Chapter 17 Getting Close to the Matriarch.
Konrad in a very rare moment was actually excited by Issei's words. She was going to actually spend time with Issei and shape him into a great warrior. Though she did worry about last night. What was Magnus up to? Though Konrad shook it off she would confront her sister later.
"I would be honored if I could teach you any matter of the subject." Konrad said.
"Thank you, Konrad, let's get some breakfast before we go. Does that sound okay to you?" Issei asked, making sure that if training had begun he would know. Konrad would have said no but today was different.
"Let's go to the mess hall Issei," Konrad said as she got out of bed and walked out the door. Issei did the same as he put on his shoes. He walked through the hallway to see Konrad already gone. Walking through the hallway until a thought dawned on him. Lorgar must be probably going through a midlife crisis, finding out about all these horrible things about the supernatural world, he needs to find Lorgar and fast before she does anything she might regret. Issei ran into the halls trying to find Lorgar, he opened giant doors that lead to other hallways so Issei tried to go down those paths only to be meant with more hallways.
Issei now knows why he needed to guide because this place was an absolute maze. Usually, at this point, Issei would wait until someone would come and help but things are different now. Issei closed his eyes and let the shadows lead the way. A small whisper entered his mind.
"Down the hall take a left and you'll find your distressed one." The whisper said. He followed the shadow's directions and was soon upon a curtain door. Issei could hear grunts and shouts of anger that were muffled by the walls. Issei slowly opened the giant door. Lorgar sat on her knees and angrily tore off the pages in her book. She wore her own clothing that she wore underneath her armor. It was A sleeveless robe and brown tight pants. Her armor is scattered on the wooden floor.
"It all lies. Gods are nothing but cowards, they offer nothing but pain so what's the point of this wretched existence, father you lied to us about the awful truth how could you." Lorgar cried in absolute misery. The truth was too awful and the mere things she wanted were nothing but lies. Lorgar had her world shattered and the worst there was nothing she could do.
"Lorgar?" Issei said as he finally made his presence known to the Matriarch. Lorgar froze in shock she wasn't expecting anyone to see her today. Lorgar held her head down in shame, she was expecting an insult thrown her way, like how most of her sisters did, seeing her weak on the ground. She felt so ashamed how could she allow Issei to see her like this? This perfect angel did not need to see her miserable, weakened state.
"Lorgar, are you okay?" Issei asked, he took a step forward only to hear the sound of paper under his shoes. Issei looked down to see a drawing of himself holding a spear of shadow in a majestic pose, what surprised Issei was the fact he was shirtless in the drawing. Issei looked at Lorgar with a heavy blush on his face. Lorgar still held her head down in shame.
"What do you want Issei?" Lorgar asked her voice soft and annoyed. She sounded like she didn't want anybody to see her. Issei picked up the drawing from the ground.
"Nice drawing your really good at art." Issei complemented though his voice cared an unsure tone. Lorgar snicker under her breath.
"Fulgrim is the artist, not me." Lorgar grumbled. Issei walked over toward the defeated Matriarch.
Lorgar felt a soft hand upon her own in a way to comfort her, she broke out of her depression to see Issei giving him a concerned gaze. There was no malice emotion in his, Lorgar for a second thought her father's gaze was upon her. She immediately shakes off her star-dazed feeling. Lorgar pulled away her hand from his. Issei couldn't just confront her about her personal life but he could ask about her well-being.
"How are you feeling?" Issei asked. Lorgar gave a heated gaze at Issei.
"What do you think, All my life I've wanted nothing more than to know the truth, why were hear? Who made this world? what is the point of existence, and you gave me the answer I never wanted to hear!" Lorgar yelled she clenched her fist in anger. Lorgar slammed her fist on the ground making a dent in the wooden floor. Issei still stood his ground only showing sadness for Lorgar.
"All gods are nothing but self-loaning animals that look down upon humanity. Do you have any idea how many died for this truth, wars are waged millions of lives are lost for the sake of religion and it's all a lie, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT'S THAT LIKE WELL DO YOU, WHAT'S THE POINT!" Lorgar said in a forsaken cry. Issei still held his kind gaze. Lorgar realized how childish she was and quickly shrunk in shame. She held her head in her arms wanting to block out the world around her. Issei watched as Lorgar fell into a sad state. he took a deep breath.
"I don't know what you have been through, but I'm sorry about what you've been going through. Issei sat down on the floor picking up the pages from her book. Lorgar watched Issei with regretful eyes. He was the one that saved her, Issei, this angel of shadow, had saved her from that wretched being.
"You don't have to pick those up." Lorgar said her voice was weak and miserable. Issei didn't stop and continued to pick up the drawing of himself. Lorgar sighed in defeat as she decided to pick up the papers too. The two grabbed everything off the ground as Lorgar put it in her book. Lorgar knew if anything was worthy of worship it would only be for her farther than.
"You know I have a friend that could relate to your situation, she found out God died, and she still prayed to him." Issei said.
Lorgar gave a stiff laugh.
"Your friend doesn't seem that smart if she prays to dead things." Lorgar said. Issei for the life of him wanted to do something to cheer her up. Issei should have done something.
"Lorgar if you want, me and Konrad are going to train, if you want to come along I wouldn't mind," Issei said as he began to leave the room. Before Issei could leave the room he gave some parting words.
"I know there's a lot of stuff you're going through, but don't forget religion doesn't make you, you make yourself if that helps." Issei said finally parting ways. Lorgar was left with her own thoughts as epiphany hit her, Lorgar plucked a drawing from her book. She gazed at the drawing of Issei.
Issei was just a man but he still could stand up to the gods, humans can stand up to the divine. Humans do need to believe in something but it never has to be worshiped. Lorgar realized how much of a fool she was. The Emperor told Lorgar to never worship him like a god, now she finally understood it wasn't out of humbleness, he was trying to warn her of a religious zealous nature like this. Lorgar gazed at the picture, finally putting the dots together. Humans don't worship, we create and destroy, we are the ones that turn this world not them. Humanity is the key to everything. Issei was a humble man but now he had power beyond them. Lorgar gazed at the drawing of Issei.
"Lost one I will learn your lesson." Lorgar said, marveling at Issei's illustration. Her eyes widened with delight as she finally found the answer, hope had flourished in her. The truth was in front of her and she would protect it no matter what.
Issei walked down the long halls holding his head in shame. He should have handled that better so maybe next time he could help Lorgar more. Issei was snapped out of his thoughts to hear the sound of large steps behind him. Issei turned around to see Vulkan hulking size walking right towards him.
"Issei I've finally found you." Vulkan said in a cheerful manner. Issei was happy to see his friend again.
"What do you need, Vulkan?" Issei asked.
"Do you have plans today? I'm sure you wouldn't mind the many activities that I have planned for us." Vulkan said, she wanted to try and occupy themselves until rescue arrived.
"Sorry Vulkan, I was gonna train with Konrad today." Issei said. Vulkan eyes widen in surprise. Issei was willing to train with Konrad. Vulkan kept her smile but still held much worry. Konrad was a vicious warrior who never fought with honor. She would rip apart opponents with utter ease and no remorse. Vulkan feared what Konrad had in mind for Issei to train with him.
Issei could see the turmoil on Vulkan's face.
"Hey, but if you want to come along I won't be against it" Issei quickly reassured. Vulkan sighed in relief.
"Yes, I will gladly accompany you," Vulkan said. The two began to walk toward the mess hall. While they walked Vulkan thought about the promise she kept for Angron's sake. Vulkan started to remember the conversation between her and Angron.
Angron had pulled aside Vulkan, guiding them away from prying eyes. Vulkan was surprised that Angron wanted to exchange words. The two eventually had a private spot.
Vulkan was about to ask what the heck was going on. Angron gave Vulkan a kind gaze.
"Vulkan I have a favor to ask you, now I know you owe me nothing but please entertain me." Angron said. Vulkan then disappointingly shook her head.
"Angron please you don't have to do any grand favor with family, what is it you need?" Vulkan asked. Angron smiled at her if she could count on anything in this world, it was Vulkan's kindness that made her special.
"I know the meeting about Issei went great and many of them respect him but I believe there are some amongst us who would wish to see ill harm on Issei," Angron said. Vulkan knew that some would be annoyed with him, but to wish harm on human life is unacceptable. Angron had a pained look on her face.
"I know I will be unable to be there for him, but if you could watch over him then maybe I would feel….Less stress." Angron admitted. Vulkan hugged Angron, holding her tight.
"Of course sister, I shall keep a watchful eye on him, you have my word," Vulkan said. Angron used her powers to feel Vulkan's overwhelming love for her. Angron felt tears leak from her eyes.
"Thank you, sister," Angron said, making Vulkan gasp. Angron had called her sister, she was finally able to reunite with a sister that they all thought was long gone. Vulkan joyfully laughed. Issei was worth saving no matter what; he was a kind person and Angron was in love with him.
"Of course sister." Vulkan said.
Vulkan was snapped out of her daydream to find Issei had spoken to her.
"Vulkan can I ask you a question?" Vulkan had turned her attention towards Issei seeing he had a curious glance right at her. Vulkan nods at Issei.
"Why don't you like Konrad?" Issei asked. The question had disarmed her.
"What!? What would make you say that Issei I love all my sisters." Vulkan said, trying not to give off any wrong Impressions. The real question was why Issei asked her that.
"Then why did you look uncomfortable when I brought up her name." Issei pointed out. Vulkan knew she should have better control over her emotions.
"Well, Issei, how well do you know Konrad?" Vulkan said. Issei honestly had to think about it.
"Not that much but she seems like a nice person, besides she did threaten me a bunch of times when we first met." Issei stated. Vulkan took a deep, sad sigh.
"She is very kind to you but she is very cruel to others, Issei we all specialize in different tactics of war, Rogal a master at building fortresses, Guilliman a skilled tactician, and me a capable blacksmith. Konrad specializes in terror tactics striking civilians and high-ranking leaders." Vulkan said in a sad tone of voice. Issei wasn't surprised but this didn't change anything about his opinion of Konrad. Issei knew they were at war and in the future to apply his past standard to them would be unfair.
"Vulkan it doesn't matter, I'm her friend and that won't change, because we look out for each no other matter what." Issei said walking to the mess hall. Vulkan was surprised by Issei's answer. Even telling the harsh truth he didn't care, Konrad was really lucky to have someone like Issei.
"Is there any reason she acts this way?" Issei asked. Vulkan knew the answer to this question.
"Konrad can see glimpses into the future, most of her visions, from what I heard are full of horrible fates, she even sees her own death," Vulkan said, her tone of voice sounding concerned for her sister. Issei had angrily gripped his fist, how could someone suffer like that? Without any hesitation.
"Then I'll make sure she sees a better future." Issei said. Vulkan could see the ironclad determination in his eyes and reminded her of a space marine, something was so magical about it. Issei left Vulkan with his promise, she shook it off and followed behind. The hall may have seemed empty, but one hid away behind a corner. Konrad had her back to the wall, her leg failing to stand, and on the verge of tears. These were not tears of pain but of joy. Konrad had eavesdropped on the two wondering what Vulkan was planning. However, she didn't expect such kind and wondrous words from Issei. His words had speared Konrad's cold heart, even after hearing the cold truth about her, Issei still cared about her.
"Thank you, Issei." Konrad said in a quiet whisper.
Issei and Vulkan had patiently waited in the mess hall, enjoying a big breakfast. Issei had a big plate of salted pork and a bowl of fruit. He started to wonder where Konrad was. He took a long sigh. Until the doors opened to reveal Konrad with a serious gaze that latched on Issei.
"Issei it's time to go." Konrad said. Issei nodded and jumped from his table. Leaving Vulkan alone at her table. Issei turns back and could see how alone Vulkan was.
"Hey Konrad, is it cool if Vulkan comes along?" Issei asked. Konrad had a harsh glance at Vulkan and thought about Issei's words. Vulkan sadly sighed, she knew Konrad would reject her from coming along.
"Fine as long as she doesn't get in the way of training." Konrad said. Vulkan stood up from her table and joined the two, there was an infectious smile on her face.
"Oh, I'm so glad my sister, I can't wait to show Issei the way of the warrior." Vulkan said in a cheerful manner. Before they could walk out of the mess hall a meek voice called out for them.
"May I join you?" All of them turn their attention toward the door. Lorgar sporting her armor and holding onto her book with eager interest in her eyes. Konrad was about to retort with a no but Issei beat her to the punch.
"Of course," Issei said happily. Konrad Rolled her eyes and walked by Lorgar.
"Try to keep up runt." Konrad spoke in an annoyed tone of voice. Issei didn't like the insults thrown at her away but followed along with Konrad. Vulkan and Lorgar followed behind. Issei felt so excited to train with these masters of war. His heart was pounding with excitement. Would he even get to spar with them? The thought of fighting any of them gave him a sense of fear, but it was like climbing a high mountain, knowing that if you did succeed, it would be a monumental accomplishment. Issei had to take a calm breath to keep himself from overreacting in joy.
"Issei I can hear your excitement, I'm gonna fix that, when we start training." Konrad said, flashing her sharp teeth trying to intimidate him. Issei only gave her a determined glare.
"I hope you do." Issei challenged. Konrad felt her heart beat in excitement if she ever challenged any normal person, they would always back down or ask for mercy but not Issei. Lorgar marveled at Issei's courage. It was so inspirational, she would surely write an entry in her book. The four made their way to the new training grounds. They walked out of the large building Rogal made. Issei could see Rogal had done more work on the front of the building adding layers of stone. Angron had been outside helping Rogal with her latest project. Angron wasn't happy about her curtain situation but it could have been worse. Angron laid a pile of logs down.
"After you're done with that, I need you to take the north side gate down and then will work on the cave entrance," Rogal said walking with many wooden pillars mounted on her shoulder. Angron sighed in annoyance.
"Do you accomplish anything else besides building things Rogal?" Angron asked in sarcasm. Rogal gave no response to the jab. Angron gave a stiff laugh but she soon did what she was told. She bent down to pick up something.
"Hey, Angron!" Issei said, his voice catching the matriarch off guard. Angron turned around her day already getting ten times better, and the one she admired was approaching her. Then she noticed many of her sisters were accompanying him as well.
"Hello Issei, where are you heading off today?" Angron asked.
"We are going to assist Issei with his training." Vulkan said. Angron
"Would you like to join us?" Issei asked in excitement as he claimed his fist to his palm. "Maybe I can get a rematch."
Angron would have loved to spar against Issei, she knew Issei was a mighty warrior and in her old days of gladiatorial combat, she would've relished the day to fight someone with much honor. Angron took a sad sigh.
"Unfortunately I can not go with you because I am under.." Angron couldn't finish her sentence, she felt so embarrassed to say it out loud.
"You're under what?" Issei asked, raising an eyebrow.
"She is under house arrest," Rogal commented as started nailing wood together with a mighty makeshift hammer. Issei disappointingly shook his head. He didn't understand why Angron had to suffer more.
"Rogal, I forgive Angron, can you please stop punishing her," Issei said. Angron felt so touched as Issei cared for such a trivial thing. It certainly warmed her heart. Rogal was unflinching in her project and didn't bat an eye at Issei, though she would still answer the question.
"It was a group vote Issei, Angron fully agreed to it and gave her full cooperation. However, I certainly wish Angron could work faster." Rogal said, giving a heavy glance toward Angron.
Angron rolled her eyes and sulked at Rogal's words. She knew she couldn't live up to Rogal unrealistic standards, but you still grow annoyed at the reminder. Angron facepalmed and dragged her hand down her face.
"Issei you might as well go without me," Angron said as she started to pick up her logs. "Unfortunately but I hope you enjoy your time and succeed greatly."
Issei gave an appreciative smile to Angron. As all of them left Angron felt a tinge of jealousy at Konrad though she knew he would be protected by Vulkan.
All of them walked off into the Aspen forest, Issei was easily catching up with the group. He could not help but think about where they were going. Konrad was clearly taking him somewhere different but what place did she have in mind? Lorgar kept a studying gaze on Issei wondering what miraculous thing he would do next. Lorgar knew she walked by the side of a living godsend. Issei started to grow more curious as to why Lorgar was getting so close to him. Issei was about to ask only for Konrad to say something, cutting off his train of thought.
"Issei I will be taking you to the city to train, it would be a good spot for you to train while also seeing how much destructive power you hold." Konrad voiced as she kept moving forward. Issei felt a shiver run up his spine. He didn't like that place at all; it made him feel so alone. Vulkan could see how uncomfortable he looked.
"Perhaps we should go train at another place." Vulkan suggested. Konrad slowly shook her head. If there was one thing Issei needed the most right now it was the training of the mind. Konrad knew his emotion was clouding some of his judgments, it would be better to face them now than later. Issei may have been afraid to go back to the city but it was certain that he had to go back.
Lorgar watched as Issei matched on with hope in his eyes. Lorgar was going to write it down in her journal later. The group had walked through the tranquil amber-yellow forest. Vulkan and Lorgar loved the amazing atmosphere, they would definitely take this planet in the Emperor's name. Some hours passed but finally making to the outskirts of the ghost city. Despite the clear sky in this world, the empty city still had its gray deafening clouds covering the sky. Though a big building detached from the ground floated aimlessly in the sky. Vulkan could use all the martial from this place to hopefully make some sort of S.O.S device. The metal and garbage in the city could make it possible. The matriarchs stare in wonder at the buildings but Issei felt strangely alienated from this place.
Konrad turned to face the one she loved, her expression became saddened for this was the place she met Issei while he endured his self-banishment. Konrad had stepped forward in front of Issei, she gently put her hand on his shoulder.
"We must face our fears or else they face us." Konrad said her voice carrying great sadness like she was speaking from experience. Konrad then walked to the city her steps reaching the hollow concrete. She took off her gloves and gauntlets that hit the ground with a mighty thud.
Issei's eyes widen as Konrad stripped off her upper armor, she wore no-sleeve black clothing that hugged her frame and yes her breasts were big, being the same size as Angron's. Her physique was lean and her muscle was nothing to scoff at. Her toned abbs showed through her clothing.
Issei felt his cheeks redden as his jaw dropped, reacting to her perfect body. Issei felt like something was awakening in him, they were so beautiful yet their body showed how stronger they truly are. Issei felt himself ogle at Konrad, he had a dazed expression.
Konrad felt her cheeks redden in embarrassment, Konrad in all her life had never been looked at in such a way. When people usually see her they find her to be terrifying, even Konrad's own legion would look upon her with fear. Issei gazed at her with amazed eyes, she honestly kind of liked Issei's hungry eyes. She took a deep breath and concentrated on the subject at hand.
"Issei, I want you to knock me down." Konrad said soon getting into a ready combat stance. "And you can use anything in your power to take me down."
Issei's eyes widened in surprise; he could use anything to knock her down. Vulkan thought Konrad was being very tame with her training. Just knock her down? There had to be more than that. Issei felt uncomfortable about this.
"Are you sure?" Issei yelled out, Konrad only silently nodded at Issei. Lorgar sat down and began to write in her journal. Issei pushed aside his concern and Konrad was a master of combat, he needed to give it his all. Issei shuts his eyes and thinks of the dark abyss.
"Shadow up!" Issei shouts, his voice growing deeper as the air around him becomes ice cold. The Shadows quickly warped around Issei, forming a hard armor over his body. His helmet snapped over his head, dawning the helmet of fear. Vulkan and Lorgar's eyes widened at Issei's transformation. Now able to see the complete set of the dark armor. Lorgar thought he looked like a black knight, while Vulkan thought of the unknown. Konrad had cringed at what Issei said and had only one thing to say.
"That's still the worst name I've ever heard." Konrad said. Issei ignored the insult and got into a fighting stance.
"Well, you're gonna remember it when I knock you down." Issei said his hands were ready for battle. Issei knew that this base form was stronger than he thought.
"Alright so when do we begin?" Issei asked. Konrad only smiles mischievously, she remains silently standing her ground. Konrad required no words to say she was ready. Issei had some space between them, so he could have a running start. Issei bolted towards Konrad, his feet slammed on the concrete. Konrad remained unfazed at Issei's charge, she was almost like a moving statue, Issei figured this was his chance to strike so he prepared a punch. Vulkan knew what Konrad was doing. Konrad was waiting for the first move to be made.
Issei needed to make a plan and strike hard. He launched a punch to knock down a building. The sound of cracking air was heading right toward Konrad's upper body. Issei was inches away from making contact with Konrad's chest. In his own mind, Issei knew if he could land one hit he might be able to bring her down so he would put everything into this punch.
Issei felt his punch hit nothing as Konrad easily sidestep so perfectly, it was like she practiced it a million times. Issei's eyes widened in astonishment as Konrad soon brought her palm down, striking Issei back, shooting him down, and crashing into the floor. His body was carved into the concrete. Issei thought he had that strike only to be proven wrong. Issei turns his head upward seeing how Konrad quickly grabbed Issei's leg and flung him away into the air.
He snapped out of his daze and landed on his feet getting back to a fighting stance. His face was hidden by his helmet but the feeling of stress had gotten to him. Issei found his back burning in pain but he didn't stop. He charged furthermore this time aiming for her legs. Konrad maneuvered around Issei and delivers a sharp axe kick to Issei's side. He platted his feet into the ground, halting himself from being pushed back, Now he had Konrad close so he wrapped his arms around her leg and was gonna push her down.
He didn't need to fight Konrad, only knock her down. Konrad felt Issei's great strength start to push her down. She smiled at Issei's cunning but unfortunately, it takes more than cunning to bring her down. Konrad had used her one leg to push herself off the ground. Issei was taken along for a ride. Konrad had pivoted her leg fast, knocking Issei off. He landed on his feet. Issei quickly looked up only to see Konrad bringing a fist down upon him. He hastily tried to evade the blow but as soon as he moved Konrad first was tracked on him, the blow had connected with his chest flinging him into a building and deep crashing into it, forming a hole of destruction. He's felt himself being under the debris of the broken building.
Vulkan's eyes widened in horror as this fight had gone too far. She was about to call out for it to stop only for Lorgar to stop her by sticking her arm out in front of Vulkan's path.
"Sister, wait, the fight has only begun." Lorgar protesters.
Lorgar eyes were fixated on the fight at hand. It is extraordinary if only the others had seen this spectacular spar with their own eyes. Vulkan was going to argue against this madness but Vulkan's words died in her mouth as she witnessed the soft smile on Konrad's face.
It was not a smile of twisted joy but of pure bliss, she had never seen such an expression from Konrad, not even their father could make her smile like that. Konrad was smiling in pure happiness. How could she stop this fight when it was making her sister so happy, though Issei's safety was still on the line?
Vulkan and Lorgar stopped when they heard footsteps echoing from the hole. Konrad had not even taken her eyes off that while for even a second. Issei had slowly come out of the darkness, not even a dent in his armor. Issei had to quit fooling around with his straightforward plans.
"It's time to bring out the big guns." Issei thought. It is time to show Konrad his night hunter claws. Konrad charged at Issei but Issei already thought ahead as he concentrated on summoning his weapons.
"Night Hunters Claws!" Issei yelled. Konrads could finally see what Issei's homage attack was. Issei had felt his claws stick morph from his hands. Konrad had helped in her assault to gaze at Issei's weapons. Issei thought this was a perfect time to attack, only for him to stop to see Konrad's expression. She was blushing a storm and had a shy goofy smile on her face.
"Issei they're beautiful, why must you make me blush at these times we're supposed to be training," Konrad said with a shy smile. Konrad had thought Issei's weapons looked stunning, to some they may look terrifying but to Konrad, it was the opposite, though they were perfect instruments for slicing and securing. They were a perfect tribute to her.
Issei was completely flabbergasted by, to be honest, the feeling he used to channel them was fear more than anything. Not to mention that the face Konrad made was disarmingly cute. Issei was about to ask to get back to the training.
"Oh well-" Issei couldn't finish his sentence as Konrad charged at him again this time at lightning-fast speeds. Issei decided to counter it with a downward slash. Though Konrad perfectly counters it, knocking Issei to the ground, Konrad shoots her arm downward straight at Issei hoping to pin him. Issei quickly reacted.
"Hole to the unknown!"
The shadow portal is right in front of Konrad's hand but somehow she weaved around it and pushed Issei deeper into the concrete flooring. Issei found his breath knocked out of him and felt himself going limp. He winced expecting the next punch but if it came his way, he could slash her.
"Stop," Konrad said in a calm tone of voice. Issei halted himself from doing his next plan. Konrad had such a calm composure. Issei knew the fight was over so he begrudgingly sat up.
"Alright, what did I do wrong?" Issei asked, expecting to hear what he did wrong. Konrad knew the answer to give but she stood up and offered a helping hand to Issei. He gladly accepted and Konrad pulled him up to his feet.
"Nothing!" Konrad said. Issei's eyes widened in surprise.
"What?" Issei said in shock. Konrad smirked at his bewilderment. "I don't understand."
"All of the moves you made were the right choices." Konrad said. Vulkan decided to speak, wanting to enlighten Issei on Konrad's opinion.
"Konrad has a special gift, remember," Vulkan said. Issei recollected that Konrad had the ability to see into the future but Vulkan never told her how far she could see or better terms short.
"Wait, does that mean she was reading all my moves!" Issei said in surprise, answering his own question. Konrad nodded and could see the amazement lingering in his eye. Konrad was a master of combat and is now an ultimate predictor of moves.
"All your choices for combat were good but you could have done better, we need to work more on your agility and you could always use a lesson in weapons," Konrad said. Vulkan found herself thinking that Issei might have needed a weapon. Konrad wanted to give Issei more lessons, so she would.
"Issei what weapon are you most skilled in," Vulkan asked. Her voice changed into a more calculating tone.
"Well you see I mostly use hand-to-hand combat, there was also a lot of energy that I would blast." Issei admitted, The matriarchs all ponder hearing Issei's past experience, wondering how they could improve upon it. Konrad then walked to the open. Issei is following along.
"Let me see your stance when you strike with your claws." Konrad said. Issei nodded and slashed fast and quickly, his footwork wasn't awful but it needed work, and his movement was a bit slow.
"Move faster, strike harder, and quickly go defensive, like this." Konrad said. She demonstrated this by showing him a routine. Issei watched it and did the same.
"Good, keep practicing and add your own steps to it." Konrad said. Issei did so with ease. However, Konrad cracked her knuckles.
"Remember your steps because I'm about to knock you down and always adapt to the situation." Konrad said, throwing a lightning-fast punch right at Issei. He quickly backed away, readying his claws for another spar. The two had trained until the sun had set, Lorgar and Vulkan quietly watched from afar though Issei never knocked down Konrad. Issei was knocked down plenty of times but each time would take longer and Konrad would always have to think of a new trick to take him down. Lorgar wrote down everything she saw, it was like she was captivated by the fight, wanting to illustrate as best as she could. Issei had been pushed, tossed, and smashed into the ground. Issei wonders how he could beat someone who could predict his every move, but even as he was being beaten, he still had an idea pop into his head. Eventually, they had to stop as Issei started to stagger.
"Alright, Issei, that's enough for today, you are quite the remarkable fighter." Konrad complimented. Issei still held his stance and still had his eyes tracking her.
"One more!" Issei said coolly. Konrad wasn't opposed to Issei's challenge. She slowly got back into her stance. There was a silence between them, both of them, waiting for the other to make the first move. The wind had even picked up as they both did a standoff. Issei had whispered very quietly under his breath none of the matriarchs could hear it. As Issei gestured for Konrad to strike first. Konrad bolted towards Issei readying a mighty punch, Issei only stood still at the oncoming blow. Konrad's strike never made contact with Issei as he swiftly dodged it. Konrad was surprised but saw it coming, her next move would be a quick grapple to the ground. Issei could see Konrad's hands reaching down for him but Issei gripped both her hands and pushed her down to the ground. Konrad quickly put him in a headlock but not before as Issei retaliated by gripping her arm, putting her into an arm lock. Both of them were now in a stalemate, both of them refusing to not let go. Konrad was deeply impressed that Issei had put a hold on her. Though sadly chose the wrong battle, to challenge the matriarchs in the battle of endurance they would always come out on top. The two were locked for hours as night set in. Issei inside his armor was sweating a storm for he had been fighting against the strength of a matriarch, but somehow he was able to combat it with his own strength. Issei felt his body wasn't even going all out and he didn't even say his oath, which felt like he could take on anything after he said it.
Issei felt Konrad stand up and picked up Issei along the ride. This battle was going nowhere if Konrad would not prevail then both of them would lose. Konrad leaped into the air but this gave Issei the perfect chance to enact his plan. This was never about tossing Konrad to the ground, it was about getting close to her. Konrad's eyes widened in surprise as a small cut got on her arm. He immediately jumped off Konrad. Issei let his armor vanish off him as he was back in his normal clothes. He was drenched in sweat, light bruises covered his body. Konrad could see the determination, in his eyes, the conviction of winning was within him. Konrad smirked, Issei only made a little cut. Though Lorgar smirked at her knowing what was gonna come next. Konrad smirked at Issei.
"It looks like I'm the victor." Konrad said. Issei gave a stiff chuckle.
"Actually, I'm the victor." Issei said in a tired voice. Konrad wonders what grand delusion Issei was talking about, though she froze in stiffness, as her entire body went limp. Konrad was about to fall to the ground but Issei ran to her side and gently caught her. Konrad's eyes gently latched on Issei.
"Sorry, you said I could use anything to take you down," Issei said.
He had a bittersweet expression as he held Konrad, Vulkan ran toward her side in complete worry. Lorgar gently laid her hand gently on Vulkan's shoulder.
"It is alright Vulkan Issei used this before it is not permanent." Lorgar smiled and then vanished. "It's not permanent is it?"
"Konrad will be fine in an hour or two," Issei said. Vulkan gave a sigh of relief. She then gave a disapproving look to Issei.
"Issei, how could you do such a dishonorable move?" Vulkan asked in surprise. Issei looked ashamed and darted away from her upset gaze. Issei still held on to Konrad close but was afraid to see her face.
"Stop!" Konrad said, gaining all eyes on her. Konrad gave Issei a prideful look.
"Issei you had succeeded in bringing me down, I wanted to see how far you would go and I am not disappointed, you did wonderful." Konrad said, giving Issei a kind smile. Vulkan thought at least there was no wrong between them. Vulkan gave Issei a soft gaze.
"Issei you must know a battle of cunning will always out with a battle of strength, something you exercise today but never forget your honor," Vulkan said.
"Will continue your training tomorrow, I think we've done enough today." Konrad said. Lorgar couldn't believe what she saw, Issei had triumphed over a matriarch, and that meant humans were the key to the universe. We do not need to look at the stars only in ourselves. Can we truly find the answers? Lorgar began to write in the book of all these exciting new revelations humans with the right tools could bring one of us down. Vulkan was about to offer to carry Konrad only for Issei to speak up.
"Please let me carry you back to the camp." Issei said to Konrad wants to make it up to her. Konrad nodded and allowed Issei to carry her, Issei picked her off the ground bridal style. Konrad was thinking only joyful thoughts as Issei held her so lovingly. Vulkan could see Konrad was secretly enjoying this so she picked up Vulkan's armor that was left on the floor. They all began to walk back to the camp. Though as soon as they left the area one stepped out of the shadows. Alpharius stepped out of the shadows gripping her spear in concern, having just witnessed Issei's amazing power.
"This could be a problem." Alpharius said. The sounds of footsteps from another sad echo through the dark alley as well. From behind a being wearing the same exact armor down to the last detail. She stood near Alpharius but was still obscured by the shadows.
"My dear sister let us see how this gets out of hand then will put an end to it, if we were to rush, then the throne forbids the worse." Omegon said.
"But if he becomes trouble-" Alpharius said. Only for Omegon to cut her off. These two were once the same being but when ruinous power stole them a great rift formed between the matriarch. splitting one into different people.
"Then we take care of it, end of story." Omegon said ominously. Both of them found Issei's presence to be unnerving. Omegon slicked back into the shadows leaving Alpharius alone.
Issei carried Konrad with the most utter respect. Konrad had regained some of her body function back. She had her arms around his back. Konrad smiled with such satisfaction that Issei handle her with great care. Lorgar oddly felt a bit jealous of Konrad, as she was being held around like a princess.
"Issei doesn't need to be a burden with such a mundane task, he should be meditating, learning how to use his power more, with me obviously supervising." Lorgar thought.
Vulkan was originally worried to leave Issei anywhere near Konrad but she should have known better, the signs were written on the wall. Konrad had feelings for Issei, but the way Konrad acted and her shyness was a dead giveaway. Vulkan should have been happy for sister Konrad but what about Angron?
Vulkan then had a horrible thought about the two fighting or worse will a civil war break between Konrad and Angrons two legions to fight for Issei's love.
"Oh no then it would lead to us sisters taking sides and then a big war between us sisters would erupt. No Aaaaaaaaaaa!" Vulkan panicked in her mind only to quickly regain her common sense. Seeing how silly she sounded.
"Well, at least she is happy, I know, I ask more but please try to bring some peace to my disturbed sister." Vulkan thought hoping for the best. Well at At least they were both Issei types. All of them soon walked back to the base camp seeing how more defenses were added to the building, with sturdier walls followed by more barricades around the building. Issei's eyes had widen in surprise. Still amazed that how fast Rogal worked. Konrad had a devilish idea pop into her mind.
"Oh Issei could you please assist me to my room, I hope you don't mind," Konrad asked pretending to be shy, wanting to get some alone time with Issei. Vulkan and Lorgar's jaws dropped to the ground at the fake façade, Konrad was putting on. Issei only gave a happy smile to Konrad.
"Of course," Issei said. He walked to the front door and pushed the door open with his foot. Vulkan and Lorgar still had surprised expressions on their faces.
"These are strange times," Lorgar spoke.
Issei had carried Konrad through the halls, and Konrad had regained some of her body function. Feeling the neurotoxin effect wearing off. Luckily the halls were empty it seems that everyone was off doing something or off at a task.
"So where is your room?" Issei asked. Konrad pointed down the halls. Issei walked down the hall to see it had split into two paths. He had to make a sharp right sound on the corner. Issei was met with a large wooden door.
"This is my room," Konrad said. Issei pushed on the door slowly going into the room, finding it to be really dark, though weird enough Issei could see everything in the room crystal clear. He could see there was only one bed in the room. Luckily the bed was lower to the ground than his own, Issei gently put down Konrad on the bed, She sat her upper half up, and Konrad gave Issei a shy gaze.
"Issei I am unable to remove my legging armor, would you possibly be able t-t-to" Konrad stuttered in her last words. "C-c-c-could you take off my armor for me?"
Issei felt his eyes slowly widen, his face went into complete shock and his mind felt like it was exploding. Issei the pervert was just asked to take off the clothes of another. The person to ask for this was one of the most beautiful people he had ever met. Issei felt fireworks of excitement ignite in him. Konrad could see Issei was lost in daydreaming.
"Issei," Konrad said, snapping Issei out of his happy daze. Issei came back to the real world and had a bright red blush on her face.
"Of course, just tell me how to do it," Issei said as he gave Konrad a serious look. She blushed at Issei's commitment. She shies away from his strong gaze. Konrad felt so vulnerable, Issei held the power and it excited her. Konrad wanted to continue more of this.
"Issei, unlatch my hip latches," Konrad said. He was already by her side and could see the tie latching that held her armor tight. Issei gripped the small handle and unbind them. The armor became loose and released Konrad's legs. Konrad bit her lips as the armor came loose.
"Now you can take them off," Konrad said, her voice becoming a quiet whisper. Issei did as she asked and removed them by gently pulling them off. He found the metal to be very light but due to his new super strength things were so easy now. Issei's eyes were welcomed by a pair of slim, strong legs and black compression panties. He felt his heart skip a beat. His eye then noticed something sticking out from underneath Konrad's waistline. He knew that this was the white piece of clothing he gave to Konrad to wipe her tears.
"She kept it!" Issei thought in shock. Issei snapped out of his thoughts and stood by her bedside.
"Is there anything else you need?" Issei asked, Konrad wished for more but she could not say them.
"No that is all, Thank you Issei," Konrad said. Issei felt something inside of him to stay by her side so Issei did. He then sat by her bedside and Konrad wondered why he stayed.
"Issei, is something wrong?" Konrad asked. Issei took a big sigh and gripped the animal cloth underneath him. Issei said in a sad tone of voice.
"Konrad you have been unhappy for a long time, haven't you."
Konrad's eyes gazed down to the end of her bed. She didn't want to show Issei her imperfection. Konrad was pulled out of her tragic thoughts when she found Issei's hand laying on her own. Konrad found Isseis's gaze speared into her soul.
"I'm sorry, it must be hard to see your own death on repeat." Issei said. Konrad reached down her waist and pulled out that valuable cloth from her waistband. She gently rubbed it on her face.
"You know it's very rare for me to be given kindness, occasionally I would think that no one liked me, but you were different. When I gave you my harsh hate, it was returned with love and understanding. You bring me so much peace that it's scary." Konrad kept her head down with tears of joy spilling out of her eyes clouding her vision. Issei was glad to see Konrad letting much of this emotional weight off her back. Konrad firmly clasped her hand around Issei.
"Sometimes my life would be an endless void, gutted by horrible fates, then we are whisked away from our home planets, and then when all hope seemed lost. An angel appears in my time of need, his single hand giving me hope for the better. Issei you unchained me of my fate but now I need your help with one more thing." Konrad said, her voice breaking with joy. Issei leaned in close, wanting to hear her words. Konrad had been closely slanted into Issei.
"Anything!" Issei said. Konrad finally raised her head to show Issei her fearful tears and joyful smile.
"Please, teach me to love you the right way." Konrad said. Issei's eyes widened and he felt his heart panic. He felt a pressure start to build around her. But before any more shocks of pain could enter his mind. Konrad swiftly closed the distance between their lips locking into a deep passionate kiss. Issei felt his body lock in place, his heart had slowly beaten, and his eyes slowly closed, becoming half-lid. He could taste the metal of blood but it didn't disgust him, he oddly wanted more of it. Konrad's hand pressed against Issei's back, keeping them in the kiss. Issei felt deep inside himself, primordial instincts kicked in. He put both his hands on each side of Konrad's head and deepened the kiss. Issei pushed down Konrad as she fell gently onto the bed. Issei hovered over her, the star-dazed Konrad.
Issei's eyes were wide as saucers, he didn't know what to think. He felt hot, confused, and excited. Then his eyes caught Konrad below himself seeing how Konrad was flattered and lost breath like he was. Konrad hoped to see the same gaze from her visions, but now she was met with uncertainty and confusion. Konrad felt her whole world shattered.
"What have I done?" Konrad thought in panic. "I forced myself upon him, NO! What have I done?"
He felt lost of breath and didn't know what to think, did Konrad actually like him? Is this all true, why do I feel frightened but that kiss was amazing? Issei was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the sound of sniffling underneath him. Konrad had begun to cry.
"I'm sorry Issei, please forgive me." She sobbed. Konrad's tears were wiped away, Issei used the white cloth as he dried her eyes. He hated this. Why did he have to make a beautiful girl like her cry, he was already scared to show his emotions and here he is making another beautiful woman cry who cares deeply for him.
"Dammit I should have seen the sighs, I'm such an idiot how can I even dream of possibly getting a harem." Issei thought. "No!" He needed to face his fear and he would do so head-on without any regret. They deserved some happiness as much as he did. He wouldn't let any of them fall, he still had his promise.
Konrad was about to utter a sincere apology, only for Issei to silence her, with his own lips. Konrad muffled in surprise but her voice soon turned into a soft moan as Issei had given her a deep kiss. Konrad's hearts were on fire with passion and her past troubles melted away. Issei's burning passion was like a warm blanket, keeping away all her pain. This is what her vision promised her and it was better than she could ever have imagined.
Issei couldn't believe what he was doing. A deep part of him felt like he was betraying Rias but when he would get back home, he would have the courage to face her again and tell her how he truly felt. If he wanted a harem then he needs the strength to have one. He would be a Harem king, and none of the girls he loved would be abandoned. Konrad, a beautiful giant who helped save Issei's life, needed this. She was there in his darkest hour so he would be there for hers. Konrad slightly opened her mouth, sneakily slipping her tongue into Issei's mouth. He was surprised because this was a serious French kiss. nonetheless, he did the same as both their tongues danced with each other. Konrad felt so whole in this loving moment knowing she was happy and that's all she truly wanted to be, happy.
Issei in the moment of relaxation his arm slipped and his hand gripped onto something soft to steady his balance. Issei felt Konrad sharply gasp in his mouth, Issei stopped his kiss and let go. Konrad reluctantly did the same. Issei stares at what he grabbed, seeing he had groped Konrads right breast. She let out a soft moan at Issei's soft tender touch. All of his perverted training had been second nature so he massaged Konrad's breast. Konrad had thought that a professional masseuse had touched her body but it was only Issei's giving such passion.
Issei couldn't believe what he just did, he went to second base with Konrad, a badass warrior woman. They both took heavy breaths and as they were gonna continue. The sound of heavy armor was dropped snapping the two out of their romantic daze. Both of them realized the mistake they made forgetting to close the door. Lorgar stood at the doorway of Konrad's room but her face was nothing but utter shock and embarrassment. Lorgar was nothing but a stuttering mess.
Y-y-y-you f-f-f-forgot y-y-y-yo-o-o–ur a-arm-o-or." Lorgar said. Konrad's upper armor was by her feet. Lorgar immediately ran from the room in great haste. Konrad and Issei both got off each other, having shy gazes glued to the ground. Issei broke the silence in the room.
"I guess we got a little carried away," Issei said with a shy laugh. Konrad giggled at the comment. She felt that she had moved too fast. Issei's heart was fragile and needed more time to heal.
"Do you love me?" Issei asked, his voice unsure and even scared. Konrad had no reason to lie or deceit. There was a long pause in the room.
"Yes, I do love Issei Hyoudou." Konrad said but the true question is, did Issei love her? Konrad hoped deep down inside he did. Issei took a deep breath.
"Konrad you are one of the most important, Beautiful, and amazing women I've ever met, I would be a fool not to say how much I like you," Issei said.
"But." Konrad insisted on Issei continuing his words.
"Konrad I still love them deep inside my heart. I know that I know they sound bad but once you know them you understand, I'm sorry but I want to be the harem king but I always feel so useless sometimes, I understand if you don't want to be near me." Issei said. He felt Konrad hold his hand, making his heart beat faster.
"Issei when you heard of who I truly am, and I mean the monster that I am, you still expected me, with no hesitation because you saw something in me and you keep seeing it in me. Sometimes every time I glimpse at you, all I think about is he is an angel. You're amazing and far from weak, Issei I was made for combat and endless war, but you somehow were able to overcome me. You are not weak, you are magnificent! Your kind heart is like a beacon of hope. Dammit, you make me happy." Konrad said with great care and love in her voice, that she almost sounded like a different person. "I see your potential, more than you see in yourself."
Issei wanted to say something but Konrad had such a way with words, it hushed his emotions. Konrad then gave him a kind gaze.
"Issei you see what I am, it's only fair that I do the same." Konrad said, she then gave Issei a sly smile. "Oh, great Harem King Issei."
"I think I love you." Issei blurted out. He facepalmed at his spontaneous outburst. Konrad gave a soft giggle at Issei's action.
"Hey, do you mind if we take this slow?" Issei asked. Konrad gave him a gentle nod. He smiled and gave a calm nod in return.
"Thank you," Issei said. Konrad fiddles with her finger. She had one burning question on her mind.
"Issei, how was my kissing? It was my first time." Konrad asked in a shy tone of voice. Issei felt his jaw drop In surprise.
"That was your first kiss!" Issei said in shock. That was Konrad's first kiss. Issei thought Konrad was an expert kisser. The way she moved her tongue, the passion in her moans, and the rushing of emotions. Konrad fluttered with panic.
"Oh no, was the kiss horrible?" Konrad said disappointed in herself. Issei immediately rushed to her side holding her hands. Issei gave her a passionate stare.
"Konrad, that was the best kiss I've ever had, I mean wow and that was your first time." Issei said, reassuring Konrad, she was so lit with joy by Issei's kind words.
"But why was that your first kiss, I mean you lived for such a long time, I'm sure you would have a line of guys just wanting to get to know you." Issei said. Konrad lowers her head in sadness. He didn't like seeing Konrsd so sad.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you." Issei apologized. Konrad only tensed her hand around his.
"It's fine Issei, it's just in the many years of my life. I was brought up in harsh places, I had no one to care for me, and I had to teach myself to be a monster. My home world was a crime-ridden world, so I could only fight them with fear and terror… But no one looked upon me with love or care. So I brought an entire planet of crime to its knees with fear and hatred. And I made sure those people would always know that if they ever broke the rules their punishment would be beyond death," Her face became null to emotion. Her voice cracked with sadness. "I had to become the night hunter and I know that if I did no one would love me."
Konrad became very quiet and still. Issei could see the sadness in her so he would change then gave Konrad a quick peek at her cheek and then left the room with great haste.
"See you tomorrow." he said quickly.
Konrad gave a goofy smile and fell back on her bed. Things were starting to look up, and Konrad felt as if the future had changed for the better.
"Next training session no holding back no matter how cute he is." Konrad said. If she were gonna train Issei then she needed to do it right. No holding back, Issei was on their level; it was time to push him beyond it.
Issei ran back into his room and slammed the door closed. He lay out on his bed having one thought going through his head.
"Rias is gonna kill me when I get home but man was it worth it." He thought on his bed. Issei watched out his windows as the moons raised into the sky.
"Time to train with Que." Issei said with a sad sigh. "And hopefully find a way home."
Issei's eyes then drifted away into a peaceful slumber.
A far distance away.
The land was rocky with damp precipitation almost covering the land and the world was brightened by the purple and orange sky, the same sky that Issei liberated from dark gray clouds
A strange aquatic ship, it had elongated characteristics that made it almost look like some sort of animal. The solar wings were much like fins having ridges that separated, at certain points. Its strange and unique color gave it an odd festive feeling. This was a wrath bone ship, One being had walked amongst the strange land, especially in black high heels.
She wore strange tight black clothing that hugged her slim figure. She wore a strange coat that had symbols with yellow and red patterns on it. The hood of the coat was a dark purple, she had a blue sash wrapped around her waist. Though the most fascinating piece of her clothing was a strange feminine white mask that sported two sharp horns. Though her mask gave off an extremely creepy feeling, She knelt down on the ground feeling the dirt between her gloved fingers.
"My master, I am finally here, tell me the one who I must bring." She said as her mask distorted her voice. "Tell your greatest solitaire where I should perform."
She looked up facing the far north. There she would begin her investigation for in the far distance an enormous tree stood piercing the very sky itself. There she would begin her search to find this shadow suspect.
