Chapter 26: Blood has been Spilled.

Issei and Horus talked for hours about their adventure and story. They sat side by side enjoying each other's company. Issei sat down cross-legged with a confused look.

"So they call themself the Mechanica and they worship machines?" Issei asked.

"Yes, but they worship the Omnissiah who they believe runs through all mechanical devices. They believe the flesh is weak and replace limbs and organs with mechanical implants. Their ways seem strange but they are extraordinary with making machines." Horus explains the idea of the Mechanica to Issei. Issei wanted to know more about the imperium of man. So she decided to work her charm and be a guide.

"Yeah, but it sounds a bit crazy, replacing your organs oh jeez what's wrong with the human body," Issei said not loving the idea.

"Issei don't judge your only weapons manufacturer, especially when they can maintain an emperor-class titan," Horus explained. He felt a sense of intrigue.

"Emperor-class titan?" Issei asked. Horus smiled at the idea of him seeing the glory of man controlling a machine of war. "When you see your first forge world you'll understand."

Issei laid back down on his hay bed. The many times he started a conversation with the Matriarch a word seemed to pop up that made it sidetrack into another discussion. Though he wanted to know a little more about his world perhaps he could talk about that.

"So you guys have been here for a month, did you see any other cool spots or crazy things?" Issei asked. Horus began to reminisce of the wildlife and landscapes, most times peaceful and all seemed to blur together, yet one did stand out in her memory.

"There was a spot when the sky used to be gray. It was a giant waterfall and the water was so clear that it reflected the sky making the water look gray. I know it sounds simple but I found it to be oddly astonishing." She admired. He appreciated her choice, it did sound silly but there is a grand beauty to being simple. He held his sword tight which was still on his hip.

"Horus what's your father like, I mean really like, I get so many conflicting stories about the guy. To Angron he was horrible, to Vulkan, a great man. I mean who is the guy?"

Horus knew how important the question was and in all fairness, there was more to her father, than even she could say.

"He's a very complicated man but all of his actions are only to inspire and improve humanity. You see, out of all of us I was the first to meet him."

Horus remembered the tales of her separation from her father. "You see our father told us, When we were but infants, a warp storm had separated all of us far from our father's site. Though in time we were reunited again."

"So why all the hate for Angron? I mean I could tell a lot of you looked down upon her." Issei said. Horus couldn't argue with his words.

"It is true that many of us did look down upon her, Issei. When most of us landed on our homeworld, most of us conquered our worlds and made them better. While Angron's circumstances made it hard for her to achieve that." Horus said. The reason infuriated him.

"Jeez, family gathering sounds like a pain." Issei quoted. She tiredly rubbed her face.

"You have no idea." She muttered. Issei found it very strange that some of the Matriarchs conquered their homes, especially Vulkan, with her kind gentle attitude it seemed not true.

"Heck Sanguinius doesn't seem like the conquering type," Issei said. The matriarch that sat next to him laughed.

"Don't let her angelic appearance fool you, out of all of us. She's the most skilled duelist to ever cross the galaxy." Issei was a bit surprised by the news, thinking of a wolf in sheep's clothing metaphor.

"But her wings look so soft," Issei said in confusion.

"Those wings can slice through ceramite armor. She holds such beauty that it's an advantage for herself. Her homeworld was originally a death world." Before Issei could ask. Horus beat him to the punch.

"A death world is considered in the Imperium, very dangerous, almost inhabitable, but some people endure them. She was able to change her home and make it better. She introduced art and culture to the people. She is quite amazing." Hours said funding over her sister's accomplishments. Issei could see she was remembering happy times, but he still had one more question to ask.

"I have one more question." Horus turned her head towards him. "What's up with the wings, she is like an angel or something."

"In all honesty, I believe she was mutated on her home planet to a degree, there was a lot of radiation on the world, and her wings are a bit confusing because they lack any real aerodynamic logic behind them, I mean how much she weighs and lack of size wings to match it is a bit mind-boggling." She thought about trying to find some reason behind it, but at the end of the day, they all truly accepted it.

"Ha, you called her fat!" Issei said. Horus snorted at his words.

"All that power locked in a silly boy, what bizarre time we live in," Horus said. The two realized I'd been talking for such a long time that they needed the rest.

Issei let his armor fall off his body. The metal gauntlets sunk into the darkness. Horus found it to be unsettling, more due to how the dark was now his weapon. He walked over to his straw accommodations and gently laid down his back facing Horus.

"Good night, don't let the Eldar bite." Issei fooled while drifting into a helpless slumber.

Horus moved to the door and laid her head back on the wall. She put on her war claw and waited by the door. One day she hoped their father would find them soon. Humanity was on the line and what of the crusade without its greatest generals? She did wonder when they got back where would Issei make himself in this strange unknown time. Only the hands of fate could decide.

Sanguinius, No, to call her Sangunius in this low moment would be an insult to her incredible past image. She soared through the halls, her wings craving the wooden and stone walls. The madness of blood had ripped into her mind. The blood that Issei carried was beyond that of a normal human being. It intoxicated her and brought her such joy and relief to just suckle at the drops of red on the spear. Her mind was jumbled with a voice of madness. She roughly slammed her feet onto the floor. The beast moaned over the idea of sinking its teeth into his soft flesh. The sound of light thumps and the ambiance of familiarity hit her. Guilliman walked down the poorly-lit hall. The torches on the wall were slowly fading; she reckoned that they would be extinguished by the morrow. Sanguinius held her head down and calmly strolled further. The beast didn't want any suspicious sights on her. In one motion her wings had wrapped around her whole body. Functioning as a white cloak around her. The smell of her fellow sister's blood was insulting to her senses. After the taste of Issei, nothing could compare to it. There was a divine taste to it. usually in this debacle state, she wouldn't have cared where the blood came from, only that there was to devour. In this new state of mad yearning, she only craved one; who was currently locked in the dungeon. The angel clicked her teeth and moved faster to avoid anyone seeing her.

As Guilliman further into the halls, she thought about their current situation. Thinking that it is feasible that they would spend their time exploring more of this unknown world. After witnessing the buildings, could there possibly be more, more resources to get them off this world? She couldn't rule out the impossible anymore, not when it was occurring right in front of her. Walking down the dark corridor she noticed someone was ahead in her path. She recognized the wing and put it together, that her sister Sanguninius was in front of her.

"Hello sister, what brings you here?" Guilliman asked. Sanguinius did not speak nor turned her head to face her sister, she only kept walking at a faster pace trying to move further. Guilliman found the action to be strange; she kept up with her pace. Guilliman tried to glimpse her face but her wings hooded her.

"Sister, is everything alright?" Guilliman asked though she could hear the ragged breath emanating from her. The angel stopped and spoke in a whisper.

"I'm fine, sister pay no mind to me."

"Sister what is wrong-" Guilliman words halted as her eyes caught on to the spear in Sanguinius's hand, splattered in blood. "What are you holding, whom's blood is that."

She growled in a demonic beast voice warning her to not go further. Guilliman felt the air turn cold with tension. Her hand gripped the blade not seeing her sister but something else vampiric. Her wings lowered to show her eyes were now a ghoulish white. Guilliman had only noticed how pale and weak she looked. It was like that time when she passed out for no reason.

"I wouldn't do that sister." She warned. Her voice was like a knife sharp and unforgiving. "I only want one blood and it's not yours… But I'm willing to make an exception."

"What is wrong with you!" She asked in concern. The blood angel ignored her and kept walking. Guilliman reached out to stop her but a rapid swing of Sanguinius's spear swatted her hand away. Guilliman was pushed into the wall, finding an arm pinning her throat.

"Don't get in my way!" Her voice shook the room. Guilliman tried to reach for her sword but found her other hand pinned by Sanguinius. Guilliman found her strength and forced it back. She choked out an answer.

"Yo-ur, No-t my si-ste-r!"

The red thirst angel smiled. Pushing her further into the wall. She chuckled showing her now sharp fangs. That could rip flesh apart with ease.

"Now sister that's not a thoughtful thing to say, all I am is craving for one's blood, not yours." She crushed Guilliman under her grip. "However make a sound to alert the others and I shall end you."

Guilliman weighed her options, though she needed to know who her target was. The wrong person could equal disaster for them. Guilliman stopped struggling and with her action felt Sanguinius lessen. She could see the madness in her sister's eyes. Guilliman figured that she must have been sick, with what was unknown to her. She needed to help her and call for help she would.

"Who are you after?" Guilliman asked in a steady voice. Sanguinius smirked at her question and inched closer to her face.

"Now where is the fun in that." She answered. Backing away and letting her go, her wings flashed out in a show of intimidation. Guilliman was not fazed in the slightest; In truth, she was more worried about her sister's condition. She stood her ground and brought her sword up.

"I will not let you pass, understand me!" Guilliman said. Sanguinius laughed at the stance.

"Now I warned you." She said. Guilliman knew she was outmatched but if she caused a big enough disturbance, the others would come and subdue the great warrior. Guilliman charged with her sword out in hopes of pushing back her sister. Guilliman was met with a punch to the head that forced her to the ground; it was as if a Leman battle tank was mashed into her face. Cutting into her right cheek.

"Die now, for you took on a task more than you can handle." She said in a hushed whisper. She raised her spear and was gonna plunge it deep into Gilliman's chest.

She stopped and inches away from piercing her armor. The sound of slow footsteps approached them.

Bump!

Bump!

Bump!

Bump!

Bump!

"Then perhaps I could assist her in this matter." Rogal Dron said, walking out of the dim darkness. Rogal calmly held her chain sword. Sanguinius smiled at the new challenger that approached. Rogal could see something was influencing their sister to act this way, she would restrain her the best she could.

"Well, I welcome the challenge, but I prefer it if you step out of the way. Dear loyal sister." Sanguinius ordered in a harsh venomous tone of voice. Rogal gave a silent glare as her answer.

"If it's gonna be like that then-." Sanguinius grabbed Guilliman by the throat, lifting her off the ground.

"Catch!" She tossed Guilliman at Rogal who easily dogged her sister. Unfortunately, she crashed through the wall, breaking inches of wood and stone, until she was outside. Guilliman fell from the third story, crashing into the muddy ground as the raindrops pelted her from behind. She quickly got up and looked at the hole she fell from.

She drew her blade and ran around to reach the front doors. Unknownst to her a certain alien entertainer, watched from afar, enjoying the show.

"I'll let them do the hard work." She said, sitting down and smiling at the site under her mask.

Back in the building.

Rogal still holds her ground as her sister leaps toward her with an animalistic scream. Rogal tries to slam the broad side of her chain sword, smacking Sanguinius in the face. Pushing her sister back. In retaliation, she threw her spear at Rogal's shoulder.

Rogal stepped out of the way. This action allowed her to gain the advantage. Sanguinius flew straight at Rogal grabbing her by the face. Rogal tried to pry Sanguiniuns off her face. With hysterical super matriarch strength, she tossed Rogal around wildly, smashing her against the walls, floors, and ceiling. She tossed Rogal through the floor crashing down below.

Perturabo was working hard on the communications device. It was the most important job of them all. She spent hours connecting wires, figuring out hard drives, and decrypting these old data ports. She found it relaxing to make something not for war. The queen of iron would not rush; in truth, she was having a very relaxing time.

Unexpectedly, CRASH! Rogal came crashing through the ceiling and smashed into the stone floor. Perturabo's attention was now locked on Rogal who lay on the floor.

Rogal quickly got up and ran out of the door, heading back to confront her beloved sister. The Queen of Iron was left baffled at what just transpired. She walked over to gaze at the hole Rogal made to see it reached the third floor. Her project could wait as she pursued Rogal.

Horus heard a loud crash while Issei slumbered. She held her battle mass tightly wondering if they had been breached. She should check what is tapping out there, but knowing the risk to leave Issei alone would be a significant moment for that Eldar to strike.

"It's alright I know Rogal and Perturabo we're in this fortress, not to mention Sanguinius as well, she knew how skilled of a combatant she was, if there was any trouble to show, she would surely take care of them." Horus thought she gazed down at the sleeping Issei wondering what he was dreaming. What did the man out of time dream about? She thought. Deep within Issei's mind, he was talking to a typical individual.

Guilliman smashed through the barricades of the front entrance. She sliced the door open and the logs that held the door back.

She soon elbowed her entire shoulder, busting through the corridor, and entering the main auditorium. She quickly rolled into a stance and ran upstairs to try and cut off her sister. Soon she did find her sister who flew at 80 per mile speed straight into the leader of Ultramar. Flinging her back into a wall. While Sanguinius crashed down on the giant steps.

The two slowly got up and stared down at each other.

"My, my looks, who's back, I can't say you didn't try." She said as her wings pushed out, cutting the railing by her sides.

"Sister you're not well, I see we are beyond words but I will hold you back," Guilliman said only holding love and worry in her voice. Sanguinius leaped at the door that lead to Horus and Issei. Guilliman with great haste pushed the angel with all her strength away from the door. Sanguinius grabbed Guillimans shoulders and pushed her to the ground. In swift action to pry this feral beast of herself, she stabbed Sanguiniusin the gut, Though it failed to subdue only making her more angry.

Sanguinius grabbed Guilliman's face and mashed her head through the floor. The matriarch was in a little daze but still held awake. Guilliman was out of her element but still would fight.

Sanguinius raised her gloved fist and prepared to strike.

"THAWK!" Was the sound of Sanguinius getting hit by Rogal's fist. Pushing Guilliman off her sister and into the wall. Rogal helped Guilliman to her feet.

"What has happened to Sanguinius?" Asked Rogal who held her ground. Guilliman held a glare at their sick sister.

"I have no idea but we must stop her, She trying to get to Issei," Guilliman said putting all the pieces that were in front of her. Rogal had an annoyed look.

"It always has something to do with that boy," Rogal said almost sounding like a joke.

Sanguinius slowly rose to her feet and snarled her teeth at them, as a ghoulish growl spurted from the back of her throat. The two were ready for the next attack.

"Hold her at bay, capture her, and make sure she remains disarmed," Guilliman said the plan. Rogal gave a stoic nod. Sanguinius looked down at the weapon lodged in her gut. She gripped the handle of the blade and pulled it out. She dragged the blade across the ground enraged at the two. Guilliman then took a heavy sigh.

"Well, a new plan, we disarm her, hold her at bay and capture her," Guilliman said. Sanguinius flew into the air, her blade ready to cut. Her sword aimed at Rogal's, She blurred at the builder wanting nothing more than to give death.

Then before she could make her attack on Rogal, she was met with a hail of bullets. Passing Rogal and Guilliman's heads. The attack made her fly upward and clung to the ceiling, she twisted her head around to see Perturabo with many bolter guns on her side, shoulder, and leg pointed at her. The Queen of Iron wore a silver knight skull mask, and the visor on the eyes was a light blue. She stood behind Rogal and Guilliman.

"Stand down Sanguinius, NOW!" She ordered. Sanguinius gave a wicked smile and gave a playful smirk as her eyes were riddled with delirium. "Make me."

None of them wanted to kill their sister but she acted frenzied. All of them wanted to hold her down and save her. Sanguinius jumped down heading right towards the three and used her wings to shield herself. Perturabo shot a barrage of heavy bolters around. Despite the forceful attack, her wings remind sturdy and now point outward. Perturabo quickly ducked as Sanguinius's wings sliced through the wall behind her. Perturabo quickly pointed her right wrist bolter at Sanguinius, but she reacted much faster grabbing the lord of iron's wrist and picking her entire body up, and throwing her at Rogal who was charging at her.

Rogal dipped under and brought down her sword on Sanguinius, she quickly counted the strike with her blade. The two began to parry the other's attack, though each slash was harder to block than the last for Rogal, there was such mad anger in Sanguinius' strikes. Guilliman ran outside to pick up a large log and charged right back into the fray.

Rogal was trying to hold back her sister's strength. As her chain sword was being pushed back to her chest and her back was to the wall. Sanguinius opened her mouth to show her vampiric teeth. Rogal realized she was trying to bite her neck. Rogal hands were stuck trying to push Sanguinius' blade back it seemed hopeless. Until Guilliman comes from behind with the giant tree truck log, hitting Sanguinius's side and breaking the wood in the approach.

Guilliman helped up Rogal.

"A log, really," Rogal asked in a baffled voice. Guilliman gave a half-lid look."It was that, or the table you made."

Rogal gave a begrudging nod. "Good choice." Rogal quickly passed her bolter to Guilliman, which she gladly took. Sanguinius stumbled up and could see the two making their move. She flew into the air and quickly divebombed towards them. Guilliman carefully aimed and shot a bolter round at Sanguinius's hand knocking the blade out of her hand. Sanguinius still flew at them dogging their strikes.

She grabbed the chain blade, the metal teeth digging into her armor. She then landed beside them. The grip she held on Rogal's chain sword was able to pierce through, ripping into her delicate palm and making it drenched in blood. She waved her hand in front of Rogal's eyes, making her blood splat on her eyes, blinding Rogal.

Sanguinius then raged into a bloody fury. throwing a flurry of punches at Rogal. Perturabo smashed into Sanguinius. Pinning her to the ground. Guilliman saw this as their chance and jumped into the fray holding down Sanguinius's right arm. Rogal quickly followed suit holding down Sanguinius's left arm. Perturabo smashed her knee pad into Sanguinius's chest breaking one of her red eyes.

She let out a monstrous roar trying to free herself but found she couldn't move.

"This is for your own good," Perturabo said cocking her fist, on the back of her elbow armor a rocket thruster popped out. Perturabo threw a punch so fast it broke the sound barrier straight at the red thirst Sanguinius. She was rendered unconscious, all of them still held to the ground. Catching their breaths glance at each other.

"She won't be like this for long," Perturabo said.

"We have to restrain her quickly," Rogal said but didn't want to move from her spot. Guilliman lowered her head and muttered.

"We need Magnus but we can't risk leaving her like this, she'll wake up and will have to deal with this nightmare again," Guilliman said.

"Then how do we call for her, without leaving-" Perturabo was cut off by Guilliman of all people.

"MAGNUS!" Guilliman yelled loud as she could. Rogal and Perturabo had confused looks on their faces.

"What are you doing?" Rogal asked.

"Do you two have any other idea how to get Magnus while not letting go of her." She said with an angered glare. There was a long pause of silence, the two deeply thought about it. Then in a rare moment, they both looked at each and sighed.

"MAGNUS!" they all cried out making their voice be heard throughout the fortress.

Horus could hear the cries for Magnus and could no longer wait, she rushed out of the door and slammed it closed, and locked it. She ran through the cold hall. She was making great haste upward to the main lobby. Horus had seen the massive destruction that the main part of the building had suffered. Horus thought It was as if a great battle had taken place here.

"MAGNUS!" Hours heard her sister's cry, pinning an unconscious Sanguinius to the ground. Horus felt her rage boil at their sister's action. What were they doing, it was dishonorable, three against one. Now they held her down like some sort of animal. Horus and Sanguinius out of all their sisters had the greatest bond out of all their sisters. They were one of the deadliest forces together in the great crusade. They held each other with high hope and dreams. Now seeing Sanguinius like this made Horus furious. What's worse the suspects are the ones less likely to attack their sister for no reason.

"WHAT IS HAPPING HERE!" She asked her voice carrying such earth-breaking anger. Guilliam turned her head to see Horus approach them, Guilliman's grip on Sanguinius's left arm lessened slightly. This proved to be an unwise choice.

Sanguinius's eyes snapped open like she was brought back to life. Showing Perturabo her dead white eyes. Perturabo was about to devilry another powerful strike until Sanguinuis smashed Guilliman into her sisters freeing herself. As her wings pushed her off the ground, while also making some distance away from the other three and more near the door where Horus came from.

She slowly hunched into a wild stance. Seeing the three stood their ground. She roared at them her angelic voice distorted. Her wings flapped so hard that a mighty gust of air pushed some of her sisters back.

"Sanguinius!" Horus called out hoping her voice would break this wicked curse. Horus now gained the attention of her monster's sister.

"Please enough come back to us," Horus begged for her to stop. "You are not this, break away from it sister."

Sanguinius halted and took deep breaths. Horus took this as her chance and walked around Sanguinius, her back facing, Rogal, Guilliman, and Perturabo. All the while she faces her beloved sister. Sanguinius white eyes followed Horus, even though the red thirst was in control, some ounce of Sanguinius still remembered Horus.

Horus left hand gestured behind her back, to make sure the others wouldn't rush in. Rogal felt a bit uneasy but would allow this.

"Plea-se sist-er he-lp m-e." She forced out in a broken voice. All of them watched as Sanguinius slowly was bought back to normal, though she held her head down.

"Anything, just sit down," Horus asked.

"Only one thing can make it stop!" She said in a rush. trying to make her point across fast. Guilliman held her bolter tight and pointed it at Sanguinius's leg. She knew now what she truly wanted was Issei, Guilliman had figured out the pieces and assembled the puzzle. Horus slowly stepped forward.

"And what's that?" Horus asked, ready to subdue her again. Sanguinius didn't speak as her arms quickly snapped wildly. As her neck cracked like a mad puppet, tangled in its own strings. Her head snapped back up showing her vampiric face.

"I want that little freak blood." Sanguinius quickly flew so fast, for a brief second, they thought The Khan ran by them. Guilliman tried to take the shot but dodged the shot completely avoiding them and into the dark hallway which led to Issei. Horus gave chase and ran down into the underground halls.

Sanguinius flew through the hall, her wings slicing through the giant wooden support beam, after cutting into the first five support beams to the underground hall. She soon stopped her destruction and ran towards the door as her wings flexed back into place.

The roof soon collapsed causing a cave stopping where the beams were not cut. Horus stopped and looked at the mile wall of stone, dirt, and large ore. She quickly started to dig at the wall, her power claw digging into the wall.

She pushed on it to try and push her away though. An ounce of fear entered her mind not wanting to fail. Rogal Dorn and Guilliman did the same digging into the wall. Making good progress, they feared they would be too late. Perturabo, who watched them dig, did the math in her mind.

"We won't make it in time, she'll reach Issei." Perturabo thought. Horus kept digging as if her life depended on it.

"I'll save you both, hang on!"

Issei was woken up by a loud crash. He was talking to Que about a new move but he was woken up by the loud crash. He slowly got up and looked around the room, not seeing. Horus was not in the room.

"That's odd," Issei said to himself. She tried to think where Horus could have gone. Though all this noise that woke him could be a clue for him, Issei slowly walked to the door and tried to push it open.

"Dang it, it's locked," Issei said. Well, he slowly accepted this. Knowing he was grounded in a manner. He thought about smashing the door but he guessed Vulkan made it. Anything he would have hated to make Vulkan anywhere near disappointed. Issei wondered when Magnus would show up, right now he was alone and hated that feeling. Issei gave a tired sigh.

He would have given anything to not feel so alone, he wished for some company. He sat down in the corner and tried to relax.

"It's fine Issei, that wired alien clown thing, isn't gonna be able to get you." Issei thought. So he would wait for Horus to come back. Trying to reinforce that he was safe.

While waiting for Horus, a new arua snapped his attention at the door. A feeling of euphoria and uncontrollable mad rage flooded the space. It made Issei's blood run cold, his muscle tightening out of stress. Issei could see the shadows around him waving out of control, popping off the ground. He could feel the air around him pressure down on him; Issei swore it felt as if teeth were bearing down on him.

The shadows around Issei began to scream at him.

"Run! She seeks you!"

"The monster is coming after you!"

"BLOOD SHE WANT'S YOUR BLOOD!"

Issei had to cover his ear to avoid the ear-ripping screams of warning. He stood up and balled his fist.

"Knock it off, who's coming?" Issei asked. A loud bang hit the giant metal door. Shaking the room and making Issei jump out of fear.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

"Issei~ Oh won't you let me in" The voice of Sanguinius called out. Issei could tell something was wrong with her tone of voice was off, it was almost gargling her voice as it didn't sound like her at all. He stood still and slowly walked away from the door.

"Issei~ I can hear you." She called out in a playful voice. Issei refused to speak but could feel his heart pounding in terror. Then he felt a drop of sweat on the side of his head. He gulped nervously as his hand hovered over his sword.

"I can smell your fear, sweet little Issei, Don't worry I just want to keep you company, I know how hard it must be for you to be alone~" She teased. As the sound of slowly clawing at metal filled Issei with dread. Issei thought this was worse when he met Mortarion. He found the words inside himself to speak.

"I'm supposed to be guarded by Horus." Issei answer. Finally speaking but left that he made the wrong choice. After he spoke, a long looming silence settled in the space. He took a step back afraid of what was happing. A Issei had a sudden hit of déjè vu. Thinking of Angron's first interaction.

"Sanguinius," Issei called out.

"Issei…. Won't you die for me?" Then the door suddenly burst open, the metal door flying off its hinges and passing Issei. Hitting the wall behind him, embedding itself in the stone. The chains shook from the gust from the flying door. Issei's eyes were glued to the hallway seeing it was blocked off by rock and stone. Though one stood in the dim light provided by torches. Sanguinius ran forward at Issei with blazing speed. Issei watched her monstrous form come to him.

"Shadow up!" Issei shouted as fast as he could. Instaley the shadows around Issei warped around him to make a more heavy armor. Sanguinius grabbed Issei by the chest, he felt the grip trying to crush his torso. Issei felt his back hit the stone wall behind him. The teen was sent on a ride as Sanguinius pulled Issei off the wall and thrashed around. He tried to pull off Sanguinius's hand but each time he gripped her fingers, Sanguinius would push Issei in the head. Yet all his armor did not dent at all, proving its toughness against Sanguinius. Quickly Issei formed a plan for his next move.

When Sanguinius tried to swing Issei against the ceiling, Issei in great haste let the armor around his chest vanish, allowing him to slip out of Sanguinius's hand before he could hit the wall. Issei whipped under his ragged breath.

"Hole to the Unkown!" Then Issei fell into the great void, Sanguiniusgave chase but the hole to the abyss vanish. She steamed looking at her empty hands. Her voice echoed around the cave making it shake.

As Issei floated into the darkness, he quickly tried to take some deep breaths, he didn't mind his surroundings as he was already familiar with it. The shadows in the abyss touched his open torso. Issei let himself relax as the shadows cover him rebuilding the lost armor. He held his arms trying to think of what just happened. He wonder what was wrong with Sanguinius and how she acted like a monster. The wave she tried to get in his armor made him feel uncomfortable. Not to mention her beauty was now gone, replaced with a monster.

Issei wanted to help Sanguinius but he needed to find the others. He wondered where Magnus was. Is this a part of her plan, Issei grew only more confused. Has he had to find someone quickly?

"Magnus, are you there?" He asked in his mind. No response at all, he wonders if the realm he was in was interfering with his connection to Magnus.

"I'm not going back to that cave, I need to go outside!" Issei thought. He began to think about the outside of the building. Within seconds the shadows pulled him into a new opening of light. As he was pushed out into the void he landed on the soft grass. His eyes caught on the building behind him.

He was outside and felt the rain hit his armor. A storm was building up but he smiled with relief under his helmet. There was a slit in the helmet which allowed air to flow. He smiled as he gave the same mind message to Magnus.

"Magnus, are you there?" He asked. The young teen felt a psychic connection flood his mind. The feeling of her red touch made him feel safe.

"Issei, is that you what's going on? Tell me where you are." Magnus asked.

"I'm-." Issei was cut off when he felt an immense amount of pain in his mind. He mentally he was in pain, the only thing going through his mind was static; pure, agonizing static. Issei's ears could pick up familiar laughter, echoing from the woodlands behind him.

"I'm so sorry Mon'keigh but you still have a performance and your co-actress is waiting for you Ahahahaaha." The solitaire laughed in his mind. He had to shut off his mind and let the darkness shield him from this painful burden. Issei knew it was blocking his connection with Magnus, probably some way to get to him.

"Shoot, maybe I could teleport to her, with the shadows." Issei thought.

"Take me to Magnus~" He whispered to the abyss.

He took a deep breath as a shadow portal opened up for him. Issei began to walk to the opening in the void. Before Issei could enter, he heard a loud thud from the ground. Issei stopped and turned around to see no one in his sight.

He heard only again, this time feeling the ground under his feet quake, Issei then felt the area around him shake. The trees moved, the ground vibrating and Issei was almost losing his footing. Then a huge explosion as Sanguinius erupted from the earth. Her wing takes her to the sky above as she dead eye Issei; The wind from her wing was so strong it pushed Issei to fall on his back, and while losing concentration his shadow portal closed.

"ISSEI YOU CAN'T ESCAPE ME!" She shouted in an earth-shattering voice.

Sanguinius flew in the air high above. Like a hawk stalking its prey from above she bore down at the young teen. In a quick action, Issei summoned his wings and flew off the ground narrowingly dodging the flying matriarch. Issei fly high above as the rain drenched him more. Sanguinius gave chase straight at Issei. She rocketed right at Issei.

Issei quickly glimpsed over his shoulder already seeing Sanguinius was reaching out to grab him.

With great haste, he summoned a Fist of Dorn and spun around trying to nail Sanguinius in the face. Then his fist was caught by Sanguinius as she forced him close. As Issei struggled against her strength, Sanguinius opened her large mouth and tried to bite through his armor. Clapping down and targeting the neck area with wild hunger. Issei pulled back his head and headbutted Sanguinius in the face trying to break her grip.

She did not let go only holding tighter threatening to crush his upper body. Issei kept slamming his head at her delicate face. Breaking her beautiful feature though she did not let go.

"Fine chew on this…" Issei began to think of sharp blades. "Spiked Urgent!" Issei's body protrudes sharp black spikes stabbing into Sanguiniusm tearing the flesh from her fingers and burning her with his shadows, as a blue flame's sparked. Sanguinius had to let go of Issei, now falling to the ground his wings flew him some distance.

Issei faced Sanguinius in the above seeing how her wounds were already healed. Issei grumbled in annoyance.

"Right, godly like healing, damn your dad made sure you guys couldn't die." Issei thought. Sanguinius rushed at Issei and fists ready to bash his skull open. Issei kept his spikes out and dodged Sanguinius.

"Shadowboxing!" Issei said as a wave of shadow engulfed them. Sanguinius didn't care in her wild state. She kept attacking Issei with no care in the world. Though each, kick, punch, bite, and scratch had made no contact with Issei's body.

"Sanguinius please listen to me- Woah!" Issei said as the shadows pulled him away from Sanguinius's punch.

"You are not yourself, -OH GOD!" Issei said pulling away from a kick, that parted the clouds above.

"Please listen to..." Issei was cut off again, as she tried to bite at him again. He felt the last straw of his patient snap.

"THAT DOES IT, IM GONNA KICK YOUR ASS!" Issei pointed his hand at Sanguinius and ready a shadow shot at her.

"Shadow Shot!" Issei shouted as a blast of darkness hit Sanguinius in the face. Though she reminds unfazed as she charged at Issei. She kept trying to grab Issei but his Shadow boxing kept pulling him out of the way. Issei narrowed his eyes at the rapid Sanguinius.

"When are you gonna realize you can't hit-" Issei was cut off when the next attack she did graze him. Issei flew away running away.

"No way she keeping up!" Issei thought, thinking this might have been Sanguinius's warped form. It would have made sense but it didn't feel like; he could tell this was something else. His path was cut off when Sanguinius swooped under him and crashed her fist into him. The shadow tried to pull him back, making the strike not make full contact.

"Shadow Shot!" Issei fried another blast hitting Sanguinius square in the jaw. She stopped her next movement and spat out a tooth. Soon she met Issei with a death glare. This made the young teen, tense up a bit.

"Sorry," Issei said apologetically and sacredly as he quickly flew downward. The chase in the sky soon became an aerial battle.

On the ground below Rogal, Horus, Guilliman, and Perturabo all watched from above. Even with the dark rainy weather they could see the battle with their advanced vision. Perturabo hated what was transpiring all of these unknown variables were making her feel helpless. Soon others ran out as well, Lorgar, Angron, Konrad, and Fulgrim ran out of the giant hole in the building. Konrad gazed up in Horror seeing her beloved fight against Sanguinius.

"ISSEI!" She yelled out. Angron was lost wondering what happened, the plan was supposed to be for them to distract Horus, and now Sanguinius was this beast. All of them could only watch from afar as the battle was too high up for them to take part in. Fulgrim eyes widen at Sanguinius now seeing her in her ghoulish form had hurt her eyes.

"Dammint we can't get up there," Horus said.

"What has taken over Sanguinius, she becoming a monster," Rogal said, her voice hurt and enraged.

"Perhaps she was exposed to some sickness," Guilliman said. Perturabo disagreed and slammed her feet on the ground.

"Impossible Sanguinius never ate anything, here so it can't be that and the air shows no sign of a virus. It has to be something else entirely."

Horus had to let them know the truth about Sanguinius, if not it would end with distrust and hatred of their fellowship as siblings.

Horus with a heavy sigh looked at her sisters. "What she was always afflicted with this terrible burden."

All of their eyes were on a guilty Horus. Rogal stepped up to Horus's side and had an astounded gaze.

"You know of this?" She asked sounding hurt that Horus held this secret, Horus gave a sad nod. A ray of emotion flared through all of them and even questioned the respect they had for Horus. Though all of them pushed it aside and gave Horus their full attention.

"What is happing to our sister?" Rogal asked. Horus gazed up at the fight and sighed. Horus frowns deeply. Thinking of a memory. As one thing her sister said stuck with her. 'One day we will be done with all this.'

"She suffered from a mutation, called the red thirst, she will sometimes feel an uncontrollable urge to drink blood and eat flesh," Hours gave a small chuckle. "It never was a problem for her to control it, though ever since Issei made contact with her, she had been acting strange.

Guilliman remembered when Sanguinius had her collapse. Angron now realized why she felt envy come off her sister that day and it made her only sadden to her such a thing. Konrad and Lorgar recalled when they brought Issei and Angron back to the base, on the trip back they couldn't help but notice how Sanguinius kept her eyes on Issei. It had all made sense now their sister was suffering. Though not one of them blamed Sanguinius for keeping this to herself, now all of them wanted to help her and they would do it together.

"What do we do now?" Lorgar asked.

"I won't let her drain him!" Konrad stated.

"I'll bring her down, the rest of you subdue her, it's the least we could do for her."

Then from out of the darkness Corvus said as she walked out of the shadows. All of them looked at her, seeing the logic in her plan. Though Horus and Corvus had many disagreements with each other, she couldn't argue with her idea.

"Fine, everyone, we must prepare for this great battle," Horus said. Corvus held her stance ready to fly before she could leave the ground. Konrad gazed at her with hopeful eyes.

"Please make sure you get her away from Issei," Konrad asked. With a noble bow of her head, she promised silently. Corvus activates her jetpack and rockets it off in the sky.

Issei kept eluding each attack. Sanguinius was getting close every time, creeping closer to hit his armor. All of his Shadow shots kept hitting her, yet she remained unphased and unrelenting in her action to kill Issei.

"Dammit I can't use Blackout, it would cost too much energy, and if messed up he would be a sitting duck." Issei thought. Sanguinius was going in for another strike. Then Corvus in jet-fast speed rammed into her, bumping her away from Issei. The young teen was happy to see a friendly face. He couldn't help but feel at ease. The Matriarch also noticed him glad he was okay.

He flew over to Corvus and gave her a concerned look.

"What the heck is going on!" He asked. Corvus turned to face.

"There is no time to explain, we have to bring her to the ground so the others can suppress her. We have to ground her." Corvus said.

"Okay, what's the plan?" Issei asked. There was a long uncomfortable amount of silence coming from Corvus.

"What's the plan!" Issei asked, not enjoying the silence at all. "THERE'S NO PLAN!"

The two had to fly away from each other as Sangunius bolted toward the two. As they both split it off, Sanguinius only followed Issei trying to rip him apart. Issei found himself angered by this and flashed out trying to punch The Angel with the Armed first.

In great haste, Sanguinius caught the first with one hand. With great force, she crushed the weapon with great ease. Issei's eyes widen in horror as Sanguinius growls in a wicked feral way.

"Blood! She screamed as she gripped Issei

Right, Gauntlet trying to crack him open; comparable to breaking a crab, to get to the sweet meat inside. Issei tried to fight back but paused as he heard the sound of cracking. She was almost breaking through his armor. Issei held back a scream of pain.

Then a quick flash Corvus flew right towards Sanguinius, tackling her wing and making them both fall below. She let go of Issei to fight off her sister. Corvus quickly maneuvered around and charged at the matriarch.

Sanguinius, in great strength, pulled her fellow sister off her. Sanguinius flew back up trying to get Issei. While she scored up, Issei descended downward. Now with a new goal in mind, take down Sanguinius.

"Night hunter claws!" He shouted. The long claws of sharp darkness appear on both of his hands. Issei knew this was his win condition. These claws were able to take down Konrad and Fulgrim, he guesses they were more than a match for Sanguinius. Issei's wings hold in making him fall straight at Sanguinius. She opened her arm wide, unafraid of the attack he was about to commit. Then Issei's claws punctured straight through Sanguinius's chest. Stabbing both of her hearts. He worked under his helmet.

"Game over." He whispered. She roared as her hand was ready to break his black shell. Then before she could do such a thing. Corvus grappled her arms behind Sanguinius's back, pinning her wings against Corvus's body. The three made a descent to the ground, all of them had been so high up, the matriarchs down below looked like tiny ants. He hoped that the poison would work fast, but Sanguinius was still thrashing around like a wild animal.

Issei, thinking fast, conjured a black portal below them. Sending the three into the great black abyss. Before the portal closed Sanguinius head-butted Corvus so hard she let go falling back into the real world as the portal closed.

"No!" Corvus screamed. All the matriarchs up above looked in Horror as Konrad fell to her knees and screamed.

In this dark cold abyss, Issei still had his claws in the matriarch's chest. In crate panic, he broke the blades off leaving them in Sanguinius. She latched out one more time and jabbed her hand into Issei's abdomen. Her index finger stabbed into his gut, making a large wound in his stomach. The shadows here were ten times stronger pulling him back away from the danger.

Issei held his wound and looked up, seeing the matriarch marveling at the blood on the tip of her finger. She sucked on her metal glove, licking it, clean and enjoying the taste. Her eyes fully turned black, having the characteristics of a monster. Issei's eyes are wide in horror. Was this the reason she kept attacking him because she wanted to eat him?

"G-g-get Away from me." he mattered. He felt his chest tighten as felt a panic attack gradually enter his mind. The angel-like wings, and the daemonic, horrible, echoing, vicious nature all reminded him too much of the incident. And what's worse, he was alone.

She could smell the fear and relished the moment. tilting her head while playfully looking at Issei.

"Won't you die for me!" She utters in a scratchy voice. Issei stopped and we're now completely fixated on the matriarch. His breathing stopped from panicking to a mad inhale.

That was the final straw as he flung himself into a rage. The shadows gathered behind him, growing his wings into monster sizes. his armor completely blends him into the shadows. making him almost completely invisible to the naked eye. The matriarch, even in this state, felt something was completely off with Issei.

She flew at him with her wings then stopped as she was held down by a thousand shadowed hands. All of them were restraining her. Issei threw a punch so hard it stabbed into her chest, stabbing both her hearts. Sanguiniusfelt her veins become ice cold as her warm blood now became lifeless.

Unfortunately, this gave her the perfect opportunity to chomp down onto Issei's left shoulder, breaking through his armor, and digging her teeth straight into his neck. Instead of ripping into the flesh, she slowly crushed his jugular. Issei felt not only his blood being drained but his energy too.

The two were in gridlock.

They held onto each other, as the damage they had received was too much. Sanguinius felt something in her veins as the shadows were turning off her body functions.

Issei gave a soft chuckle as he coughed up blood. "Their darkness around many things, including ourselves," Issei said as he passed out. As they felt their fight was over he muttered one more thing in a broken voice.

"I don't want to be alone."

His final words as they both passed out. They both fell into the eternal abyss only for an opening to the real world to manifest below them. As they passed through it, landing on the soil. their bodies still holding great force as they both slipped away from each other. opening their wounds more when we're removed from each other.

In some grand and cosmic blessing, they landed only a couple of feet away from the others. Konrad and Angron quickly knelt at his side, giving him first aid, and ripped off his armor allowing better access to help him. While the others quickly pinned down their beloved sister and quickly saw she was injured as well. Konrad shook Issei's body to keep him awake. Only for him to remain unconscious.

"Issei wake up!"

"Issei wake up!"

"Issei wake up!"

Konrad begged for him to be awake.

Konrad held his body, while Angron in great haste went to find Magnus. As she ran through the halls she stopped moving, the feeling of Issei's life was slipping away. She dashed to find their sister.

While tragedy unfolded in front of them. Alpharius and Omegon both watched from the shadows.

"Good, the boy shall not infer with our plans," Alpharius said.

Omegon reminds silent, not satisfied quiet, it was a disappointment. Alpharius gave a confused gaze at Omegon.

"What is wrong my sister?" She asked. Omegon walked away unsure what they had caused. They did this to gain back the future they foretold, yet now it seemed they were only further from it. The goal was to eliminate Issei and show the others Sanguinius to the others. Yet it was as if the plan had failed in Omegon's eyes.

Alparous watched the sense play out taking in victory.

Horus could see Sanguinius, wounds had healed yet she didn't move. Though the others pinned her down they could see her ghoulish features vanished. A cornering thought had popped into their mind as she wasn't waking up. Fulgrim tried to push her awake yet nothing happen, they could feel her aura yet she was unmoving. Lorgar walked up to her and put an ungloved hand on Sanguinius's forehead, feeling it was ice cold.

"Something wrong!" Lorgar said.

Horus in a sad manner held her sister in and tight hug. "Please, wake up sister."

Konrad could see the shadows slowly healed his wounds yet something was wrong with him as well. Konrad could hear how weak his heartbeat was. She held him close and made sure no harm would come to him. Rogal and Perturabo held looks of anger for not knowing what to do. They were supposed to be great builders and base for the others to lean on, now they could only watch and do nothing.

"What do we do now?" Guilliman said softly. Konrad held Issei close and gritted her teeth she had hope and knew one thing they could do. She could feel the claws of despair trying to seep into her heart. Though it failed as she would never allow herself to fall into that turmoil

again.

"We need to find Malayalam," Konrad said showing hope in her teary eyes.
