Chapter 22: It's Not Worth Your Life

"Okay! How about this!?" JP said quickly, holding the camera up for Arbormon to see while waving his hands over them in what he must've thought was a mystic motion, "Now! Watch closely! Be amazed as I make the camera disappear!"

As he finished, JP turned around and bolted back into the town faster than he'd run from Datamon. Zoe wasn't sure if she was more disappointed in how quickly he'd abandoned them or stuneed by how quickly JP ran.

"Wow! He was right! I am amazed! He really is making that camera disappear. Just look at him go!" The wooden digimon applauded cheerfully. He put his hand to his hips and nodded approvingly before turning down to the remaining members, "What about you guys? Don't you wanna run too?"

Zoe blinked, "You're just gonna let us?"

Arbormon's smile widened, "It's more fun for me if you run for your lives. After all, the chase is much more fun than the catch."

"Then why would we run?" Tamer asked.

"Because if you don't run, I'll still kill you. It'll just be less fun for me," Arbormon said with an eerily creepy grin.

Tamer ignored Arbormon's grin and continued to stare after JP in the direction that he had run, "I was referring to the fact that JP ran back into the town which is an odd decision when you consider we intentionally ran out of the town. That's just going to cause us more trouble in the long run."

"More trouble than a fight with me?" Arbormon's grin continued to grow eerily.

The only thing more unsettling than it's grin was the smile that appeared on Tamer's face, "You make a very good point. Counter point: you're made of wood, correct?"

"Well, technically I'm only coated in wood. It's actually more of a-" Arbormon began to explain happily only to interrupted by a flash of light from Tamer's digivice.

"SPIRIT EVOLUTION!"

Tamer transformed into Agunimon in a flash of light and punched a ball of fire directly at Arbormon. Zoe grabbed a hold of Tomoki and pulled him away from the heat, both of them falling into the dirt to escape the flames. Zoe looked up and shouted, "A little warning would've been nice!"

"I didn't see you getting mad when JP ran away!" Agunimon said, walking towards Arbormon as he threw more fire at the digimon. At that close range and with that intensity of heat, there was no doubt that Arbormon had been burned alive. It was unremarkably cruel, but Zoe couldn't feel anything close to sympathy when she thought about how those digimon hurt her and the others not too long ago. "Speaking of, can someone go get him before he gets into trouble? We don't know who else is here and the last thing we need is one of those other guys cornering him in the village!"

"I'll get him!" Koji volunteered quickly, turning off to go chase after him.

"If I were you, I'd be less worried about your friend and more worried about how I'm going to break you!" Arbormon said, emerging through Agunimon's flames covered in burn marks but seemingly unfazed by the flames.

"What!? Those flames should've burned you alive!" Tomoki gasped out in surprise.

"Oh believe me, these fires hurt! But that just means I'll have to hurt you more!" Arbormon said grimly, lifting Agunimon up over his head and throwing him down onto the ground. From the ground, Agunimon tried punching a few more fireballs at the wooden Digimon, but the wooden Digimon sidestepped his attacks. Then he gave a sharp kick straight into Agunimon's side with a harsh laugh. "Oh please! If that didn't work the first time, why would it work again!?"

Zoe and Tomoki swapped worried glances, no longer wanting to sit idly by while Tamer took a serious beating. Together, the two lifted up their digivices and shouted together Tomoki. "Spirit Evolution!"

"Kumamon!"

"Zephyrmon!"

The two emerged from their transformations and charged Arbormon before he had a chance to react to them. Zephyrmon grabbed Arbormon from behind and began lifting the giant wooden digimon up into the sky - dragging him up so that he was flailing wildly. "Hey! Let me go!"

"If you say so!" Zephyrmon released the wooden digimon. She expected him to hit the ground hard but instead he caught himself and dove straight towards Agunimon. Thankfully, Kumamon used his ice powers to create a wall of ice just above Agunimon to protect him. Arbormon landed on it with a crash, and slipped down the side onto the sandy beach.

"Sorry!" Zephyrmon called out to Kumamon and Agunimon, keeping her attention on Arbormon as he struggled to get back up on his feet.

"Come on! We should get out of here!" Kumamon said, trying to drag Agunimon out from under the ice wall. By then, their fight had attracted the attention of several guards who rushed out to find the cause of the fighting.

The guards - made up of more assorted digimon wearing green arm bands - encircled them all and shouted, "What's going on here!?"

JP rushed through the crowd, trying to put as much distance between himself and Arbormon as possible.

"JP! Wait!" Koji shouted from somewhere behind him in the crowd. JP slid to a stop and looked back to see Koji racing to reach him. And no one else.

"Koji!? Where is everyone?" JP asked, scanning the crowd for their faces. He was sure they were all behind him when he started running. "Wait, did I outrun everyone!? I didn't think I was going that fast!"

"You weren't. It really didn't take me that long to catch up." Koji answered, hitting JP right in his ego. He knew he wasn't the fastest runner but he didn't need someone else to tell him that. Koji then went on to add, "You were just the only one to take off. I went after you to stop you before you got too far or ran into trouble."

"You mean like the trouble we left behind back there?" JP gestured back in the direction of Arbormon and the others. He retrieved the camera from his back pocket and cradled it in his hands. "Besides, Tomoki says the Guardian Spirit is in this thing? How do we get it out?"

"We could smash it," Koji suggested, eyeing the camera carefully. On the surface, it really looked like any old fashioned wooden camera and he couldn't figure out how they were supposed to get inside the thing.

"Shouldn't we have Tomoki smash it? He's the one who heard it calling to him and it wouldn't any good if either of us got a third spirit," JP reasoned, holding the camera closer in case Koji actually tried to break it. If the little guy were here, he'd probably be able to tell them what the Guardian Spirit was saying right now. Then again, if the solution was to smash it, JP could see Tomoki getting some serious excitement out of it. It probably would've been for the best since that kid definitely had to work out his anger issues from those bullies. "He might even like it too!"

"You'll do no such thing to my merchandise!" Datamon's voice shouted out at them from the crowd. Both boys jumped and turned to see the little digimon running towards them as fast as his little legs could carry. "Give it back and we don't need to get any guards involved!"

"Oh come on! From one problem to another," Koji grumbled quietly, scratching the back of his head. "Let's get back to the others."

"I'm really tired of all the running we've been doing today," JP said, turning on his heels and hurrying back towards the others. They both took off through the crowd, bumping their way past the many digimon busy going about their day and angering more than their fair share of digimon.

"Hey! Watch it!"

"This ain't a playground you damned kids!"

"I'm walking here!"

"And we're running here!" JP shouted back at the last digimon, a large red dinosaur with green fins on its back. It roared at them angrily, along with an ever growing crowd of angry digimon who were more than ready to come after them. "I think we just got the entire village angry at us!"

"We've already got an army mad at us. What's a village?" Koji added, picking up the pace just enough that JP was pretty sure he was trying to ditch him. It occurred to JP that he could spirit evolve into either Beetlemon or MetalKabuterimon. Either one of them could outrun the digimon faster than he ever could as JP. Then again, either one could also fire upon the other digimon and fight them off. No, he couldn't do that. That'd just make him a bigger bad guy than if he simply continued to run.

This must've been what it felt like to be Tamer, to have so many people angry at him over something that was out of his control. JP hated the idea of empathizing with arguably the most annoying person in the world but didn't have the energy to argue the point. He sighed and hurried along as fast as he could to put as much distance as possible between himself and the others.

Zephyrmon landed beside Kumamon and Agunimon as they were surrounded by various guards - some gray rabbit looking digimon that she vaguely recognized as Gazimon, others resembling lizards wearing wolf pelts, and one resembling a flying pink bird. The one thing all the digimon had in common were the green arm bands around them marking them as guards.

"Break it up! Whatever's going on, you need to take it somewhere else!" the pink bird shouted at then.

"He attacked us!" Kumamon pointed out.

"Technically, you attacked first. I was just acting in self defense," Arbormon said with a smug grin, pointing at the burn marks on his wooden body. "See? I have the burn marks to show."

"We-" Zephyrmon began to make a counter point only to be interrupted by one of the Gazimon.

"We don't care who started it! Take it somewhere else!" the Gazimon shouted, gesturing out towards the beach. When they didn't move, he looked towards the bird and asked, "Biyomon! Should we just take these guys!?"

"You don't understand! He's trying to take the Guardian Spirit!" Kumamon said quickly.

"What the hell is a Guardian Spirit?" the pink bird called Biyomon asked. "Wait, no! I don't care it! Go away before we make you leave."

"Well, that's not very hospitable of you," Arbormon protested, although Zephyrmon couldn't help but notice that the guards were taking a friendlier tone with Arbormon than they were with them.

"Hospitable? You're the ones causing a ruckus and getting noise complaints! You want to stay? You're gonna play nice! You want to fight? Take it somewhere else!" one of the lizards in a wolf pelt shouted at them angrily.

"We're sorry for the mess, we caused. We'll just be going now if that's okay? We won't be fighting, anymore," Agunimon said quietly, trying to push himself up. Kumamon helped him, shouldering Agunimon's arm so that he could stand and trying to walk away before things got even more out of hand.

"Promise? You're the ones who started it! If you let them go, they'll just go and start another fight with you someone else in your village!" Arbormon said angrily.

"STOP THOSE THIEVES!" they heard Datamon's voice shout from somewhere in the village, prompting everyone to turn their attention back through the gate. There, they could see JP and Koji running as quickly as they could with about half of the village chasing after them.

"Oh, what now?" Biyomon groaned as she watched the crowd coming closer.

"Guys! We might have screwed up!" JP shouted at them as they drew closer.

"Do you know those guys?" Biyomon asked through narrowed eyes at a visibly nervous Agunimon and Kumamon. Zephyrmon didn't want to think about how this must be looking to the guards who were definitely getting angrier with them.

"It's really not what it looks like," Zephyrmon said quickly.

"They stole my merchandise!" Datamon shouted as the pursuing crowd grew closer. The pink bird turned on them now and Zephyrmon was pretty sure she knew what the little bird was going to say.

In a last ditch attempt to resolve all of this peacefully, Zephyrmon quickly said, "If you'll just hear us out, it's really not as bad as it sounds."

"Yeah, we don't particularly care for thieves in this town. Bring them in!" Biyomon commanded of the other guards.

"Well, we tried," Agunimon said, turning towards Arbormon. He punched the air behind him, creating a blast of fire to propel himself forward at Arbormon - tackling the wooden digimon out onto the sand. "Get the others and the camera! Then we'll get out of here!"

"Got it!" Kumamon hurried back into the village to help JP and Koji get away from their pursuing crowd.

"You're doing all of this over a camera?" Biyomon said incredulously.

"It has a Guardian Spirit in it," Zephyrmon explained quickly.

"You keep saying that like it means something," the bird answered angrily.

"If you'd just let us explain, we could-" Zephyrmon tried to explain, only to be cut off when the other guards charged at her.

"JP! Koji! Duck!" Kumamon shouted at the pair of boys, summoning his ice powers to create a massive wall of ice between the boys and their pursuers. Instantly, their pursuers stopped but that was only a temporary delay. He could tell from the fact that they were still trying to break through the ice wall. He couldn't fathom what any of them had done to get this many angry Digimon after them. Kumamon sighed, "What did you guys even do!?"

"We ran into Datamon, ran away from him, bumped into half the village, and now we're here," JP explained quickly.

"I refuse to believe you got half the village mad at you by just bumping into everyone you saw," Kumamon said matter of factly. He heard a crack and could see the ice beginning to give way under the sustained attack of the digimon on the other side. He readied another blast of ice to reinforce his wall when he noticed a mechanical arm appear over the top. It was Datamon, climbing his way over the slick ice and pointing at them with an accusatory finger.

"Thief! Give me back my merchandise!" the robot cried out in anger.

"This guy is so persistent!" JP complained, grabbing a hold of Kumamon. "Come on! Let's go!"

Kumamon tried to protest but was dragged along with the others backs towards the gate where the others were caught in a fight between the Arbormon and the village guards.

"Stop right there! Surrender the stolen property!" Biyomon shouted at them.

"We've been over this! That's camera has a Guardian Spirit in it and we need it to-" Zephyrmon began explaining again to the digimon. As she spoke, Kumamon felt something tumble into his hand - the camera that JP had been holding until a moment ago.

JP leaned in on him and whispered, "Get the Guardian Spirit out of that thing so we can give it back. We'll try to smooth things over with those digimon."

JP hurried ahead to go talk to the pink bird digimon, leaving Kumamon to stand there examining the camera in his hand. Sure, it should've been easy to get the Guardian Spirit out but how? Smash it? Then that Datamon would never let them live it down! There had to be another way.

"This has been a very interesting day and I kind of want to go back to the digimon trying to sell junk if that's alright," the Guardian Spirit's voice echoed inside his head. "This day has really been kind of annoying."

"You can't! I need to get you out of there so I can use your power!" Kumamon pleaded with the Guardian Spirit who answered with a very loud groan.

"Then let me out. It's really not that hard," the Guardian Spirit said. It was amazing how that did almost nothing to answer the question of how to open the camera. He was about to lift it up over his head to smash it on the ground when he heard Datamon scream.

"GIVE IT BACK!"

Datamon leapt from out of nowhere and snatching the camera out of his hand. The little digimon scurried away towards the gate before Kumamon even knew what was happening. Kumamon just stared in shock, and quickly panicked as he went after the mechanical digimon.

"Guards! Help!" Datamon shouted, getting the attention of the other digimon at the gate. All eyes were now either on him or on Datamon. And it set off a scramble with everyone at the gate. The guards moved to protect Datamon while Agunimon and Zephyrmon tried to intercept the digimon. Thankfully, with his smaller size, Kumamon was able to better navigate the scuffle than the others were, but that didn't mean much when Datamon was smaller and could also just as easily move through the crowd.

That led Datamon to scurry his way through the embattled legs where he found himself face to face with JP and Koji who'd chosen to stay back.

"Hey! Give that back!" Koji cried out as he dove for the little digimon. Datamon yelped and ran towards JP, sliding between the boys legs so that Koji ended up crashing into JP.

"Watch it!" JP snapped at Koji who pushed himself back up.

"You watch it! He's getting away!" Koji shouted back, pointing at the little digimon rushing towards Arbormon who stood there waiting with open arms.

Datamon slid to a stop in front of the digimon and scowled. "What? Are you trying to take the camera, too?"

Arbormon chuckled and cracked his wooden knuckles together. "If I have to. But we both know that it'll be easier for both of us if you just give me the camera."

"And why would I do that?" Datamon's eyes narrowed.

"Because this-" Arbormon said smugly, disappearing into a glow of bright white light that absorbed his entire body. He floated up into the sky and the light grew with him to expand where his body had been. "Slide Evolution! Petaldramon!"

The light faded and the digimon was replaced by a long wooden dragon with a petals around its head. The size difference made Kumamon sweat just looking at it and he didn't understand how anyone could be so fearless. Petaldramon was now the size of a house and could easily step on everyone there. Until he noticed that Datamon appeared to be shaking in place. He appeared to be ready to offer up the camera, and Kumamon was sure he would until he turned and ran.

Datamon had barely taken a few steps back when Petaldramon's long wooden tail stabbed the ground. "Thorn Jab!"

Hundreds of thorny spikes shot out of the ground, forming a path towards Datamon that sent him flying. Then it kept on going into the scuffle between Zephyrmon, Agunimon, and the village guards who were scattered by the spikes.

"What the hell was that?" Zephyrmon cried out in a panic.

Kumamon pointed out Petaldramon and shouted, "It's Arbormon! He slide evolved!"

"Now give me the camera!" Petaldramon roared, charging towards where Datamon landed.

"What is the big deal with everyone and this Soul Stealer? Yeah, it's from the human world but it can't be that important! What is it, some kind of priceless antique!?" Datamon complained angrily, hanging from the top of one of the thorns that shot out of the ground.

"That camera-" Petaldramon began.

"SOUL STEALER! GET IT RIGHT!" Datamon insisted, only to be ignored.

"-has untold power sealed inside of it!" Petaldramon roared angrily. At this point, Kumamon expected Datamon to be more reasonable. But he didn't expect the electronic digimon to hold the camera closer.

"All I heard is that this just went up in value!" Datamon shouted. "We're now starting at fifty thousand! I'M GOING TO MAKE A KILLING TODAY! ANY BUYERS!?"

"THIS GUY IS TRYING TO KILL YOU AND YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT MAKING MONEY!" JP shouted out, but the robot merely laughed.

"And he's failing miserably. Just as badly as you kids! Now who wants the all powerful soul stealer!? One flash of light and watch as it takes your soul and puts it on a piece of paper!" Datamon said, swinging the camera over his head enthusiastically. Kumamon could hear the Guardian Spirit's voice echoing in his head and the many comments it was making about Datamon's character. None of which the boy quite understood. Although he got the gist that Datamon was a bit of an idiot. By then, Petaldramon leapt into the air after Datamon. He crashed into the wooden spike, shattering it into splinters and sending the robot flying into the air. "See! He missed!"

"Wasn't aiming at you!" Petaldramon roared as he slid along the ground, stopping directly where Datamon was flying and turning to face him with a wide open mouth. "I'm getting that camera if I have to eat you!"

"Wait! Let's talk about this!" Datamon said, falling into the dragon digimon's gaping maw. It was then that both JP and Koji finally saw fit to Spirit Evolve into their digimon forms.

"Spirit Evolution! KendoGarurumon!"

"Spirit Evolution! MetalKabuterimon!"

Just before Datamon could fall in, MetalKabuterimon fired a barrage of missiles and lasers from the many cannons all over his body at Petaldramon. The attacks found their mark and knocked the wooden dragon onto his side leaving Datamon to fall straight into Zephyrmon's arms so that she could carry him away.

"Who are you guys!?" Datamon screamed out in surprise.

"We're the digidestined," Zephyrmon answered, dropping the little robot beside Kumamon. "Now stay put while we deal with this guy!"

She hurried back to join the others as they took on Petaldramon. By then, even the village guards had joined the fight to concentrate their efforts on the wooden digimon. Although Kumamon wasn't really sure if that was a good or a bad thing. He wanted to run in and help, but wasn't sure adding another person into the mix was actually going to help things any more than they were right now.

"You kids are really the digidestined?" Datamon asked in awe.

Kumamon was surprised to see Datamon not calling them thieves at the moment or talking about money. In fact, all he could see on Datamon's eyes were genuine awe.

"Y-yeah. That's right," Kumamon answered. "And the power that guy was talking about is one of the Guardian Spirits. We need its power so that we can save the Digital World. So can we please have the camera?"

"It's a soul stealer," Datamon said half-heartedly. The robot paused as he went back and forth between the fight and the camera in his hands.

"Look, I get that camera is worth a lot to you but right now, that guy is after it so he can take its power to destroy the world! And guess what? There's more of him! If you're still holding that camera, then the others will come after you and I'm not sure we'll be able to do anything against them. So please, for both of our sakes, will you just give me the camera?" Kumamon pleaded, trying to appeal to Datamon's sense of honor or reason as digimon. For whatever that would've been worth to the mon.

And for a moment, he really thought he might've gotten through to the digimon. He watched Datamon's eyes go back and forth as he fell into deep thought. But then Datamon pulled the camera closer into his arms, "All that means is that the price of this camera just went up!"

"Are you even listening!? They don't want to pay! They want the camera and he's ready to eat you if you don't do it!" Kumamon said in frustration. As he said those words, he heard the others screamed and looked over to see Petaldramon covered in flames. It seemed Agunimon had managed to set him on fire but that did very little to actually slow the digimon down.

"THORN JAB!" Petaldramon shouted, digging his tail into the sand and launching flaming spikes out of the ground. The spikes formed a path that went directly towards Datamon who stood firm in his ground. Now there was certainty in Datamon's eyes and he passed the camera to Kumamon.

"Fine…just…just don't show me what you do with it," he said sheepishly.

Kumamon nodded and took the camera, noting the pained expression on Datamon's face. The poor guy definitely looked ready to cry, but Kumamon didn't want to focus on that. Instead, he looked at the camera and noticed something he missed the first time - a slot on the side that blended in seamlessly with the rest of the wooden build. The only reason he noticed it was the fact that the grain didn't quite match with the rest of the wood. Quickly, Kumamon popped open a panel that revealed a hidden compartment filled with a soft glowing light.

"Finally. I was wondering when someone was going to let me out of there," the spirit replied as it floated up into the air. "So…I take it that you are my partner? I am Korikakumon. It's a pleasure to meet you. Now let's see about getting this over with and helping your friends. Today has been ridiculous so the sooner this is over, the better as far as I'm concerned."

The light jumped from camera into Kumamon and he felt an overwhelming power overtake. "Slide Evolution! Korikakumon!"

The light faded away to reveal a large gorilla like Digimon with flowing white fur and horns growing out of his head. The only off set was the elongated snout that resembled a wolf's head more than anything ape like. On the plus side, two large axes appeared in each hand with this new form and a courageous energy that he's never known before.

"No! You weren't supposed to get that!" Petaldramon shouted, charging forward still covered in flames.

Korikakumon passed the camera back to Datamon thankfully but kept his eye on the charging dragon Digimon. The wooden dragon leapt into the air, still covered in flames but he didn't feel intimidated at all as Korikakumon. Instead, he readied the twin axes in his hand and swung them as the dragon came crashing down on top of them. With one smooth swing, the axes cut through the wooden digimon's fore legs and he stumbled as he tried to land on the sand without them.

"ARGH! YOU ASS!" the Digimon roared in anger, still burning in what must've been unending agony as the heat cooked him alive. "I'm going to kill you! Then I'm going to take that power anyway! Now die!"

Despite his threat, Petaldramon was left to flail on the ground with only his hind legs. As the others hurried to surround him, the wooden dragon Digimon seemed to finally understand that he was outnumbered and outmatched in this scenario.

"Tch. Not good," Petaldramon hissed as he stepped away, horrified as the fact that he would lose finally sank in. "They'll forgive you. Time to go!"

He turned on his tail and scurried back towards the ocean, trying to put as much distance between them as possible. But Korikakumon didn't wait for him to go away, instead giving chase before the Digimon could get too far away. He sprinted as fast as he could before leaping up into the air with both axes over his head. "Avalanche Axes!"

He brought both axes down on top of Petaldramon's head as he tried to scurry away, striking hard enough to send splinters of wood flying. The Digimon didn't even scream as the axes dug into his head - he simply took a few more steps before faltering and falling flat onto his stomach. It took a few pulls to get his axes out of the Woden digimon's head, but Korikakumon gladly walked away once he saw the Digimon wasn't getting back up. He was out cold.

He smiled proudly at his victory, before noticing the others were staring at him with wide eyed disbelief.

Korikakumon looked at them quizzically, "What?"

"We just…didn't expect you to kill the guy," KendoGarurumon answered quietly.

"Wait, what?" Korikakumon spun around and witnessed the digimon beginning to dissipate into small bits of data. Korikakumon felt a pit in his stomach as the digimon turned to nothing and he realized he'd hit the digimon much harder than he'd intended.

"You hit him in the head with an axe after you cut off his arms. How would that not kill him?" Agunimon explained matter of factly.

"YOU LIT HIM ON FIRE!" Korikakumon protested, voice shaking angrily.

"To be fair, I also killed Cerberumon when you guys first got here. Nobody would be surprised if I did it," Agunimon answered matter of factly.

Korikakumon's mind raced as the weight of his actions finally sank in. It had been so easy. So sudden. If this had been anyone else, he probably wouldn't have even thought about it. Actually, he didn't think about it. He just did it. And he felt nothing over it.

What was wrong with him?

"Hey, are you okay buddy?" MetalKabuterimon asked.

"Y-yeah," he lied. He really wasn't and he wasn't sure how to feel about the fact that he'd so easily taken another life without even hesitating. What did that even say about him!?

"Anyway, congrats on finally getting your beast spirit!" Zephyrmon said, patting him on the back and snapping him out of his thoughts.

"T-thanks," Korikakumon said quietly, still stunned by what he'd done.

"This isn't over. You guys still have a lot to answer for," the pink bird guard said, flying over towards them.

"Oh come on! We just saved your village from a guy who was ready to kill everyone over a camera!" MetalKabuterimon groaned bitterly as the guards encircled them.

"Yeah, from where we're standing it likes you guys just stole merchandise, fled the scene of the crime, caused a ruckus in our village, and killed a digimon trying to stop you," the Gazimon said with an angry pointed finger.

"It's a called a Soul Stealer!" Datamon chimed in, holding the wooden camera in his hands. "And, they did stop Petaldramon from destroying the village. That has to be worth something."

"Be that as it may, it doesn't change what happened," the pink bird digimon said. "And they need to be punished for their crime."

"If punishment is absolutely necessary, then why don't we simply banish them? That seems reasonable, doesn't it?" Datamon said matter of factly.

"Are you kidding? That'd be the same as letting them go!" Biyomon shouted.

"What's happening right now? Is he helping us?" KendoGarurumon asked quietly at just above a whisper.

"I…you're right. But these are the digidestined. Perhaps some leniency is for the best?" Datamon said quietly.

Biyomon and the other guards turned towards them, looking with a mix of awe and contempt. Korikakumon felt really uncomfortable with all those eyes staring at them - reminded all too much of his days at school. Eventually, Biyomon sighed, "Fine. As of this moment, you five are banished from this village."

"Well, I guess we got off easy," MetalKabuterimon sighed.

"Thank you. We won't bother you again," Agunimon added quickly. "Let's get out of here."

"R-right!" Korikakumon nodded in solemn agreement, quietly following Agunimon as they hurried away from the village.
