Chapter 2: Only then will I throw you away
Non/con warning: I have some serious issues being obsessed with a playboy-ish, sexy and pushy Inuyasha, and I absolutely intend to enjoy myself with this fanfiction (not to worry, I created an established plot as well). If you don't like this kind of stuff, please do not read further cuz' I will not be holding back. Hah!
Cringe factor: I am that type of author who feeds off of reviews. Sorry and thank you. :")
Beta-readers: I need you! Please do reach out!
Mood song: Ella Henderson - Ghost
'Inuyasha...!' Kagome froze when his eyes locked with hers, but only for a brief second. In any other situation, she probably would have fled the scene immediately, but those four (or five?) glasses of wine helped her dull down her emotions just enough to jerk her focus back to the wolf demon in front of her. She was busy being happy, and free, and radiant, and... and...
The rhythm suddenly made no sense to her, and the flashing lights were just as irritating as the closeness of Kouga - who miserably failed to notice the shift. Kagome tried to force herself to find the lost delight of the flow of the music, but no matter how much she wanted to ignore the sensation, her skin was crawling, knowing very well he was watching.
'The bastard must have known. That damned nose of his...!' The realization of being pretty much a sitting duck all night hit her hard in the chest. She felt violated and embarrassed as she realized he was probably watching or maybe even listening long before she noticed his presence. Kagome felt powerful anger filling her up by the moment, and she suddenly turned her back to Kouga, looking straight into Inuyasha's eyes again.
His gaze was cold as ice, regardless of the naturally warm color of his irises. Kagome could not detect the slightest sign of surprise on his face. He took a light sip from his drink, never breaking his golden eyes from her blue ones. Kagome felt her face flushing with irritation.
'Is he goingto stare at me the whole night?' Kagome's snort was lost in the noise of the party. Feeling herself getting unreasonably rebellious against whatever psycho game Inuyasha was playing, she started dancing again, and her senses were suddenly stroked by the warmth of Kouga's chest against her bare back. Sango's words echoed through her mind. 'So what? Fuck him.'
Kagome closed her eyes and allowed herself to get lost in her drunk bliss again. That's right. Fuck him. Her slim body moved with the tune's flow anew, feeling hot sparkles of joy filling her heart. She felt Kouga's hand on her hips, but this time she did not push him away. Instead, she raised a hand to touch his neck tenderly as they moved together. She loved dancing, she loved this place, and she loved this new flirt she had just begun. Inuyasha can sit in the corner and stare all night if he has nothing better to do on a night like this. Fuck him, definitely.
The song ended, and she opened her eyes again, only to stiffen immediately. Inuyasha's golden eyes had a tint of red in their corners, and a bloodcurdling smirk appeared on his previously emotionless lips. He no longer searched for her eyes. He was watching her body, looking hungrily at every inch of it. There was no way she could hear him as the new track started, but she recognized the word his lips formed before pulling back into a smirk again. "Bitch".
She had fucking enough.
"Sorry, bathroom break." she entrusted it to Kouga's demonic senses to hear her mumble as she dashed out as fast as she could. Only when the door of the luxurious bathroom shut behind her could she take a deep breath, finally feeling somewhat secure. A pleasant floral scent filled her nose, and she could feel her nerves gradually calming down as she left the party's roaring music behind too. Emptying her whole purse on the sink with a single move, she finally found her phone and tried to call Sango but to no avail. She clicked her tongue impatiently, then decided to send a text.
›› Inuyasha is here. I am not ok. Bathroom pls? ‹‹
Kagome watched the screen intensely, hoping to see the status change to "read". She barely registered the other girls coming in and going out, and they did not pay her much attention either. After a few excruciating minutes, she let out a sigh and put the cell phone beside the sink. She splashed water on her cheeks and neck, avoiding the mascara and eye line she put on so carefully. The cool sensation of the water and the oddly ambient atmosphere of the bathroom allowed her to regain her composure.
She lifted her head and looked herself in the eye in the mirror. She was a grown woman. So much has changed, including herself, and three years have passed. She felt a new hint of anger rising in her chest. Why the hell did she have to run? And how dare he look at her like that after what he did? What the fuck is wrong with him?
A single teardrop, more of frustration than sadness, started to roll down her cheek. She wiped it away furiously. 'NO. Fuck no. I am not going back there, you fucking asshole. Never again.'
As the weather got warmer, they started to hang out in the nearby park a lot. Officially it was for the sake of learning together, but Inuyasha was not the type to quietly occupy himself with a book, while Kagome actually did try her best to get excellent scores on their upcoming tests. She giggled as she pushed him away for the third time.
"I told you! I need to learn this today!" she giggled but tried her best to put on a serious face as she threw a glare at him to add momentum to her words. "You promised you would not disturb me."
"Maybe I lied." He smirked and snitched the book from her hands, holding it high above his head.
"Maybe I will go home then," Kagome said in a serious voice, but the smile on her lips betrayed her badly.
"Maybe I will not let you." with one hand still holding her book up high, he leaned in to plant a light kiss on her lips. Kagome looked into his warm, golden eyes and felt her heart filling with love. But she shook herself mentally and pinched his arm.
"Maybe I will fail then and go to some shabby country college instead of that fancy university of yours." As a reply, Inuyasha took a deep breath in her neck, sending shivers of pleasure down her spine. Inhaling her sweet scent for a moment more, he finally groaned in defeat and returned her book.
"Alright. Point taken. I will make myself a useful ice cream courier then."
"Thank you, Inuyasha." He gave her a confident, warm smile before he leaped off.
Turning away from her reflection, Kagome glanced at the luminous screen of her cell phone again. She sent her text to Sango 17 minutes ago. To make matters worse, she was also painfully aware of how awkward her extended stay in the bathroom must have seemed.
'I made Inuyasha proud of himself, and Kouga thinks I am busy hugging a toilet bowl. Two humiliations at one stroke. What a marvelous achievement; congratulations Kagome.' she let out a loud, irritated moan, causing a group of girls to send her puzzled looks.
Stepping to the door and waiting for a second more before finally deciding she was done with this ridiculous hide-and-seek, Kagome stepped outside. The din of the party immediately overfilled all her senses, and she realized how much she wanted to go back to her room to just cocoon and digest everything that hit her world below the belt.
Taking a quick look around to ensure Inuyasha was not about to surprise her, she made her way through the dance floor toward the pool and, ultimately, the dorm building. God, how she hated cutting through drunk people...
All of a sudden, she felt strong arms wrapping around her waist, and her slim figure crashed forcefully into a muscular chest. Silver strides of hair fell over her shoulders, and she immediately recognized the familiar scent of Inuyasha surrounding her.
She remembered it too well.
Kagome's eyes widened in shock as her bare back met the unnatural heat radiating from his body. Muscular arms tightened around her even more, and she could feel him pressing his hips hard against her. Kagome felt waves of panic washing over her as she struggled against his grip. His chest vibrated on her back as he let out a low growl.
"How nice of you to follow me here, bitch." his voice was merely a mocking whisper, but Kagome could hear him well. His lips brushed lightly against her neck, tracking their way down to her collarbone. She felt tears of helpless rage gathering in her eyes as her mind was rushing crazily to find a way out.
Kagome had no idea what the hell he was doing and why, but she didn't even care to search for an explanation anymore. Summoning all her human strength, she elbowed Inuyasha's ribs the hardest she could. Much to her surprise, his grip eased so much that she could jerk herself free. Whirling to face him, she met golden eyes staring at her in genuine shock, something rarely seen on his usually smug face.
"Don't touch me!" She screamed at him and slapped him with a huge snap. Her palm went instantly numb by the force of her own strike. Even though the wounded expression that appeared on his face for a mere second got her off-guard, she quickly brushed away any lurking worries she might still have had regarding his emotions. Without a word, she turned from him and rushed out of the building.
'Sango, where the hell are you?!' Kagome couldn't help but feel angry at her friend, even though she knew very well that the unsuspecting Sango was probably doing the most natural thing at a party: enjoying herself without checking her cell phone. As she was typing yet again frantically to at least let Sango know she had left, she bumped right back into the same muscular chest again.
"What the-? Get away from me." she hissed fiercely at the hanyou who stood tall in front of her, arms crossed in front of his chest.
"Still thinking you are too good for me, eh?" his voice was low and somewhat threatening.
"Taisho, I am so fucking done with your bullshit." Kagome snapped and pushed his chest angrily, completely losing her temper. He was a head taller, and he didn't even flinch, but she absolutely refused to acknowledge the way he towered over her. "It is time you finally beat into that moronic head of yours that you will never have me. Move! Fuckin! On! Live your damn life, and let me do the same! Now get the hell out of my way!"
"I'd rather not." Faster than she could register him moving, he grabbed the hair at the base of her head gently yet firmly and held her like that as he leaned close to her ear. "I am a loyal puppy, remember?" His voice was dripping with venom. "I will not stop until I heard you moaning under me. Only then will I throw you away for you to see how much I moved on already."
Kagome felt her face turning hot read. 'Wha- WHAT?!' Her mind shut down; his words were too much. She even failed to notice the sensation of his fangs brushing against her delicate skin just below her ears. All she knew was that she must get away from him and all this madness.
She struggled desperately against him, and he suddenly spread his arms with a smirk, taking a few steps back, thus making it humiliatingly clear that it was his choice to let her run. Kagome felt rage rushing through her body, and
before she could comprehend what her own body was doing, she ran to him and pushed hard into his chest. Inuyasha fell right into the pool. A second later, his head broke the surface, and he glared at Kagome with mild shock in his eyes.
"That's right, cool yourself off." she stomped away, but not fast enough to miss how a group of girls and guys cheered on Inuyasha before following him into the pool. "There is my pool party. Not really what I imagined," she muttered bitterly as she walked back to the room she shared with Sango.
The thought of Kouga only returned to her once she showered away Inuyasha's touch and pulled her duvet up to her chin. Her bed felt warm and safe. Like the young wolf demon himself. The thought made her blush cutely. 'I need to find him and apologize.' Feeling finally somehow relaxed, she smiled at the thought of him. But when she gave in to her exhaustion and finally closed her eyes, all she could see was a golden gaze...
