Chapter 27 A Quest for the Lost Ones.

The rainstorm died down a bit as the thunder and lightning passed them. Now it was a drizzle. All of them were back in the main center of the house of Dorn. Sanguinius was locked downstairs and being watched over by Vulkan and Horus.

Issei lay unconscious on a dry slab of stone. The slab of stone where he laid was just his size, carved and smoothed into a perfect slab of gray stone. Issei's blade rested next to him. The others who hunted for the Eldar were still gone and Konrad sat by Issei's bedside. Gently holding his hand. Her head lowered and Konrad's gaze was adrift on the ground. She cursed herself feeling disappointed in herself. Her ability to see the injustice in the future should have prevented this pain.

Konrad could feel his heart slowly beating. It brought some comfort to her tortured soul; only a little. She waited for Angron and the rest to make a choice. Though Konrad knew what action she would take with or without them. Issei was her love and she would do anything to save that light that kept her from the darkness. Konrad felt a hollow hatred for the one who did this, a primal urge to walk down those stairs and beat the ever-loving life out of her sister for commenting such an act burned within her.

She would never leave Issei's side. Taking a deep breath trying to ease herself. They had to find Malayalam now and all their hope was upon Magnus to lead the way. Konrad still held Issei's hand trying her best to not cradle it. Lorgar gave a silent prayer for both Issei and Sanguinius wanting them to make a full recovery. Fulgrim watched Konrad from afar and walked to her side. Her stance says enough we can't mope around all day. She put her hand on Konrad's shoulder and gave. Konrad's saddened gaze was still latched on the floor. Fulgrim in a swift action gave a warm hug to her sister. Konrad's eyes widened at the action but slowly sub came to it, hugging her back.

"I want him back now," Konrad whispered. Fulgrim kept her hug firm and unbreaking.

"I know," Fulgrim said. Lorgar felt such despair at this moment thinking of how their father could've possibly avoided the situation he could've told them or was he unaware of his favorite daughter's problem. if he made them, how could he add such a horrible trait?

Angron had walked back into the room, and the feeling of remorse filled her chest. She gently held her hand over Issei trying to find that conscious feeling. Nothing appeared as he remained still deep within his mind, she questioned, how could this happen and how could the favorite daughter do such a thing. The most important topic was that her certain mutation was incredibly dangerous. Why didn't the father ever warn them? Horus knew but never told them.

These times were tricky for everyone now, including the information that they are long-lost sisters, who were alive. Rogal almost went into a mad fury against Magnus for withholding this information. Magnus was certainly on the topic of discussion. It seemed she didn't know what to do. Others felt lost, and some felt a small hint of hopelessness inside them.

In these strange times, Konrad still had hope for something to happen. Vulkan had walked outside her eyes showing pain hearing of the tragedy that unfolded. friend against friend, something she never wanted to see. In these sad times, she couldn't help but admire Konrad staying by Issei's side. It was touching. She gazed upstairs, knowing that three important sisters were discussing plans on what to do. there was still that dangerous alien that was after the young teen. so many things were against them, and yet they would plan against the storm of hardships that approached.

Meanwhile upstairs

Horus, Rogal, and Magnus, all of them, sat in uncomfortable silence. All of them waited for the other to speak first. Though Magnus in pride or some other emotion inside spoke first.

"So our beloved sister suffers from a horrible gene flaw, that makes her crave blood and you withheld it from us and Father," Magnus said. Not trying to be insulting she was just explaining the situation. Horus crossed her arms and gave a half-lid gaze.

"You knew our two sisters were alive," Horus said. Magnus had paused at the words and gave a rough sniff.

"Touché," She said. Rogal at this point did not care who was at fault, all that mattered was the now. Rogal thought deeply about how to handle the problem. Horus held her mace and her head faced the door.

"I'll watch her, just in case of the worst," Horus said.

"The worst has already happened," Rogal said.

The two had a worried front, Horus had never referred to Sanguinius as her before it was strange and alien to them. Horus had to put her personal feelings aside to watch over her sister. Vulkan of course would help her but Issei was the real question: they had no medicine for him. What's worse it seemed this could only be the tip of disaster for them.

"We need to find Malayalam. She's the only one who can help us," Magnus said with great eagerness to reunite their family. She turned to face Rogal who had a strong face.

"Wouldn't you agree-"

"No," Rogal said.

"What?" Mangus said in a shocked voice. Horus knew as well why Rogal answered no. It was on a very personal level. Rogal was the most loyal of all of them to their father. The very idea of finding the sister that fell out of their father's light may have disgusted her.

"If they chose to abandon our cause then leave them in the dust, Icarion went against fathers word and Malayalam foolish dreams of peace got herself killed. They are a great risk to us, than leaving Issei to die." Rogal said. Her tone of voice threatened to sound angry. Horus understood but was against the action.

"We also must be wary on our feet, we must not forget an Eldar is lurking around us!" Rogal said, pointing her hand towards the open window. "We must stay here until the others arrive!"

"I'm sorry but I disagree, He may not have that much time for him to live, Magnus has to go find Malayalam, Rogal I know your feeling for them is not just but we must find them, it is of the utmost importance," Horus said. They argued topic after topic but could see Rogal refused and walked out of the room. The words said and the choices made had a giant factor to play. Horus and Magnus were the only ones left in the room.

"Magnus I have to stay here but the others, you find her can't you?" She asked. Magnus had a small chuckle escape her lips.

"I can teleport across the planet, I'm sure I will find two large sisters," Magnus quipped. Horus shocks her head from side to side in a playful manner.

"Joking at a time like this, Magnus I would be surprised if you didn't," Horus said then she had a pondering front.

"If you're going on this quest for our sisters, who will accompany you? I know you may not do it by yourself in case things get messy." Horus said.

"I think you know who I will bring, in case you happen to notice some have a certain keen eye on Issei," Magnus said.

"Keen more like fondness," Horus jokes. Magnus smiled and walked out of the room knowing that Issei's health was in good hands, her own and the hands of loyal companions. Though Horus did wonder about one forte. she replayed the memory in her mind. After they had captured Sanguinius, Rogal and herself swept through the Fortress in case anything happened an intruder might've snuck in during the whole commotion. as they patrolled the area upstairs and downstairs, she found a spare covered in blood. She dismissed the item and quickly went back to the others, but when she came back, it was gone. All the other weapons and destruction were left untouched, but the spear was taken for what reason? Something wasn't adding up. Alpharius wasn't even present during Sanguinius's mayhem, they always appeared to be out of the way. Rogal would love to have some words for Alpharius if she had anything to do with this.

Konrad, Angron, Lorgar, and Fulgrim, all sat by the young teen's bedside, each looking at a part of his body seeing if it would twitch or stir to see if he was awake.

Fulgrim nervously tapped her arm, thinking of something they could do to wake him up. Konrad simply waited patiently by his bedside, like a maiden waiting for her knight to return. She mused at what she was doing. She was the night Hunter that scared hundreds of planets into surrender. Fulgrim could see Konrad's face and she smirked.

"If we want to touch him go ahead, caress his hair, stroke his cheek I don't think he'll mind," Fulgrim said with a smile. Konrad shyly looked away from his bedside. Though she was an assassin and killer she would still have a timid feeling.

"Trust me he'll love it, I may have helped you with war, but I've never taught you the complexity of human relationships," Fulgrim said in a teasing manner through it more out of care than spite. Konrad gave the idea of some deeper thought.

"And what would you know of such things?" Angron asked.

"I've been married many times before, though all of my marriages ended up with my partners dying from old age so that's the thing," Fulgrim said.

" I wouldn't mind learning…" Konrad said. "My first idea for a gift was to bring him a bloody skull. Perhaps I need new eyes to help with my situation."

Lorgar chuckled at the mention of her sister debating whether or not to take a piece of a human being to another. It was more in a comedic manner when she thought of it. Angron put a comforting hand on Konrad's shoulder.

"I'm sure I can help as well," Angron said. They were both sisters in arms trying to love the same person, and they had an understanding of sharing. Fulgrim cackled at Angron, finding it amusing. Angron's annoyed glare was set upon Fulgrim.

"I'm sorry but tell me how do your gladiatorial days help with relationships? I doubt you ripping off heads for the masses teaches anyone to date." Fulgrim said.

"You'll be surprised to find out that I was quite generous with my fellow gladiators, they were my family," Angron said. Then her eyes glowed with a slight yellow shine. Fulgrim could glimpse at the action and found it a bit disturbing. Knowing she could read her sentiments. Fulgrim pushed that aside her pride was no more now it was time for her to rebuild herself. Ferrus would agree to that.

While worry about Issei's safety was on the table, the knowledge of their warp forms still had to be reached but how was the question?

"My fellow sisters, I need a word with you all!" Magnus called out. Their heads whip around to see Magnus gently walking down the stairs yet her step carried such authority; it was as if a general was walking to his war room.

"I'm glad to see you all gathered here, it makes it easier to discuss our next move," Magnus said with a boost of confidence.

"And what would that move be?" Fulgrim asked. All of them in this room knew the answer, they all wanted her to say it.

"We're going to find Malayalam all of us will begin our quest for our lost sisters! In hopes to better heal Issei," Magnus said. "Are any of you willing to go on this epic quest?"

Many of them raised their hands, Angron stood by Magnus's side and gave a nod. Lorgar didn't need to answer and marched to Magnus. Fulgrim gave a nonchalant nod.

"Like this is even a choice for me, I still have a rematch with Issei," Fulgrim said flaunting her short hair. Konrad still sat at Issei's bedside, not even the slightest movement of acknowledgment. The future vision she had were now becoming rare and she didn't want to leave his side in case the worse happened. Something she never thought she would act upon whenever her vision happened Konrad made sure never to act against it thinking it was unavoidable, Now she didn't know what to do. One side told her to wait and that everything would be okay yet the other of her heart said to fight for her future.

So lost in her thoughts Konrad was snapped out of her daze by Magnus who called out for her. Magnus held on to her staff and knelt to her level.

"The choice is yours Konrad will be moving out in an hour," Magnus said as they began to gather things for the trip. Konrad held her hand in worry manner yet she faced to see them walking out of the door. Glancing back at Issei she felt her heart wrench, in a hard decision she stood and leaned over his stone slap, giving a gentle kiss on his forehead.

"I shall return," She whispered in his ear. "Magnus!" Konrad called out.

The Crimson queen had turned her head at Konrad seeing she had made her choice. "If I go who will protect Issei?"

"I will," Perturabo's voice echoed in the chamber. Konrad could see the queen of Iron standing on the top of the stairs. Magnus smiled at the queen of iron's appearance.

Konrad had narrowed her eyes never in a thousand lifetimes would she ever expect the queen of iron to do this task. Magnus knew better than anyone Perturabo would accomplish this goal. She was effective and persistent until the bitter end. She was smart and a dangerous strategist.

"It would be an honor," Magnus said. Knowing that this task might require an iron fist, Perturabo was more than willing to lead. Konrad held a stretched gaze on the Queen of iron.

"Male sure you follow up on your duty or else," Konrad said with a braise time of voice. Perturabo was unfazed and was still like a statue. Unafraid of the night hunter threat there was no arrogance but a superiority of knowing that the job was already done. The Queen of Iron slowly marched down the steps. And gently picked up his body her metal gloves did nick or clap down on Issei. Picking him up and taking him to her chamber. Konrad held a steady gaze on her, almost waiting for an excuse to take him back. Magnus put a reassuring hand on Konrads back.

"He's in good hands I promise," Magnus said. Konrad reluctantly turned away and tightened her fists. The night sky was slowly turning into the morning. Konrad's helmet latched over her head, for protection from the daylight.

The rest were of the group or waiting in the courtyard. Magnus stepped forward gazed into the woods and felt her shadow eye beam into the darkness. She could feel the other two presence from a very far distance. It was as if an internal compass was activated in her.

She smiled as pointed her cane to the far north, having a stoic face.

"We must leave in great haste!" Magnus said. they all began to move, except for the red giant herself.

"What are you doing?" She asked them all. Fulgrim raised her eyebrow.

"We're moving towards them, I don't understand. Oh no, please don't tell me you're going to teleport us." Fulgrim said in horror.

Tapping her staff on the ground signifying that that was the correct answer. Magnus raised her staff high up in the sky and was about to slam it down when all of her sisters surrounded her and grabbed her, stopping her action. Magnus, struggling against all of their strength, was baffled at their choice.

"What is the meaning of this?" She asked in surprise. Teleporting was only a simple matter; how could they just object to it?

"Not near the building!" Lorgar yelled, struggling to hold her back. That she was the weakest of them.

"When you teleport you wreck half the place!" Angron said. Fulgrim held onto Mangus's right arm and had a fury brown.

"You wrecked one of my art galleries doing the same thing for dramatic effect!" Fulgrim yelled in irritation from past experiences.

"I'm sorry you can't handle my abilities but we have to get them faster!" Magnus argued back.

"At least we could be a mile away from the building!" Angron yelled at Magnus.

Konrad simply watched the building behind them while they all argued over such a small matter she deeply hoped her beloved was safe and recovering.

Issei slowly woke up, and his eyes fluttered open. He grips his aching head and feels his neck a bit sore too. He looked around to see his surroundings to see the golden sky above him while the white fluffy clouds danced above him.

The golden white light sun was sitting on the horizon. giving a calm, warm life, breathing glow. The ground below him was a wet watery floor that went on endlessly into the horizon. The water was so clear and perfect that it didn't stir up the dirt under it. He slowly got up and tried to judge where he was. Issei closed his eyes and concentrated on the darkness within.

He deeply hoped the shades would give him a non-Cryptid answer. He felt the shadows wrapped around him.

"Sup," Que said behind Issei. The young teen's eyes snapped open and he turned around to face Que standing with a wide, surprised expression. Issei walked over to the force of nature and gripped his shoulders. He figured out that if Que was here, then they were in his Mindscape, but he didn't recognize this part of his mind.

"Where are we? This doesn't look like my mind." Issei said. Que opened his mouth and then stopped. Then held his chin in a pondering manner.

"Hmm okay I know where we're at but I'm thinking this is gonna be a good experience for you if I don't tell you," Que said. Issei let go of Que and was baffled at his answer.

"Don't be that guy, I just want to know what part of my mind is this," He said in a tired voice.

"Relax I'm not ditching you, I'm simply watching from afar and if things get out of hand, I'll step in, how does that sound?" Que offered. Issei was about to yell at Que but quickly stopped himself from doing that action, thinking this was the best he was gonna get. He lowered his head and grabbed it letting out a low grumble. Sometimes he wished Que would pick the right moments to teach and help wisely.

"Fine man, where do we go," He asked. Que pointed forward. Issei taking the hint walked into the unknown. As he further into the water, he notices how red it became and the sky became darker. It was starting to get hard to move for him, the liquid began to reach his ankles, while the red became more thicker.

The liquid on the ground soon resembled the consistency of blood. He took his foot out of the bloodstream in disgust. He turned around to see he was quite far away from the Majestic part of the area. The two realms of colors clashed with each other. One was blood and darkness, while the other was pure and light. Issei could help but think of a Devil and an Angel. It formed somewhat of a duality. Light and dark in a geographical manner.

"Aw, where am I?" Issei said out loud. Que jerks his head upward showing Issei to look up. his face was in complete shock, seeing the symbol of the blood angels illuminate the sky in a blaze of black light. He made an answer in his mind yet it seemed so obvious at this point.

"I'm in Sanguinius' mind!" Issei said in fright.

"Bingo!" Que said, confirming Issei's suspicions more. Issei was panicking; he didn't want to invade some personal space like this. What if saw something he could never unseen again? Issei then recollected it, that if they were in her mind, that meant they were doors, he could open. Without asking Que he held out his hand and calmly reflected on his memory. Then before his eyes, a door slowly raised out of the viscous blood.

It was made out of dark wood and the door handle was an obsidian black. Que smiled at how snappy he was understanding this business so fast. Issei gazed at the door with an unsure face.

"All I do is walk through that door?" Issei asked out loud.

"Yep all you do is walk through that door and we're on your journey out of here," Que said. Issei took his time and trudged to the door and turned the door handle. He stood caught in a bright white light. While a golden aura flashed over him.

"Father…" The voice of Sanguinius whispers into his ear.

After what appeared like hours of hunting with no trace, The Matriarchs who were hunting for the Eldar were marching their way back to the base. All of them were shameful and outraged about not finding the Xeno. Some blamed themself, many blamed each other. The hunting in other words did not go well.

The Lion walked forward of the group sieving with rage. They had gained a hundred false tracks that lead to nowhere, and most of them knew they were being toyed with. The Khan wanted nothing more than to rip off this creature's head and shove it down a deep dark hole where it would never see the light of day again. Russ was the calmest out of them all, in the failure she learned that applying their ways of tracking proved too ineffective. Needing to regroup and plan better next time.

Ferrus was far from giving up she wanted to make something, to assist them find this Xeno no matter what. Finally making it back to the base was all they needed. Though was this truly the right choice all of them felt that this xeno was long gone. Already calling for reinforcement "We need the others, I'm sure a great battle will come our way."

"Aye but I trust we have already singled the others and our base stands mighty," Russ said. The Khan held her sword in case the worst happened now. In all this hunt felt like a great big joke.

"You don't think it lured us out here to strike the base?" The Khan asked her tone suggesting a possible second reason.

"No," Mortarion answered, "It would be a foolish choice if it were,"

Mortarion thought very little of this Xeno and the idea of being bested by it in this manner made her want to take her giant scythe and reap the forest.

"Perhaps we underestimated it," The Khan said. All of them didn't want to agree because it would be admitting to failure.

"Let's not forget we were unready for this task, let's not blame any of us," The Lion said, trying to be reasonable though her tone suggested something else. Russ has never gotten along with the Lion but she was good at reading people. And reading The Lion told Russ that there was only rage in the group's failure. The wolf queen couldn't help but admire the challenge. As long they learned from their failure, there was hope to overcome the obstacle. They had marched for a while. The rain had stopped while the wildlife birds started to chirp.

"You think we missed anything back at the base?" Russ asked.

"I'm sure they all had a hard time trying to listen to both Rogal and Perturabo barking orders, Or do you think they're already bricking about the wall?" The Khan jokes.

The Lion ambled out of the tree line but stopped when she could see the base front entrance was in shambles. The gate smashed to bits the outside filled with holes, the north wall covered in bullet holes, and collapsed ground showing a secret cave.

Rogal was begging for the repairs upfront. Russ walked by The Lion's side.

"Aye, what's got you all stricken-" Russ stopped when she saw the destruction too. "Aw Fuck off!"

Russ yelled, kicking a rock into the far distance.

Lorgar, who was walking behind the group and felt a sudden sense of danger, turned around and was pegged in the head by a giant rock. Smashing into a million pieces across her face.

"Aw, not again!" She cried while the others gave a worried glance. Instead of leaving her behind, each sister held her back up and made sure she was okay.

"Dear heaven, what happened to you?" Fulgrim asked. Helping her sister get up from the ground.

Lorgar smiled at them for their kindness. "Thank you," She said, making sure not to forget her manners. Angron narrowed hers at where the rock came from. Finding the situation to be all too familiar. Konrad noticed how uncomfortable the red Angel looked. Like she recognized the crime that just happened here

"Something the matter?" Konrad asked.

"Nope nothing, never mind let's just go," Angrin said, quickly running to the front. Konrad shook her head at the strange group and honestly, she could haven't asked for better. These were not great soldiers or generals but ones she could trust.
