Hello! I am new to writing fanfictions so please only constructive criticism!
This story will take place after the Battle of Hogwarts.

Minor spoilers for Hogwarts Legacy (Only the overworld map, aka only the hamlet names and areas. No plot or stuff like that) so if you care about that, then here's your warning.
I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS!

As Harry and Daphne walk off the platform, Ron and Hermione rush towards them. Hermione rushes out, "How did you get appointed? What will you do? How long have you known?"
"Merlin Hermione, let the man understand what you're asking!" Ron laughs out.
Turning scarlet, Hermione coughs before turning to Daphne, "Oh, hello there Daphne. How'd you even complete your mastery?"
Ron and Harry also turn their gazes towards the blonde Slytherin. Harry, also wondering how she completed a mastery and N.E.W.T. so young, also asks, "Yeah, Professor McGonagall did mention this but I never had the chance to ask."
Shrugging, Daphne responds, "Yes, hello there Hermione. I was just, as you probably knew Hermione, excelling in Charms for the first four years here. Professor Flitwick then offered to tutor me for an early N.E.W.T. as professors may recommend younger students to take the exam."
Nodding, the trio understands that Daphne must've had an affinity with the subject. Realizing the friendliness between Daphne and Hermione, Ron shoots a glare at Daphne before asking, "How do you know 'mione?"
Looking at each other, Daphne motions for Hermione to explain. Rolling her eyes and playfully huffing at Daphne, Hermione faces Harry and Ron before stating, "She and I met during fourth year. She actually helped me with researching for the first and second tasks. Since then, we've paired up in runes and arithmancy and quickly became friends of sorts."
Snorting, Ron blurts out, "She's a Slytherin though!"
Rolling his eyes, Harry shakes his head, "It's not that simple, remember Pettegrew? Just being in Slytherin doesn't mean she's evil. From the sound of it, unlike Malfoy, Daphne here didn't harass Hermione for her blood; that means she's good in my books."
Beaming at her best friend, Hermione hugs Harry before stating, "Thanks Harry"
Pulling away, Hermione tilts her head before pressing, "You didn't answer my questions."
Laughing softly, Daphne pats her friend's shoulder, "You weren't even coherent."
Flushed bright red from embarrassment, Hermione takes a deep breath before slowly and playfully asking, "How. Did. You. Get. Appointed?"
"Well, for someone who might not understand, we were offered and we accepted," Harry responds just as slowly.
Stiffening a laugh, Ron helps Hermione, "You know what she meant."
"Well, I'm not sure about Potter here but Professor Flitwick always said I'd make a good Charms professor at a school. Guessing he has a lot of faith in me or something," Daphne answers.
"I'm guessing the professors knew about the DA around the same time it started or something. I also guess that McGonagall thinks I'm the best fit for the job," Harry modestly answers.
Rolling their eyes and smiling, Ron and Hermione push Harry before Ron responds while counting on his fingers, "Then there was, let's see; Quirrell, the bloody diary, dementors, all of the Tri-Wizard shit, leading the DA, taking private lessons with Dumbledore, and this past year."
"Ronald! Language!" Hermione exclaims before turning to Harry and Daphne. Beaming at Harry, she replies, "He does have a point after all."
Raising her eyebrow, Daphne quips, "There must be a lot of stories there Potter."
Nervously rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment, Harry nods before sharply inhaling, "Y… yeah. But they're over exaggerating."
"We aren't!" Ron cuts in.
Before anyone can continue, a blast is heard from the phoenix lectern as Kingsley Shacklebolt stands at the podium. His booming, deep voice reverberating through the hall, Kingsley states, "I must say a thank you to the students and staff of Hogwarts for bringing us this victory against Tom Riddle."
Turning and smiling down at Harry before looking back up, Kingsley states, "Today, rest. There will be more beds coming for less severe lasting effects such as malnutrition, curse check-ups, and other magical or physical illnesses."
Cheers and clapping echo once more through the hall before Kingsley states, "The Ministry has decided that Fifth Years will also be repeating their year if they wish to retake their O.W.L.'s. Just like Seventh Years, only the higher score will be final."
Polite clapping again before Kingsley continues, "All of the injured will be relocated to St. Mungos if they're in a stable state. For those in critical conditions, they will stay here until they are safe to move. The healers, Merlin bless them, report that those in critical condition are expected to make a full recovery."
An explosion of applause for the healers rings as the healers wave to the crowd of Hogsmeade residents, students, staff, ministry officials, and parents. Smiling as the crowd calms down, Kingsley finishes, "The rest of term is over for the year, have a safe summer. The express will be here tomorrow at the normal time."
Instantly, the Weasley's rush towards Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Daphne as Daphne's sister and parents flock to them as well. Mr. Weasley, seeing the Greengrass family, steps away and greets them, "It's quite a sight to see you here Philips."
Daphne's father smiles as he rolls up his sleeves, gazing at Mr. Weasley. Extending his hand as he lowers his sleeve, Mr. Greengrass states, "I lied to rise the ranks in the Auror Office to 'capture' muggleborns so they can live at my manor comfortably as 'workers'. I did what I had to do in that office to ensure my family's safety while also attempting to help the muggleborns."
Shaking his hand and smiling, Mr. Weasley jests, "You fooled quite a lot of people Philips."
Looking behind Mr. Weasley as the two men shake, Mr. Greengrass asks, "I see your family is here Arthur, glad to see you made it through all right." Glancing back, Mr. Greengrass curiously asks, "Don't you have a set of twins?"
Eyes glossing over, Mr. Weasley clears his throat before Harry cuts in, "He's gone. Died like a true Gryffindor and a true friend."
Turning to face Harry, Mr. Greengrass releases the handshake and nods, "Harry Potter, yes?"
Shrugging, Harry replies, "Mhm."
Smiling and shaking Harry's hand as Mr. Weasley stands behind Harry, placing a hand on his shoulder, Mr. Greengrass praises, "Thank you for ridding the world of that monster. My daughters can live safely and happily now."
"Arthur, where are you?" Mrs. Weasley's voice calls out.
"Here Molly, talking to a co-worker from the Ministry," he responds.
"Speaking of the Ministry," Mr. Greengrass chimes, "Kingsley Shacklebolt was confirmed as interim Minister and is most likely going to win the election. I have just been appointed as Head of the Auror Office."
Nodding and smiling, Mr. Weasley responds, "Congratulations Philips. I hope I'm just hired back at my department."
Shaking his head, Mr. Greengrass informs, "They've decommissioned the muggle department Arthur."
"What's this?" Mrs. Weasley exclaims, "They did what?"
"Well, with… Him in power, the muggle department was shut down and will continue to be dormant," Mr. Greengrass simply states.
"What will you do for work Arthur?" Mrs. Weasley frightfully asks.
Raising his eyebrow at Mr. Greengrass' smile, Mr. Weasley asks, "I take it something else has changed?"
Nodding, Mr. Greengrass responds, "The muggle department will now be folded into the Auror Office as the 'Muggle Response Force', the MRF for short."
Waving his wand as a badge levitates from his pocket, Mr. Greengrass continues, "With your love of muggles and your experience as head of the old department, I'm offering you to be head of this new unit. Your job would be heading the force that responds to magical threats in the muggle world, obliviations, and really anything concerning muggle-magical connections."
Nodding, Mr. Weasley grasps the badge as Harry smiles at him. Smiling back at his wife hugging her two daughters before nodding at Mr. Weasley, Mr. Greengrass responds, "I'll see you at work in three days Arthur."
With that, Mr. Greengrass turns to attend to his own family while Harry and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley return to the gathering with the kids and Hermione. Patting George's back, Harry hugs the ginger before whispering, "I'm sorry."
Stiffening up before pushing Harry away, George sets his hands on his shoulders before shaking him and practically yelling in his face, "Fred wouldn't want you to feel guilty! He and I chose to come and fight! We knew the risks and we weren't just going to sit around as you, Hermione, and our family were here fighting the dark wanker!"
"He's right," Bill grunts out before setting a hand on his brother's shoulder.
"Yeah mate, Fred wouldn't want us to mourn," Ron chokes out.
Looking around and seeing the looks of the Weasley's, Harry nods as the Weasleys and Hermione hug him.
A/N:
Hope y'all liked this chapter and are going to stay tuned for chapter 3!
For those who could connect to history, yes, Mr. Greengrass' actions were based off of Oskar Schindler. If you don't know his story, I'd recommend learning it.
