddle dee responds.

"Well…if he gets hate mail it's on him."

"You really don't like them, do you?"

Come on, Dee. You know the answer.

"I liked Kabal more, but after that? No."

Bandana Dee: It got rough out there. It doesn't matter who hit who first, it doesn't look good on either of them. But nobody wants to go after Sonic this time, so people will blame Kabal because he's in trouble. Blu's doing this, but I must be missing the part where she hates his guts for the Red vote.

The waddle dee takes his notice of Blu, to his Italian friend.

"I know that both of them played dirty, but she was really biased against Kabal. Any time I mentioned that Sonic didn't need to retaliate, she just brushed it off." Dee says, spilling it to his ally.

"Well she's been glued to the Roku ever since Sonic lied about us." Luigi notes, with a nervous chuckle. "Yay…"

"Let's just hope it works out."

"Hope? What a funny word that is."

The waddle dee stops him in his tracks. "It's not just six of us anymore. It's ten. Don't freak out."

"No problem, freaking out's my M.O!"

Bandana Dee: When we started, we didn't have to make our "reads" on people like Gordon says, but now..I'm starting to see who's with who, without needing to ask! Blu's not leaving Roku, and I should have known this since she wanted to vote off my friends!

Later that day, the winner of said race is onscreen with his number one Mii, and the head of the FaThree: Gordon. He said he'd be a hero for the other castaways, but that would require being on the same page as the chef. It's been a rocky relationship.

Besides that though, the previous Tribal gave everyone concerns.

"Kano's sinking morale. I've seen places with morale in the ground, and it's depressing." Gordon says, calling back to the Luigi situation. "Luigi doesn't deserve to be compared to his brother, that's toxic. Dee's the sweetest person I know out here, yet Kano digs into him too. At first I wanted to do Kabal, but if Kano's open..I'm going to take that shot." He admits, putting his relationships first.

"He's not cool, but that just means he can't win a jury." Sonic predicts. "And..it's like you said Gordon: Kabal's the bigger threat." True, he did say that. "I said that, but I've changed my mind. To tell you the truth, Sonic: He's been beaten once, he'll be beat again." The chef replies, using Sonic's immunity win as an argument.

"I mean…you're not wrong."

Gordon: I need Kabal in to stop Sonic from an immunity run. Simple as that. But it's not easy to keep him when people are actually making good arguments. Kabal could still win a jury with time. He's not made the remarks Kano has. But my choice still stands, and I'm not budging on this.

The hedgehog has another point about splitting most of the votes on Kabal…and the race that happened earlier? Doesn't help his chances. "He showed me he'll play dirty to get immunity. If he can use SAND as a weapon, imagine what he can do with a whole set around him!" He explains.

"Jeff wasn't here."

"Doesn't matter if he wasn't, he's so quick he can pull anything! Trust me, I've dealt with my share of rivals."

The Mii jumps in to talk. "If we can't come to an agreement now, we can get our people and try this again." he says, and the chef is the first to reply: "we'll need a second try."

Matt: Ever since they started beefin', these two can't just agree on an easy plan. Five on one, three on the other, and the order doesn't matter because EVERYONE'S gunning for them any way. I swear, these two are just stubborn "alpha's" so Coach Matt's back in action.

After that talk, Sonic pulls Matt aside to vent on Chef Ramsay's stubbornness.

"Kabal's a bigger threat in every way. Is he trying to sabotage us?" The hedgehog asks.

"He thinks your holding a grudge. I'm not trying to defend him, but it's easy to see why. Nobody likes Sand-to-the-Eye." The Mii says, trying to be the mediator.

"It's not..JUST a grudge. When he's not throwing a challenge away he's always consistent. You don't have to be the strongest or smartest to go on a run, as long as you can keep up every single time." Sonic vents, showing Matt what he's really concerned about.

"It's still eight against two. If you and Gordon can get on the same page and stay there for a minute, everything's gonna be ok." The Mii responds.

"It WILL be ok. Just not now."

"Hang in there."

"I always do."

Merged Tribe

Night 25

The moon's out like a light, and so is everyone else…almost everyone.

Kano leaves the shelter and heads out into the forest. It was for his own safety in the game, and he didn't care if he lost sleep or not. Sleep is for the weak.

Kano: I don't need sleep. Going out as a pick-off is not a fate I deserve.

He searches along the walking path, and the trees nearby. No luck for him.

"No dice." Kano comments, as he continues his search across the island. This was going to take a while to say the least.

Kano: These people make you earn your advantages. I've spent years looking here and STILL haven't found it. F*ck me man.

After a while of searching, the crime leader has a giant stick in hand, coming across a tree. By itself. Just sitting there. This was a weird spot to have a tree, but it's been on other seasons before (like Redemption Island).

Kano doesn't say a word and starts poking at the branches, desperate for something, ANYTHING to hit the ground…

..a brown package drops into the grass below! Kano hurries and pockets it.

Kano: "Congratulations, you've found the hidden immunity idol."

He folds the paper in half.

Kano: Held up my end of the bargain. All he needs to do is hold up his.

Another advantage has been added to Kano's collection! That's one Black Dragon safe, and now the other has a heavy burden on his shoulders. Also, Dee's fully realized how close Blu is to the Roku. That little threesome may be interrupted as the FaThree realize the threat that they pose.

Sucks for Kabal. First he chokes the last immunity to Sonic, now he loses a race. His poor ego. Speaking of the hedgehog, he and Gordon are having trouble cooperating…again. Matt tried to bring them together for an easy split, but they have different ideas about where this should go. Gordon wants Kabal around to target Sonic later, but the hedgehog getting uncomfortable keeping Kabal in the game. Yikes…

Some interesting reads were also made: Kano knows Sonic and Gordon are enemies, and that Mac and Mei are pretty much in the middle. To think, if he and Kabal weren't big targets they could be in that spot while Roku and Fatu collide. But, they're still the easy ones to target right now.

Next chapter, you know the drill. Have a great one, Ticket out.
