Halloween
My parents talked about 'Halloween' when I was younger, but I just don't get it.
(My mothers, actually. Both survived the Rising and met after being relocated near San Fran. Stereotypical, but eh.)
So basically you take a defenceless child.
Put said defenceless child in a costume that hampers ease of movement. Store bought out of flammable plastic, or home made out of tight, constricting fabric.
Put a mask on them that cuts their vision. Or nearly blinds them, depending.
Then take them out in twilight or even full dark. Back when you had cars and other vehicles racing along back streets.
So you go door to door to strangers houses. With no blood tests. And take candy from them which you don't know where it's from or what possibly could have been done to it.
Then you go home, gorge yourself, and possibly be sick.
Yeah, I think I'll pass...

Notes: Just a drabble. It occurred to me that folks in the Newsflesh series are probably no longer into stuff like Halloween and such.
I might try to do a Christmas oriented fanfic, since I seem to recall Maggie liked doing social events. Despite being considered odd for doing that. Heh. We'll see.
