And here we go! I am back with a new chapter and this one is a treat! It's twice as big as the usual chapter and it's got all the nice stuff to it! Now I know some of you aren't enjoying the fact that there is a lack of action in the story, for Naruto's bit, but, what did you expect? This is a more laid back, chill, and a wholesome story. If your expecting Naruto to be throwing mountain shattering attacks, you come have to the wrong story lol.
There isn't a thing, other then maybe the supernatural elements, that can threaten Naruto in this world. By human standards Naruto is a fucking god that defies all logic.
Now, about Crow Girl. Since we do not fully understand what she is, given that the manga hasn't advanced that far to revel that, I opted to take the liberty of creating as a sort of a supernatural entity that basically observes the world and influences, albeit in not a major way, but enough to nudge people in the direction she wants them to go.
While she wouldn't take direct against Naruto, considering the fact that Naruto defies things like fate and divinity, she does find the whole situation amusing. We'll be seeing more of her as sort of a, how should I put it, a companion to Naruto who appears every now and then to try and push his buttons.
That's all I got for now. Anyways, enjoy.
Minato sighed as he looked down at one of the many scrolls laid out before him. He ran one of his hands through his hair, slightly frustrated with his progress. When his father had given him the two scrolls that belonged to his grandfather, the man he was named after, Minato was excited. He was eager to get down to work, to decipher every single bit of work his grandfather had left behind.
"Ojii-sama was really a genius." Minato muttered as he looked around his room. His room was typically the image of perfection in terms of organization and order. Everything had a place where it belonged and was kept in an orderly fashion. Some might say he had a case of OCD, and they might be right. However, if that were the case, then his room right now would be giving him a headache, because it was quite literally the image of a mess.
"I should clean this up." He said to himself as he looked around his room. All around him were scrolls of various sizes and lengths lying around, some opened, some unopened. When he had initially received the two scrolls, he assumed that those would be it. But much to his surprise, the scrolls themselves contained various amounts of other scrolls. After his father had removed the seal that restricted his access to his Chakra and started to teach him the basics of Chakra control, and seals, he immediately went to work at learning the secrets of the ancient arts.
"Oto-sama said that the Uzumaki Clan was renowned and feared for their skills with the Sealing Jutsu, both on and off the battlefield…" He let out as he studied a set of seals before him. Minato knew that he was naturally gifted with great intellect, that is all the adults at school and at events talked about and at times, he would have felt the pressure to live up to those expectations, had it not been for his parents.
He was grateful for having such parents. They never pushed him or placed high expectations on him. They had always encouraged him to find his own passion and dreams to follow. And dare he say that he might just be looking at one of those things. Learning seals was…rather easy for him. It was difficult for him to explain, but they just clicked in his mind, like puzzles that needed solving. When he described it to his father, he shrugged his shoulders.
Flashback:
"Oto-sama, how come you aren't good with seals?" Minato questioned his father, who looked up from his work and hummed.
"Well, I never really had anyone teach me Sealing Jutsu as a kid, and I was always more of a kinetic learner, preferring Jutsu's and combat over seals." Naruto explained. His childhood was…less than stellar, but that was just how things were.
"But I thought Uzumaki's were masters of Sealing Jutsu." Minato questioned again with a tilt of his head, causing Naruto to chuckle.
"Yes, we are. The Uzumaki Clan was old, older than even the villages. It took them years upon years to perfect Sealing Jutsu and even then, learning Sealing Jutsu took time, studying, and patience. I wasn't good at studying, and I'm kind of a hothead like your grandmother was." Naruto tried to explain. His formal education was garbage, in his own words. He only knew one thing, and that was to fight. Well, he did know another thing.
"And that's editing the pervert's novels." He thought as his eye twitched slightly. Jiraiya had taught him many things, editing his novels while the old pervert was off peeping were one of them sadly. He shook his head and noticed the confused look on his son before he sighed.
"Minato, how would you describe Hime?" Naruto asked him, questioning his youngest on his sister. Minato hummed as he thought about that.
"Well, she's brash, headstrong, always eager to spar, not particularly bright…" Minato went on and on, describing his sister while Naruto grew a sweatdrop as Minato went down the list.
"And she's super strong." Minato finished. Naruto dumbly nodded at him, seems like nothing was missed by Minato.
"Exactly. Hime prefers to talk with her fists; she is a kinetic learner, just like me. And while she isn't the smartest child, she is far smarter than I ever was. There is a reason why Hime doesn't want to learn seals because it's difficult for her to understand them. For you, they come naturally because you are extraordinarily gifted. You are gifted with a great mind, while your sister inherited a strong body." Naruto pointed out before he blinked and hummed to himself. Now that he thought about it, it was almost like it was with him and Sasuke. The two had inherited different aspects of the Sage.
"Let's hope that didn't pass on to them." Naruto thought to himself. He didn't want to bring the strife that had plagued the Sage and his sons over to his own children.
"Thank you, Oto-Sama." Minato thanked his father. He felt pride that his father thought so highly of the gifts he and his sister had. Naruto smiled before he ruffled his hair.
"I know that if anyone can do it, it's you Minato." Naruto encouraged him as Minato nodded. He'd make his family proud.
Flashback ended:
That is why Minato had spent almost all of his free time devoted to studying his grandfather's work. There were all kinds of seals located within the two master scrolls he had dubbed them. From simply mundane seals such as a drying seal to some of the most powerful and destructive seals, from what he could tell anyways, were located in here.
"And then there is this." Minato looked at one seal, well, a collection of Space-Time Ninjutsu that consisted of the famous Flying Thunder God, Hiraishin no Jutsu. This is what he had been focused on for the past couple of days, even since he had acquired the scrolls. He wanted to learn, no, master it. While he knew that it was originally derived to be used on the battlefield, he could see the practical usage in his everyday life. The thought of instant teleportation, as long as you had marked your destination, was something every kid, hell, every person throughout history only dreamed of.
"Theoretically, teleportation is possible, but the amount of time and energy required to teleport anything larger than small particles is enormous." Minato said to himself as he made some notes while studying the formulas. The laws of quantum physics would forever prevent instant teleportation, but Space-Time Ninjutsu was not constrained by such laws. In fact, for all reasons, Space-Time Ninjutsu went against all known laws. It was literally magic, and its only limitation was the user's imagination.
"Minato! I want a spar!" Minato sighed as Sapphire barged into his room.
"I see that you still don't knock." Minato said flatly while Sapphire just chuckled.
"Why should I? We used to take baths all the time!" Sapphire exclaimed with a teasing look as Minato grew red.
"That was when we were little!" Minato whined a blush of embarrassment on his face. Must she be such a tease?! Sapphire giggled as she walked up to him and grabbed him by the arm.
"Come on! Let's go spar!" She said happily as she practically dragged him out of his room. Minato sighed as he allowed her to drag him. He knew that she was far too strong for him to resist, so he allowed it.
"Why don't you go spar with Oto-sama?" Minato questioned her, causing her to pout.
"Papa went to drop off some stuff at Strawberry Productions." She answered. Minato could tell that she was slightly annoyed. Sapphire had always sparred with their father because he was the only one that presented a challenge.
"Hime, can I use seals?" Minato asked his older sister, using the nickname that their father would often use. The family knew just how much Sapphire liked being called that.
"Nope!" Was her responding answer, causing Minato to sigh.
"But you already know that I'll lose to you." Minato pointed out. No one but their father was a match for her.
"Minato, you can't just cheat your way through a fight!" Sapphire chastised him while he just gave her a blank look.
"Your whole body is a cheat." Minato shot back as she chuckled sheepishly.
"T-That's different! I was born with a strong body!" She said confidently as she wiggled her eyebrows.
"Besides, you don't like it Minato?" She teased him as she showed off her body. While it was true that Sapphire had a more mature body compared to her peers, her freakish strength drove off a lot of people.
"No thanks, you're not my type." Minato resorted to teasing right back at her. Sapphire stopped and looked at him, her eyes wide, mouth hanging.
"W-What?! Not your type?! Baka! You promised to marry me!" She complained while Minato shook his head.
"Y-you know that siblings can't marry to each other! Besides, we were little back then." He said flatly as the two finally arrived at the Dojo. Minato grumbled at the fact that he wasn't wearing his training clothes, so he opted to take off his shirt and since he was already wearing shorts it would make do. He saw Sapphire take off her clothes as well, but he wasn't concerned since underneath her clothes, she always wore a pair of training ones.
"I have no idea how you can stand to wear so much clothing." Minato said with a sweat drop while Sapphire shrugged.
"But Minato, what if I need to fight off bad guys and need to keep my identity a secret?!" Sapphire questioned him to which he just looked at her like she was crazy.
"This isn't a fantasy world you know. It's not like taking an article off your person will throw people off." Minato reasoned, but was forced to dodge to his left as Sapphire quickly closed the distance in an attempt to give him a right hook.
"But what if it was?" Sapphire reasoned as she quickly spun on the balls of her right heel and dodged Minato's punch, all the while she brought up her left leg to deliver a devastating blow, which Minato guarded by raising his right forearm, absorbing much of the blow. He took a few large steps backward to gain some distance. In a close-quarter fight, he'd stand no chance. He'd rather maintain distance and force her to cover it in hopes of tiring her out.
"I'm sure Oto-sama would love to know that his Hime wants to fight crime." Minato taunted lightly with a smile on his face, he wanted her to make a mistake. He brought his right hand up and caught her left fist mere inches away from his face. The wind rushed past him, indicating just how much power was behind the blow. He went for a quick gut punch, but Sapphire intercepted before she used her body weight and spun her brother around like a ragdoll, forcing him to let go as he was thrown aside.
"I'm sure Papa would be happy." Sapphire reasoned with fire in her eyes as she allowed her brother to stand back up.
"That was a powerful punch." He commented to which she grinned.
"Chakra is a wonderful thing, Minato. Our bones on average are denser, more powerful, and far more durable. It's able to fight off any deadly diseases known to man, and what's more, if we lose teeth or two, they'll always grow back. So, our sparing can be much more lethal than what people typically do." Sapphire spoke as she raised her hands, ready to go back on the offensive. Minato huffed as he himself raised his hands.
"Doesn't make it any less painful. I'd rather not lose a tooth." He exclaimed as the two shot towards each other, engaging the other with a flurry of attacks. Minato tried to attack with a wide right hook to bypass the frontal defense, but Sapphire responded by easily batting away the incoming blow before she sent a quick right jab to his face. Minato leaned the left side of his body a bit backward, the incoming jab barely rushing past his face.
"You're finished." Sapphire muttered. While Minato was focused on protecting his face, he left his right side exposed. Sapphire used the opening and delivered a strong kidney punch causing Minato to grunt as he was sent reeling back.
"Oi oi, that's illegal!" Minato chastised her to which she shrugged.
"We have Chakra. A punch to our kidneys is nowhere near as lethal as it would be for regular people." She reasoned, causing Minato to grumble at how right she was. Like their bones, their organs were also far stronger and durable.
"And did you forget that we are Uzumaki's?" She questioned him with a raised eyebrow to which he sighed.
"I haven't forgotten." He answered. Another reason why the Uzumaki Clan were so feared in battle was their extremely effective regenerative factor, able to survive attacks that would put other Shinobi out of commission.
"But that doesn't mean it hurts any less." Minato countered as Sapphire gave him a sweet smile.
"Well, maybe if you trained like I did, your pain tolerance would be higher." She said with a smile causing him to take a step back. It was no secret that Sapphire was this strong, but what people didn't know was that like their father, she's a stamina freak!
"Think fast!" Sapphire spoke as she appeared right before him as her left hand quickly took hold of his neck. Minato's eyes widened as he realized what she was about to do. He in turn mimicked the move with his left arm, but she was faster as she quickly pushed the left arm upwards with her right and shot past him, her left arm looping underneath his right and getting him in S-lock.
"Damn," Minato muttered as he was now caught in a full nelson, and with her strength, there was no way of getting out.
"You give up?" She whispered in his ear as she applied a bit more pressure. He sighed as he raised his hands up as high as he could, surrendering. Sapphire quickly let him go as she smirked in victory.
"I don't see the point of these spars. You'll always win." Minato complained to which she chuckled.
"Can't a sister spar with her brother?" She questioned him. She knew that the only other person that was stronger than her was their father because he had years of experience as a combat Shinobi and war experience at that too. She'd never be able to beat him, but she'd damn well try!
"I suppose." Minato muttered, but smiled. Well, it's not like he'd deny her the spar. He just wished she would go easy on him at times. No, she was going easy on him. If she went at the pace like she does with their father, he'd be down within seconds. He opened his mouth to speak but the bell to the house rang. He blinked as he wondered who it was.
"You gonna go get it?" Sapphire questioned him as headed for the showers. Minato nodded as he went to the door, however, he failed to see Sapphire's grin as she watched him go. Minato walked over to the door and slowly opened it.
"Uzumaki household, how can I he–" The words seized up in his throat as his mouth was slightly opened as he blinked at the person before him.
A few minutes earlier:
"Is this the right place?" Kana looked down at the address and then looked up at the house and then down back and up. For a family that was well known, it sure didn't reflect the house they lived in. It was a traditional-looking house, nothing too big, and was situated on a decent plot of land.
"That's not to say that this area is cheap." She muttered to herself. Buying land and building a house anywhere close to Tokyo downtown was an expensive affair. She shrugged her shoulders as she walked up to the door and rang the bell. She took the time to straighten out her yellow sundress and took in a deep breath.
"Uzumaki household, how can I he–" She heard as she looked at the person that greeted her, and her eyes widened as her reaction mirrored his. There was Minato, standing nothing but in shorts as he was covered in sweat.
"LOOK AT THOSE MUSCLES!" She shouted in her head as a blush began to cover her whole face, as red as her hair was. Minato for his part had completely shut down. There was the girl that he had been crushing on, in a beautiful yellow sundress, his favorite color no less.
"AND I'M PRACTICALLY NAKED!" He shouted in his head as he realized that he was covered in sweat with nothing but shorts. He did the only thing he could; slam the door shut as he looked at it. No wait, that was the wrong reaction! He opened it back up again, blushing madly as he looked at her.
"H-Hey there K-Kana-san! How can I help you?" He stuttered out as looked at her, maintaining his polite smile as she kept looking at him, completely and utterly captivated by his body. She shook her head at that thought.
"He's five years your junior! Besides, you like Aqua! I wonder if Aqua is this built." She thought as she tried to banish such thoughts. Although Minato was very hot in her opinion.
"BAD THOUGHTS! Although if we wait a few years – NO! BAD THOUGHTS!" Kana finally managed to get a hold of herself as she looked at him.
"Uh, I'm over here for dinner." She explained as Minato blinked at that before he moved aside.
"Oh, uh, ok. Well, come on in. My parents should be home anytime soon, so make yourself comfortable." He welcomed her with the same polite smile as ever, though the blush was still on his face. Kana thanked him as she entered the Uzumaki household and was surprised at how…basic it was, but something about it felt…welcoming.
"Uh, is Aqua home?" Kana asked him out of curiosity, which caused Minato's eye to twitch. Did he forget to mention that she was infatuated with his older brother?
"N-No, Nii-sama won't be home until later," Minato answered her, again keeping his polite smile, but internally he was grinding his teeth. He knew it was silly to be angry with his older brother because Kana liked him.
"O-Oh…" Kana appeared disappointed by that but smiled, nonetheless.
"Ara ara, what are you doing, Minato?" Minato stiffened as he turned to look back and saw his sister giving him a coy look. Minato blinked at her before he realized it and sent her a light glare.
"She knew!" Minato folded his arms over his chest as he made his way upstairs. He had been duped by Sapphire of all people! The said girl chuckled before she turned to look at Kana.
"Uh, hello there Sapphire-san." Kana sent the girl a small wave to which Sapphire smiled and walked up to her.
"Hey there, Kana-onee-chan! Wanna go up to my room while my folks come back?" Sapphire questioned the girl, who blushed in embarrassment at what Sapphire called her but nodded. Sapphire grinned at her before she practically dragged the older girl up to her room.
"H-Hey wait! I can walk by myself!" Kana spoke up, but Sapphire ignored her pleas and dragged the girl into her room.
"And here is my room! My domain! My word is the law here!" Sapphire declared as she stretched out her arms as if showing off her kingdom. Kana blinked as she studied the room. She quickly came to realize just how different Sapphire was from her mother. Everything in her room was boyish in nature. Posters about fighting movies, a training bag was thrown about and a punching bag hung from a part of the room.
"Her room is a mess." Kana thought with a sweat drop.
"Bask in its glory!" Sapphire shouted as she began to laugh.
"It's… unique…" Was Kana's reaction as she stepped into the chaos that was Sapphire's room. Sapphire walked over to her bed and jumped into it and relaxed as she released a content sigh. Kana, however, went over to the only chair in the room and sat down as she studied the desk. Like her room, the desk was also a mess. With magazines about fighting, bodybuilding, and all kinds of fitness magazines all over the place.
"You really like working out, don't you Sapphire-san?" Kana asked as she went through the magazines. She assumed that the daughter of the famous Ai would be into Idols and stuff. Clearly, she assumed wrong. Sapphire chuckled as she sat up.
"But of course! I want to get as strong as possible and one day I'll defeat my father and take over the family Dojo!" She declared as she pumped her fist. Kana looked at her in surprise.
"And your parents are fine with that?" She inquired, curious at that. Sapphire tilted her head with confusion.
"Why wouldn't they be? Mama and Papa have always told us to do what we liked! And I like fighting!" Sapphire responded with a grin as Kana looked at her, a slightly envious look in her eyes, but she quickly smiled. Sapphire then fidgeted as she looked around her room. Now that she thought about it, her room was a mess, and no doubt would be off-putting.
"Sorry about the mess." She mumbled, but Kana shook her head.
"Oh, no it's ok! It's your room after all." Kana waved her off as she smiled at the girl.
"REALLY?!" Sapphire shouted with a smile on her face as she was not practically inches away from Kana, who blinked at her. How did she move so fast? Sapphire quickly backed up after realizing that her burst might have caused Kana some discomfort.
"S-Sorry. It's just that I have never had any friends over other than Tomo-chan…" Sapphire muttered an apology as she looked down. The redhead looked at the girl and saw something, something that reminded of herself.
"You don't have many friends, do you?" Kana blurted out her honest opinion without shame. It was a quality of hers that many people disliked, but she refused to change. Sapphire nodded as she kept looking down.
"P-People don't typically want to be my friend because of how strong I am. I'm not as girly as my sister, nor am I as talented as my brothers. I excel in fighting and that scares most of my peers off." Sapphire explained as she chuckled.
"You think I'm probably a freak as well, don't you? I mean, look at my room. Nothing about it is normal for a girl my age." Sapphire spoke, her voice was slightly pained. She didn't hate herself for what she was and what she liked. She hated the fact that most people didn't accept her for it.
"No, I think that makes you unique and strong." Kana spoke, causing Sapphire to look up in surprise.
"You… You mean it?" She spoke, almost whispering it out. Kana nodded at her. She was a very blunt person, almost detrimental at times.
"All I have ever seen is kids wanting to become Idols, singers, entertainers, and other professions within the entertainment industry and often these people are set on that path by their parents. I think it's very strong and unique of you to break that stereotype despite who your parents are. I don't think you're a freak at all, Sapphire-san." Kana finished with a smile, but her smile turned into worry as the mini-Ai started to cry.
"W-Wait don't cry! Was it something I said?!" Kana asked in worry, but Sapphire shook her head and returned a smile of her own.
"Thank you, Kana-onee-chan!" Sapphire all of a sudden engulfed the older girl in a hug, much to her surprise, but she returned it.
"All I see is a lonely girl that needs some friends." Kana thought to herself. In a way, she could relate to her. While the two hugged each other, inside the room Minato heard everything and smiled to himself.
"Thank you for saying those things, Kana-san." He muttered to himself. As headstrong and proud his sister was, she desperately wanted to make friends. Aside from Tomo, she didn't have other friends. So, he hoped that Kana would be a friend to her as well, and he was right.
An hour later:
Naruto was happily humming a tune as he walked home. He had just finished meeting up with Ichigo to deliver the next novel. He had opted to switch publishers to Ichigo's company since he had been a family friend ever since he and Ai got together.
"Hmmm, I wonder what Ai-chan will be cooking today." He mumbled to himself with a smile. He enjoyed her cooking, it was leagues better than his own, and as much as he hated to admit it, better than…ramen.
"Forgive me, ramen gods!" He sent out an apology to the ramen gods, the only gods he'd ever worship. As he made his way to an intersection, he was momentarily caught off guard as a white cat ran across from him. He raised an eyebrow at that.
"Meowy, come back!" He heard someone shout as he looked down the street to find a blond hair dirty blond hair charging at the cat as she dived in and scooped up the cat.
"Aha! Power wins again! Come now Meowy! Let us have Denji buy us food! Then we shall work on me winning the Nobel Prize!" The girl laughed in triumph as she turned around and left the way she came, her cat in her hands.
"What…just happened?" Naruto commented in confusion. That had to be one of the most random things he had ever seen happen. Especially considering that the intersection he was at was pretty lifeless at this time of the day. He shrugged his shoulders and continued his walk. His home wasn't that far away and within minutes he had reached it.
"I'm home!" He announced his presence as he walked through the hall and towards the living room. As soon as he entered the living room, he felt like he had walked on an impending battlefield.
"What the hell?!" He thought to himself as he saw the scene before him. Aqua was minding his own business while reading a book. Some redhead was stealing glances at him, while Minato had a strained smile on his face and Ruby looked like she was ready to commit bloody murder. All the while Sapphire and Ai were in the kitchen. He gulped and opted to back out of the living room and instead went to the kitchen. He didn't know what was going on, but he decided that it was in his best interest to stay out of it.
"Uh, dear, what does it look like a cold war in the living room?" Naruto whispered to his wife, who looked at him with a knowing smile.
"Oh? Is it now? I think it's going rather well." She answered as Naruto looked at her like she was crazy. He could get the tension in there with a rusty kunai!
"So, who's our guest here?" Naruto questioned. The only other red-haired girl he knew was Tomo and unless Tomo started to look like a child that was not Tomo.
"Oh, that's Kana-onee-chan!" Sapphire decided to answer much to Naruto's confusion. Who now?
"Uh, who?" Naruto questioned. He was pretty sure he and Ai only had two daughters, not three. Sapphire giggled at her father.
"Kana-onee-chan is a friend of Aqua-nii and Ruby-nee and an Idol in Ruby-nee's new group. Mama invited her over for dinner." Sapphire explained as Naruto nodded in understanding.
"Oh, but why does it look like there is about to be a murder in our living room?" Naruto questioned with a sweat drop as Sapphire looked at him confused while Ai just kept her smile.
"I have no idea what you're talking about. Now come, dinner is ready." Ai answered as Naruto sighed. Must she be so cryptic all the time? He watched as Sapphire went over and announced to the other four that dinner was ready.
A few minutes later:
Naruto narrowed his eyes as he glanced around the table as he ate his rice. The tense atmosphere in the living room and now arrived at the dinner table and he still couldn't figure out why!
"WHAT IS GOING ON?!" He mentally shouted at himself. Ruby was glaring at Kana that it looked like she had the Sharingan and about to unleash Amaterasu! Kana paid no mind, as she ate her food, but kept looking at Aqua who didn't pay much attention. Minato, as always, let his smile. However, his eyes told a different story. Like twin dark stars that shone darkly.
"So, Kana, I hear you're an Idol, like Ruby?" Naruto tried to break the ice. Since his wife and youngest daughter seemed to be oblivious to whatever was going on. Heck, even he didn't know what was going on! Kana straightened up as she looked at the man known as Naruto Uzumaki. Her first impressions were…he was nothing like she imagined him. She expected him to be a strict man that kept his children in line with high expectations. But after what she heard from Sapphire and after meeting him, he was nothing like she imagined.
"Uh, yes! Ruby asked me to join her group and be an Idol, so I took up her offer." She answered, while discreetly throwing a glance toward Aqua. If Naruto noticed, he didn't say anything.
"Uh, Uzumaki-san, if you don't mind me asking a question..." Kana started, but Naruto gave her a sheepish look and waved his hand back and forth.
"Please, call me Naruto. Uzumaki-san makes me feel old." Naruto insisted. He wasn't much for formalities. Kana nodded, still trying to get a feel for the blonde's nature.
"Right. I wanted to ask, why do you write those…books? Don't get me wrong, I know that they are insanely popular, but it doesn't seem like your character to write those kinds of books." Kana questioned. This drew various reactions from the family. Aqua and Minato almost choked on their water, while Ruby and Sapphire blushed, and Ai brought a hand up to her mouth.
"Oh, dear…" Ai let out as she threw Naruto a sly look. Naruto's eyes twitched at that. She knew something that he didn't, and it was driving him insane! He coughed in his hands as he looked at Kana.
"The truth is, they aren't my book. I simply edit them." Naruto said truthfully. Kana looked at him, confused.
"What?" Was her question as Naruto chuckled sadly.
"Actually, the name Jiraiya I use belongs to my sensei. He wrote all those books, but he never published them. I guess you could say it was a hobby of his. I used to help edit his work and so when he…died…I decided to publish his work as a means to honor him." Naruto explained with a sad smile. He didn't tell her the complete truth, but the majority of it was the truth.
"Oh…I'm sorry if I brought up bad memories." Kana apologized. She could tell that the subject of his sensei was a sensitive one. Naruto chuckled and shook his head.
"Don't be. And if I know that old pervert, he'd be laughing it up if he found out his work was so popular." Naruto finished with a hearty laugh as Ai smiled at him. He had told her that Jiraiya was like a father to him, so when the man had died, it had almost broken him and he almost went on a rampage.
"Naruto-kun, even now you are hurting deep down. But I am here for you." She thought to herself sadly. The number of people Naruto had lost in his life was far too many and she knew just how protective he was. In his own words, he refused to lose anyone else.
"Anyways, have my three little toads been behaving at school?" Naruto asked her with a smile. Kana raised an eyebrow at that as she looked at the three blushing Uzumaki children while Sapphire laughed.
"Toads?" She questioned him as Naruto nodded and pointed to Aqua, Ruby, and Minato.
"Yup! These three are my little toads! I know that at times they can be a handful. Aqua can appear to be rude and brash. Ruby can be quite eccentric at times, and Minato tends to keep to himself like his older brother." Naruto listed off as the three Uzumaki's blushed even more.
"Papa! I am not eccentric!" Ruby shouted in protest to which Naruto chuckled.
"You're being eccentric right now." Naruto countered as she pouted and sat down.
"Baka-papa." She mumbled, but everyone heard it. Kana couldn't believe how openly Ruby had called her father an idiot, but the man just laughed her off!
"Guilty as charged!" Naruto accepted that reality. He knew his daughter didn't mean that. It was her way of showing annoyance.
"Must you list off our flaws in front of a guest, Oto-san?" Aqua finally spoke up, but Naruto raised an eyebrow.
"But Aqua, I don't see those as flaws, I see them as a part of who you are. I know you might appear rude and brash, but you're also nice and polite. You always try to help people in need." Naruto pointed out as Aqua scoffed and looked away slightly, but Kana could clearly see a small smile on the boy's face.
"And then there's Minato. He might seem like a big loner and all, but he is as polite as you can get. He might not show it, but he's always putting others before him." Naruto smiled as he watched Minato's face soften as he smiled truly.
"Thank you, Oto-sama." Minato thanked his father with a small bow.
"See? Each one of them is different and unique in their own way and I'd never want them to change the way they are." Naruto said fondly as he drank some water. At that moment, Kana realized just the kind of man Naruto Uzumaki was. He was a man who loved his family deeply and loved his children deeply as well.
"I wish…my family was like this." She thought almost jealously as she watched the Uzumaki family descend into their normal chaos. Aqua and Minato quietly ate their food, while Ruby and Sapphire engaged in small banter while the heads of the family simply watched their children.
"This… is what a family should be like." She thought to herself as she looked down at her food. She wished she had a family like this. As she simply sat and enjoyed the family making small talk and banter with each other, she didn't realize that Ai was observing her with a knowing look.
"Ara ara, it seems like she is quite smitten with Aqua, but Minato doesn't like that." She thought to herself. She saw what her husband couldn't see, a love triangle. She chuckled to herself while Naruto raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
"Is something funny?" He questioned her as she gave him a smile.
"Well, I guess you could say that." She responded as Naruto pouted. She knew something was up and she wouldn't tell him!
"WHAT IS GOING ON?!" He shouted mentally as he finally gave up just focused on eating his food. He'll get the answer out of her just yet!
And that is a warp! So, we got a further look at Minato's and Sapphire's character, their insecurities, and etc. They might be superhumans, but at the end of the day they are just as human as their siblings.
I hope you all enjoyed that short spar scene and the dinner bits. I'm not great at writing fight scenes, there are writers that do a far better job at them then I ever will. But I try my best!
And I also threw in another cameo, I'm sure you all will know where it's from considering the said anime is even mentioned in Oshi no Ko in passing lol. Anyways, I'll see you in the next chapter! Fair warning tho, next chapter is gonna be short, like, super short because it's just going to focus on Ai and Naruto. I'll see you all later today.
