Chapter Four:

Arriving at The Planet of the Cats

As the cat spaceship traveled through the dimensional tide of hyperspace, leaving Planet Popstar far behind and heading for the Cat Planet, Kirby tried his best not to feel homesick, especially since the adventure would be short.

So far, nothing had gone awry, the heroic puffball was happy to have made new friends while still hanging out with his old friends. For most of the voyage, he stuck to the ship's lounge and gave his pal Fuzzyton plenty of attention.

Kirby felt very comfortable in the room, especially since it was clean and very taken care of. Bright lamps illuminated the room and an air conditioner rotated around, providing fresh air despite the fact the ship was in space.

In case there were concerns about the ship lacking security, leading to the possibility of sneak thieves and hijackers striking, those concerns were easily laid to rest at the sight of security cameras seen everywhere on the ship.

The fact that the ship had security was a relief to Kirby and friends, if any thieves tried to steal the food supply or any secretly hidden-in-plain-sight hijackers attempted to strike, security would detect it in a heartbeat.

"Ugh, how much longer until we get there?" A Waddle Dee complained, "I can't stand doing nothing on this ship except for sit around and wait." A Waddle Doo told him to be patient, especially since he had plenty to do here.

Bandana Dee was nearby, talking to a few Siamese Cats and probably learning the art of cat speak too. Kirby decided to pass the time by playing with a small pink rubber ball laying on the floor nearby, it was half his size.

Kirby picked up the ball with his small arms and tossed it up in the air, when it came down, he threw it up into the air again. "Bouncy ball toys." The pink puff giggled with delight, "Hee hee!"

He was thankful there was gravity on the ship, allowing him and the others to walk around and play without having to worry about floating off the ground and often bumping into the ceiling or the wall. "Mrow, can I play with the ball now?" Fuzzyton was watching Kirby play.

Eager to play with his feline friend, Kirby handed Fuzzyton the ball and watched as the cat rolled around, pawing and kneading the ball. 'Darn, these cats have a lot of energy.' The puffball thought.

Just then, the ship jolted and Kirby almost fell over. Right as he was wondering what was going on, a loudspeaker buzzed to life and a droning cat voice spoke through it, announcing that the ship had arrived at the cat planet…

When Kirby saw the Cat Planet, he was surprised. It looked nothing like Planet Popstar; The globe was round, gray-colored with dark-gray fur patches and had a cloudy sky, surrounded by a bright red aura.

The planet was a bit odd-looking too. Usually, when one saw a planet, there were bodies of water that meant there were oceans. Popstar had an ocean; it was big and separated Dream Land from the other realms.

"Could someone explain why your planet is encircled by a red aurora?" King Dedede asked as he observed the planet, paying attention to the strange aurora, "It looks very evil and ominous."

"It's the work of Doofustacar Toneygus." Prince Furrnutso growled, "He's trying to transform the planet into a corrupted world of evil, we're going in and we're gonna stop him before he does any more harm. So, prepare yourselves."

A cat came forward and handed over the Magical Furry Star Staff to Kirby and Dedede, a Waddle Dee asked if he could have something to eat before they headed down to the planet while Meta Knight cleaned the blade of his sword.

Furrnutso looked at a dark-colored cat and ordered, "Activate the teleporter and beam us down." The cat saluted and passed along the order to the other cats, machinery beeped and whirred as lights flashed radiantly and colorfully.

Kirby and his friends braced themselves, ready for the teleportation process again. Everyone all made sure they hung on to the Magical Furry Star Staff, they could not accidently lose it or leave it behind on the ship. Otherwise, good luck saving the Cat Planet.

SKRRRVVVMMMMMMMMMM! Beams of light encircled the group and the whole world around them spun rapidly as Kirby and Dedede, Meta Knight, the group of Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos, Fuzzyton and Furrnutso felt their feet leave the floor.

KA-DROOOOOOOO! A bright flash engulfed the group and they were away from the ETM Ding Ding, traveling through a hyper-colorful void that swirled and shifted around them all until another bright flash engulfed them and... they stood within a large city full of cats.

Oh, but it was no ordinary city, it was the City of The Cats! Kirby and crew had made it to the surface of the Cat Planet, the teleportation system didn't fail. Looking at this place, Kirby could see beauty everywhere, from the clean streets to wood houses to decently made buildings.

Plus, the sky seemed to be blue, despite the red-colored clouds up above. A few green trees rose up out of dirt patches in the sidewalk, standing tall and the leaves blew in the wind. In the distance, a large palace stood at the top of a hill that overlooked Furrtroplis.

Meta Knight drew his sword and Kirby twirled the Magical Furry Star Staff. "So, where's that lion dictator guy holed up?" He asked Prince Furrnutso. Before any answers could be given, dark cackling filled the air and shadowy mist suddenly surrounded the group.

"In the palace..." Fuzzyton meowed, "It seems he knows we're here and is summoning us."

"Looks like we don't need to walk there." Dedede quipped.

"Brace yourselves." Furrnutso growled. Kirby held on tight to the Magical Furry Star Staff and made sure not to drop it as the void of darkness spun rapidly and engulfed Kirby's group, taking them to the dark domain of the one who'd conjured up the mist…
