Chapter 7: A Sorceress in the Ghost Zone
"My child...how familiar are you with...natural portals?..."The book asked, getting his protege's attention.
"Natural portals?..."Misty asked out loud, as her spell book began to explain everything to her about the next step in their plan.
"They are portals to the Ghost Zone..."The book explained.
"The Ghost Zone? You mean that place where Danny Phantom and all those other ghosts come from?!..."Misty asked, shocked.
The book "nodded".
"Yes, exactly what I mean..."He said.
"Why the heck do we have to go there?..."Misty asked, looking nervous.
"There are numerous natural portals between the Ghost Zone and Earth that lead to various locations and even time periods..."The book explained.
"Wait? Really?..."Misty asked, intrigued.
"Yes. You enter into the ghost zone and take a natural portal to return to the human world, but you don't always come back to the place or time you originally came from. Example, you can end up in the Bermuda Triangle during the 60's, Salem Massachusetts during the witch trials and even into space if you are not careful..."The book explained.
"Then how the heck is that going to work?! I wanna win Danny's heart, but I don't wanna accidentally end up in the time of the dinosaurs and risk getting eaten by a T-Rex to do it!..."Misty argued.
"There are ways to find natural portals and even to control where and when you go..."The book explained.
"Really? How?..."Misty asked, excited now.
"Technically, the best method would be the Infi-map..."The book said.
"The infi-map?..."Misty asked.
"It's a powerful artifact and legend states that it can send you to anywhere you want to go. Any place and even any time period..."He explained.
"Really? That sounds awesome..."Misty said, excited.
"Unfortunately...even I have no idea where it is. Previous members of the Yang clan had tried finding it, but none have succeeded. So, we need to find another way to do so..."He explained.
"Why even bring it up if you don't even know where it is?..."Misty asked, annoyed.
"Thought you should know. Several of your ancestors tried and failed at finding the Infi-map. So I know just how treacherously difficult traveling through the Ghost Zone can be even for a someone who skillfully practices the magical and mystic arts..."The book said with a shrug.
"Whatever, that doesn't help me now. So, how else are we suppose to find these portals if we don't have that stupid map?..."Misty asked, sounding impatient.
"Lucky for you, I am capable of sensing nearby portals and I know a spell that can help you manipulate the portal to send you to a specific place and time..."He explained.
"Really?..."Misty asked, hopeful again.
"Yes, but I can't predict where and when they will appear. Not without a proper spell or artifact that is designed to do so..."The book explained.
Misty frowned.
"Terrific. I thought magic was suppose to make my life easier..."She muttered, crossing her arms.
"Even magic has its limits, my dear. It would be much easier to sense those portals if we were in the ghost zone...now all we need to do is find a portal to get in..."He said.
Misty frowned, but then got an idea.
"Wait, I think I know where we can find a ghost portal..."Misty said.
"Really? How?..."The book asked.
"Danny's house. His parents are ghost hunters and I heard rumors that they have a lot of weird ghost related stuff in their lab and I once overheard Danny talking to his friends about a ghost portal. They must have their own..."Misty said, recalling the previous times when she admired her beloved from afar.
Her spell book heard this and even seemed to be intrigued upon hearing that.
"So, man has managed to create portals without the use of magic? I suppose non-magic users have come a long way, since the old days..."The book said, while Misty was too busy being a little excited about having an excuse to go to her crush's house.
"So...all we have to do is go to Danny's house, find that portal and then I am one step closer to becoming Mrs. Danny Fenton..."Misty said, excited.
The spell book did it's own version of a smirk and nodded.
"Yes, looks like we will be paying your sweetheart a visit sooner than expected..."The book said, as he and Misty prepared to go to their next destination.
Later
At Fenton Works
Danny and Star were at his house right now.
After spending time at the park, the couple decided to relax at his house. Danny's parents were currently working on experiments in the basement and Jazz was reading in her bedroom.
That gave the young lovebirds some time to themselves.
"So, what should we watch? I'm open to anything..."Danny said, as he turned on the TV and set up the streaming service.
"How about the new live action Crash Nebula movie? I know from seeing all those comic books in your room that you love that series..."Star said.
Danny smiled.
"You know me so well..."He said with a chuckle.
"Well, I wouldn't be a good girlfriend if I didn't know what my Boo likes..."Star said, giggling.
"Well, you are without a doubt, an awesome girlfriend..."Danny said, smiling at her.
"Oh really? How awesome am I?..."Star asked, leaning closer.
"The most awesome girlfriend in the world..."Danny said, leaning closer.
"Oh Boo..."Star said lovingly, fluttering her eyes at him.
"Oh Starlight..."Danny said, looking lovesick at her.
The two leaned forward to each other. However, before they could lock lips, they heard a loud knock on the door, follow by the doorbell.
Danny and Star pulled away, and frowned.
"Lousy timing..."Danny muttered, as he went to answer the door.
He opened it, but didn't see anyone around.
"Huh?..."He said, as he looked around, but still didn't see anyone close by.
"Who is it, Boo?..."Star called from the living room, while Danny seemed confused.
"No idea, I think someone just did that ding dong ditch thing..."Danny said, as he closed the door.
"Well, come back to the living room. The movie is about to start..."Star called.
Danny went to join her, unaware that someone had just entered his home.
Someone whom he couldn't see because they are invisible...but who is NOT a ghost.
With Misty
The young sorceress was now inside her beloved's home. However, she couldn't be seen thanks to one of her clan's artifacts.
"Wow...it worked. He couldn't see me at all. I never knew wearing the yang clan robe can grant invisibility..."Misty said.
"It only allows it when you cast a spell while wearing now...but it's temporary. We only have 15 minutes to find that portal and get into the ghost zone..."The book said.
"I know...I know..."The invisible Misty said as she looked around.
Despite being on a mission, a part of her was giddy to finally be at Danny's house.
"I was hoping that the first time I was here would be under more preferable circumstances, but at the very least I'll have something to look forward to when we finally start dating..."She thought.
However, she passed by the living room and saw something that made her want to break something else.
She saw Danny and Star watching a movie together and sitting VERY close to each other on his couch. The sight made the dark haired invisible sorceress furious.
"Seriously? SHE'S here?! What? She can't be away from Danny for MORE than 5 minutes? What? It's like she's obsessed with him?..."Misty said, envy and jealousy rising within her.
"Misty, focus!..."The spell book urged.
Misty knew that she needed to find the portal, but she could see Danny and Star laughing at something they saw on the screen and she couldn't help, but noticed that they were a little TOO close to each other.
"Oh man, that's so fun. It's no wonder you love making puns all the time. This franchise is filled with them. Crash Nebula even names his space suit's AI "Gal-Axie" for crying out loud .."Star laughed, pointing at something on the television screen.
"I know! Although, I still prefer the classic animated Tv series they aired when I was a kid. Mainly due to nostalgic reasons. Since I grow up watching Crash Nebula and his original gang, I always liked them. Especially Princess Emma Aster, she kind of reminds me of you in a space princess turned space ranger way, but she still doesn't hold a candle to you. After all, you're real..."Danny said, his arm wrapped around her.
"Aw, Danny-Boo!~..."Star said lovingly, enjoying this.
Misty saw this and felt more envy and longing.
"That should be me!..."She muttered, hating this.
Star and Danny paused and seemed confused.
"You say something, Starlight?..."Danny asked.
"No, I didn't say anything..."Star said, while the invisible Misty covered her mouth in shock.
"Huh? Thought I heard something..."Danny said, shrugging.
"Don't be so careless. The robe makes you invisible, not inaudible!..."The book whispered harshly into Misty's ears.
"Darn it. I can't make a sound, but I can't stand looking at this..."She thought, hoping not to get caught.
"Get a hold of yourself, Misty. You just gotta find that portal and then all will be right..."She thought, as she kept looking around.
However, she noticed how cozy Danny and Star were getting and how they were about to kiss.
"Not on my watch!..."She grumbled quietly in anger as she couldn't stop herself.
The dark haired sorceress couldn't control herself, as she whispered a quick spell by uttering the word "Wùdǎo". As a result, both Star and Danny to miss their kiss and accidentally poke each other's eyes with their noses.
"Ow!..."Star yelped.
"Sorry, I have no idea how that happened. That's never happened before..."Danny said apologetically.
"I'm fine. No damage..."Star said, rubbing her eye a bit.
After recovering, they tried to kiss again but Misty wouldn't have any of it.
"Oh, heck no!..."Misty whispered as she whispered a quick chant.
Just then, a glowing ham that was in the Fenton fridge suddenly burst out and into the living room, splattering into the wall and interrupting the couple, making them pull away from each other, and some of it even splattered on Star's shirt.
"WHAT THE HECK?!..."Danny yelled at the sight of the mess on the wall.
"My shirt!..."Star bemoaned at the stain on it.
Danny and Star were in shock by what happened, while Misty smirked.
"Serves you right, Princess!..."Misty thought, pleased with herself. "Also, super sorry Danny. I promise to make it up to you later on..."She thought, as her crush fussed over Star.
"Are you okay, Star?..."Danny asked in concern.
"I'm fine, just a stain..."Star said as she took a napkin to wipe it off.
"Still, how the heck did that happen?..."She asked, as she wondered just how this was possible.
"I don't know. I thought for sure that Mom and Dad stopped contaminating the food with ectoplasm after Jazz gave them that 3 hour lecture on ecto-contamination. That and Mom stopped storing their lab samples in the fridge..."Danny said, as he tried to clean up the mess, unaware of what really happened.
All the while, Misty kept looking around.
"If I recall the rumors and the information that I gathered. Danny's parents have their own lab where they make all sorts of ghostly doo-dads. Now where is it?..."Misty asked, as she looked around.
She saw the door to the basement and her book got her attention.
"I sense a portal nearby..."Her book whispered.
"Really?..."Misty asked.
"Yes...down there..."The book said, as he gestured to the door.
The invisible Misty opened the door, went down the stairs and soon arrived to the Fenton Works laboratory.
"Jackpot!..."Misty whispered, looking thrilled to be here.
Jack and Maddie, unaware of the invisible company, were still working on their gadgets.
"How's it coming along, Jack?..."Maddie asked, as her husband kept fiddling with their newest device.
"Still working on the Fenton Freezer, Sweet cakes. Once done, this baby will be able to freeze a ghost like no one's business. Including that cocky Phantom..."Jack said, as he as he quickly made finishing touches.
However, he carelessly patting the device a little too hard due to not paying attention to how delicate it still is in it's current stage, two wires accidentally crossing in a way that they shouldn't, which resulted the device blowing up and catching on fire.
"I'm okay..."A singed Jack said, in a daze while Maddie grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher to put out the flames.
Once done, she went to check on her husband's physical well-being...again.
Misty and her spell book saw this and were stunned to say the least.
"I heard that Danny's parents were a little weird and worked as ghost hunters...but...wow...just wow..."Misty thought, as she wasn't sure how to view whom she believed would one day be her parents-in-law.
"Misty...look ahead..."The book whispered.
Misty looked up ahead and soon saw the portal at the end of the lab.
"Wow...cool..."She whispered.
Jack heard that word and assumed that Maddie said it.
"Yes, the Fenton Freezer is pretty cool, Sweetheart. Once we work out the kinks, that is..."Jack said, while Maddie wondered what he was talking about.
Misty ignored them as she snuck passed all the gadgets and gizmos before she arrived to the portal, which coincidentally was left open. Not thinking about it, she jumped in head first, carrying her spell book with her.
All the while, Danny's parents were completely unaware of the invisible non-ghostly intruder who had designs on their very own son.
In the Ghost Zone
Misty was now in the ghost zone, and not a moment too soon as her invisibility spell finally wore off.
She was too excited to notice or care, due to finally being in the ghost zone and being a step closer in their plan.
"I can't believe this. We're finally here..."Misty said in excitement as she looked around.
She saw black and green skies, floating doors and floating islands, as well as bunch of ghosts and spirits of so many different shapes and sizes that she really felt like she just stepped into a whole new world...which she literally was.
"Wow...creepy and yet...I feel like I belong here. It's hard to explain..."Misty said, as she floated around, while her book recalled what happened with Danny's parents earlier.
"I see that those parents of your future husband didn't fail in making this device at least. Thank goodness, I won't deny that I had major doubts of non-magic user succeeding in something that even some sorceress have difficulty in achieving. I guess even fools like them have some uses..."The spell book commented, having not been impressed with what they previously saw.
Misty frowned.
"Hey, be nice. They might be weird, but they are Danny's parents. After Danny and I get together, I want to get them to like me. They are gonna be my in-laws after all..."Misty said.
"Right...right..."The book said.
"So, what do we do now?..."Misty asked.
"We search, until we find a natural portal. I will be able to sense it..."The book explained.
"Alright. Better start looking then..."Misty said, as she held her book.
Using her magic, she flew around the ghost zone, avoiding the ghosts and other creepy stuff as she and her spell book tried to find what they were looking for.
However, it wasn't as fast as Misty expected as they were searching on instinct alone.
30 minutes later
"How much longer?..."Misty asked, impatiently.
"When I sense one, I will tell you. Don't worry about that, just be on alert and stay on guard because you never know what we might encounter in this strange dimension..."The book said, as they kept floating around the Ghost Zone.
"We gotta hurry. I managed to make another illusion of me in my room before we left, but this place is really starting to creep me out and it just goes on and on forever. Remember, my curfew is at 10..."Misty said, not wanting to get caught.
"We will be fine. Just be patient and keep looking..."The book said.
Misty nodded, as she kept searching around.
However, several ghosts noticed her and could sense the magic radiating from her.
"Oh my, is that a magic user?..."One ghost said, surprised to see Misty with her spell book.
"It's been a while since one of then ventured through this part of the Ghost Zone. How intriguing..."Another ghost said, curious as to what might have brought this magic user here.
"Uh-oh. I think that we just got spotted by some ghosts and I have no idea if any of them are as friendly as Danny Phantom..."Misty said, not liking this.
However, one ghost decided to approach her and opened his arms, like he was offering a hug or something, but appearing a bit too desperate with his approach.
"WILL YOU BE MY FRIEND?!..."A ghost in pajamas said as he appeared before her with an eager look.
Misty was shocked and screamed at the unexpected ghost who was now two inches away from her face.
"Whoa! Personal space much!..."Misty yelled, as she floated back.
"I just want a friend!..."The clueless ghost said in a dopey way, and the sorceress soon recognized him.
She groaned.
"Oh no, not you again! You're that weird ghost who froze my mom's library when she told you to leave..."Misty said.
"But she wouldn't be my friend!..."Klemper whined and Misty frowned.
"Get lost, I got a boyfriend to free and a happy future resulting in marriage to plan for..."Misty said, already not liking this creep for invading her personal space.
"You're getting married? Can I go to the wedding as a friend?..."Klemper asked, excited.
"No way, I don't even know you! Why the heck would I invite some strange ghost who is currently in pajamas and is cover in what I hope is frozen sweat?..."Misty said harshly, clearly not liking this weird ghost.
Klemper's mouth quivered in sadness over her rejection, and he began to throw a tantrum right now.
"WHY WON'T YOU BE MY FRIEND?!..."Klemper yelled, as he tried to use his ice breath to freeze her.
"Whoa!..."Misty yelled.
"Use a spell!..."The book shouted.
"Huǒ!..."Misty shouted as her eyes and hands glowed green.
She ended up firing a big fireball, which hit Klemper head on.
"AHHH! Nobody wants to be my friend!..."Klemper yelled as he was sent flying back, coincidentally to a door that was already opened.
It closed once he was inside, much to Misty's relief.
"Man, that was close. I was this close to becoming a Misty-cicle..."Misty muttered, glad that creepy ghost is gone now.
"I'll say. Being destroyed by Phantom's blast was horrible enough, but I do not want to experience being frozen solid either..."The book said. "We should go, before you attract anymore unwanted attention?..."He recommended.
Misty nodded. However, someone already spotted them and decided to approach them.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here? A little witch?..."Was heard.
Misty turned around and saw a pale-blue skinned girl with firey blue hair, dressed in a black rocker's outfit. The young sorceress was shocked once she recognized who this is.
"Ember Mclain the singer?!..."Misty exclaimed, amazed to see a once favorite musician...before pausing.
"Wait, you're a ghost?..."She asked out loud.
Ember rolled her eyes.
"No, I just visit this place because I LOVE the scenery..."Ember said sarcastically.
"Okay, I see sarcasm is thing even here in the ghost zone..."Misty muttered, her shock wearing off.
"However, I'll admit that I'm curious...and bored and wanting to kill some time. Since how did some witch find her way here?..."Ember asked, looking mildly curious as she said this.
Misty glared at her, looking offended.
"I'm NOT a witch! I'm a sorceress!..."She insisted.
"Same thing..."Ember said, not caring.
"No it's not. I'm a sorceress and the heir of the Yang clan! My ancestors were huge in the magic community!..."Misty said, feeling insulted.
"Big deal. That was then, this is now. And from what I'm looking at, you're not much to talk about!..."Ember said, pushing her buttons again.
Misty growled at that, and looked ready to fight but her spell book tried to stop her.
"Misty, you don't have time to pick fights with ghosts. We have errands to run..."Her spell book insisted.
Ember saw this and raise a brow.
"A talking spell book? Why am I not surprise a witch would have one of those?..."She asked.
"SORCERESS!..."Misty yelled, making it clear that the ghostly diva was getting on her nerves.
"Whatever. I bet you even have a cat as your familiar too? Or are you looking for a Ghost Cat to make yourself look cool, little miss witch?..."Ember scoffed, mocking her.
Misty glared at the firey haired ghost who has been rubbing her the wrong way. She didn't like her and she certainly didn't like her disrespectful attitude towards her either.
"Look, I didn't come here to pick a fight. I have to find a stupid natural portal to get to China and find an orchid. Unless you can tell us where to find a shortcut that'll lead us to it, this conversation is done!..."Misty said, sounding ticked.
"Sassy little witch, huh. Not like I care, like I said earlier, I'm just here to kill time. But if you're gonna be a killjoy about it, then you can get lost..."Ember said, as she looked at her nails with disinterest.
This really annoyed Misty, who fumed and started hurling insults at the ghost girl.
"I don't have to stand here and take this from the likes of you, Campfire fair!..."Misty yelled at her.
"Ooh, is that your best comeback? I'm shocked, I thought witches had more firepower than that..."Ember said, being sarcastic again.
"I'M NOT A WITCH! NOW GO AWAY! YOU POP DIVA HAS-BEEN!..."Misty shouted, getting worked up as her eyes and hands glowed green.
"Misty, focus! The orchid! We need it for the potion!..."Her spell book reminded her, snapping her out of fighting mode.
The dark haired sorceress recalled what they came here to do and that she didn't have time to waste fighting a one-hit wonder ghost girl who got on her nerves.
"Wait, what am I doing? Why am I wasting time on you? I have to save Danny from that stupid blonde cheer-leading princess and not bother with ghosts who have nothing better to do than bug me!..."Misty said, as she used a spell to teleport away from her.
Ember blinked at the sudden departure, but heard the last thing the sorceress said before vanishing.
"Wait? Was she talking about the dipstick and his blonde plaything?..."Ember asked out loud, as she tried to digest the situation.
She recalled what Misty said about a orchid for some sort of potion, and there is only one Danny she knows who has a blonde cheerleader on his arm. She quickly figured out what this is about.
The ghostly diva frowned.
"So the dipstick has another groupie after him. And this one is an actual witch. Looks like Blondie is in trouble and I might need to step up my game. No way that I'm letting some wanna-be witch take him and leave me in the dust..."Ember muttered as she frowned, not liking having anymore competition.
However, Klemper managed to open the door and get out of the realm. He noticed Ember and smiled.
"Ember! Ember! Now will you be my friend?..."Klemper asked with excitement.
"STOP SAYING MY NAME!..."Ember yelled, as she wanted him to go away, but the annoying ghost continued to try and talk to her.
With Misty
Misty and her spell book managed to get away from the ghostly diva.
The dark haired sorceress frowned.
"What a pain! I can't believe that I used to spend my allowance on her music! What a waste!..."She muttered.
"Focus! We are on a mission here to ensure your future and the future of the Yang clan!..."Her spell book said, sounding impatient.
"Right..."Misty said, knowing that her future with Danny is at stake here.
Her spell book was about to say something else, before he sensed something.
"Misty..."The book said, as it started glowing a faint green aura right now.
"What is it?..."Misty asked, wondering what is going on.
"I sense a natural portal..."He said, getting her attention.
"Really? Where?..."Misty asked, excited.
"20 yards North of here. I sense that one is going to form..."He said.
Misty went in that direction and as soon as she arrived, she saw a natural portal form right before her.
"Wow. Cool..."Misty whispered as was now two feet away from the natural portal.
Her spell book then spoke up again.
"Looks like Lady Luck is on our side, Misty. With the right spell and correct chanting, we can make this natural portal take you anywhere and anytime on Earth..."The spell book said, encouraging her to continue.
Misty didn't even hesitate as she took her spell book and pulled out the spell that she had to cast now.
"Chuánsòng mén, sòng wǒ qù wǒ zǔxiān de gùxiāng. Sòng wǒ qù zhōngguó!..."Misty recited as she cast the spell and soon the portal began to change.
It now showed her images of China and the dark haired girl smiled.
"Bingo!..."Misty said, as she didn't even hesitate to enter the portal with her spell book.
She was determined to find the orchid and complete the potion that would ensure her destiny.
"That's one more step taken in the right direction/ I'm almost there...just wait for me, Danny..."Misty said as her eyes flashed greener and greener.
She had no idea what the flash meant. All she knew that soon, she'll be one step closer to her happily ever after with her one true love...or so she thought.

RonaldM40196867:
1) I'll think about it.
2) Yeah, they see her as an even bigger hypocrite than before.
3) No one has mentioned it yet, since they don't think it matters at this point.
4) No, since she only saw him as a friend when they were kids and Aiguo is her true love.
5) Right.
6) Probably.
7) No, not yet.
8) I'll consider it. Thanks for the suggestion.
9) It's more like they would be hypnotized into thinking that Misty is their daughter.
10) Yeah, that's one of the reasons. The other is that he thinks that he's entitled to anything he wants due to his overinflated view of himself.
11) Yes, the book is very old.
12) I guess.
JDF Legacier Morphicon: Thank you :)
Here are my responses to your questions:
1) I liked when she and her allies were freed from Freakshow's control.
2) She would be furious, to say the least.
3) Maybe Pandora and Clockwork.
4) I'd say it's tied between Katie and Felicia, but for different reasons.
5) It would be different to say the least. Ember and Jazz would probably clash due to different temperaments and interests though.
:) I hope you enjoyed this! Remember to read and review :)
