Susan was a little worried about what would happen to her during Harry's next Quidditch practice. She wasn't sure how she was going to react if she could still feel him swooping and diving. She hoped it didn't make her sick again. She was okay in a broom but she preferred plain flying to playing Quidditch and she'd never dare to try some of the tricks Harry pulled off in search of the snitch. She knew if she felt sick then Harry would feel it though their bond and as much as she'd love for Hufflepuff to beat Gryffindor she didn't want it to happen that way. Apart from the fact it would feel like they'd cheated she really didn't want to ruin Quidditch for Harry. She thought about getting an anti-nausea potion from the hospital wing but didn't want to explain to Madam Pomfrey why she might need it, nor did she want to go in for one several times a week without offering an explanation and she wasn't good enough to safely brew them for herself. She knew what Madam Pomfrey and any other girl who found out about it would think. She paled realising that their assumption might still be correct, her menses weren't due for another few days and she didn't think she felt any different, other than the whole connection with Harry and being able to feel emotions and strong sensations affecting him, but food still frequently tasted different to her which was one of the things she remembered her cousin complaining about during her pregnancy. Of course, she knew Harry was experiencing the same changes in tastes and that it was being caused by their bond, but… if she was… then wouldn't he feel the symptoms of that too?

Harry tried to avoid masturbating, at first it was too embarrassing to contemplate when he knew Susan would feel what he was doing. But as time went on, he found himself waking up each morning with a more stubborn erection, which he knew Susan would feel anyway if she was awake, and eventually he couldn't get it to go away and had to relieve the problem before he could leave the privacy of his bed curtains and honestly he'd rather deal with the embarrassment of Susan feeling him taking care of it than the comments he'd get from his dorm mates if one of them was awake when he got up and he didn't want to wake up Susan with the shock of a freezing cold shower, at least she probably wouldn't say anything to him. Luckily Harry was an early riser and Susan generally was not. Harry checked in on her as he'd promised and felt her sleeping. Hopefully he could finish before she woke up and she'd never know.
Sliding his sleep pants down, he took himself in hand and due to his recent abstinence was very soon shooting his load with a muffled shout. Interestingly as he calmed down and caught his breath he noticed that Susan was now awake and also feeling aroused and embarrassed.
"Sorry for waking you," he thought at her wondering if she'd get the message or at least feel his regret and understand it's meaning, before cleaning himself up with magic and heading for the shower.
As he stripped off and stepped into the water he felt like someone was watching him though he knew the shower cubical blocked him from sight. He grabbed his wand and did some of the charms Hermione had taught him to reveal hidden onlookers, animagi and concealed objects like a camera or the paired mirrors Sirius and his father had had as students. Finding nothing he realised that this might be what Susan had felt that day in the bath when he'd tried to feel what she was feeling and she'd become nervous, noticing his presence. Trying to put it out of his mind he quickly showered and dressed, feeling the sensation of being watched fade away as he pulled his clothes on.
He headed down to breakfast wondering if he should ask Susan about this morning and if so how he was going to get to talk to her privately without arousing suspicion.

Susan had woken from a very nice dream of Harry. In fact, she woke up aroused and slightly frustrated knowing that if she'd just managed to stay asleep a few minutes longer she might have had an orgasm. It was strange she thought to feel so aroused but also the slight feeling of satiation. Then she realised that she was feeling Harry's feelings bleeding through the bond and worked out what had woken her so early. Harry had been doing THAT! She checked in with how he was feeling and noticed that he was starting to feel air moving around his body, he was naked! Then she felt the warmth cascading down his body and realised he had stepped into the shower. She lay there enjoying the sensations of him washing himself until he began to dress and then realised that it must be morning and if Harry was already dressed, she was probably running late. She jumped up and hurriedly pulled on her clothes and brushed her hair before running down to breakfast without realising that the rest of her dorm mates were still asleep.
She'd finished eating when the post arrived and she received a note from Harry, it arrived by school owl and she pocketed the note without reading it. Blushing slightly as she realised what it might be about.
"Your secret admirer again?" Megan asked.
"It's from a friend," Susan said irritably.
"Then what's the blush about and why not open it and read it at the table?" Megan asked.
"What you never have conversations or correspondence with any of your friends that you wouldn't want me and Susan or Ernie, Wayne, Oliver and Justin to read or overhear?" Hannah came to her defence.
Megan blushed and looked down concentrating on her porridge but her comments had caught Ernie's attention.
"Who's your friend, Susan?" Ernie asked.
"None of your business McMillan! I don't ask about your mail," Susan snapped.
At the Gryffindor table Harry cringed, he hadn't meant to make trouble for Susan with his note. He hoped she wouldn't be too angry with him.
Dear Susan
Sorry about this morning,
I hope you weren't too disconcerted to be woken up like that.
Afterwards I thought I could feel someone watching me,
was it you?
H
She pulled out a piece of parchment and jotted Harry a note, running up to the owlery, intending to send it with one of the school owls. A snowy owl came down and insisted that she take the note.
"It's for Harry Potter," Susan said softly.
The owl barked in what could have been agreement or amusement, it was hard to tell.
"Oh, you're his owl aren't you. You're very smart to have known this letter was for him. Can you try to make sure not too many people see him get this. She knew there was no reason for her friends to associate Harry receiving a note to the note she received this morning but rather wanted to avoid causing trouble with his friends, she could see that things had been strained between Harry, Ron and Hermione since the day they were tested for blocks and one of his other dorm mates was also throwing resentful looks at the trio lately as well, though she wasn't sure why.
Harry received the note with trepidation as he Ron and Neville were heading to lunch. Hermione wasn't with them she'd stopped by the library to change her books.
Yes it was me.
I'm sorry I should have realised you'd notice
and it would make you uncomfortable.
I'll try not to do it again
S
Harry grinned in relief that she didn't sound mad at him.
"Who's that from?" Ron asked curiously.
"A friend," Harry replied pocketing the note carefully.
"A friend friend or a girl?" Ron asked teasingly.
"Well she is a girl but you know I can't date anyone without putting a target on her back," Harry replied.
"We won't tell anyone!" Ron protested.
"And with the way sound echoes around these hallways, can you guarantee you're the only people that can hear me?" Harry asked. "Or that you will never ask about her at the wrong time? I promised her I wouldn't tell anyone she was my friend and I intend to keep my promise."
"I understand Harry," Neville said smiling at his friend before Ron could protest again. Of course, it was easy for Neville not to be too curious when he was fairly sure the note was from Susan.
Harry smiled gratefully.
"I'm not just anyone, I'm your best mate," Ron grumbled.
"I promised Ron," Harry reminded his best mate. "I wouldn't ask you to break a promise you'd made to someone else."
Over the next few weeks Susan began to look forward to waking up early and aroused every few days. In fact, she started to wake up early enough to anticipate the mornings she would receive the overflow of sensation from Harry. Harry was aware that Susan was awake when he checked in on her to make sure she was alone so he wouldn't embarrass her in public, but he didn't realise it was because of him but he knew she was still lying in bed and he couldn't hear talking so hopefully her curtains were closed and she was alone.
Susan smiled as she felt Harry's presence in her mind. She'd silenced and sealed her curtains so she grinned and said, "Good morning Harry," while focusing on their connection until she could feel his physical sensations and emotions as clearly as possible. She knew that Harry might notice her presence but she figured after he hadn't got angry about her watching him shower he wouldn't mind too much.
"Good morning Susan," Susan almost heard. A moment later she felt Harry take himself in hand.
"Are you just going to watch?" Harry asked.
"You know I can't actually see you unless you look at it and I'll feel what you're doing anyway. Do you mind?" Susan asked.
She felt his surprise. "No, I don't mind," he whispered. He began stroking and instead of feeling self conscious was turned on by the idea that Susan was willingly 'watching' and feeling what he was feeling. Maybe someday he could ask her to return the favour or to join in instead of just 'watching'.
Susan was surprised that she couldn't feel any embarrassment coming from Harry's side of the bond. She was still slightly embarrassed herself knowing he knew she was deliberately using their bond to feel as much of what he was feeling as possible.
Weeks went passed and Harry was now masturbating more often with Susan 'watching' every time he did it. She hadn't touched herself while he was doing it or orgasmed from the sensation of his orgasm though he could feel she enjoyed it, he could feel her squirming in her bed with arousal and that feedback aroused him more as well. They also chatted lazily in the mornings enjoying sharing the afterglow with their curtains closed and silences and their connection open but rarely met up in person and only occasionally exchanged short notes by owl. Those early mornings felt special to him and Harry began to feel closer to Susan than he did to any of his other friends.

As time went by, Hannah became aware that Susan's magic seemed stronger and she was having difficulties in DADA overpowering her spells when she was feeling agitated. She made sure the two of them were alone before she said anything.
"Sue did you have a block on your magic?"
"I already told you that I didn't," Susan said.
"Yeah, the morning after the testing when you'd already been missing all night!" Hannah exclaimed. "But you seem to be having trouble in DADA not overpowering your spells and your transfiguration has really improved since then."
Susan sighed. "You're right I did have a block but it's been taken care of," she admitted.
"Who did you ask to do it?" Hannah asked eagerly.
"Nobody you know," Susan said repressively, trying to give the impression that it was a one-off occurrence with a stranger. "My Aunt came to make sure that it was taken care of."
"But she came the next day?" Hannah said thoughtfully.
Susan ignored her.
"What was it like? Did it hurt?" Hannah asked.
"Unblocking my magic hurt like hell. I thought I was going to have a heart attack and then I lost consciousness and was totally exhausted," Susan replied.
"Not that, losing your virginity, did it hurt? What was the wizard like" Hannah asked.
"Yeah it did at first, he was kind an as gentle as he could be," Susan said.
"Was he hot, was he someone you'd like to do it again with?" Hannah asked.
"He was fit, and relatively good looking, not as beautiful as Cedric was, I didn't think about whether I wanted to see him again because it's impossible and don't really know him well enough to know if I wanted to have a relationship," Susan said somewhat honestly, she hadn't known if she would like to date Harry back when they unblocked their magic but she knew he'd never ask her out until He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was dead, and she didn't know him very well before then though they were getting to know each other through their early morning conversations and other activities.
"So, he's not the secret friend who's been writing to you?" Hannah asked disappointed.
"No, that really is just a friend. His friends would be all up in his business, like Ernie is thinking that they have a right to tell him who he should be friends with and he doesn't want the hassle. I promised not to tell anyone who he is," Susan said.
"He's not a Slytherin, is he?" Hannah asked.
"No, he's not a Slytherin, he's a nice guy and I'm not at any risk of being hurt or treated badly, but I'm not answering any more questions. I promised not to tell anyone and I'm not letting you play twenty questions trying to work out who he is," Susan said firmly.
Hannah pouted a little and laughed. "Okay I'll stop trying to guess who he is but I can't promise that the others won't still be curious, the secrecy intrigues us all. The others just can't understand why it would be necessary."
"Well he thinks it is, and I promised so they're just going to have to put up with not knowing," Susan huffed.

Dumbledore called Harry to his office after dinner Wednesday night. Ron and Hermione were curious why but Harry just shrugged as if he didn't know. He didn't think that they believed him. He was too annoyed about the note not to have at least suspected something but it seems Hermione had finally learned her lesson and let him alone in the great hall at least.
"Fizzing Whizzbies," Harry said rolling his eyes.
"Harry my dear boy! Would you like a sherbet lemon?" Dumbledore greeted him.
"No thankyou Sir," Harry replied politely.
"I called you to ask if you'd made your choice to release the blocks on your magic or if you'd thought about my offer to arrange someone," Albus asked cheerfully.
"I'm surprised you didn't know that I've already released the blocks. Aren't you tied to the school wards? Professor McGonagall said she felt the boost my magic springing free all over the place gave them, and I know Professor Snape is aware of the increase in my available magic strength from my performance in class," Harry replied.
"May I ask who you chose?" Albus asked, sounding concerned.
Harry wondered whether he really hadn't known or had used that as an excuse to make the appointment, and what he was concerned about. "I'm sorry Headmaster but I promised her that I wouldn't tell anyone," He said seriously.
"Harry, my boy. Don't you think that it's best that I know so that I can protect the young lady?" Albus pressed.
"You wouldn't want me to break my word?" Harry said, trying to sound shocked.
"Harry surely you see. It's for her protection," Albus scolded lightly.
"Her best protection Headmaster is that nobody knows who she is," Harry said firmly. "Is that all you wanted to talk to me about?"
"Yes Harry you may go, but please reconsider how to keep your young lady safe," Albus replied sounding disappointed.
"She isn't my girlfriend. That would be too dangerous. She's just a friend who did me a huge favour and the least I can do for her is to keep the promise she asked of me," Harry replied angrily. "Goodnight Headmaster."
Harry thought about sending Susan a note warning her that the headmaster wanted to know who he'd unblocked his magic with but was concerned that Dumbledore would be watching for him to do that or to meet up with her, and decided to use the time they spent together in the morning to try to warn her. He wondered why Dumbledore was so insistent on knowing, he didn't believe for a moment that it was about protecting Susan since it had been a couple of weeks now and there hadn't been any gossip or speculation about them at all and any change in the Headmaster's attitude towards Susan would draw attention to her.
The next morning with his and her curtains silenced he managed to get the message through to Susan but she had no idea why the Headmaster was so insistent on knowing who she was either.

Harry thought that the year was going uncommonly well, he and Susan were getting to know each other and building a relationship in spite of rarely spending time together in person and never alone. Ron had either accepted that he had a secret pen friend or forgotten it altogether and he'd never told Hermione so she didn't interrogate him about it either. Hermione had settled down becoming more used to exerting her magic to succeed in class though Harry was still worried about how tired and discouraged she seemed at times. Harry and Neville were becoming better friends working on controlling their magic and experimenting with their new powers together.
