Sonja on a quest
Chapter two
Hi guys. So this is a redo of my story 'into the woods.' I started it like 5 years ago and wanted to get back to writing because, once again I have gotten into the writing spirit and have been watching LotR a lot lately. I would have continued my older story, but my writing style has changed and the way I wanted the story to go has also changed.
Last but not least, This is a Legomance. It wont be rated M much later in the story. Will put up a warning on each chapter when the Mature themes kick in.
Again, this is a redo of MY story, Into the woods with the same character. All i own is miss Sonja Jackson.
Thank you again for reading and reviewing and adding this story. Best wishes.
Sonja kept looking all around her as she rode with the stranger on his horse. She didn't feel as uneasy when she had first met him, but she still kept her guard up. She learned that he was taking her to his home, Rivendell, and ever since then she had been contemplating what the hell was going on. The more he spoke, the more it sounded like he was talking about Lord of the Rings. Which had to be impossible. She didn't know much about the movies or books, but she did knew some things. The tall stranger kept saying triggering words that made her think he was crazy.
Rivendell, Orcs, Lord Elrond, Elves. Was she really to believe he was an Elf? Certainly not. She did feel different however. Sonja didn't know how to explain the difference she felt. From the time before she met Eldrin till now. It was like her whole world had shifted and she didn't know how. Also why she was a little more comfortable being with Eldrin. As they rode into Rivendell, Sonja couldn't believe her eyes. It was so beautiful and looked so peaceful. She felt as though she were in a dream. There was nothing like it that she had ever seen.
The waterfalls had to be her favorite. It defiantly felt alive She could get use to the scenery. How everything laid into the mountain just seemed to fit perfectly. Like it was suppose to be there.
"You're defiantly not in Kansas anymore," Sonja whispered to herself. Eldrin picked up on what the mortal had said, but didn't press on the issue.
"Welcome to Rivendell," Eldrin spoke up. "May you find peace and the answer you seek." They rode down into the massive stone-way where others were already standing around. She felt a twinge in her gut as she could recognize a few faces. Was she really here seeing what laid before her eyes? Was she stuck in some kind of void? Perhaps she has fallen down the side of the mountain back home and now she's unconscious and her mind has put her into a soothing state to help cope with the trauma she's going through.
"Calm yourself," she thought to herself. She did an internal gulp as Eldrin came to a stop. He got off the horse gracefully while Sonja just sat there. She had no idea how to get off and also didn't want to make a fool of herself.
"Do you need help my Lady?" Eldrin held his hand out to her for her to grab a hold of. She nodded and took his hand and he helped her off the great horse as he had helped her on. She mustered out a small 'thank you' as one hand held onto his shoulder and the other steady in his hand. Never could she get use to getting on and getting off a horse so mighty. She quickly looked to her right to all the bodies that scattered around with their horses. More Elves, she guessed, had came out to help gather everyone and to put the animals to a resting place.
"What happens now," she asked.
"I'll take you to Lord Elrond and from there, he will decided what is best for you." They walked through many hallways with many statues that Sonja couldnt' keep up with. She wondered if she could get a hold of a map so she wouldn't get lost for the place was so big. She knew who all would be here at this time since she had seen a couple of the fellowship members down stairs. She knew Frodo would be here with all the other hobbits who names she couldn't remember. Maybe Sam was one of them? She decided not to contemplate any further. If this was a dream, then she might as well go along with it. Dreams couldn't hurt you...
They came to a set of huge doors which she figured Lord Elrond would be behind. Eldrin gave a swift knock and which in turn the voice on the other side said something she did not recognize. Elvish. They entered the room and there stood Lord Elrond and also Gandalf. She at least knew Gandalf. Who didn't? Eldrin spoke in his native tongue and it made Sonja feel weird. She knew he was talking about her, but still felt weird for someone to have a conversation about you and you not know what was being said. Lord Elrond nodded and turned to Gandalf. Gandalf gave a look in return that Sonja couldn't read. They both exchanged a quick conversation before addressing her. Eldrin took his leave and smiled at Sonja.
"Young lady, you are one out of place aren't you," Gandalf spoke to her. Sonja just stood there awkwardly.
"You could say that. I'm...well I was lost, and now I guess technically I'm not lost anymore since I've been brought here."
"Lost indeed," Elrond spoke this time. "Tell me, are you aware of where you are little one?" She just shrugged. "I'll take that as a no."
"Even if you told me, I probably wouldn't believe you. As far as I'm concerned this is all a dream. And I don't think I want to be told otherwise." Sonja stuffed her hands into her jacket pockets starting to feel uneasy again. Gandalf and Lord Elrond looked at each other, having a small conversation with only looks before Lord Elrond spoke.
"I fear that I cannot tell you this is a dream. You are here and this is real. Gandalf and I both understand you are not from here. From Middle Earth. That much is certain."
"But why you are here," Gandalf continued. "That is a mystery." Sonja shifted herself.
"I'm afraid then," She spoke truthfully. "I don't want to be here. Where I'm from, this isn't real. You're just characters from a story. I'm mostly scared cause I myself don't know much of what is to happen. I never really got into yall's story. Only bits and pieces." Gandalf gave her a smile of reassurance.
"Don't worry my dear. We will help figure out your reasoning of being here. Maybe even get you back home." Maybe. It clunked in her head like a huge bell. Maybe get me home.
"That is for the Lady Galadriel and I to discuss. While you are here I'll let you freshen yourself and get you settled into a room for the time being. Maybe the Lady of the woods will have some good news for you." Sonja nodded and sighed. Another Elf came into the room to usher Sonja to a room.
"Follow me and I'll help get settled." The two of them left out of the room while Sonja gave another glance at the two males. Was she now to refer to them as their proper names? She rather she had no contact with anyone. She supposed this wasn't a dream since everything was running together so smoothly. She didn't have other random people running around, or mixes of colors, or changes of scenery every few minutes. Did Elrond and Gandalf knew she would be here? She thought it was strange that they didn't really ask her any questions.
"My name is Syllia by the way," the young elf spoke. Well she looked young.
"Sonja."
"Such a pretty name. Haven't heard it before. Definitely fits for a mortal."
"Thanks," Sonja said awkwardly. "Um, your name fits for an...Elf." Syllia chuckled as she practically skipped down the hallway. Maybe she was young.
"So I hear that you're not from around here."
"How?"
"We elves have exceptional hearing if you must know." Sonja, almost embarrassed, laughed at herself. "of course y'all do," she thought to herself.
"Well yeah. I guess you can say that."
"Not even of this world. Amazing. I know here can seem like endless possibilities to you, but to be from another world entirely and know of the new world you're in." Syllia kept going on and on about things she understood and didn't. Was it really that far fetched for Syllia to believe someone to be of another world considering she was an Elf. They came down the last corridor and stood in front of a big brown door with silver etchings.
"This will be your room while you are here with us." The pair walked in and Sonja gasped at how beautiful the room was. Even though it looked so simple. She wondered how much someone would pay to stay in a room like this. Probably $300 a night if she were on vacation. Big four poster bed with blinding white sheets and big fluffy pillows. The windows were an open concept and was adorned with white and tan drapings. A lovely brown table and chair she could see her mother having in her house. Different kinds of plants in the room. The walls were pearl white. Statue of a woman stood in the corner. It was beautifully carven and had what she thought resembled a lei almost, except it only had a few flowers here and there. Last but not least, the thing that caught her attention was the big tub. It had only been about five hours since the time she had gotten lost till now. But she really felt she wanted a bath. She was glad it was away from the windows to save her the embarrassment of having to bathe with the windows open.
Not that she had a problem with nudity and didn't mind if people saw her naked. She was an artist back home that had drawn many naked people, but the thought of someone watching her and she not know it made her upset. As just about anyone would be. She actually was a brave soul when it came to her body. Though she didn't think she had the best body, it wasn't unfortunately looking. Hell she had been a nude model for other people's drawing class. Mostly because she needed the extra cash. She was about 5 foot 3, with big thighs and a curvy ass she took pride in. While her stomach poked out a bit, she thought if she was really to stay here, that she might lose it not being able to eat her snacks and losing her trusted source of soda. Her chest on the other hand worried her since she was a busty girl and didn't think anyone around here would have anything to help keep the girls up. Maybe she could find ways to also lose the boob fat. She wasn't a self conscious girl, but being around all these tall and thin elves could make anything feel a little weary.
"Do you need help getting undressed? I see you eyeing the bath. It is almost time for food and we do usually wash up before such things."
"No, i'll be okay. Thanks Syllia." The elf nodded at her as Sonja slipped off her backpack and laid it near the bed.
"At least let me help get the water ready for you." Syllia went over to the tub and whispered something Sonja couldn't understand and watched as she opened the spout above the tub. The water came out, sparking and it made Sonja thirsty.
"Where does the water come from?" Sonja was curious since she didn't think they had indoor plumbing.
"Comes from the river. Not many people do have the fixtures for such things. But we elves are advanced in knowledge about certain things. Irrigation is one. Especially in our homes."
"Ah, I see." Sonja didn't ask when she saw the steam coming off the water. She supposed it was whatever Syllia had said that made the water hot.
Syllia chuckled to herself as she poured a substance into the water. It smelled really good and not too overpowering. Sonja took off her jacket and shoes and placed them on a chair that sat beside the tub.
"There you are. I'll be back with a dress for you. Though we may need to do some adjustments to it. Do you mind if I take your clothes to one of the alterations so she can get something properly fitted."
"Sure." Sonja quickly took off her shirt and pants and gave them to Syllia. Syllia bowed and left with a quick, 'be back in an hour.' Sonja waited a bit before she slipped out of her underwear and bra and sat her wrist watch on the chair as well. She noticed a curtain in the corner and pulled it and thanked God for getting a little more privacy. She hoped into the bath and felt herself relax in the water. It was nice and hot to her liking and she instantly felt a bit better considering what was going on. There was already a rag and a towel that hung on the other side of the tub.
"Wow, they really have it setup in here like a hotel." She redid her bun to keep it up tight so her hair wouldn't get wet and began to wash herself. Everything felt so good being in the water. She was defiantly a water child. She sat for about 20 minuets before getting out to dry off. As Sonja sat on the bed in the large towel, staring at herself in the tall mirror that was next to the table. She walked other to examine her human face. She had many freckles that clung to her face that she had came to love over time. Her brown hair made her honey brown eyes shine with the sunlight that peaked through the open windows. Though she looked tired, she didn't feel tired. She wrinkled up her little pug nose to make sure she didn't have any boogers hiding. Now that would be embarrassing if she was talking, then all of a sudden a booger came flying out. Having a slight upturned nose did make her worry about people looking up her nostrils and seeing all the unpleasant things up there.
A knock was at the door and Sonja went back other to the bed. Syllia came back and had a nice and simple dark green dress. She held it up with a big smile.
"Isn't it lovely? This was just something extra one of our semesters was working on. She was able to take it out a bit to fit your body better. Also brought you a couple of undergarments for you."
"Yeah, it is pretty. I don't remember the last time I wore a dress." Syllia looked at her with wide eyes. "Where I'm from it's not as common for woman to wear dresses unless that's just their personality or going somewhere nice."
"Different indeed. Here, I'll help you put it on."
"Okay, can you hand me my bra. It's over in that chair."
"Ba-ra? B-b-bra." Syllia tried the new word on her lips. "Good Valar. I sound like i'm making an animal noise." Sonja let out a loud laugh. A true laugh like she hadn't a care in the world.
"I like you, Syllia. You're funny." Now it was Syllia's turn to be embarrassed.
"Oh? Usually they all think I'm annoying. Hmm, funny?" Syllia grabbed the Bra for Sonja and brought it to her. Sonja quickly took off her towel and folded it so it stayed on her hips. She put on her trusted black bra as Syllia looked with wonder at how the piece of clothing worked. She then helped Sonja Put on the dress, smoothing it out as Sonja removed the towel and slipped on the new underwear Syllia brought her.
"It still feels a little snug," Sonja breathed.
"Nonsense, it looks really good on you. We just need to adjust..." The young elf pulled at the top of the dress to help Sonja cover her chest a bit more. "There. Pretty as the garden. Sonja nodded looking herself over in the mirror making sure she had room to move and breath. She let down her hair and the wide eyed elf came over with a brush to brush out Sonja's hair. Sonja felt like she was getting ready for a date almost. Her stomach rumbled as Syllia put down the brush. Syllia quickly grabbed some slippers from a place under the bed and brought them over so Sonja could put them on.
"Ready to eat?" Sonja nodded as the two women walked out of the room. Syllia was telling Sonja all the food that was going to be down in the hall and all the different people that was here. She especially told her about Legolas. All the ladies had their eyes on him since he arrived.
"Do you know the prince?"
"Oh yeah."
"Really," The young elf perked up. Her eyes beamed with excitement.
"Well, I mean I don't know him. Just know of him." Sonja smiled as she thought she had to be more careful with her words.
"Oh well. It's still exciting to have the prince here. Doesn't visit too often But he was here with Aragorn some years ago."
"Um, how old are you, if you don't mind me asking." Syllia smiled brightly.
"Only 999." Sonja almost tripped over herself."
"Only 1000 years," exclaimed Sonja.
"Well, 1000 years in a couple of months. Do you not have anyone in your world that lives to be such an age?" Sonja shook her head forgetting that elves, again, do live for a long time. "Hmmm, well I guess immortality can have its draw backs. I may seem old to you, but I am actually fairly young to my people. I still have much to learn." The young elf tossed her dark brown hair to the side as they walked into the dining hall.
It was really busy with all kinds of beings. Sonja's eyes were wide like a cat, taking in all of her surroundings.
"You can sit with me. And as you see, there are the little dwarves." Syllia pointed to the small group of small men, mostly with vibrant red hair eating to their heart's content.
"Some men from Gondor." Syllia rolled her eyes as she said Gondor. The man were keeping to themselves and talking in hushed tones.
"Aww yes, the little hobbits." They four hobbits, who Sonja could remember from the movies, we're all happily talking with wide expressions. They were the most noticeable to her.
"The Elves from Mirkwood. Where Prince Legolas is from." Syllia was really talking like a school girl, which Sonja thought was hilarious. Syllia was a character of her own. Sonja looked over to the group of blonde haired elves. Of course she noticed Legolas, who looked even better than his counter part in the movies. He looked like a light was glowing off of his skin with his angelic, but stern face. Sonja quickly looked away as the same time as Legolas looked her way.
"And of course our Rivendell elves," Syllia continued. Sonja felt like she was at the high school cafeteria and Syllia was Janis Ian from 'Mean Girls,' explaining the group dynamics to her. Syllia sat Sonja and herself down in front of a variety of fresh fruits, bread, cheese, and nuts.
"Did you wish for some meat, Sonja? We usually don't have meat for everyday dinner, but with our guests, we indulged in some."
"Yes please." Sonja was defiantly a meat eater and it didn't occur to her till now that she may not really get the chance to eat any. Syllia brought back some chicken and placed it on the table. Sonja filled her plate and ate in silence as everyone around her talked. She didn't know what any of the elves were saying and she could barely hear any English speakers around her. She felt a presence behind her and looked up. It was Lord Elrond.
"I have some answers for you, but we shall speak tomorrow. Continue to help a goodnight and lay your mind to rest." And with that he left her. Sonja sighed wondering what fate laid before her.
"Lord Elrond is very wise," said Syllia, trying too easy the young mortal's mind. She only gave a weak smile in return. After about an hour everyone was clearing out as different elves came to clear tables and to clean up.
"Hey, Syllia, is there somewhere I can go to be outside. Like a private place?"
"Yes. There are many. What did you have in mind?"
"As long as there is water." Syllia nodded.
"There's a place and it's right down the hall from your room. Come." The two got up and Sonja followed the lively Elf. Sonja was surprised that it was so close to the room she was staying in for the time being. "Did you need anything else?"
"No thanks. I'll be okay."
"I'll see you tomorrow. I have a few things I need to attend to before I retire myself." Syllia bowed a bit and skipped off. Sonja Breathed in the crisp air and walked over to the small stream. Water had always calmed her nerves and helped her to relax. Just the sound of it even helped her. Sonja adjusted herself before she sat against the tree by the water. She thought about everything that had happened so far. Maybe, just maybe when she went to bed tonight, she would wake up and be in her own tent back with her friends.
She let 20 minutes pass her by before she decided to get up. As she dusted herself off a bright figure appeared in the corner of her eyes. She stood straight quickly and looked in amazement.
"Sorry, My Lady. I didn't mean to startle you." Legolas was standing before her. He had been sitting in a tree on the other side and had hoped down. How long had he been there?
"Oh it's okay. I didn't know anyone else was out here is all." Legolas gave a smile of assurance.
"Forgive me. I had seen you come over, but didn't want to disturb you." Sonja gave a questioning look.
"So you just stayed up there?" She was surprised that someone would do that when they didn't even know here.
"There has been a lot of talk about you. I didn't want to make you uneasy." Sonja laughed a bit.
"Nice to know that elves gossip. Um, anyway. I'm off to bed."
"My I know you name, my lady?"
"I thought you would know that already."
"Never got that far into conversation." Legolas smiled Little did she know, he already knew her name. He just wanted to hear her say it. Sonja almost said a smart remark, but reframed.
"Sonja. My name is Sonja." Sonja was never one for letting a good light hearted banter go by. "I guess I may have you beat," she said as she walked back to the entrance. "Legolas." She said his name as she not dare to look back. Legolas let a small smile slip back onto his face remembering the way she spoke her name. As Sonja hurried back into her room and breathed a sigh of relief.
"If I wake up and I'm still here, then I just embarrassed myself to eternity." She noticed that her pants and shirt had been returned. She sat down on the huge bed wanting to turn on the tv.
"Ugh, why me." She needed something to fall asleep to. She laid back onto the bed and kicked off the slippers. As she closed her eyes, she thought about where she would end up in the morning. With that she fell asleep in her green dress.
yay, chapter two is done. Took me a few hours to write, but glad I got it done before bed time. When I was writing Legolas, I almost had him talking in Will Turner speech. lol. I'm so tired I'm getting fandoms mixed up. Hope yall liked it and please review.
