Inner Self Talking Before Fall Finding
James is standing at the landing dock close to Beacon Academy, fully clothes and deep in thoughts as he just wants to be alone for a while but wouldn't let him be alone.
"Trouble sleeping?" Glynda asked walking up next to him from behind.
"Arm was acting up." James said rubbing his right arm.
"Of course, so logically, you got out of bed, dressed yourself completely and decided to gaze menacingly out into the distance." Glynda listed the obvious things that James is showing.
"What's wrong?" Glynda asked, feeling concern for the general even though she never liked his way of thinking and methods. She can still see him as a good friend to trust.
"I've trusted him for years. We both have. I just... I can't help but feel like he's keeping us in the dark." James explained how he feels about Ozpin and his secrets.
"Don't be ridiculous! You know very well that we are not the ones in the dark." Glynda reminded him.
"That makes it worse! I refuse to believe that a man that I've trusted for so long would act so... passively." James worried.
"Not to mention there is also the fact that we have two new members are kids from another world, and they both died!" James pointed out about Jotaro and Kimi's backstories.
"It makes me wonder if fate is just keeping their lives in peace." James sighed.
"I feel you, but those two have helped their former world make it better and they're doing the same. I say this is a blessing in disguise for having them, especially Jojo." Glynda smiled.
"Jojo? Ah, you mean Jotaro Kujo. I can see with both Jos in the full name." James nodded.
"Oh, y-yes, that's what I meant." Glynda stuttered and looked away to hide her blushing face, she tries stop her heart from beating so fast from just thinking about Jotaro until she managed to calm herself down.
"You're a good person, James. You've always done what you think is best for the people, even against strong protest. It's admirable. But it's high time you stopped talking about trust and started showing it." Glynda stated before looking toward the city.
"Ozpin has experience that the rest of us lack. And I think that's something worth remembering." Glynda said as James look onward at the city as well.
(With Jotaro's Group)
Jotaro and the others are sleeping by the fire while Kimi and Ruby were still doing their lookout duty as the former is petting the sleeping Zwei, Ruby is doing her best to keep herself awake until one of her teammates would come up to take over the shift.
Yang though wasn't exactly sleeping as she opens her eyes and stare off at the ceiling before turning her head to the sleeping Jotaro, she decided to sleep next to him as she felt comfy close to him and hopefully give him a thank you in a way he could like. But there was this still a troubling thought in her head and wanted to get this out of her chest.
"Blake, are you awake?" Yang asked.
"Yeah, and I think Jotaro is awake too." Blake said.
"Just now when I heard Yang being loud." Jotaro exclaimed.
"Sorry, didn't mean to make a 'Yang' during your sleep." Yang punned.
"Anyway, I just didn't want to know… Why do you think he asked us about being a Huntress? Like, what was he trying to say?" Yang wondered about Oobleck's question.
"Maybe he was just curious." Blake guessed.
"I think it was more than being curious, he was trying to see how you see and feel what it means to be a Huntress. To carry the mental." Jotaro stated.
"That… does seem like something a teacher would ask about." Blake surprised of how insight Jotaro is.
"I tend to see the bigger picture and what's at stake to get serious." Jotaro said looking at his hand and Star Platinum's hand appeared with that hand.
"I guess that's why Oobleck never asked you that question." Blake commented.
"Weiss, are you awake?" Yang asked looking over to her white-haired teammate.
"Of course, I'm awake! You two are talking." Weiss responded complaining though her expression calms and look a little sad.
"And I think he... When I said I wanted to honor my family's name, I meant it. But it's not what you think. I'm not stupid. I'm fully aware of what my father has done with the Schnee Dust Company. Since he took control, our business has operated in a... moral gray area." Weiss said.
"That's putting it lightly." Blake commented.
"I don't know, sounded heavy than lightly." Jotaro proclaimed.
"Which is why I feel the need to make things right. If I had taken a job in Atlas, it wouldn't have changed anything. My father was not the start of our name, and I refuse to let him be the end of it." Weiss determined while clutching her fist.
"(No longer a daddy's girl. Good for you.)" Kimi thought smiled; she happens to be listening into the conversation.
Then it was Blake's turn to share her deep thoughts.
"All my life, I fought for what I thought was right. I had a partner named Adam. More of a mentor, actually. He always assured me that what we were doing would make the world a better place. But of course, his idea of a perfect future turned out to be not perfect for everyone. I joined the Academy because I knew that Huntsmen and Huntresses were regarded as the most noble warriors in the world. Always fighting for good. But I never really thought past that. When I leave the Academy, what will I - how can I undo so many years of hate?" Blake worried of her future.
"I'm sure you'd figure it out. You're not one to back down from a challenge, Blake." Yang believed.
"But I am! I do it all the time! When you learned I was a Faunus, I didn't know what to do, so I ran! When I realized my oldest partner had become a monster, I ran! Even my Semblance! I was born with the ability to leave behind a shadow of myself; an empty copy that takes the hit while I run away!" Blake cried and covered her face with her hands.
"But you're not doing that now, right?" Jotaro asked, confusing Blake.
"You've been saying that you're nothing but a runaway cat, coward with her tails between her legs." Jotaro stated, causing Blake's ears to drop a little.
"But that's not what you're doing right now, you're here wanting to do the best to face the danger to make up for the past sin you did to become a better person." Jotaro believed.
This surprises Blake to hear that coming from the edgy and strong person like Jotaro saying that he believes she can do much more good than she could realize.
"I decided to become a Huntsman because of how shit our world is becoming even when the Grimms were becoming obviously more dangerous, it pisses me off and hope to knock the sense into others." Jotaro explained his reason with mostly a lie.
"What about Kimi?" Blake asked curious.
"She wants to spread happiness with her weird dancing style or whatever, going on about wanting to make her own happy ending while helping others as well." Jotaro answered.
"(Just like Ruby.)" Yang thought smiled.
"At least you guys have something that drives you." Yang said before staring at the fire for a bit.
"I've just kinda of always, gone with the flow, y'know? And that's fine, I mean, that's who I am. But how long can I really do that for? I wanna be a Huntress, not really because I want to be a hero, but because I want the adventure. I want a life where I won't know what tomorrow will bring. And that'll be a good thing. Being a Huntress just happens to line up with that." Yang looked over to Ruby still being on the lookout.
"I'm not like Ruby, she's always wanted to be a Huntress. It's like she said, ever since she was a kid, she'd dreamt about being the heroes in the books. Helping people and saving the day, and never asking for anything else in return. Even when she couldn't fight, she knew that's what she wanted to do. That's why she trained so hard to get where she is today." Yang explained.
"Well, she's still just a kid." Weiss said.
"She's only two years younger. We're all kids." Blake pointed out that they're still young.
"Whatever, I'm still going to kick some ass." Jotaro proclaimed.
"Well, not anymore. I mean, look where we are! In the middle of a warzone and armed to the teeth!" Yang stated of the ruin city they're in.
"It's the life we chose." Blake said.
"It's a job. We all had this romanticized vision of being a Huntress in our heads! But at the end of the day, it's a job to protect the people! And whatever we want, will have to come second." Weiss believed as the others agreed.
Unknown to them, Professor Oobleck has been listing to the entire conversation and smile proud upon feeling that his students are finally seeing what it means to be Hunters.
Yang looks over to Jotaro for a moment and kiss him on the cheek before going back to sleep, this caught Jotaro off guard with his eyes widen of shock and look down at the blonde brawler.
"Looks like I may get myself a second girlfriend." Jotaro whispered before going to sleep as well.
(An Hour Later)
Yang have just started taking the next shift letting Ruby and Kimi go into the building to have their beauty sleep, but the sleep was only short-lived for fifteen minutes when Zwei suddenly wakes up and stands up that also causes Ruby to wake up.
"Huh? Zwei, it's late. Go back to bed." Ruby groaned being mostly sleepy.
But Zwei just ran off forcing Ruby to wake up and feeling worried for the dog as she calls out to him though he didn't respond to dog.
Ruby got up from her sleeping bag and ran out of the building hoping that her dog hadn't gone far from where the others are, but she sigh in relief that Zwei is very close by and doing his business at a random building that is just two blocks away.
"Zwei, this is a wasteland! You literally could have done that anywhere!" Ruby giggled as Zwei comes to her after finishing his business and bark at her.
"What was that?" A man's voice said.
This surprises Ruby causing her grab onto Zwei and hide behind some ruin, they peak over to see White Fang soldiers walking into the scene.
"What was what?" White Fang Guard 2 asked.
"I thought I heard a Beowolf or something." White Fang Guard 1 confused as he thought he heard a noise or something.
"Hmph. Let's just finish our patrol and get back to base. This place gives me the creeps." White Fang Guard 2 said not wanting to be out here for much longer.
The two White Fang soldiers left the scene as Ruby see this as an opportunity to see where they are going and thought this can also be a big lead of the bad guy's hideout.
"So, we're going or what?" Jotaro asked, appearing next to Ruby causing her to jump in shock and quickly cover her mouth to not let the sound coming out of her mouth.
"Jotaro, what are you doing out here?" Ruby asked.
"I was going to be a piss behind a rock or something, which I did then you and your dog coming out like you were in a rush or something." Jotaro answered.
"Well, Zwei was taking a leak until we heard two White Fang guys and they just went that way!" Ruby pointed the way of where the White Fang men went.
"Then let's follow them." Jotaro nodded, grabbing onto both Ruby and Zwei into his arms.
"What are you doing?" Ruby asked.
The answer came when Jotaro coated his legs with Star Platinum's leg to make him jump very and far as the Stand also covers Ruby's mouth to keep her screaming from being notice, and they caught up with the two White Fang soldiers quickly hiding behind a large piece of a broken-down building.
The two White Fang soldiers turned around getting a weird feeling that they might have heard something, but there was nothing and just went an old building with a pair of metal doors.
Ruby holds out Zwei to see the men, Jotaro could have just use Star Platinum to have it phase through the rock and see the two soldiers but decided to let Ruby have this since she and Zwei were the ones to notice this first.
"Did they go in yet? One bark means yes." Ruby asked.
They heard the metal door closing and Zwei bark once.
"That's a definite yes." Jotaro said.
"Oh! This is it! This is it!" Ruby excited.
"We better go tell the others about this." Jotaro suggested.
"Hold on, I want to tell this to Jaune." Ruby said holding out her Scroll, but she couldn't get a signal for the call to happen.
"Aw, come on!" Ruby groaned.
"Worry about lousy signal later, we have to hurry back to the others." Jotaro said a little angry and drag Ruby while Zwei follows them.
The two Hunters in training and Zwei are running down the street to lay this important information to the others, but suddenly the ground beneath them started to sink before caving in.
"Oh no!" Ruby worried as she quickly grabs Zwei to toss him out of harm's way.
"Stop this Time. Star Platinum: The World!" Jotaro activated Star Platinum's power to freeze time, and just in time too as the ground was about to make a big hole.
Jotaro grab onto Ruby who is still holding Zwei was she was about to toss him then have his Stand give him a good throw about five feet away from that one spot.
"Damn, that was sure hell as close." Jotaro sighed in relief and turns around seeing the soon-to-be hole.
"I wasn't even thinking about using the Time Freeze just then, but it looks like my instinct kicked in to make me do it. Good thing too." Jotaro said.
Jotaro looks down seeing Ruby still in her arms and set her down.
"Alright, time will flow again." Jotaro commanded and time resumes.
Ruby toss Zwei before bracing for the fall, only to find out that nothing happened to her and look to see Jotaro is fine as well and heard a loud crashing noise as she turns around seeing the hole was just made, she is very surprised that they were able to get out of there.
"Jotaro, did you…" Ruby wanted to ask the question, but was too shocked to finish.
"Saved our ass? Yeah, good thing I was able to use my Time Stop to get us out of there before it could even happen." Jotaro explained.
"Hold on, did you say time stop? No way, your Semblance can also stop time!" Ruby shocked and amazed at the same time.
"You can go fangirl about that later, we have to regroup with the others now!" Jotaro said with a dad serious expression that scared Ruby and she agrees.
(With Cinder)
Cinder is looking out the window thinking about how Roman and the White Fang at the second secret hideout is going with the preparation for the plan and hoping that Jotaro and Kimi haven't discovered it yet otherwise this whole plan could be held back or destroyed completely.
But she couldn't stop thinking about Jotaro for not only being so incredibly strong with that strange and unique Semblance of his, but also being smart and handsome at the same time.
"(I wonder what our lives could have been if our path cross, before the time I met Salem?)" Cinder thought asked herself.
Then she felt a buzz from her Scroll next to her leg and gently pick it up to see she just got a text message from Neo.
Neo: All ready for the escape plan, be with you guys shortly.
This made Cinder smile as she knew her time isn't going to end in prison, not by a long shot.
"Looks like our game will continue, Jojo." Cinder said to herself with her eyes glowing fiercely.
