Chapter 25 Pikachu's Past

Ash, Alice, and Brock are now on their way to O-hina Town, but on their way, they see some Pokemon that they are not expecting to see: Koffing and Weezing.

"I wonder what are those Pokemon doing here." Alice says in confusion. "I mean...this place isn't like the place where they will be staying..."

"Indeed, it is not usual to see the whole group of Pokemon here, but we really need to avoid them as soon as possible. Since they will make poisonous gas."

"You're right." Ash says as they are going to leave, but then they notice a Weezing as it is looking at them curiously. "Are you perhaps Ash Ketchum?"

Ash is surprised that Weezing knows about them, and Ash asks, "How do you know me?"

Weezing suddenly tackles him into a hug, and the force is so big that Ash falls down to the ground. "Ash! Are you okay?" Alice asks in worry, but then Ash says, "I am fine. But it seems like this Weezing knows about me..."

Brock says, "A Weezing knows you? The Weezing we knew from the past belongs to...wait, is this Weezing originally from James from Team Rocket?"

Ash says, "Wait, you're James' Weezing?" The Pokemon nods and Ash asks, "But what are you doing here?"

Weezing tells them how James released him so that he can help out the Koffing and Weezing that are in the wild. Ash says, "So you were just like Arbok? Speaking of which..."

Ash takes out a Pokeball and then he sends out Arbok. The two Pokemon hug each other as they are reunited, Brock asks, "Wait, you have Jessie's former Arbok?"

Ash says, "Yeah, it wants to join me because she wants to be as strong as Pikachu so that it won't be defeated by Pikachu."

Alice says, "And it seems like this Weezing will act the same?"

The Weezing, who has learned about what Arbok has been doing, goes to his other companions as he bids farewell to them, and it also wants to join Ash. Ash is surprised at first, but he agrees to capture him and now he is also a member of the team.

"So you have Jessie's Arbok, and you also have James' Weezing and Victreebel? You sure are something else." Brock says.

"I know, I have been wondering why they would help Team Rocket if they like me more?" Ash sighs as they continue forward. When they reach Route 11, they decide to go to Rock Tunnel because Ash wants to capture a Rhyhorn.

"In the Kalos Region, Rhyhorn racing is actually famous. Have you tried that before?" Alice asks.

"Well, I did try it once, and it is not that easy." Ash says. After capturing the Rhyhorn, they manage to train it to evolve into Rhydon. Brock asks, "So you're not going to evolve it into a Rhyperior?"

"I don't have a Protector with me." Ash says. "Maybe I will do it when I find the item."

After getting to Route 12, they also notice a Chansey healing a Pokemon with Soft-Boiled. Alice says, "I remember Chansey is actually rare to find."

Brock says, "Chansey's egg is used as a high-class cooking ingredient due to the nutrition it has. As a result, Chansey has been referred to as doctors' doubles because of its eggs. Due to its egg being over-harvested, Chansey is extremely rare in the wild and is said to bring good luck and happiness to those who manage to catch it. Fleeing from those seeking its egg has made this once-slow species much quicker on its feet than in the past."

Ash is already approaching the Chansey and captures it with ease, Alice asks, "You caught it that easy?"

"Yeah, I mean, I used Aura to help me out." Ash says.

And when reaching Fuchsia City, Ash also gets a call from his mother, and he receives a Tangela from her. Alice asks, "Why a Tangela?"

"Tangela usually lives in Route 21, which is south of Pallet Town." Ash says. "I kinda ask her to help me find one since we're not heading back to Pallet Town yet."

"I guess that's fair enough." Brock says.

When they are continuing walking, they see a Kangaskhan on the way, Pikachu notices the Kangaskhan as he stops his feet. Ash asks, "What's wrong? Pikachu?"

The Pokemon just rushes up to Kangaskhan, who notices Pikachu and she is also surprised. The Kangaskhan hugs the Pikachu tight as Pikachu also tries to use his tiny paws to embrace the Pokemon as well.

"What's going on here?" Ash asks in confusion. "Do you know this Kangaskhan really well?"

Pikachu knows that he has some explanation for the Kangaskhan, so he says, "I was raised by this Kangaskhan's mother when I was a Pichu, it is thanks to her and her mother that I evolved into a Pikachu."

Ash and Alice are surprised by the fact and Brock asks, "What's wrong with you two? What did Pikachu say?"

"It seems like this Kangaskhan's family raised Pikachu before becoming my starter Pokemon...now I am curious about how they met and what happened..." Ash says.

Pikachu then tells them about how he was a Pichu, when he fell off the cliff because of Koffing's smell, he dropped into Kangaskhan's pocket. Pichu was initially frightened by the large Kangaskhan mother, but he quickly took a liking to her and her child. As the Kangaskhan herd prepared to leave, the mother places Pichu in her pouch. The herd later stops by some Oran Berry trees to eat, with both the Kangaskhan baby and Pichu each getting a Berry to enjoy. Having finally found a place where he belongs, Pichu continues to live with Kangaskhan.

Some time passes, and both Pichu and the Kangaskhan baby had grown. The Kangaskhan herd sought refuge from a rainstorm in a cave, but Pichu notices his adoptive mother was having trouble carrying both of them at once now. He tried to jump out to lighten her load, but the mother Kangaskhan picked him back up. As night falls, Pichu knew it is time to move on. While the Kangaskhan was fast asleep, Pichu left his adoptive mother's pouch, took a moment to observe his family as they sleep, and tearfully ventured outside. Grateful for their kindness and company, Pichu suddenly evolved into a Pikachu. After seeing his reflection in excitement, Pikachu waved goodbye to his adoptive family and departed.

Several years later, the Kangaskhan mother was sick and it was almost going to die, the baby Kangaskhan, who had already grown into a full one, was crying about her mother's death, and Pikachu gives her a hug to comfort her, but deep down inside, Pikachu was also grieving, as he ran away with tears, it is then that Professor Oak found him, capturing him in the Pokeball eventually to become Ash's partner.

"I see...so that was why you didn't trust me when we started our journey? Because you were having a bad day when Kangaskhan's mother died because of sickness?" Ash asks with sorrow, and Pikachu just nods with tears in his eyes.

"I can't believe this happened..." Alice says as Eevee was trying to comfort Pikachu, the Kangaskhan knows what they are sad about, and she picks the two of them up and puts them in the pocket, along with the new baby, Pikachu is surprised at the revelation, and he congratulates her for having a new child. Then he asks Kangaskhan if she wants to join his trainer on a journey, and she eventually agrees.

"Are you sure about this?" Ash asks, and then Kangaskhan gives him a hug, affirming that she wants to join his team. Ash takes out a Pokeball and then captures the Kangaskhan once Pikachu and Eevee are out of her pocket.

"Who knows that Pikachu has a very emotional past..." Alice says.

"Yeah...maybe I should talk to Professor Oak about this after we finished our journey in Kanto." Ash says as they continue to move forward.

Once they are at O-Hina Town, they notice that the festival won't be happening until tomorrow, so they decide to go with Ash's final ribbon for the Grand Festival.

"Are you perhaps Ash Ketchum?" They turn around and they see a male with brown-themed casual clothes. Besides him is a Ninetales who is sparkling brightly under the sun.

"That is me, who are you?" Ash asks, and he says, "Oh, where is my manners, my name is Terry, and I am a coordinator like you as well."

"Oh, it is nice to meet you, Terry, so you are here for the contest as well?" Ash asks after introducing himself, Alice, and Brock.

"Why yes. I have been watching your performances, and they are truly astounding." Terry says.

"Okay..." Ash says, and then they hear a voice, "There you are, Terry! How dare you run off like that!"

They see a girl rushing towards them and she also has an Eevee on her shoulder. Terry says, "Oh, I am sorry, Leaf. I was just greeting one of our rivals in the Contest, Ash Ketchum."

"Wait, are you that Ash Ketchum?" Leaf says in surprise. "I am Leaf and it is nice to meet you."

After greeting, Alice asks, "So are you two a couple or not?"

The two of them blush a little and Terry says, "Well, we are just friends that travel together, what about you guys?"

"We are already dating, thank you for asking." Ash says as he holds Alice's arm, causing her to blush a little as well.

"I see, so is she also going to enter the contest as well?" Leaf asks.

"No, I am going to watch my Ash winning the fifth ribbon." Alice says.

"So we are in the same boat as well, that is nice." Terry says, "You see, both Leaf and I also have four ribbons, we are also competing to see who gets the final ribbon."

Leaf says, "Yeah, if I win, he is going to stay with me in this upcoming Princess Festival, and if he wins, then I am going to come with him on the rest of the journey."

"Oh, that's good to hear, but since I am here, I am not going to let you two win the contest that easily." Ash says.

"I like the challenge." Terry says as they all go to the registration desk. Brock says, "It sure has been a while since I see Ash having a rivalry with others."

Alice says, "But I think those two act like a couple."

In the first round, Terry is using his Ninetales to create the light show, with the Confuse Ray shining under the Sunny Day, and then it is covered by Fire Spin to make the show great. As for Leaf, she is using Eevee to create a lot of copies and then they all dance around each other and shoot out Shadow Balls. Then they use Iron Tails to knock it into the air and explode it into fireworks.

Now that it is Ash's turn, Alice says, "It sure has been a while since we saw a single battle-only contest..."

"I know what you mean, there are a lot of contests that use Double battle." Brock says as they see Ash using Pikachu to create the Electric rings. "And that one is the same one in the Terracotta Contest. Though it wasn't an official contest, I am sure that Ash has improved this move a lot."

"You're right about that." Alice says.

In the end, the three of them all advance to the second round, and after several battles, Leaf is facing Terry in the semi-finals as the winner gets to face Ash in a battle. The two of them battle very hard using Eevee and Ninetales, but Ninetales uses the Nasty Plot to make the Extrasensory stronger, and it is also the important key factor to make Leaf lose more points. In the end, Terry advances to the next round, Leaf was depressed at first, but then she congratulates him as he is now going to face Ash.

In the final round, Pikachu was having trouble with the Ninetales as the Inferno attack causes it to be burnt, but Pikachu manages to use Dig to send Ninetales into the air, and then gloriously using the Iron Tail to slam it to the ground, causing it to faint. Ash is the winner of the contest as he gets his fifth ribbon.

"I thought I could win against you, but it seems like you are on another level." Terry says.

"Why thank you, Terry." Ash says, as Leaf wraps her arms around Terry's, and says, "Since I lost against you, I think that I have to travel with you until we get to the Grand Festival together."

Terry mutters, "Am I really so bad that you don't want to travel with me?" Leaf just laughs and says, "I am kidding."

The others laugh and then both Terry and Leaf will also stay in the town since the Princess Festival, so they all are in the Pokemon Center to talk about their goals at night.

Here is a new chapter, and here are Ash's two rivals. One of them is actually the protagonist in the games since somebody requests me to use it. And the other one is an OC that I have used in my Ash's Story. I hope you like it.
