Chapter 16: Issei Dreamland
Issei laid on a flowery felid the emerald green grass made a new bed for him to relax. Only a couple of feet away was a great blue ocean. The sound of the tide peacefully breezed around him. Issei stared deeply into the night sky thinking how his well-being, it was not too long ago that sleep had become his number one enemy. The constant horrible night terrors were gone but he could always feel her presence within himself. That fallen angel took a piece of his heart and he wish he could get it back. Issei was now lost in an unknown world away from all that he knew.
Issei took a long sigh and hugged himself in the fetal position. He looked to the night horizon as tears began to leak from his eyes. He needed to cry, he needed to let it out. All of this could have been avoided if he told the truth to Rias but no he couldn't because he was afraid to speak his feelings. Issei wonder what was the point, he was so lost it all looked hopeless, he felt so angry and sad but he couldn't figure out a way his head was jumbled with confusing thoughts. Issei may have beaten the curse but that still didn't cure his trauma. He knew that giving up wasn't an opposition.
"I need help." Issei mutter quietly. He let the words soak in as he shut his eyes tight. The sound of rushing water tried to comfort him but had no avail. He wished that Angron was here, he felt alone as silence was the only language spoken at this instant.
The world around Issei was still here as he waited for the dream to be over.
"Those are very brave words," Que said as his voice came from a distance. Issei raised his head to face the strange being standing next to him. Que gazed at Issei with gentle eyes.
"What are you talking about I just asked for help, there is nothing brave about asking for help." Issei grumbled under his breath.
Que sat by Issei having his same old smile. He gently put his hand on Issei's back.
"I think you're getting confused about what help means." Que said. Issei's eyes peaked at the man who sat next to him. Que could see he got his attention and gratefully nodded.
"Asking for help doesn't mean giving up, it means refusing to give up," Que said.
Issei's eyes widened in realization at Que's wise words. Issei would always help people but it was rare for him to ask for help. It didn't help that all these devils based strength over mental health. Issei knew there was nothing wrong with asking for help.
He then slowly pulled himself out of his fetal position and gave Que an understanding nod.
"Thanks, those are some generous words." Issei said as he cracked a smile. "I'm just always getting haikus, never really getting something so straightforward."
"That's because not every answer is complicated, it's more simple than you think." Que said.
Issei looked to the horizon with a much more positive attitude. Issei turned to Que and was about to say thank you. Que's eyes showed surprise as he turned around looking out into the distance.
That surprise slowly turned into interest as a mischievous smile appeared on his face. Issei arched his eyebrow at Que's expression.
"Something wrong?" Issei asked.
"It seems we have an uninvited guest." Que said in a tone of happy voice. Issei could see Que was excited about an intruder in his mind. Que stood up and walked toward the way he looked.
"Issei, you wait here, I wanna see who it is first." Que said.
Issei was gonna argue against Que. The second he opened his mouth, Que vanished into thin air leaving Issei alone with a great view of the horizon. Issei grumbled in frustration.
"I wish I could do that." Issei said. Then an idea popped into his head. "Maybe I can too."
"Hey, it's my mind, right." Issei said as he got into a meditation position and took a deep calm breath.
Magnus the red, didn't know what to expect when entering the mind of Issei Hyoudou but this beautiful world was certainly a welcoming site. It reminds her of a pleasure world that was under the imperium of man. She could hardly believe the flora around her. She examined it thoroughly, gazing at them with wonder as she had only seen green like this in old books.
She bent down to pluck one of the many flowers on the ground. She found it to be stunning and engraved it into her mind. Magnus needed to find Issei no matter what, she had a million questions for him.
"Enjoying the flowers," Que said as he finally made his presence known. Magnus turned around to face this strange man who stood in her path. She could not feel his presence at all, she wondered if this was some sort of manifestation made by Issei's mind. Que only stepped towards her slowly.
"The flower you are holding right now is called a rose, careful though they look beautiful they have thorns," Que said in a joyful tone, though there was a hint of sarcasm In it. Magnus narrowed her eyes at the being.
"I know what this flower is, my father grows them in his special garden," Magnus said, then a red glow radiated from her, and the air became hot as the Crimson Queen began to flare like a sun.
"You shall make your identity known for I am Magnus the red, the greatest Psyker in the universe and I seek word with Issei." Magnus declared as her voice echoed throughout the land like roaring thunder. Que stood his ground as harsh weather started to brew around him. Magnus was one of the greatest Psyker to roam the galaxy and she was the one to cure her legion from a horrible plague that turned her children into warp spawns. Magnus would have this person speak to her with utter respect.
Que stood very bored as the area around him began to change. He slowly turned his attention to Magnus and gave her an annoyed glance.
"I know who you are and I'm not impressed, now tell me why you are here before I have to get a little physical or technically mental," Que said giving Magnus a thinking look, his tone changing Into a very casual voice. "Because you know where technical in Issei's mind."
"Silence you fool, tell me where Issei is now or you shall face me," Magnus then raised her hand as red wicked energy glowed from her fingertips. Que only stood unimpressed at Magnus. He slowly grew annoyed by her proud attitude.
"And what are you going to do about it." Que said unafraid of Magnus's threat. "You know your sister our right about you, you are an arrogant dick."
Magnus raised her hand and as warp fire spewed from her fingertips, the flame burned with a pure holy light coming right at Que.
Before any of the flames could touch a single thing, Que snapped his fingers and the fire was snuffed out. Magnus rose her eye in surprise at what had just happened. Que then raised his hand at the stunned Magnus and the next thing she knew every part of her body refused to move. Que only moved his finger an inch as Magnus was thrown to the ground. The collision of her hitting the ground formed a crater. Her eye wide in horror as she noticed how she was shrinking to her original size, Magnus would always use warp sorcery to change and manipulate her size.
Magnus's true size was an astounding 9 and a half feet, compared to her sister, she was the same size as Russ.
Magnus tried to use all her psychic might. To free herself from this invisible prison. The sky began to change from red to black. Magnus used all her psychic power that could distort the fabric of reality to try to overpower Que. The wind started to pick up as it harshly blew. The ground began to shake.
Que looked down at the definite Magnus with his head slightly tilted.
"You really are stupid aren't you?" Que said as used his other hand to point to the sky. Magnus watched as the red sky turned back to the normal beautiful night atmosphere, and the ground became calm and still. The wind blew gently again moving the felids.
Magnus looked on in horror as all the psychic power she released could destroy a small town. Magnus froze in dread as she knew this was a mistake to enter Issei without any precaution. Que slowly walked to the imprisoned Magnus and with each footstep he took was like endless suspense. Magnus could feel his cold killing intent radiating off him. Earth-shattering dread stabbed her mind.
She looks at him with one eye. Magnus hated this, she was a master at entering the minds of others and now in mere seconds, she was reduced to nothing.
"What are you?" She asked in a forced voice as even talking was too much strain on her. Que bent down and looked at her with a cold lifeless gaze.
"You're the psychic figure it out." Que challenged. "Also not a fan of the red."
Magnus used her power to see who was the monster behind this human mask. Her eyes lit up with a brilliant glow. She peels back the curtain only to see nothing but darkness.
"What is this?" Magnus said not understanding what she was looking at. "There is nothing but darkness."
"Keep looking." Que orders as his voice became lower and less human. Magnus kept looking only to see nothing but more darkness; she kept pushing out the image to see anything, perhaps she could find a kink in his armor. Magnus stopped when she could see something even if it was a far distance away, it had approached her site. Magnus could see the milky way galaxy.
She looked at a light in the darkness. Magnus stopped thinking and was dumbfounded. As a black mass of darkness moved in front of the galaxy, Magnus didn't understand, was Que real form looked like. Then more massive shadows loomed over the light of the galaxy. Magnus then realized this was a hand surrounding the entire cosmos. Magnus was shaking as she could see in the endless void there was a figure towering over all light. She had never felt such darkness as it could even possibly snuff out the Emperor's light. Magnus was snapped out of her vision to see Que looking at her with a death stare.
"Are you-" Magnus was cut off by Que.
"That's right I'm darkness and I don't mean it metaphorically, or rhetorically, or poetically, or theoretically, or in any other fancy way, I'm the thing that made the fabric of the universe, a literal being of cosmic existence that you could not even fathom to understand," Que said, he scratched his face and then glared at Magnus. "I'm a law of existence itself, who's trying to relax, have a personal connection with someone I care deeply about, and then some brat decided to come in uninvited thinking she owns the place."
Magnus felt fear take over her mind as a primal urge to be afraid flooded her mind. This was a destroyer of worlds and she had disrespected him, she felt so small like a spec of dust being swept away by a giant hand. Magnus began to think of how to get out of the situation but how?
"Even now you're still trying to think of a way to get out, how rude." Que said. Magnus felt her heartbeat quicken in panic.
"Did he just-" Magnus couldn't even finish a thought in her mind as Que cut her off.
"Read your mind, yes," Que then took a deep sigh. "Yes I did and I know everything."
Magnus began to hyperventilate as she lost her breath. Maybe she could wake up and escape this being, maybe she could-
"Escape by waking up you're starting to run out of ideas." Que yelled, he was starting to get annoyed that Magnus couldn't get it yet. Que then stepped on Magnus's head. "Hey, you know what I hate more than bratty kids, I hate puppets that have strings attached to them." Que then formed a spear out of the shadows and stabbed it into her back. Magnus screamed in pain as she was released from her hold. Magnus felt the blade sink into her soul. She fell to her knees as she felt the blade disappear. She was at the complete mercy of this monster, she looked up at him with her single eye to see Que, afar from her, holding a cup of tea and sitting on a white chair. she got up weekly to feel her body was in pain.
"What did you do to me?" Magnus asked.
"Oh well you see I don't like strings attached to my guest and well since I did you a favor, hmmm, now you owe me." Que said calmly. Magnus stood her ground as she gripped her fist in anger.
"What are you talking about there are no strings attached to me, I am of my own free will not some grand plan of another."
"Well guess what sweetheart, you reek of warp stink not to mention you tried to recolor the place and I HATE THE COLOR RED!" Que said. Magnus felt rage boil inside only for it to be washed away by fear, Que glares at Magnuns making her fall to her knees in terror.
Magnus had never felt this vulnerable and it scared her. The once-strong Psyker that utilized the warp to do anything was now brought to utter defeat by this eternal force. Magnus then had one idea come to her: if she could sacrifice enough of her body she could destroy this being. She desperately forced herself to her knees and gripped her heart. Que curiously raised his eyebrow at the defiant Magnus.
"Listen to me now shadow I will banish thee to the deepest part of the warp to keep my sisters safe from you." Magnus declared readying herself for one final attack. Que rolled his eyes.
"Let me guess your gonna sacrifice large amounts of your body to banish me." Que said not even impressed by Magnus's plan.
"YES I AM, NOW BEGON MONSTER." Magnus began to glow red as she was gonna give her heart, arms, and eyes to lock Que away. She felt every atom in her body thrive in pain as she pointed her hands at Que.
Que put his cup down and cracked his knuckles. To him, this was only a child throwing a temper tantrum. Que was about to prepare a counterattack. Magnus was about to let the spell out when she found two small hands gripping her own. Que's eyes widened in horror as Issei jumped in front of Magnus.
Magnus stopped completely as Issei stood in her way holding her hands carefully, his grip being ever so gentle and her single eye widened in surprise. There was a caring glow emanating off Issei and surrounding Magnus the red. If she had not stopped she would have annihilated him. The very thought of harming Issei and destroying lost knowledge repulsed her.
There was an overwhelming gentle aura glowing off Issei. Magnus felt an unknown feeling. It was like a warm shadow blanketing her from the world. She was disarmed by Issei's gentle aura and gazed into Issei's panicked eyes.
"Please stop he's not your enemy." Issei said with a worried tone of voice. He was afraid to lose somebody that he had to protect. Magnus stopped herself and went into deep thought. She had to stop this foolish battle, though her pride was wounded it would be a small cost to pay. Negotiations were needed to settle this conflict and knowledge would be the answer. Magnus looked to Que to feel an overwhelming anxiety take over. Magnus no longer saw the form of a man but a beast of infinite proportion glaring at her with black hole eyes, Magnus was at the complete mercy of this monster and gripped Issei's hand in an involuntary reaction. Issei could see Magnus's terrified reaction and turned around to face Que.
Que stood quietly and calmly nodded to Issei like he had done nothing. Magnus was shaking in fear she always thought there was no cost for knowledge and that nothing was too horrible for her to learn. Magnus knew what Que was, he was a God. Issei realized what may have happened here. He let go of her and gave him suspicious expression.
"Que did you scare the very living daylights out of her, not cool man." Issei scolded with annoyance in his voice. Magnus covered his mouth as she had frightened eyes.
"Please forgive-"
"Alright enough I'm friends with him but you watch yourself," Que warned. Issei gave a harsh glare to Que.
"What? She started it." Que said pointing at Magnus. Issei shook his head in disappointment. Magnus was flabbergasted at what she just saw. Issei talked so casually to this primordial being. Issei turned to Magnus wondering what she was doing or if this was even the real Magnus. She was smaller than the last time they met. Magnus noticed Issei had a suspicion directed at her.
"Issei, why are you gazing at me?" Magnus questioned.
"Are you the real Magnus or are you some sort of dream because I don't remember you being this small?" Issei asked as he poked her stomach to find her cloth hiding some toned abs. Magnus rolled her eye and gently swatted his hand away from her.
"Yes I'm real I simply telepathically entered your mind." Magnus explained her tone of voice held much annoyance. Issei thought that was pretty cool but a horrifying thought dawned on him.
"Hey Magnus, did you see any personal things?" Issei said as he blushed furiously. Magnus didn't understand why Issei was acting so strange. Que smiled and knew what he was talking about.
"Oh, he's talking about this," Que said and pointed at Magnus.
The crimson queen's mind was flooded with so many lewd and pornography images. Magnus took a long pause and took a deep breath. She had seen her fair share of action but so much overwhelmed her sensibility. Issei watched as Magnus had a mighty blush on her face. Her cheeks became a much darker red while her lips curled in an awkward frown.
"Ha though you might have made me blush from the mind of a God, I still stand strong fool." Magnus taunted showing how resilient she was even though she did blush.
"Those are mine," Issei said with his head down in shame having a mighty blush. Magnus felt her breath hitch, those strong memories and the amount of sexual tension could make even a mighty matriarch flush with embarrassment was something incredibly impressive.
"Issei please don't feel ashamed I've just never met someone like you, that could well make me redder than I am," Magnus said trying to not make this situation as awkward as possible.
"How much can you still watch these without getting bored, not to mention the many images of the breast that flooded his mind as a layer of defense against psychic attacks?" Magnus thought but then could see something in Issei's eyes that made them stop her train of thought. Issei was afraid of Magnus.
"So now you know how much of a freak I am, you can leave if you want." Issei said in a sad voice. Magnus put a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Issei I'm not disgusted or dissuaded, I'm just surprised that's all it is." Magnus reassured Issei. He reacted to her with stun eyes.
"Really?" Issei asked.
"Issei I've seen the worst minds of human beings, I'm honestly surprised I could even blush like that, I thank you for the new experience." Magnus said. She took a long sigh and watched as the feeling in the air had begun to be calm again. Magnus shook her head, her pride was out of control, and the whole experience was a good reality check for her. No matter how powerful you are there will always be a bigger fish. Issei gave a stiff laugh at the whole situation.
"Sorry about Que, he's just really protective over me." Issei apologized. Que sat back down and rolled his eyes. Magnus could see Que act as more like a protective father to Issei rather than an arrogant god. Magnus calmly sat on the ground and gazed at Issei.
"Issei I came here to do one thing to ask more questions so tell me who is this Que entity
"Well, his real name is He Who Made Dark and well you see he's the one who saved my life." Issei said as he slowly sat on the ground to join Magnus. "He was trapped in this fountain a while back because he got into a fight with his brother over, I don't know stuff. Anyway, he was trapped until my mother who was still pregnant at the time, walked by it. She didn't even realize I was dying, and then Que escaped by going into me and infiltrating my soul, so yay that's how we met."
"So you escaped prison only to be imprisoned in a different cell." Magnus said. Que grumbled in annoyance.
"Unfortunately I didn't know Issei over here had a dragon living in his soul who wasn't a fan of sharing." Que said in an angry tone of voice, every time he would think of that red dragon it infuriated him how long he was trapped beneath that red idiot.
"Fascinating, so this red dragon kept you in prison and who is this shadow's brother?" Magnus asked.
"His name is he who made light and he's an asshole," Que yelled over at the two. Magnus could tell by Que's voice that they were not on the best terms.
"Okay, now it's my turn to ask a question!" Issei strongly stated. He would also get as much information from Magnus; he would not be the only one to show all his cards. Magnus nodded at the fair trade in her opinion. Issei had a billion questions come to mind but one, in particular, would be a good choice.
"Okay are you a Psyker and if so what is a Psyker?" Issei asked. Magnus smiled as she would love to explain the amazing capabilities of a Pskyer.
"Issei I'm quite glad you asked the question. You see in this dimension we have another realm of energy, this realm of energy called the warp. You see Issei we travel through space using this warp but some special individuals are capable of using the power from the warp. These people are called psykers and they are quite powerful, their limits have no bounds." Magnus said. She could see Issei's eyes were shining with wonder.
She was glad Issei wasn't afraid of the unknown, Magnus hated thoughts who were afraid of the unknown; it was the greatest shame of ignorance. Issei couldn't help but think what an amazing thing Magnus could do.
"So anything," Issei asked with excitement in his voice. Magnus smirked and nodded.
"Yes, Issei but I need a lot of time and practice, sometimes specific things, but nothing is out of the realm of possibility for me." Magnus said but Issei's eye flared in joy. Issei had a dirty thought come to his mind: could Magnus make him a bunny costume for Angron? Magnus noticed how Issei was lost in lustful thoughts. Magnus softly chuckled at Issei; he was still a primal human with basic needs.
"If you can do anything then why don't you give yourself a new eye?" Issei asked.
"That's more of a personal choice than anything else." Magnus said. The truth behind her missing eye was to save her legion from the flesh change. She had to overpower a warp entity but by only sacrificing her eye she prevailed.
"Well since you asked a question Issei it's my turn," Magnus said, bursting Issei out of his happy daze. His mind was still on the subject.
"Issei I want to know more about the gods of your world and many creation myths of the old earth," Magnus said as her tone of voice became excited to know more about Issei's world.
"Well I don't know all of them but I do know the main ones like Christianity, Chinese, some Greek, and Norse mythology." Issei answered. Magnus had to hold in a happy squeal but she let it out in her mind.
"Eeeehhheee!" She thought.
"I heard that," Que said.
Magnus didn't pay any mind to Que's comment. Issei told his stories of Adam and Eve, God making the world, and how the war broke out between angels and devils. Magnus had to hold in her laughter at some of these stories. Issei even had to talk about the "journey to the west", a personal favorite of his. Magnuns would occasionally ask questions about Issei's stories. She held a very perceptive face through most of his tales.
Issei even explained how he had fought against Loki a trickster God who almost killed him. Magnus couldn't help but compare Issei to the matriarchs, his epic adventures were beyond any normal man.
"So yay, that's most of what I know," Issei declared as he took a long breath because he felt like he talk for hours. Issei scratched the back of his head. "So what did you think?"
Magnus gently put her hand on Issei's shoulder and gave him empathy. Issei could feel her gentle aura wash over him. It didn't change the way he felt like Angrons did but he could still feel that kindness, it matched with her sad single gaze fell upon him.
"Issei I say this from the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry for the hardship you had to endure and it's not fair what happened to you at all." Magnus said. Que had a surprised look on his face. Issei felt some pain in his heart and pushed it down. Magnus and Que felt Issei suppersing down his emotions.
"It's fine Magnus, it doesn't matter anymore," Issei said as he moved her hand away from her shoulder. Magnus did not want her new ally to push away any past problems.
"Issei, please do not push away your problems. I am more than willing to listen to you and hopefully be a consultant." Magnus said, lending her aid to him. Issei found himself cheering up from her word but felt a slither of doubt lingers. Magnus now knew why Lorgar acted so strange the truth of how all these gods truly acted must have been hard for her.
"Poor Lorgar." Magnus said pitying her sibling for all this horrible news.
"What's wrong with Lorgar?" Issei asked his voice growing concerned as well. Magnus picked up on Issei's tone, she thought it was sweet and noble for Issei to care for Lorgar.
"You see Issei the Imperium of man has a strong atheist point of view, religion is strictly forbidden from the Imperium," Magnus said. Issei felt his jaw drop at the news for such Advance people's freedom of belief was still in jeopardy. "Lorgar where she grew up was a world full of religion and I believed her caretakers in the world abused her to believe in such things."
Issei gripped his fist in rage wanting nothing more than to teach those who hurt Lorgar a lesson. Though unknown to the two of them Que heard his thoughts and smiled. He calmly crossed his fingers and two small shadows zoomed off into the enigma.
"Though Lorgar did have a strong belief in believing in a higher power, she desperately wanted answers and who you are giving them and I think she's taking the truth a bit hard." Magnus said. Issei felt his heart-Wrenching pain. How could he do that to someone? After this meeting, he will go straight to Lorgar and give her hope again. Issei wanted to change the subject immediately wanting to feel less pain.
"What happened to the 11th and 2nd Matriarch?" Issei asked, Magnus, became dead quiet. She thought that Issei might have been dissuaded from the topic when Horus' use of her strong tone of voice suggested otherwise. Magnus remembers Issei's spent time with Angron she could have told him something but even then the fate of the lost ones was to never be said. Issei remembered one little comment that Angron said that he couldn't possibly believe could happen.
Issei felt his throat go dry. "Did Russ kill her sisters?" Issei asked in horror.
Magnus shook her head in sobmer agreement and looked down to the ground in sadness. Issei had feared he crossed the line and felt the melancholy drifting in the air. Magnus should have known Angron would have opened her big mouth. Issei thought how horrible it must have been especially for Russ or she was secretly psychotic.
"I'm sorry I brought it up, I don't even know what I was even thinking." Issei admitted he rubbed his arm uncomfortably trying to avoid eye contact with Magnus.
"Issei I understand you're scared to talk about sensitive topics so you brought up a sensitive secret from us to see if you can trust me," Magnus said. Issei felt ashamed at what he tried to do. He was about to ask for forgiveness only for Magnus to grip his hand.
"It alright Issei, besides the story are smipley to sad, I wouldn't want to remember they're horrible fates." Magnus said as she gently grasped Issei's hand, she did it to bond closer with Issei while also comforting herself. Que rolled his eyes.
"Icarion and Malayalam are both alive, dumbass," Que said. Issei gave Que a cold gaze.
"Que stop being a jerk." Issei said in anger. Though he knew their names it didn't matter; it was a sensitive subject that he had no reason to be involved with. Issei turned around to face Magnus.
"I'm sorry Magnus I-." Issei pauses his sentence
Magnus was frozen with fear; those were her sister's names and Que had known. The Crimson Queen stood up as she walked to Que with furious steps. The sound of thunder rumbled. Que had looked at Magnus to see her looming over him. She knew there was no intimidating Que but she would let her anger be known here and now.
"You lie, weaver of shadows, how could you possibly know-" Magnus was cut off as Que put his thumb to her head. Magnus's mind was filled with images of her two sisters as they were in the same world as them. Magnus felt tears well up in her eyes as if it was truly them.
She started to fall to the ground but Issei was already by her side and caught her before she could hit the ground. Magnus felt her whole world flip upside down. Issei held Magnus close as Que only shook his head.
"What did you do, Que!" Issei demanded in a hasty panic.
"I only showed her the truth, that her sisters are alive and are on this planet." Que said nonchalantly. Magnus took deep calm breaths as Issei held her still, she slowly regained her composure. Magnus noticed how Issei kept her steady and was glad for the assistance, some of her loyal marines would dare not do anything without her direct word. Issei could see her expression slowly turn into happiness like she was accepting the begrudging truth.
"My sisters are alive," Magnus said in happiness. She turned to them both and had a boiling regret burning in her. "I'm sorry Issei but I must go, my sisters need me. I promise to return to this conversation later."
Magnus then directed her attention toward Que.
"May I leave this place?" Magnus inquired of Que.
"It's not me you should be asking." Que said as his eyes were directed towards Issei. Magnus knelt to Issei and glimpsed into his eyes.
"Issei I apologize for my rude behavior and coming in unannounced into your mind, may I leave your mind to search for my sisters." Her voice was that of silk asking for passage. Issei thought long and hard.
"Only on one condition, you have to close your eye." Issei asked.
Magnus nodded and closed her single eye, she wondered why this was Issei planning an attack or some witty revenge. Magnus ignored those thoughts because they didn't go with his kind and warm nature. Issei took a deep breath.
"May I lay my hands on your face?" He wanted to have her permission before he did anything. Magnus nodded. Issei laid his hands on her cheeks even in dream and reality Mangus had to acknowledge that Issei had some damn soft hands. Issei would help her in her quest to locate her lost sisters. Issei took one deep breath and let the shadows within him. Then in a matter of seconds, he was finished. He removed his hands.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now." Issei said quietly. She opened her eyes to see Issei with a gentle smile. Her heart stopped as she now realized as she touched her face to feel another eye in the place she lost, she sacrificed that eye to save the legion to overcome a horrible warp monstrosity but now a new one was in its place. Magnus carefully touched it. Magnus warps a mirror in this world to look at her new eye. It was nothing like her original, it lacked color and the white was replaced by a pitch-dark black. It was also a perfect size. Was this some sort of trick a tactic to gain control or earn her favor?
She turned to face Issei who had hope in her eyes. Magnus quickly read his mind, bypassing his perverted defenses to be met with such golden compassion, Magnus thought she was looking at her father for a mere moment. Issei did this action just for the sake of helping. The golden heart was no lie but the truth. Magnus now understood Issei this prevented and dumb nature was a safeguard. Heiwas a kind man who hid behind his shield.
Magnus smiled though she could have always regained her eye through imperium advanced medical centers, she chose to symbolize her sacrifice. Though in this moment she would not get rid of the eye for it was a gift from beyond the universe. And she would accept it with honor.
Magnus gave a short bow to Issei.
"I have to go but, thank you for the gift, Issei let it be known here and now that Issei is an alley to the imperium," Magnus announced in a dramatic voice. Issei smiled and shyly looked away.
"Hey, it's not a big deal," Issei said, trying to be very humble. He didn't feel like it was deserved but he would gladly help in any way he could. Then in a quick action, Magnus gently kissed Issei's cheek.
"And that is my gift to you, I promise we shall meet again." Magnus said as she vanished into the crimson fire, leaving Issei's mind.
Issei had stopped thinking and blushed furiously, matching the shade of Magnus's skin. Que smirked at Issei as he was stuck in a dumbfounded expression. Que stood up and stretched.
"So you wanna know about the lost matriarchs or what!" Que said, however, his words fell deaf upon Issei's ears who was still making sense of the kiss.
"I'll get back to you when you're ready." Que said. Issei then grabbed Que by the shoulders.
"What just happened!" Issei cried out in shock.
Magnus woke in the real world and dawned with a new eye, she stood up and quietly looked down at the sleeping Issei. She gently put her hand on Issei's shoulder and gave a kind nod. Issei and oddly Que have gave her hope to find her lost sister. The time was upon them to truly untie with all of them.
"Thank you, Issei." Magnus began to slowly walk out the doorway but before truly leaving she looked beside her at the resting Issei. Though Magnus had Learned so much, her pride was severely wounded, Que had truly defeated her and simple psychic combat but he was no warp entity, he was something else, the image of the dark hand that swallowed the universe, still fresh in her mind. Though Que was controlled by another soft kind-hearted person, Issei.
"You might be a strange person but you sure are an amazing one as well." She quickly stepped out of the room and walked into the hallways. The quest for the lost had begun but the right preparations had to be done. Issei might need to be brought along as Magnus ponders one had watched from the shadows. Konrad had walked out from the shadows and gazed bloody daggers at Magngus. Konrad walked into Issei's room taking a long sigh of relief. She was worried that Magnus had done the unspeakable. Konrad knew she had to guard Issei against the others so she would, Konrad sat by Issei's bedside. She gently sat on the bed to not wake Issei.
"Rest easy Issei for the night hunter will protect you." Konrad whispered. Though she worried if Issei woke up to the sight of her in this cold armor would be intimidating. Konrad sat on the ground instead. She fiddles with her fingers and nervously thinks.
"I hope you don't mind me spending time with me tomorrow."
Meanwhile in Issei's mind
After a couple of minutes of settling down from Magnus's kiss, Issei now gathered his thoughts and sat with Que.
"Okay so who are the lost matriarchs?" Issei said as he tried to remember their names. "Icarion and Malayalam correct."
"Yep Icarion was the 2nd, her legions were the lighting beares and Malayalam the 11th, her Legion the red crosses both of which met horrible fates but are now on this world the same as you." Que told looking Issei in the eye to make sure he understood.
"So what happens to them for the others to not talk about them." Issei wants to know why this was the case.
"Because the emperor of mankind redacted their history and forbid them from talking about them. Any information about them was burned and scored because he was ashamed of them." Que spoke his mind. Issei gripped his fist in anger anytime this emperor was brought up, it soured his mood. Especially what he did to Angron.
"I'm starting to not like this guy Que," Issei confessed in anger.
"Good because he's one crafty, manipulative bastard and a bad decision maker but anyway a real long while back before I was imprisoned by my brother, I had to watch over a lot of dimensions, you know make sure everything was in balance," Que said as he brought his drink to his mouth. "But I do know what happened to them."
"So spill the beans what happened, are they dead?." Issei said not understanding.
"Both of them fell for different reasons and Issei you should there are fates worse than death." Que said his voice became cold and harsh, though it was not threatening more like a foreboding warning. Issei got goosebumps feeling Que's tone was scaring him.
"The reason for their redaction was two different reasons, Icarion was very loyal to the emperor, and she was the very third to be found by the Emperor. Icarion was tasked with the containment of the warp though the Emperor did not quite explain what she was fighting for her safety she was responsible for cleaning the web away and random rents that came from it, The web is in the warp but tunnels that lead all over the galaxy." Que then took another sip of his tea. Issei wonder what was bad about the warp, Mangus made it sound so beautiful and enchanting.
"So what's wrong with the warp?" Que had stern look in his eyes looking into the cup in his hand.
"Issei you must know that there is great horror in the warp and darker gods that dwell within it" Que warned, Issei understood and nodded. "Icarion was the only one to know about the horrors in the warp and was sent to clean it up, unfortunately, their homeworld was being consumed by the warp tear, The Emperor wanted to destroy the world but Icarion didn't believe that she abandoned the great crusade to save her homeworld. The Emperor was angered and afraid of the warp tear worsening, so he sent many of the other legions to execute her specifically, Russ and Horus."
Issei felt his eyes widen. How could the matriarchs turn against their own family so why was Icarion here and alive?
"Well she fought, losing her homeworld in the process, unfortunately, they lost her body in the warp storm, so surprise, she survived," Que said as he finally put down his cup. Issei had a lot to process but we could do it another time he needed to hear about the other one as well. Issei took a long sigh, the shocking news that he was receiving certainly gave him a different view of the matriarchs.
"Malayalam well she wasn't a warrior like her siblings, she was a medical doctor. Malayalam grew a conscience and loathed senseless battle, her personal beliefs soon became a nuisance to the Emperor, you see Issei a lot of the matriarchs represent a certain aspect of their father. Malayalam represented his love and understanding, sadly it allowed the Rangdan to take over her mind allowing them to manipulate her along with some of her forces." Que said in a sad tone of voice. It sounded like he had witnessed it firsthand.
"Who are the Rangdan?" Issei asked.
"Their space vampires and before you get your hopes about them being sexy, they're the alien monster that conquers and devours." Que said "Russ, Gulliman, and the Lion we're both sent to deal with it sadly her body was never found but it was believed that Russ killed her, Guilliman merged her forces with Malayalam. Their legion name was the healing hands." Que finished by cracking his fingers. Taking another long sigh, Issei couldn't believe it; this must have been hard for all of them, especially Russ. Issei was something beyond furious with the Emperor, how could he waste billions of lives even if it was a dire situation he should've still attempted to protect his children. Not to mention that sending one of your children to kill the other was an entirely new level of messed up. Issei needed to get the full story as far as experience goes, don't just judge one color of a painting.
"If you want to do something then, you need to start training." Que said. Issei sighed and gripped his head in anger. There were so many horrible things going on in this universe but what could he do, how could he fix it all?
"God I always feel like I'm two steps back." Issei grumbled frustratingly. "But can you please help me become stronger?"
Que felt his heart skip a beat as he felt a happy tear leak from his left eye. Issei panicked and fumbled in his seat.
"Ah Que are you okay, did I offend you or…" Issei was cut off as Que firmly gripped Issei's shoulder and gave him an optimistic smile.
"We start training tomorrow but we're almost out of time. I promise I'm gonna train you." Que declared.
"Thanks, Que," Issei said. "Well good morning then."
Que smiled he was a bringer of internal darkness but yet the sun set on Issei. Que couldn't help but chuckle at the circumstance. He had never thought about helping anything that was more tuned to the light, but he smiled for shadows that would cradle for another to protect them.
"Good morning Issei," Que said calmly back.
The world around them faded into white as Issei vanished from his dream.
Issei opened his eyes. He was welcomed to the site of his room. The morning sunlight illuminated the room. Issei felt very comfortable and let out a long yawn. Issei looked around the room to see Konrad of all people sitting on the edge of his bed. He was surprised but Issei could feel no malice or aggression from Konrad.
She looked through the window but her head slightly turned towards Issei. He felt a smile bumble within. Konrad was such a beautiful woman, her black hair always made her look so elusive and mysterious. Those eyes were made to gaze at people from the dark but it did give her a majestic appearance.
"Good morning Konrad." Issei greeted Konrad with a tired smile. Konrad felt herself smile, her heart felt so warm.
"Good morning Issei I hope you do not mind but I would like to accompany you throughout the day." Konrad said her voice still held much strength but a tiny hint of softness was in it. Issei did not mind at all.
"Of course, Konrad after everything we went through together, I don't think you have to ask." Issei acknowledged. Konrad smiled at Issei's wise words.
"Then what would you like to do today?" Konrad curiously asked. Issei only had one thing on his mind.
"I think I'm gonna start training," Issei said with a determined glint in his eye.
So that is Chapter 16 boom! Trying to find the right Primarch was hard, there were many good ones out there but Icarion just stole my heart. BTW Icarion is not my creation go check out the people who did. Malayalam is my creation and you'll know about them more in later chapters. So anyway good news I have found an editor, so we're mostly gonna go back and fix some early chapters, so any new stories are gonna be awhile. I'm still imprisoned by the Emperor,
Emperor:[You should have never said those names, I loved my daughter and they didn't deserve their fates but they needed to be forgotten for their own imperium sake.]
Ripple247: You can't outrun your past no matter who you are.
Emperor: [How dare you! I am the fucking Emperor of course I can outrun by past!]
Ripple 247 felt himself being teleported away. The Emperor found himself very confused.
Emperor: [Oh shit I did not do that, oh well I'm sure hell comeback soon or later anyway review, favorite and follow]
Kitten: And have a good human citizens.
