Chapter 20: Escape From Gomamon Island

Crusadermon and Duskmon stepped out of the bright white crack into a dark cavernous room illuminated by a soft glowing light in the center. Dynasmon immediately sank to one knee and kneeled before whatever he was looking at, annoying Crusadermon. "What the hell are you doing?"

"Mind your tongue! Don't you know who that is?" Duskmon said, averting his gaze from the light.

"Should I?" Crusadermon tilted her head to the side, squinting to get a better look. Now that she was actually looking, she could vaguely make out a figure in the center of it. Some kind of small child, although she still didn't get why Duskmon cared so much about whoever that was. "So it's some kid. Does it matter?"

"That is our Lord Lucemon!" Dynasmon finally snapped at her, raising his voice just enough that even she had to wince at its sharpness. But before she could step away from him, the child closed the gap between them and slammed Dynasmon into the ground.

"You're too loud!" the child scowled, stepping on Dynasmon's neck hard to make him shut up. Now that she could see it, the child dressed only in a long flowing white robe wrapped around his waist like a toga. The only obvious clue that this was no mere child were the four pairs of white wings from his back, with another pair wrapping around his waist, and a sixth pair growing from just above his ears. Now that she could see him up close, she was certain that this was in fact Lucemon.

"My Lord Lucemon! Forgive me," Duskmon hacked out as Lucemon proceeded to press down on his head.

"Why do you call me Lord Lucemon? Do you think I'm a god? Does treating me with reverence give you pleasure?" Lucemon asked quietly, turning his attention towards Crusadermon.

Crusadermon considered asking Lucemon to step off Dynasmon for a moment, but she was also greatly enjoying watching someone finally knock some sense into Dynasmon. Until it occurred to her that she might be the next target of Lucemon's wrath. She raised a hand and waved awkwardly at him, "Sup."

Lucemon's eyes darted towards her, examining her carefully. She shifted uncomfortably, raising her weapons up in a defensive posture in case Lucemon planned on attacking. For a while, the only sound between them was Dynasmon's gagging. Hearing him gagging and knowing she could be next helped her summon enough courage to finally speak, "You probably don't remember since it's been a while since we last spoke but I'm Crusadermon and this is Dynasmon. I promise I'm not going to call you Lord Lucemon or…do whatever Dynasmon has been doing."

Lucemon continued to examine her, as he dug his foot deeper into Dynasmon's neck. He stepped off the digimon and his tone shifted to be more calm, "No, I'm not a fan of that. I haven't been since the Guardians. All their pomp and their arrogance. Oh, you can't do this because destiny says you can't! You need to do this because destiny says you should. Damn was that annoying. Just like the Guardians themselves if I'm being honest."

Dynasmon began to choke and whine as Lucemon's foot dug deeper into his neck. It was becoming too much for Crusadermon to handle and she cleared her throat to get his attention. Lucemon looked up from his rant to see her pointing down at Dynasmon. But Lucemon only dug his foot deeper into the digimon's neck, "Yeah, no. He can stay down there. If he wants to treat me like some kind of god, then I'm going to act like it. And I would be a very vengeful god."

"Wouldn't he be more helpful alive?" Crusadermon insisted.

Lucemon put a hand to his chin, as if to consider her point but kept his foot firmly on Dynasmon's neck. "I suppose. But that all depends on if he's going to keep up this whole I am loyal to the plan shtick he's doing or not."

"He won't. I'll vouch for him," Crusadermon said quickly. After a moment, Lucemon finally stepped off the digimon's neck and floated backwards.

"Okay, he gets one chance. One. But if he does this again, then I won't show mercy," Lucemon said quietly. Duskmon stood up and began massaging his throat.

"Thank you, Lo-" Duskmon Dynasmon, stopping when he saw the scowl appear on Lucemon's face. He coughed and pretended to clear his throat before correcting himself, "I meant, Lucemon. For…Sorry, about all that."

Lucemon ignored him completely and kept his attention solely on Crusadermon, "So, I assume you're in charge. What's been going on up there while I've been stuck down here?"

"We've got a lot to catch you up on," Crusadermon said quietly, looking to Dynasmon in confusion. She half expected Lucemon to be more aware than he was right now and yet it seemed more like he had been woken up from a nap.

Whamon swam to the first island he could find and dropped them off on its sandy shores before sailing away. He departed without a word, cementing how little he actually wanted to do with them.

"Geez, he could've at least said bye," JP said quietly.

"Well, we did end up shooting him a lot. I'd ditch us, too," Zoe remarked quietly, turning her attention towards Koji. Koji continued to stretch and move his arm carefully, testing it as he bent at different angles and rotated it around. "How's your arm, Koji?"

"As good as new," Koji replied quietly, flexing his arm and massaging where it had previously been broken. Zoe couldn't believe how easily it had been fixed and was still taken aback by how healed his arm was. "Thanks."

"Don't mention it," Tamer said, scooping up a handful of sand and letting it slowly filter between his fingers to the ground. He dusted his palms off before heading off down the beach.

"Where are you going!?" Zoe called out after him, hurrying to catch up with him before he got too far away. She looked back to see the other hesitantly following, talking to themselves about something.

"Trying to figure out where we are!" he called back, continuing on. After walking in silence for some time, Tamer stopped to scoop up another handful of sand. Once again, he let it slide out of his hands before licking palms.

"Going by the sand quality, we're on Gomamon Island," he announced.

Zoe stared at him with narrowed eyes, "And we're supposed to believe you can tell that just by the sand?"

"If you don't believe me, we can always ask those Gomamon over there," Tamer replied, pointing out ahead to many white seal digimon further down the beach. They laid across towels and other cloth blankets splayed out over the sand to take in the sun, while others played cheerfully in the water.

"Yeah, and you didn't figure it out from the digimon," JP shook his head.

"Forget about that. We should probably keep moving before Ranamon comes back. The last thing we need is for her to return again with all these Gomamon around," Zoe said quietly. "And we still need to get back to Bokomon and Neemon!"

"If we're on Gomamon Island, then that means we're not too far from the mainland so getting to them will be easy. It'll just be a question of getting there," Tamer said quietly, turning his attention skyward. "Going by the time of day and the position of the sun, I'd say north is that way. Which means the main land will be…that way."

He turned and pointed off in a direction past the Gomamon in what would've been west. Tamer quickly added, "We're gonna need a boat."

"Yeah, sure. Let's just make a boat and sail our way there," JP repeated sarcastically.

"Well how else do you suppose we get back to Bokomon and Neemon?" Tomoki asked.

"It's better than sitting around here," Koji said quietly, spirit evolving into Lobomon. He raised up his sword and began chopping down nearby trees.

"I like the way you think!" Tamer smiled at JP, raising up his digivice to spirit evolve into Agunimon and joining Lobomon in tearing apart nearby trees.

JP scoffed, "I wasn't being serious. I mean, how would we even know if the boat would make the trip back!?"

When Agunimon didn't respond, JP called out again, "Hey! Are you listening?"

"Hm?" Agunimon stopped after felling another tree.

JP sighed, scratching his head, "Okay, be real with me: how screwed are we? Assuming we even make it back to the mainland, how are the five of us going to take on an army? We barely managed to beat the Dark Warriors or the D-Reaper. What chances do we have against an army like that?"

"One thing at a time! First we get off the island, then we worry about the army," Tamer answered quietly. He raised up his digivice and transformed directly into Agunimon, using his fists and legs to start kicking apart nearby trees and shaping them into logs. "I mean, numbers and strength only mean so much. If they were all that mattered, we wouldn't be here."

"You really know how to say exactly what we need to hear to be completely demoralized. Y'know that?" Lobomon remarked.

"Do any of you even know how to make a boat?" Zoe asked.

"I'm just kinda winging it," Agunimon answered. "Are any of you going to help?"

All the commotion Agunimon made as he tore apart the island finally caught the attention of the nearby Gomamon who started approaching to watch them. However, they kept a cautious distance away from them, not that Zoe could blame them. She'd be spooked too if she a bunch of weirdos appear out of nowhere and start cutting down trees at their vacation spot. Only one of them was brave enough to come forward "Hey, what are you guys doing?"

Zoe looked down to see the little digimon and was taken aback not just by how cute it was up close, but also how adorable it's voice. Without even thinking, she scooped the digimon up in her arms and squealed, "Oh wow! You guys are adorable!"

"Yeah, I am pretty awesome," the Gomamon said cheerily. "But seriously, what are you guys doing?"

"We're trying to make a boat so we can get off the island," JP answered.

"What do you mean we? Lobomon and I are doing all the work!" Agunimon said indignantly, although nobody paid him any attention. Tomoki came over to Zoe happily, bouncing as he looked at the little seal in her arms.

"Oh wow, they are cute! Can I pet him?" Tomoki asked excitedly. It was nice to see him smile and gleeful instead of crying like she'd normally seen him.

"Why are you asking her? I'm right here!" the Gomamon pointed out to Tomoki. "And can you put me down now? I feel like you guys aren't taking me seriously."

"R-right, sorry," Zoe quickly set the little seal down, embarrassed now that she realized that she had just picked up the little digimon without asking. Once he was back on the sand, the Gomamon dusted off his fur and straightened out his hair.

"So, how did you guys get on our island? No one's been able to make it past the whirlpools in a long time," the Gomamon asked curiously.

"You make it sound like you're trapped here," Koji said.

"We are. They're pretty far out so you can't see them but this island is surrounded by them! And the currents of the nearby whirlpools are too strong for any of us to swim past. If it wasn't for the fact that fish often swim into the whirlpools and get spat back out here on the island, we'd have starved a long time ago," Gomamon explained to them, gesturing towards the ocean. "How did you guys even get on here?"

JP thumbed over his shoulder, "We hitched a ride on Whamon. Long story. He took us here and then left, but we didn't see any whirlpools on our way here."

"Well he is a big digimon, he probably didn't even notice the whirlpools when he swam by. Which is a shame because we really could've used a ride off the island," the Gomamon frowned, looking back to the other Gomamon. They collectively shrugged and hung their heads quietly. "More importantly, what exactly happened for Whamon to give you guys a ride here? He's usually hanging out at the bottom of the ocean doing his own thing."

Agunimon dropped everything he was doing and looked up in realization, "I can't believe it, Whamon left us here on purpose."

Zoe didn't like the fact that they'd come to the same conclusion, and was left to wonder if they'd really annoyed Whamon that badly.

"If we knew you guys were trapped, we would've asked Whamon to give you a ride. But I don't think he would've wanted to. I don't think he was very happy after we got caught up fighting Ranamon," Zoe explained to the Gomamon. They shifted uncomfortably at the sound of Ranamon's name and there was some murmur of annoyance.

"That Ranamon. She's been promising to help us off this island for a long time but I think she's just using it as an excuse to get free stuff from us," one of the Gomamon complained quietly. Zoe's heart stopped at the sound of Ranamon's name. She'd come here before? She looked to JP and could see the panic clear on his face.

"Ranamon's been here?" he gasped out, mouth hanging open as he stammered at the revelation.

"She hasn't been here in a while, but yeah," the Gomamon nodded.

"Crap, we need to get off this island!" JP said quickly, transforming into Beetlemon and rushing to help cut down more trees.

"Where did the whirlpools even come from? Gomamon Island didn't have any whirlpools last I checked," Agunimon said, dragging another log to the beach and clapping the dirt off his hands.

"They showed up after the merge, when the two worlds became one. It wasn't a big deal to us since it just meant more friends to have fun with. But then the whirlpools showed up at the same time. That's been less fun," the Gomamon said. Zoe was relieved to hear that, mostly because she hadn't seen any Digimon getting along since they first got here except for Neemon and Bokomon.

"Well, if we can get this boat together, we can try sailing past it!" Agunimon said as he began arranging the wooden logs in a row and stripping the bark off in long strips.

"If we can't make it past the whirlpools by swimming, how are you going to fare much better in a raft?" the Gomamon asked quizzically. It was a fair question and even Zoe couldn't quite follow Tamer's logic on the boat. At best he was making a raft and there was no way they would be able to get from this tiny island to a continent on the other side of the world on just a raft. Let alone past the whirlpools. But that didn't deter Tamer from going.

"Well, it's a good thing you've got a couple of digidestined here with the power to turn into digimon with the power of their guardian spirits," Agunimon said proudly. "Tomoki over here can turn into Kumamon and use his ice powers to freeze the water as we get closer to the whirlpools. We just use that to make a ramp and leap over the whirlpools."

"That…could work," Gomamon said, opening his mouth to protest before giving it some thought. "But we'll need a lot of speed to make that jump."

"And that's where Kazemon comes in! Kazemon uses her wings to generate the wind we need on the sail to give us some much need speed. If we go fast enough, we can make the jump and get over the whirlpool easily," Agunimon said proudly, before gesturing at the many towels and blankets the Gomamon had along the beach.

"But that didn't work when I tried to freeze up the water when we fought Ranamon. Why would it suddenly work now?" Tomoki reminded him.

"Because you're not trying to freeze a pillar of water. You're just trying to freeze a ramp for us to get over the whirlpools," Agunimon said confidently.

Zoe and Tomoki exchanged concerned looks - as if he expected her to be able to tell if this plan could work or not. She supposed it was worth a shot since it wasn't like they had any other plans worth trying. She shuddered at the thought of trying to use the Digiport again and getting shunted off to another part of the Digital World.

"Excuse me but were you going to ask to use our towels and blankets?" Gomamon asked.

"I'm asking now! Can we use the blankets and towels to make a sail? We need them if we're going to get off the island," Agunimon said more than asked of the little Gomamon who's eyes narrowed in suspicion. The Gomamon all turned to look at each other, seemingly unconvinced of Tamer's plan to get off the island. "I know what you're thinking. But this is a chance to get off the island. And we're all going to have to work together if we want off of here."

The silence lasted a moment longer before the Gomamon all nodded silently among each other, "Y'know, you really remind me of someone I don't like. But if it'll get us all off the island, then we'll help anyway we can."

After two day's worth of work, Zoe put her hands to her hips and looked out onto the raft. It was definitely big enough to hold all five of them plus the Gomamon. It would be cramped but they could definitely make it work. While they had assembled the raft, she and Tomoki stitched together the blankets and towels to make a sail and using broken branches as a make shift needle and stripped barked as string. It wasn't exactly pretty to look at but it would work for what they needed. Hopefully, anyway. Then Agunimon and Lobomon hoisted it onto a central mast and get it ready for the voyage.

Excited at a chance to escape the island, the Gomamon helped by gathering the supplies they did have - mostly dried fruits and fish that they'd salted to preserve in case of times when food became scarce on their little island. Despite their relaxed and leisurely lifestyle, the Gomamon turned out to be a lot more resourceful and reliable than she would've expected. Not wanting to sit idly by, she offered to help load some of their supplies onto the raft, helping to lug the bags of dried fish onto the ship.

"You guys really are prepared for this sort of thing, huh?" Zoe remarked as she dropped the bag onto the raft.

"Thanks! I learned that a little preparation goes a long way from a human I knew a long time ago!" the Gomamon said.

"Really? Who was that?" Zoe asked, raising an eyebrow at how casually this Gomamon mentioned knowing humans.

The Gomamon nodded and happily added, "Yeah! We were partners too! The last time I saw him, he was all grown up and a doctor. I don't know where he is now and it's been a while since I've seen him. But I like to keep hope that we'll see each other again. And you know? Seeing you guys means that I'll definitely get to see him again. I just hope that when that day gets here, Tamer isn't involved. It really gets on my nerves whenever he shows up."

Zoe looked back at Agunimon, but refrained from mentioning anything to the little seal. There was no point in asking what Tamer could've done to wrong the Gomamon since it couldn't have been any different from what happened to Gatomon or any of the other digimon who generally didn't have anything nice to say about him. And the last thing she needed was another reason to doubt whether or not she should be putting trust in the only one who seemed to know what was going on. She needed to keep the topic from being about him, "I hope you get to meet your partner again, someday."

"Me too," the Gomamon said. "Come on. We should probably finish loading up these bags."

It took them a little longer to finish loading up the remaining supplies they had. As they did, a few of the other Gomamon began preparing some of the fish they'd freshly caught for dinner. The smell had her salivating every time she walked past the fire they were roasting the fish over and she was already eyeing a few of the larger ones for herself to eat. She wanted to get herself one as soon as they were done.

They all awoke early the next morning, making the final preparations to get the ship rolling out to sea. Everyone transformed into their digimon forms to get everything ready. It took the combined might of Lobomon, Beetlemon, and Agunimon to get the boat out into the water. Then everyone got aboard and they began their plans. Kumamon used his powers to freeze the waters as they made their way out, but that proved difficult both with how the waves grew larger the further out they got and with how salty the water was.

"You're doing great Kumamon! Keep freezing the water in front of us as cold as you can and we'll get through this!" Agunimon shouted.

"SHUT UP! I'M CONCENTRATING!" Kumamon shouted back, using more of his powers to freeze the waters in front of him as they went.

"So when do I do my part!?" Kazemon asked Tamer as the boat went further out to sea.

"As soon as we get past the waves! Once we're out in open water, generate as much speed as you can," Agunimon said, creating a ball of fire in his hand and steadying it in his hand. Once they made it past the last large wave, they found themselves out in open water and sailing towards the ocean. And as they got further out, they could begin to see the whirlpools just over the horizon of the water.

"There they are!" one of the Gomamon shouted.

"Are you sure this will work?" another asked.

"No. But it will be fun to find out!" Agunimon said, finally punching the fireball to propel the raft forward. "Kazemon! Now make some wind to give us speed! Kumamon! Make as big of a ramp as you can just as we get to the edge of the whirlpool!"

"Got it!" Kazemon leapt up into the air, concentrating energy in her fingertips and releasing a blast of wind, "HURRICANE WAVE!"

The wind hit against the sail and sent the raft hurtling towards the ringed spiral of death. That just left Kumamon to make the ice ramp as big and powerful as he needed to be. Kazemon could see him struggling with all his might to freeze the ocean waters ahead of him. But the speed of the raft made it plow through the ice as fast as Kumamon could make it, and she could see Kumamon tiring himself out trying to refreeze the path just ahead. She wanted to slow down to give him more time to do it and she eased up on the wind to slow the raft down.

"More speed, Kazemon! We'll never make the jump at this rate!" Agunimon shouted at her.

She clicked her tongue and called out to Kumamon, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine!" Kumamon shouted back. He clearly wasn't fine. He looked ready to collapse.

"We need more ice for a ramp, Kumamon!" Agunimon shouted.

"I know!" Kumamon snapped back, sounding ready to bite his head off.

"We need you to make that ramp as high as you can once we get to the edge of the whirlpool!" Agunimon reminded him.

"I know!" Kumamon said again, more firmly as he shot out more ice from the tips of his fingers. The whirlpool was getting closer and Kumamon still hadn't created enough ice to safely form a ramp to make any kind of jump over the vortex. At the rate they were going, the only way they'd be able to make it would be to sail around it. Kazemon scanned the horizon but couldn't see anyway to get around any of the whirlpools without getting sucked in by the current. Again she tried to slow down the raft but Agunimon would remind her that they needed more speed when she did.

As they reached the edge of the whirlpool. Kazemon could see Kumamon giving all he could to get a ramp of ice out in front of them, and she gave the raft all the speed it needed. But it wasn't enough and the ice ramp collapsed as soon as they plowed into it. All she could do was watch as they were pulled in with the current.

"Crap!"

"Hang on to something!"

"Aaaah!" The raft was sucked immediately into the current of the whirlpool and they found themselves circling towards the center. Everyone screamed as the raft was pulled into the center.

"What do we do?"

"Hang on!" Kazemon said, grabbing a hold of the top of the raft and lifting with all her might to pull the raft out of its downward spiral but it was no use.

"We're gonna get pulled down!" JP shouted.

"I knew this was a bad idea!" one of the Gomamon shouted.

"Kazemon! Create a gust of wind as strong as you can! Aim it directly at the sail!" Agunimon shouted over the roar of the whirlpool.

"Why!?" she shouted back at him.

"Just do it!" he said again, hurrying towards the center mast of the raft. He grabbed hold of it and angled it so that the sail was aimed away from the center of the whirlpool.

"What are you doing!?" she shouted at him.

"New idea! We ride the whirlpool and use the momentum to break out of its pull!" he shouted. Kazemon didn't like how this plan was shaping up but didn't have anything else to offer in protest to it. So she aimed her fingers directly at the sail and summoned all of the wind that she could, giving the raft all the speed she could muster as Agunimon used the sails to steer it. They went around and around the edges of the whirlpool, circling closer towards the edge as everyone panicked. Kazemon's head started to spin as her vision started blurring from the repeated circular motion.

"What are you talking about!?" Koji shouted from the edge of the raft, barely able to turn his head and look at Agunimon.

"We use the pull of the whirlpool to gain speed and use it to slingshot ourselves out of here!" He declared at the top of his lungs. As he said that, Kazemon could feel the raft moving faster, to the point that she was barely able to stay on. But Agunimon did as he said and steered the raft with the current, slowly gaining more speed as they got closer to the center. Then, just as they were about to be sucked in, Agunimon adjusted the sail to steer the raft away. By then, it had gained enough momentum to fight the current and start sailing away from the center. And in one rocky motion, the raft went flying out of the whirlpool and into the air.

For a split second, everyone was lifted off raft as it sailed through the air. Then it struck the water, bouncing off its surface and shaking everyone aboard. Except for Kazemon who was the only one not holding on to something as she was thrown backwards off the raft into the whirlpool. She tried to correct herself, but the dizzying experience of the whirlpool left her disoriented and unable to tell which way was up.

Before she could orient herself, she fell into the whirlpool and found the current pulling her away. She'd been sucked back into the whirlpool and was left powerless to do anything against the current.

"KAZEMON!" she heard someone shout before the current pulled her fully under. She opened her mouth to gasp for breath instinctively and instead only got a mouthful of water that flooded her lungs. She coughed and gagged, flailing her arms to try and get back above the water's surface. But the harder she fought, the further she fell into the water.

"Oh my, you've met with a terrible fate, haven't you? Have you tried not drowning?" a voice echoed inside her head. A completely different voice from Kazemon. She forced one eye open to see a solitary light at the bottom of one of the whirlpools. "Wait a second, aren't you Kazemon? So…oh! You must be the digidestined holding the Human Spirit of Wind."

Kazemon opened her mouth to scream for help only to get another mouthful of water. The Guardian Spirit laughed, "Okay, you're right. We shouldn't waste time talking. Let's get you out of there. My name's Zephyrmon, by the way. I am the Beast Spirit of Wind. It'll be a pleasure to work with you. Now let's get you out of here."

Kazemon could feel herself losing consciousness as the crushing pressure of the ocean depths finally got to her, squeezing out any remaining air she had in her lungs.

"Kazemon!" JP shouted as they watched her disappear beneath the waves. "No! NO! We have to go help her!"

"How!? None of us can swim in a current like that!" the Gomamon pointed out to JP. He could feel his heart sinking deep into his chest at the idea that Zoe of all people would perish here. He was scared. He was angry. He hurriedly began taking off his jumper, moving towards the edge. Perhaps if he leapt into the water, he could grab a hold of her and pull her out. He could save her if he just went in and-

"JP! Don't!" Agunimon shouted, grabbing his arm and pulling him back before he could leap into the frigid waters.

"Let go of me! I'm not going to leave her!" he spat back, still making an attempt to get into the water.

"And then what? You'll just get swept away and drown in the waters too!" Agunimon said.

"So what!? We just let her drown!?" JP growled, unable to imagine Agunimon could be so heartless. Unless this was what he wanted. If this was that whole destiny he was going on about, there was no way to know this wasn't a part of Tamer's plan for them. He could have knowingly dragged Zoe to her death and there was nothing any of them could do about it.

Just as JP was about to throw a fist at Agunimon, a light broke through the waters surface. It rose up, creating a wave that knocked the raft further from the whirlpool and soaked them all in water. Then the light turned in the air and raced towards the raft, landing steadily on the wooden surface before fading away to reveal a beast of a woman with wings coming from her back and head. The woman collapsed to the ground unconscious, then transformed in a flash of light into Zoe. JP's heart raced when he saw her finally appear - safe. But her stillness gave him another reason to panic. She wasn't moving. Why wasn't she moving!?

"Zoe!" Kumamon said, running to her side and shaking the girl.

"She needs CPR!" the Gomamon said to Kumamon, who looked at him quizzically.

"One side!" Koji said as he knelt down opposite Kumamon. He put a hand on her chest and pushed hard against it, repeating this motion several times as he counted to twenty. Then he tilted her head up and put his mouth on hers without a moment's hesitation. Kumamon blushes and looked away in embarrassment but JP was angered that Koji was doing anything like that.

"Hey! Get off her creep!" JP snapped.

Koji continued unabated, stopping only to examine her chest before cursing, "Dammit. She's not breathing. Come on! Come on! You're not dying here!"

He began pressing against her chest again, counting as he went until he got to twenty where he would continue to put his mouth on hers. He did this several more times until Zoe coughed up a mouthful of water into Koji's mouth and she gasped for breath between pained coughs.

"Zoe!" Kumamon said, throwing his arms around her in a hug as she sat up. "You're alive!"

"I am?" She asked between coughs, looking around in a daze. "Where are we? Did we make it?"

"Yes. We did," Agunimon answered.

Author's Notes: The digidestined have escaped Gomamon Island and Zoe found her Guardian Spirit. Will it be enough to reunite with Bokomon and Neemon? And where did those two digimon go anyway? Find out all this and more in the next chapter of The Tamer v3.0 due out in three weeks on June 3rd, 2022 at 8 PM CST. I'm going to try to get back to the normal schedule now that I've finished up a good chunk of my other side projects to see if I'm able to do it post-COVID. In the meantime, progress is still going on The Tamer v1.3 which I'm hoping to have the first chapter ready for with the next chapter of The Tamer v3.0. That's all I have for now, so l hope to see you guys with the next chapter!
