Chapter 21 Issei and the Lightning Phoenix Part: 4

Issei had walked to the mess hall, Angron of course had to leave to work with Rogal. He of course wanted her to stay but knew she would get in trouble if he protested. So he was alone, it wasn't easy being by himself. Sometimes it would be easy but other times are harder than others. It was rare and far between panic attacks, though the pain was always still there. All he wanted to do was to get back home and return to the others. He wanted to fix the past so he would win again for them, then he wouldn't be blamed again. He stopped in the hallway as he held his arms. That's what he should do right? So why did he feel like it wasn't the right choice? He slowly walked out of his room. Being in deep thought, he slowly dragged himself through the halls.

"Why would I even think like that, she is my everything even though I failed them." Issei thought. "Wel it wasn't entirely my fault that we lost that match, darn it where did that come from."

He heard loud stomps coming his way. Issei turned up his head to see Fulgrim walking in the same hallway as him. They both gazed at each other as a tense feeling settled over both of them. Fulgrim was the first to move walking towards a path to avoid Issei. He did the same walking quietly away from her.

Their back was towards each other, they both wanted to say something to the other but both didn't want to utter a word. Issei felt a strange urge to call off the duel but his and Angron's pride was on the line. Fulgrim wanted to retract her challenge as well, Issei was an unknown factor, and after seeing his skill with his sacred gear, it was a little off-putting. Before they could end this whole conflict, Fulgrim utter her calm words, sealing their destined duel.

"Call this match off boy, you're not risking your pride anymore and there's no shame in giving up." She called out. Not facing him at all. Issei felt a sense of pain reaches his heart. "lose, Lose I'm not gonna lose this time, because I'll win for them." He thought, while his fist tightened in rage.

"I'm not gonna lose." Issei girting out of his teeth, all this unknown rage flooded his mind. Fulgrim watched as he stormed off in anger.

"It's time to put down that pesky pride of yours Issei, wake up to the real world." Fulgrim then covered her mouth in surprise. That was the first time she said his name.

"Damn it all I just said was his name, it's not like I want to marry him, not there anything wrong with- No, stop that, he is a dragon that must be slayed." She thought striding away her head up high with pride.

Issei angrily walked into the hallway, he took a deep breath and counted on his training today. He wonder what the Khan had in store for him today. While walking he felt the shadows ship in his ear.

"The pale one watches you from the shadows." Issei thought about the dark words. He could feel their presence watching right behind him. The cold stalking arua pushed on his shoulder. "Pale!" Issei thought. The only one who came to his was his beloved girlfriend trying to surprise him. Well, she would be sadly mistaken to get him this time. Issei gave a calm smile he would give one of his special pecks to Konrad. All he had to do right now was play the idiot.

He walked pretending to have no care in the world. He took a left in the hallway knowing there was a dead end. He gave a delish smile to the wall.

"Oh no A dead end it looks like, I better turn around and kiss it up." Issei swiftly turned around and lept towards the person and swiftly kissed their cheek. He landed on his feet expecting to see Konrad blushing face.

Though one problem popped into his mind, he didn't kiss Konrad, He kissed Corvus who held a stunned look at Issei.

"Corvus!" He said in shock. He blushed bright red and immediately bowed his head. "I'm so sorry I thought you were Konrad." Corvus was surprised by the kiss but what most shocked her was Issei's alarming speed and reflexes. She then thought of the words Issei said. "Konrad, was he having romantic relations with Konrad!"

"'Hey why were you even following me." Issei said pointing a finger at her. Corvus was so confused about the station she was at a loss for words. Not to mention that was the first and had done that to her. She followed him only wanting to know why the strange interaction with Fulgrim. Issei walked around Corvus with nervous eyes.

"I got to go sorry." Issei said embarrassed about the whole situation. Corvus stopped him from leaving by clasping his shoulder.

"Wait Issei please I only want to talk, let us forget the last seconds that happen okay." Corvus urged on. Issei scared looked away but still stood his ground.

"Alright what is it." Corvus was glad she got his attention. "Good, why did you and Fulgrim act so coldly with each other?" She asked.

"Fulgrim was insulating Angron so I called her out, We have a duel coming up in five days so I guess we're not on the best terms," Issei said. Corvus was disappointed by his choice. They were compared to demi gods of war and Issei foolishly choose to fight them. Issei could see that disappointment in her eyes. He just needed to leave that was his best option for right now. Issei just walked away from her leaving Corvus with her own thoughts.

"Issei." She called, he stopped in his path but didn't turn around.

"Who are you fighting for?" She asked. He asked himself what kinda question was that. He just wouldn't lose. He wanted to be the Fulgrim no matter what.

"I know who I"m fighting for, she doesn't get to talk about Angron." Issei answered though he felt doubt in himself swell. He then quickly pushed it down. "I'm gonna win and then they'll say I'm not weak." Issei thought. He wouldn't fail not like last time.

"Does Angron want you to fight?" Corvus said not asking but pointing out. She knew how deeply she cared for him so why would she allow this?

"She said it was my choice and I choose to not let anybody hurt her again." Issei said he felt his anger boiling inside of him, and an old nostalgic feeling of rage entered his mind. A harmful emotion that he rarely showed, pure malice. All he just wanted to do now was go see the Khan for training. Corvus could see that urge to win in Issei and she didn't like it. She watched his loyalty begin to twist in front of him, it was unhealthy and harmful to others. Issei was displaying all of it.

"You're not a slave anymore!" She shouted. "So stop fighting like one." Issei stopped and glanced over his shoulder.

"You don't know what you're talking about." He said coldly. Corvus had seen many slaves' own truth and morals twisted by false slave owner love. She would not let him fall to this slope of self-pain after everything he had done for them.

"Yes I do, fight Fulgrim like you are, you surely lose." Her voice commanded as Issei gripped his fists more. This was who he was and winning would prove it to them. Issei kept walking away from the raven queen. He walked down the hall finally making it to the mess hall doors. He gripped in frustration. Thought to myself why he was even doing this? Swiftly out of the shadows, Issei was swooped into the arms of Konrad. The metal armor she wore made the hug uncomfortable but he didn't care as Konrad gave him a good morning hug.

"Good morning Konrad." Issei wheezed out. She swirly put him down and smiled.

"Good morning Issei." Konrad said. Issei could see how bright and healthy she looked. Her skin oddly had a bit of color. Her face looked less stressed with a hint of happiness. She had a great bliss to her. Issei knew if he wanted a good relationship with the girls he needed to be honest. Issei had an awkward glance at the floor.

Konrad could see something was wrong with Issei.

"What is wrong, my love." She asked. Issei took a deep breath and gave his Paramore a sad look.

"Konrad, when I was walking through the hall, someone was following me, and I thought they were you, so I missed them to a corner and kissed their cheek, it turns out it was Corvax, who was following me and I kissed her cheek. I'm so sorry Konrad I-"

Konrad pinned Issei to the door and slipped her lips to Issei. He felt so weak but it was so right. She quickly parted her lips still pinning her beloved on the wall.

"Tell me, did you feel fluttered like that when you kissed Corvax." She commands as nuzzled her head in Issei's neck.

"No, and I kissed her on the cheek." Issei said shyly. Konrad gave a mischievous glance at Issei, purple her alluring eyes.

"I know." Konrad said, she gently put him on the ground. Issei gave a soft chuckle he was surprised at how forgiving she was Konrad. The truth of the matter was that Konrad had already witnessed what happened. She could see his shock when he realized she kissed the wrong one. Konrad knew Issei was faithful; foolish but faithful. She opened the door to see one in the mess hall.

Vulkan smiled seeing Issei and Konrad were here. She stood up from her table and greeted them. Issei liked that warm aura that Vulkan gave off, it was so tranquil. He did notice the strange gift in her hand.

"This is the sword she promised to make me." He thought.

"What's that?" Issei asked, he could oddly feel a warmth radiating from the object. Vulkan knelt down and presented it to him. Issei gently took the gift from her hands, He slowly unraveled the leaf layer. Issei's eyes widened at the object in his hands. The blade was short, the silver of the blade was a mirror, all the while held by a brown leather handle, on the butt of the handle a dull metal nob, while the cross guard was eagle wings. Issei marveled at the blade. It was not magical or powerful but he could tell the master's craftsmanship is beyond anything he had seen. He looked at the blade hearing a thousand words spoken from it; not actually talking but the sword had so much character, it might as well have been starting a conversation. Vulkan could see how dazzled Issei was by her craftsmanship.

"What's its name." Issei said in awe daze. Vulkan smiled she had the perfect name in the back of her mind.

"The blade is called the silver tongue." She said. That sword would surely hold its own against Fulgrim. Konrad nodded in approval at the blade, it was perfect for his size, not to mention sharpness could cut the toughest of metal. Though would it be enough against Fulgrim? Issei liked the name of his blade but he needed a sheath it. Issei took a deep breath letting the swords warp around the blade. Acting like a sheath.

"Perfect." Vulkan was surprised how Issei could use his shadow, what couldn't they do? He looked around the room to see The Khan wasn't in the room, which means she was probably in the fields.

"Thank you, Vulkan this is awesome I have to go train with the Khan, you can come with me." Issei asked. Vulkan of course was gonna company him, she had the promise to keep to Angron.

"Of course Issei let us go." Vulkan cheered. There was something about seeing how Issei would battle against her sister that just brought out the best in them. Even when he was losing to Konrad, she could still see how happy Konrad was. These were strange times, what weep you but behold but Angron's beautiful smile. It was like Issei brought life to them.

The morning sun brightened the beautiful sky. The Khan stood in the blue field, the wind danced across her hair, and she waited for Issei to approach her. All night and day she had to study his moves to key points, She had found a weakness in his movement and would use that to break him. She didn't see any of Issei's shadow skills but she wanted to remain unaware when they dueled. The feeling of fighting against the unknown exited her. With the snap of a branch, The Khan twirled around her blade and pointed at the one who made the sound. She soon lowered her blade and gave a disappointed sigh.

"Lorgar, what are you doing here?" She asked expecting a scheme from her sister. Lorgar only sat on the ground and wrote in her book.

"Oh don't mind me." Lorgar scribbled more into her book. "I just want to see the moments you and Issei have, when you fight." She then gave an excited giggle. "Oh, what a joyous day indeed."

The Khan found her behavior to be very strange. She acted so carefreely, it was a step up from herself but still weird. Lorgar then idly felt her face to feel the tattoos on her face.

"Say sister, do you think I should remove these scriptures off my face, they're quite the eye sore wouldn't you agree." Lorgar said. The Khan would agree but found how she pointed out her own flaw to be again weird.

"Hmm yes they are, what is the point of this meeting?" The Khan said. Lorgar simply waved it off.

"Oh, Khan, I just want to watch Issei." She said the voices of others could be heard in the distance.

"Oh speaking of Issei here he comes right now." The Khan drew her attention towards the group coming her away. She could hear the loud step of them slowly approaching her.

"Step!"

"Step!"

"Step!"

"Step!"

Vulkan was the first to arrive making loud stomps. She gave her sister an apologetic look.

"Sorry." She said as she quickly moved out of the away.

Issei stood on the outline of the forest. She gave a strong glare at him, for the battle would be on. While Vulkan, Lorgar, and Konrad were watching. She put on a stoic face as Issei stepped up to her. Her eyes tracked Issei's sword that was held in his hand. She would tell Issei how these battles would go, and the next couple of days shall be hell.

"Issei we shall-"

"Sup Khan!" Issei said cutting her off. The Khan was thrown off by his kindness; because it was just strange of Issei was being nice, when a full-blown battle of blades was coming. She shook it off and gave Issei a hard gaze.

"I see your sword has arrived, good, we shall begin." She then stepped into a stance ready to take on him. Issei took a deep breath and let the shadows unravel from the blade. The Khan's eyes were lit with interest. "Vulkan made that blade." The Khan stated.

Issei gave a nervous nod. "Yeah she did, it is so honestly so beautiful I don't even want to use it."

Vulkan gave a soft chuckle at the commit, that was very nice of him to say. Vulkan always enjoys people being satisfied with her work. Konrad snickers at the blade. The Khan simply held her gaze on him. Lorgar began to draw in her book, wanting to capture the moment. She then looked up from her book.

"I believe you Issei." Lorgar cheered. Konrad and Vulkan both gave her a strange look. Konrad would have cheered but didn't want to distract her love. Issei glanced at Lorgar and gave her a happy nod, then a stoic one to Konrad and Vulkan. He faced his opponent.

"Show me how you wield the blade." The Khan said. "Come at me."

The wind slowly died down, Issei was about to take a step forward but stopped when he felt the gaze of The Khan. He stopped in his tracks; in his own mind, it formed the image of a fierce beast. A giant hawk was staring right at him and he felt helpless. Issei took a nervous gulp the battle had already begun. He felt fear hold him back but he wouldn't allow it to hold him down. He looked back up with stressed eyes.

"Shadow up!" He whispered. Then his armor shrouded him as the black knight stood in Issei's place. The Khan was amazed by the site it was different, unknown; something for the Khan to fight. Though her daze was snapped out quickly as the words Issei said didn't quite sit well with her.

"Really Shadow up that's the worse name I've ever heard." The Khan said. While the three who watched also agreed, Issei palmed his armor head. "Can we just fight?"

The Khan calmly held her stance still waiting for Issei to make his first move. Issei lept into the air bringing his sword down on the Khan, Issei was surprised at how light the blade was but that meant he could slash things more easily. As he got the blade down it the ground The Khan at extreme speeds blurred past Issei's sword and swiftly kicked him in the gut. Issei felt the air knocked out of his lungs as the Khan had hit so hard, it felt as if a cannonball gouged into his stomach. Issei was sent back into the air.

"Damn I still wish I had wings." Issei thought. When he landed back on the ground he could see the Khan was already upon him, her blade ready to stab his gut. Issei made a Hole to the unknown over his gut and let the blade sink into the void, The Khan looked at the strange power with awe. She couldn't feel any warp at all.

"Amazing!" She said. Issei used the Fist of Dorn and swung at her. The Khan quickly withdraw her blade, while easily avoiding the slow slug. Issei made the fist attack and had to use one of his two new attacks. He pointed one of his gauntlets at the Khan. She saw he was up to something and quickly charged at Issei at speeds much faster than Konrad. He could feel that strong will to win coming off The Khan and it was making Issei nervous.

"Shadow shot!" He said. The Khan could see no object was heading her away and continued her charge. The next step she took was halted as an unseen force pushed her back. The Khan stood his ground as her feet dug into the earth. She looked up wondering what had hit her.

"Issei your tricks have given you the upper hand but I want to see your steel." The Khan challenged. Issei nodded she was the teacher and he needed to listen. He calmly nodded, Issei took a deep breath and charged at the Khan, The Khan zipped towards Issei and quickly slashed under his armor arm, not cutting through the dark steel but forcing Issei into the air again. He tried to plunge his sword down on her but The Khan dodged the strike and sliced him again chipping off some of his shoulder paddings. Issei wanted to win and let his drive push him forward. Issei slashed down blocking the next attack from the Khan. He stood his ground as the two blades collided. She was surprised that his own strength was matching hers. Though that would change as the Khan pulled back her blade and unleashed a furry of slashes. Issei managed to parry some of them but each time the blade hit his body it was like getting hit by a car, not to mention he could barely tell how fast her hand movement was; it was like watching lightning strike.

Issei kept deciding to do what the Khan had shown him and darted around her, trying to strike her side, Though she saw the attack coming a mile away. She backhanded him away. He got back into his stance and went head-first with his sword again. The Khan dashed at him, though this gave Issei the perfect time to slide under her legs and ready his sword to slash her back. Issei's eyes widen as he felt a small ounce of hesitation enter his mind.

"Win for Rias." Issei hesitated, reality had caught up to him. He quickly tried to fix his mistake.

The Khan reacted but it wasn't fast enough as Issei cut the top of the white armor. It was a tiny cut but he was able to break through her defense. She quickly slashed around herself and strikes Issei's head, the hit made the audience gasp. Issei skidded across the ground, bouncing off the dirt floor. He slowly pulled himself off the ground and his sword was far away from him, standing into the earth. Konrad wanted to jump to his side only to feel the hand of Vulkan hold her back.

"No, he must stand on his own." Vulkan said. Konrad bit the bottom of her lip and watched as Issei sat on his knees. He had to catch his breath, he ripped off his helmet and took deep breaths. His head was jumbled with thoughts and had to take some personal moments to understand his surroundings. The Khan slowly marched to him and knelt down to face him.

"What happened?" She wanted to know why Issei failed to deal a winning blow. Issei needed to be honest.

"I hesitated because I thought about failing." Issei said, his voice low and angry. He felt so lost but he knew that he didn't want to fail again.

"What do you fight for Issei?" For once he could not find an answer. He was fighting for Angron but she didn't care what Fulgrim said, what honor was there to fight for? Who was he really fighting for, was it to go back home, when it all looked lost? He had no dragon within him, so what was he; Who was Issei?

"I don't know." Issei answered. There was a moment of silence. Konrad didn't know what to say; she just wanted to comfort her love, to help him. Vulkan guessed with all that was going on, this must have been a very confusing time for him. He was lost but not alone. The Khan took a deep sigh, how could she train someone like this, with no ambition?

"How dare you say that!" Lorgar yelled, all eyes were on her, she stood up, her face showing nothing but rage. Issei turned to her to see her fury. Each step she took towards Issei made the ground shake.

"That answer is unacceptable Issei, so how dare you say that." Lorgar shouted. He took a gulp as she marched over to him, her eye dead set on him.

"What do you mean, I don't know." Lorgar said her voice angered by Issei's answer.

"I'm just lost is al-" Issei was cut off when Lorgar grabbed him and lifted him to meet her gaze. The Khan was about to reach for her sister to stop. Only for Konrad to come from behind and press her blades against Lorgar's throat. Though she reminds unafraid.

"Put him down now." Konrad said. Issei didn't want them to fight and was about to protest when he noticed how Lorgar gave her a stoic gaze. He couldn't speak as Lorgar looked to be showing everything to him, Her weakness, her strength, and her hope.

"You fight for those who can not, you are not any man, You are Issei; the man who traveled through worlds, killer of monsters and blessed by the shadows." She then held her head low as tears leaked from her eye, and they ran down her cheeks. She slowly looked up at him showing how stoic she still was. Issei felt the eyes of a leader upon him. Lorgar had found what she believed and she would not let Issei fall. "I believe in you, Issei you are too special to say such things. I don't think you'll win against Fulgrim. I know you can, so stop acting like a fool and get up, because that's what humans do, You are the best human fighter who is able to fight with the likes of us, so, so, so." Lorgar started to trail off her words, Issei watched as she took a deep sigh.

"So don't give up because we believe in you, so fight for all of us." She let out.

Issei was filled with such strong emotion, Lorgar why here giving him a reason to fight? Konrad herself was amazed by how much matured Lorgar was showing. She lay him down on the ground.

"It's okay to fail, but it's wrong to do nothing about it, so rise above it Issei, because I know you can get over these trials, you'll rise because you are the harem king." Lorgar said, leaving a jaw-dropped Issei. Vulkan watched as she sat down by a tree and gave Issei a nod.

He got up to his feet and felt so pumped up. "She's right I'm human and there's nothing wrong with that, damn I fail until I get it right." Issei knew he wasn't perfect so why was he trying to force himself? Though he still holds them close to his heart, he needed to step for himself.

Issei slowly walked to his sword and reached down for it. He dusted it off, gripping the sword in his hand in an iron grip, and pointed it at the Khan. Issei's eye narrowed at the blade, it didn't deserve to be on the ground, it should be held and ready for battle.

"I'm a fool so let's keep trying until I get this right." His eyes were lit with blazing determination. The Khan chuckled at Issei, All he just needed was the right encouragement. The wind started to pick up as the two stared at each other. The Khan flashed at Issei sending a power slash in his direction, Issei blocked the blade but found himself being pushed to the very brink of his own strength. Issei felt as if a bullet train had made a head-on collision with him. His legs were buried into the ground, the sound of grinding metal echoing in his ears as sparks started to pop off their swords grinding against one another. The Khan gazed him dead in the eye with a happy instance gaze, with an adrenaline-full smile. Issei gritted his teeth back holding the Khan assault.

"Issei you our possibly the one thing to kill my boredom." The Khan said.

"And you are here to teach me so do that again." Issei growled. The Khan laughed as she swung again and struck at Issei again nailing him deeper into the ground.

"I will be glad to aid you but expect the next few days to be a living hell." The wind started to gust around them as a storm was approaching them. Lighting would be stuck but not from the cloud; That honor would go to the Khan alone. Lorgar drew an Issei fighting a hawk covered by the storm.

She watches from the distance, with a strange telescope. The Solitaire had found her target, she could see them from afar. She hid within the shadows of the tall hills, Her mask hid her bewildered face. It was like nothing she had ever seen. No warp, no magic, it was new. She needed to get this boy back to the library so they would know what he is. Keeping an eye on him the Solitaire wanted to pluck him from the grasp of the Emperor's spawn.

Issei was not lying on the ground but he was weakly standing up as the Khan still stood stall, her stance was tenser, and all this fighting made her not underestimate her opponent. Lorgar stood from her stop and gave a mighty shout.

"You can do this Issei." She shouted in a supporting voice. Konrad found her sister to be more caring. Konrad couldn't help but look at Issei, every sense they met him, he cured Angron of her butcher nails, Showed Konrad hope and Now Lorgar seemed to be acting more mature and cheerful. Konrad gazed to see The Khan smiling in joy seeing how her usually calm and tranquil sister smirking in joy was strange. Her heart beat so fast thinking of how steadfast Issei was.

The Khan made a fast downward strike, as did Issei matched her speed with his own. The blade clashed once more this time making a small shock wave bounce from the two. The Khan was still standing while Issei held his ground. She slowly shifted into a stance and moved so fast that Issei's eyes were latched on to her afterimage. The Khan strikes Issei with a force that could smash a dreadnought. The sword of the Khan pushed Issei down to the ground, Issei in swift action sliced at The Khan's hand cutting the back side of her left hand.

The Khan still pushed the blade deeper into his chest, his armor still held back the blade. Issei in a risky move gripped the blade with his hands and slowly forced it away from him, the two were locked in a tug of war.

Lorgar was on the edge of her seat, wanting Issei to win his training match.

"Fight him back my love!" Konrad yelled. Vulkan went wide-eyed at what Konrad said. While the Khan realized what her sister meant.

"They're already in a relationship, my word Issei, you work fast." She thought. Vulkan was deeply happy that Konrad could find love and look at what wonders it was doing, she was so happy.

"Love?" She said, then at that moment The Khan halted her attack, giving Issei the chance to push the Khan off him and charge at her moving his blade to her throat and holding it there. The Khan stopped moving as Issei held the blade with an iron grip.

"Check mate!' Issei said. The Khan laughed at Issei as she tapped Issei's shoulder.

"That ends the match." The Khan said. Issei took a giant sigh of relief, He still held himself high but his legs refused to stand.

"It's always an uphill battle with you guys." Issei said.

"Always expect that every battle Issei nothing is easy." She said. The Khan's gaze soon fell upon Konrad who swiftly help Issei stand. The Khan gave a soft chuckle seeing how much joy was in Konrad's hand.

"So it is true, Konrad, I've never thought you would take a liking to anybody." The Khan said. Konrad only gave her sister a soft gaze.

"I don't like Issei, I refuse to say such childish words, I love him." She said, making Issei blush bright red. Vulkan herself found her words to be very powerful and never would have thought to hear such a kind thing.

"If you need any words about the bedroom, I could aid you with some of my knowledge, I know our size doesn't make it easy." Issei had blushed brighter at The Khan's words. He gawked in surprise.

"That will not be needed Khan, I wish to explore that on my own, also Issei is not ready for that part of our relationship." She said. Issei shyly looked away but had a goofy smile.

"Yeah not too ready for that, I would also like to take her on a date before we do anything too serious." Issei said. Konrad respected that at how he wanted to take the time with her. It was what made him so worthy of her. The Khan put away her blade and gave Issei a hard stare.

"Training is not done Issei we still have much to go."

The next days became a blur for Issei. It was clockwork for him, fighting, training, weight lifting, endurance; all of it. Lorgar was always by Issei's side encouraging him to go on. Konrad began to sneak into Issei's room and sleep with him. When sleeping he's training with Que, who always kept him on his feet. Though at this moment Issei was in his room waiting for the night to go move along. Though one issue seemed to always pop up, he couldn't fly, not being able to find a pair of wings, It was all frustrating to him. He was able to take hits by the Khan and not to mention all of his tricks would only work once against Fulgrim. Issei lay in his bed being hugged by Konrad while she was asleep. He needed to know more about his opponent; he was going in blind. Issei got up from his bed, while moving so quietly as to not wake her and took a long walk down the halls. He needed some water. As he walked down the halls he could see glowing light from the crack of the mess hall doors. He opened the door to the mess hall to see Sanguinius seating alone at a table, she always had a bright golden glow to her, which always made her so eye-catching. It had been sometimes seen he saw her. If he know any better he would say she was avoiding him. There was something so alluring about her that made Issei almost not trust her. He did shake off the ridiculous hunch.

Issei knocked on the door, snapping the angel to face. Her heart stopped at the mere sight of him, though her inner thirst didn't flare which was good. She had to watch herself carefully.

"Take a deep breath, there are no cuts on him." She thought. Issei had found a drink and sat at the same table as her.

"Sorry I just need a drink of water, I'm not interrupting anything am I," Issei asked. She gave a wave of her hand. She could see how hard the boy was working, while he did have tried breath; it was obvious he was training but for what was the question?

"Of course not, But what irks you so tonight." She asked. Issei took a long tired sigh. He glanced up at her hoping he could trust her.

"Hey, can you keep a secret?" She of course gave a playful nod.

"Okay, I challenged Fulgrim to a duel because she was bad-talking Angron and I don't know anything about her." Issei admits. Sanguinius was surprised by the news.

"A Duel changed by him, my, my Fulgrim I thought your pride would ever allow that, hmm guess the boy gets under her skin." She thought. Maybe she could lend some aid to Issei for possible help. Glancing towards her side hoping to see no one there.

"Well the match seems to not be in your favor, I guess a little help to you wouldn't cause any harm." She jested, Issei looked up hoping to get an answer a lot of times when he asked the others their response would always be that Fulgrim was a master swordsman and how when she fought it looked like dancing.

"Fulgrim is a skilled swordsman, but out of all of us, she has the strongest regenerative capabilities." She said, Issei's eyes widen which means she could health from her wounds fast. "And she does have a weakness for being perfect but you didn't hear that from me."

Issei felt the puzzles start to line up, a grand plan forming in his mind to take her down. He looked towards Sanguinius and gave a polite bow. "Thank you Sanguinius I owe you so much."

She chuckled at his humbleness and gave a calm nod back, she stood up wanting to leave the room wanting to keep him safe from herself.

"Wait!" Issei shouted before she could leave. She stopped and faced him seeing he determined a flare in his eyes. "Could I possibly just look at your wing once," He asked. She saw no harm in the action and flashed them off, she held them out so Issei could gaze at them. After a couple of seconds, he gave a polite bow and ran off into the hall. She watched as he dated off to his room.

"Uh, how strange." She thought.

Issei ran back to his room to see Konrad was wide awake. She had a confused gaze on him.

"Why did you leave?" Konrad asked, Issei jumped in the bed and gave her a peck on the check.

"Sorry I had to think about the fight, and I made a plan to beat her." Issei said. Konrad went wide-eyed.

"What is it?" She asked, Issei leaned into her ear and gave a silent whisper. Konrad gave a mischievous smile, though it quickly vanished.

"Are you sure that would work?" Issei gave her a kiss on the cheek and gazed into her eyes.

"We can only hope," he said. Konrad cuddles Issei close to him so that he can get a good night's sleep. Issei took a deep breath, letting his eyes close.

"I found the right material for my wings. Now I need an expert to help me make them." He thought. The two drifted off into tried bliss. While Konrad drifted into peace, Issei dreamed about battle soon yet to come. Though both held each other close.

Deep within rock and earth the coffin that was cracked, stood still in the calm cave. The coffin stood still. What would happen to the old coffin, what would happen, would it be opened by the shadows or would it fall away into nonexistence of the mind? As the world around them cracked more and more the coffin stirred.

Crack!

The handle to the coffin fell off and hit the ground making a loud thud. The air had been cold and the stone floor shook from the pressure of anger that came from the coffin. The stone coffin door shot off embedding itself in the cave wall. An old dusty mist flushed out of the broken coffin. Then a bright white light shines out of the dark abyss. She slowly stepped out of the coffin.

She weekly stood out from her tomb. The slim face was welcomed by the dark cave. Her eyes were a bright white with no iris, and she was twice the of a man, with mighty wings that even put Sanguinius, even though they were smaller, the quality and beauty outmatched them. Her glowing white hair made her look divine, while a burning halo was above her head. The clothes she wore were old and dirty, a white tunic warp around her body. In her left hand was a flaming sword that burned with holy justice. The sleeper was now woken.

"Father." She whispered quietly and brokenly. She was taking deep breaths recalling everything that had happened to her. She slowly gripped her sword as her knuckles cracked in anger.

"Father." She said again her voice held more irritation. Her wings fluttered ready to take off.

"FATHER YOU BETRADE ME, FATHER." She screamed. The cave shook just by the tone of her voice. The angel was awakened and her rage was unleashed into the world. She stopped when she felt the presence of the others.

"Others?" Her voice hurt. "You made others, to replace me."

Her fist tightened so much that the air started to crack, and she became bright like a burning star. Her father the Emperor was a liar she was made to clean and destroy others who had the taint of the warp, That's all she had left, with rageful eyes. She gripped her sword and opened her mighty wings. A light of death was awakened and it was planning on seeing the others. In a mad whisper, she utters her words of vengeance.

"I need to reacquaint myself with them and then I'll be the only one standing."

And that is the final training chapter to the training ark, now the match can begin. Now you're probably wondering who this Angel is well her name Is "the Angel" She is pretty much a prototype Matriarch. She was made to be a mini Emperor that followed orders with no question. The Emperor locked her away because she to her orders literally and destroyed an entire city, She also thought all warp was evil, she saw all humanity as corporate and killed anything with the warp in it. So she locked away until the "He Who Made Dark." message woke her up. There will be a reaction chapter coming out tomorrow and also I had some thoughts of doing a Record of Ragnarok that would be probably out next month.
