Bewitched
Chapter 2: The Next Day
It was a beautiful afternoon in the town known as Amity Park.
School was done for the day and teens were thrilled to be free for the day and aside from an attack by Skulker and a large iguana ghost on a rampage, very few ghosts attack happened today in this haunted town.
Anyway, a certain teenage girl had left school and was now with her boyfriend, and their friends.
It was Star Strong, who was holding hands with her beloved boyfriend, Danny.
Their friends, Sam, Tucker, Jazz and Valerie were with them. Since Valerie had a day off today, she wanted to hang out with them.
Anyway, they were all talking and trying to figure out what to do today. Good news, Colette is still "out sick",so they didn't have to worry about her right now.
"So, any ideas on what to do?..."Tucker asked, while the other's shrugged.
"Hard to say, but we should enjoy as much of these "Vlad-free" and "Colette-free" days as we can..."Danny said.
He had no idea what had happened to him after the incident in New York and Puck promising to deal with him personally. He didn't know what happened, but the fact that the Fruitloop apparently "took time off work" implies that he's still alive.
He didn't know what has happened to that bitter old cheese head, and honestly he didn't care. Still, he figured that Puck must still be keeping him busy.
"Maybe we can go see a movie?..."Jazz suggested.
"Me and Danny already saw one last night..."Star said.
"Nasty Burger?..."Danny suggested, but Tucker suddenly went pale.
"No...I might not be banned there any more, but my folks still semi-grounded me from eating there until they are sure that I've kicked my eating habits there..."He said.
"It's for your own good..."All of his friends said, knowing how bad that was.
Tucker frowned but sighed.
"Yeah, yeah. I've been told..."He muttered, before trying to change the subject.
"There's this new smoothie shop at the mall that I've been wanting to try. They also sell these really great vegetarian ones that Christopher told me about..."Sam said.
"Vegetarian?.."Tucker complained, but the others sent him a look.
"That sounds nice. I've been in the mood for smoothies to be honest..."Star said, and the others nodded.
"Same here..."Val said.
"Okay, smoothies it is..."Danny said, while the others nodded.
The group soon left for the mall, unaware of what was happening in a nearby town.
Meanwhile
In Elmerton
Misty was in her bedroom, wearing the robes of the Yang Clan.
Her room was filled with dozens of scrolls, magical artifacts and even a cauldron with some substance in it. Also, in the middle of the room, her spell book was placed on a podium while she was in the middle of something.
Misty was in front of an old looking mirror, that she had found in her family's basement and she had brought up here. She picked up a strange looking dust and placed it on her mirror and her hands and eyes glowed.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall. Show me the cutest guy I Know...the one who's the best of all!~..."She chanted.
The mirror showed an image of someone she wanted to see.
It's Danny!
She saw him, with Star and their friends. Misty smiled at the image of Danny, feeling butterflies in her tummy as soon as she saw him.
"There he is!~..."She said in a loving, longing way.
Her eyes then landed on Star and frowned, her mood doing a 180 in an instant.
"And her!..."She muttered, envy swelling inside of her.
She tried to control it and turned to her spell book. She already had a spell that she wanted to try.
"Okay...let's see if I got this right...this spell is suppose to change mine and Star's fortune...so, if I get this right, I'll be in her place and she'll be in mine..."Misty asked.
"In theory. The spell will basically just hypnotize everyone to believing that you were living her life and she was living yours. And the only one who will be aware of all of it will be the one who cast the spell...in other words, you..."The spell book said.
"However, this kind of spell can only be tried once a year since it takes a lot of power and certain elemental factors such as the placement of the moon and weather patterns need to be in place, otherwise, it just won't work..."The book explained.
Misty nodded and grinned.
"So, just one shot right...that's all I need..."She said in an overconfident voice.
"Not only will I be Danny's girlfriend, but I'll get to live in that mansion of hers and have my very own maid to do all of my chores, and rich parents to give me anything I want! I can't wait!..."She said, excited.
"Then you better get started..."The book reminded her.
Misty smirked, as she went to her cauldron, where the substance for her spell was already there.
She quickly added a few more ingredients and stirred, while chanting some words in Chinese. Once done, she pulled out a magical sand that her spell book instructed her to make and began to sprinkle it inside.
"This time it WILL work, Danny will be mine!..."She thought, as she began her spell.
Her hands and eyes, along with her spell book glowed brighter green, as she felt the magic course inside her as she began to chant.
"Amity Park...let the mystic shifting sand...bring the changes that I command...as they go about their lives all day and night...my dream is born and all will be right!..."Misty said as she pointed at the mirror, which showed an image of Danny and Star.
However, before she could fire and make her spell a reality...something happened to disturb her.
"MISTY!..."Her mother's loud voice was heard, as well as loud knocks.
This startled Misty and made her miss her target. Instead of hitting the mirror image of Star, she ended up hitting a nearby lamp and destroying it.
Misty's glow stopped and she panicked.
"Oh no!..."She shouted, dismayed that her spell not only was interrupted but she broke a lamp.
The knocking didn't stop.
"Misty, what was that noise?!..."Her mother demanded, still knocking on the door.
"Um...nothing!..."Misty lied, still panicking.
"Misty, open this door or I am getting the keys and coming in myself!..."Her mother shouted.
Misty panicked, and soon recalled that her room was still filled with her sorcery stuff.
"Uh...one second, Mom..."Misty said, as she thought quick.
She opened her closet, and soon her hands glowed and all her scrolls, cauldron and even her spell book was levitated and transported there.
"Hey, what are you-..."Her spell book didn't even get to finish as she slammed the door shut.
Once her room was free of her magic stuff, she opened the door to see her very impatient looking mother.
Misty frowned.
"What do you want, Mom?..."She asked, making her mother frown more.
"Is that anyway to speak to your mother, young lady?..."Mei asked, angry as she wagged her finger at her.
"Sorry...but seriously...I was...studying..."Misty lied, while her mother frowned.
"Now, what did you wanted to ask me?..."The young sorceress asked, hoping to deflect any suspicion.
"Have you seen your grandmother's old cooking pot? I can't find it anywhere..."Mei asked, hands on her hips.
Misty realized that she was referring to the "cauldron" that she was using and panicked.
"Nope, haven't seen it..."Misty lied.
"That's strange. I was sure that it was in the basement, along with all those old antiques my grandmother had brought over when she moved here from overseas..."Mei said, confused.
"Maybe Laolao sold it at the flea market and just forgot..."Misty suggested, hoping to avoid getting caught.
"Don't be silly, Misty. Your Laolao may be getting on in years but her mind is almost as sharp as mine..."Mei said, in her usual way.
Misty resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
"So...if that's all...I gotta get back to my reading..."Misty said, while her mother frowned.
"Young lady, while I am happy that you are taking your school work seriously, this little attitude of yours is not something I can tolerate. You may be a teenager, Misty but as long as you live under my roof-.."Mei said, as she began one of her lectures.
On the inside, Misty was panicking.
She had to go check on her spell, but her mother's nagging and lectures can last for about an hour if she wasn't careful.
So, she nodded and muttered some quick "I'm sorry" and "yes, mom" here and there before her mother was satisfied.
Once she left, Misty ran to her closet and opened it. All her stuff crashed out and she tried to look for her spell book.
"Where are you? Spell book?..."Misty asked, as she looked over her junk.
"Under here..."An irritated voice was heard.
Misty saw that her book was pinned under that cauldron and sighed.
"Sorry about that..."She said, as she picked it up and wiped off the goop that she used from the spell.
"It happens..."The spell book said, before Misty recalled something.
"Oh man... the spell!..."Misty said as she ran to the mirror and caste another spell to see what was going on.
She ran to the mirror and stared at it intensely, with nearly bloodshot eyes as she went to see if the changes were made.
No such luck.
Star and Danny were still holding hands and looking just as much in love as ever. She couldn't believe it.
"Oh come on!..."Misty shouted, angry.
"How unfortunate..."The spell book said, while his trainee was livid.
"Oh rats, rats, rats, rats, rats! I was so close! UGH!..."She shouted, as she began to throw her tantrum.
Once done, she pouted and crossed her arms, almost like a child not being able to get the toy that she wanted.
"Yes, I do believe that could have gone better..."Her spell book said.
"Mom! Even when she doesn't realize it, she's ruining my life! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! UGH!..."Misty complained, angry as she used her powers to restore the lamp and then break it again in a fit of anger.
Her spell book, however, tried to cheer her up.
"Now, now sorceress. She just doesn't understand that you are simply reaching your full potential and honor your clan's traditions. Why don't you tell her about your wonderful gift or even that grandmother of yours? They are members of the clan too, after all?..."The book asked, but his trainee glared at him.
"Are you crazy?! My mom is the biggest control freak of all time! If she finds out that I have been dealing with magic, she'll either make me give it up or she'll treat my magic the same way she treats my school work!..."Misty said.
"What's wrong with the last part?..."The spell book asked, confused.
"My mom is a complete lunatic who won't be happy until all of her kids get straight A's and go to an elite school, even at the expense of a happy, carefree childhood and social life!..."The young sorceress said bitterly, before she tried to make things crystal clear to her magical spell booK..
"I know that she'll either burn you or she'll totally micromanage my magic training and I'm not gonna let her ruin the one thing that's all mine and I have total control over!..."Misty argued.
"Yes...well...even if I can rebuild myself, I rather not experience being burned..."Her spell book said, stating the obvious.
"Well, thanks to mom. I now have to wait a year before I can try that spell again because of whatever stupid reason with the cosmos you mentioned!..."Misty complained, crossing her arm in frustration.
"Even magic has it's limits, my child. You just need to be patient and flexible..."The spell book said, before continuing.
"Since this didn't work, I suppose that we will need to try something smarter..."He said.
Misty smirked.
"I'm listening..."She said, interested as she listened to her spell book.
"Since I know that you'd rather not wait another year before trying this spell again, then perhaps we should take a more...active approach... in order to win over your future husband..."Her spell book said in a hinting kind of way.
Misty smirked, and soon went back to plotting.
"Now you are speaking my language. Besides, it's been a while since I've seen Danny face to face. I miss him..."Misty admitted.
"I know you do, but you just need to be a little more patience and listen to me...then you will be given all that was promised to you..."The spell book said, and Misty's smile grew as her eyes flashed green once more.
"I know. I can't wait to finally win him away from that blonde princess...and after we succeed, I'll be one step closer to becoming Misty Fenton and having my sweet little Vincent!..."Misty said in a love sick and daydreaming kind of way.
"Vincent?..."The spell book asked.
"You like? It's the name I chose for my future little boy. I also like David or maybe something that starts with an M...Like Mason or Mathew...to fit in better with my side of the family. Though, I also kinda like Frankie too to be honest. It all depends on which one Danny likes best..."Misty said, looking excited.
Her spell book, on the other hand, had his own ideas.
"Why not a nice, traditional Chinese name...like Wufong?..."He asked.
"Wufong?..."Misty asked with a raised brow.
"It is the name of one of your earlier ancestors, one who I was rather close to. It means "Power" in Chinese. I think that it's a very handsome sounding name for a boy..."The spell book said.
Misty wasn't so sure, but she didn't want to hurt his feelings.
"I'll...ask Danny about it and see what he thinks..."Misty said, not sure what else to say.
"Very well. Now come along, Misty. Best go back to your training and then we can work on finding a way to nab your fated partner..."The boo said.
"No need to tell me twice..."Misty said as she went back to working on her magic.
Unaware that things were only about to get wilder from here on out, and not just with her magic training.
Oh boy.
