The rest of their time in Paris flew by. They had gone to the Eiffel tower and the Louvre. They had gone to Giverny as Spencer had promised and explored Monet's house and garden. It was just as beautiful as Trina had hoped. The house was colorful and an artist's dream and the garden was fragrant and gorgeous. Also an artist's dream. Trina loved it and had taken tons of pictures that she couldn't wait to get back to show Ava.

Then there had been the Moulin Rouge, where the newlyweds had taken in a show. Trina had been enthralled and had practiced the cancan for hours when they had returned to their hotel room, much to Spencer's amusement.

They had gone on dinner cruises and visited the Notre Dame Cathedral. They did a Loire Valley wine tasting and castles day trip, which both Trina and Spencer both loved. Spencer had even threatened to buy one of the castles for Trina, but she had talked him out of it, certain that he couldn't and also thinking that it would be too much. This beautiful Parisian trip was gift enough.

It had been a magical, romantic trip where she and Spencer had gotten to know each other even more intimately than ever before. But now the trip was coming to a close. It was their last evening in Paris before they returned to their lives in Port Charles in the morning and Trina just wanted to spend it in their hotel room, cuddled together eating snacks and watching Baz Luhrman's Moulin Rouge. The perfect movie to top off their perfect trip to Paris.

Trina and Spencer wore only bath robes as they lay cuddled together on the bed, drinking wine and watching Ewan McGregor sing to Nicole Kidman.

"I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put them in worrrds...how wonderful life is, now you're in the worlllld," Spencer sang to his bride, thinking about just how perfect that line was. Life truly was wonderful now that Trina was in his world.

Trina just rolled her eyes. "Only you can out smooth Ewan McGregor."

"I wasn't trying to out smooth him. But that line perfectly reflects how I feel about you."

"Spencer...will you always be like this? Or is this just honeymoon Spencer."

"What do you mean?"

"You...you are constantly sweeping me off my feet. Saying things like that. You honestly make me feel like I'm the best thing that's ever happened to you."

Spencer chuckled and tightened his embrace. "That's because you are, Trina. And yeah, I plan to always be like this. I want to sweep you off your feet each and every day, because my beautiful wife, that is what you deserve. You have no idea how truly wonderful you are."

"I used to look at movies and want a Jack or a Christian to come to sweep me off my feet in their most romantic ways possible. Little did I know that you were in my future waiting for me. I don't need those fictional heroes when I have you," Trina gently touched his cheek. She smiled as he bent his head and claimed her lips in a heated kiss.

Trina smiled up into his eyes as the kiss ended. She really wanted to finish the movie...but she wanted him too. She had never felt like this before, in need of being close to someone like she wanted to be close to Spencer.

"Are you okay?"

"I don't know...I want to be close to you...this doesn't feel close enough though…"

"Come here," He pulled her over until she was sitting in the space between his thighs and pulled her close so her back was against his chest. He then pulled the covers over and around them to make a warm, cozy cocoon, where they were warmed by not only the room but the heat from each other's bodies, especially her. He kept his arms around her in a light embrace. "Is this better?"

Trina smiled and snuggled against him, enjoying the heat of his body and the closeness. She felt perfectly safe and taken care of. Cherished. "This is perfect."

They continue to watch the movie, laughing at the funny parts, especially during the like a virgin scene. The atmosphere between them again changed when the song come what may begin. Trina felt his arms cradle her tighter against him and his head rested lightly against hers. Her fingers linked with his and she just relaxed in his arms.

This song... fitted them so perfectly. Suddenly the world was a perfect place. She couldn't help but sing the words to him, kissing his hands and sinking deeper into his embrace, just soaking up his presence.

"I don't want to go back home," Spencer sighed, his eyes on the screen, but his other senses centered on the woman in his arms. "It's so perfect right now. It's just us. When we go home...it's going to be different."

Trina frowned, not liking the sadness that dripped from his voice. "What do you mean?"

"We'll have everyone else in our lives to contend with. They'll know that we got married. They'll all try to convince you that you made a mistake. They'll try to change your mind...and they'll be right."

"What?" Trina turned around, getting on her knees to face him better. She hated the sad look in his eyes. She gently placed a hand against his face. "Do you honestly think anyone could change my mind about being with you?"

Spencer sighed and shrugged. "Not really. But they'll try."

"They can try all they want, but they won't be successful. Spencer, I am beyond certain that this is what I want. I want to be with you. I always have. Even when you were with Esme...even when I tried to move on with Rory. It was always you. No one can convince me otherwise. You don't have to worry."

"I just...I love you so much. I've dreamed of this so many times and...a part of me is probably going to always believe that I'm going to wake up alone again, with you further away than ever."

Trina frowned. "But you won't. You won't ever be alone again. You have me now and you'll have Ace. We're your family and always will be. Just like you're my family. They can't take that away."

"I hope you won't regret this, Trina. Behind all the money, the Cassadines are pretty dysfunctional…"

Trina couldn't help but roll her eyes. "You forget. I was there when Ava slapped the taste out of your father's mouth for sleeping with his son's girlfriend. If that's not dysfunctional, I don't know what is. And aren't we going to change that? Isn't that what this fight for Ace is all about? To make sure he doesn't grow up in the same dysfunction that you had to?"

Spencer just laughed. "Yeah. It is. I want things to be different for Ace. I want him to have a normal childhood. As normal as possible and I know that you'll help me give him that."

"Of course, I will. We're a team. Just you remember that."

Spencer pulled her into another kiss and as the credits of their movie rolled, they spent the last night of their honeymoon in Paris making passionate love, cementing their promise to always be together. Come what may.
