Hanna woke up slowly once more to an arm draped around her waist. Quintus had stayed with her throughout the whole time she had been sick. He had done everything for work right by her side and if he wasn't by her side, he was downstairs ordering some people to do certain things.

She turned around slowly to find him asleep next to her. Smiling, she snuggled into his arms more and kissed his cheek, waking him up a bit. He smiled drowsily down at her.

"Darling what time is it" he said stretching a bit, making her laugh a bit.

Hanna could tell she was feeling much better. She was feeling playful, which she hadn't felt in days.

"Around three" she said softly, leaning forward to kiss him, which he responded to by pulling her into his arms more.

Quintus felt her forehead gently before giving her another quick kiss. "You're fever is gone. You're father will be happy about that."

Hanna smiled and clutched at his shirt, gazing up at him. "I'll finally be able to get out of this bed!"

Not that she minded being in his arms all the time, but she needed to move around. Needed to do normal things that she hadn't been able to do for three days. Quintus pushed some of her hair out of her face, placing his forehead on her's.

"Well I think you should be sick more often" he teased her, a playful smile coming to his face.

"Quintus no..." she said getting ready to move away from him, she knew what that smile meant.

He smirked now and grabbed her before she could get away, tickling her sides. "Oh you know you love it!" he exclaimed as she shrieked and laughed happily, squirming in his arms.

"Q...Quintus!" she exclaimed, laughing as he placed kisses all over her face.

"Okay, I surrender!"

He stopped tickling her and pulled her into a deep, passionate kiss, placing a hand on her cheek. She wrapped her arms around his neck, holding onto him tightly. She didn't think the kiss would ever stop and she didn't want it to, but when she heard yelling downstairs, she couldn't help but pull away and frown.

Quintus frowned as well. This had been going on for the past three days that he had been there. He was so deep in thought that he didn't even realize Hanna had gotten out of bed, creeping to the doorway so she could hear more clearly.

"Livia I don't know if I can do this anymore" Gaius exclaimed, raising his voice a little, making Hanna widen her eyes. What were they fighting about?

"I think we're done then" Livia yelled as she started marching up the stairs.

Hanna didn't even realize Quintus was behind her until he pulled her away from the door gently, laying them both down on the bed.

"What did they even mean?" she asked as Quintus pulled her close to his chest.

"I don't know, but they have been arguing for three days. You've been out of it, so you haven't heard a thing, but I sure have."

Hanna frowned a bit as she buried her face in his neck, closing her eyes. She pushed down her worries as she wrapped her arms back around the man she loved. Her father would tell her in time. Quintus stroked her hair and just as she was half asleep, the door opened as did her eyes.

Gaius walked in, holding what looked like a letter in his hand with a familiar dog walking next to him.

"Benny!" she exclaimed as her and Matthew's dog jumped up on the bed next to her and Quintus.

She sat up and hugged the shepherd happily as the dog whined a bit, licking her face.

"I thought Matthew was joking about having a dog" Quintus said shocked as he reached out and stroked the dog's head.

"He used to bring this dog everywhere" Gaius said now as he felt his daughter's forehead, checking for signs of any lingering fever. He then kissed her cheek and handed her a folded up letter.

"This is for you sweetheart. It's from Maya."

"Maya?" Quintus asked curiously, looking down at Hanna.

"My best friend" she said, sitting up more with his help. "I've been meaning to tell you about her."

She started to open the letter, but her dad reached out and stopped her gently, his hand on her's as he sat down on the bed next to her. It was a little crowded. A girl, her dog, her father and the man she loved on one bed, but surprisingly it was fine.

Hanna let go of the letter, abandoning it in her lap as she took her father's hand. She always felt like a little girl because her father's hands were larger than her's.

"You can open that later sweetheart. Right now we need to talk about security measures to keep you safe."

"It's that serious?" Quintus asked now as he wrapped a protective arm around a confused Hanna who looked at her father curiously.

"There are alot of people still angry at Matthew and...Hanna...is a target. For many reasons. One because I adopted her, two because she's involved with you and three because of her brother. And when I went to talk some sense into Matthew the other night, which failed...some men were talking about her like she was a traitor."

"What?" Quintus asked angrily as he tightened his arm around Hanna, determined not to let her go.

Hanna meanwhile, looked terrified as she held onto her father's hand tighter, leaning into Quintus. Why would people say such things about her? Now she could understand how Maya and Matthew felt everytime someone spoke badly of them.

Quintus kissed Hanna's head soothingly, burying his nose into her hair as her dad rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb.

"So here is what's going to happen from now on until further notice" Gaius said, leaving no room for arguments.

"Hanna you will be staying home unless you are with me or Quintus. You are not to leave the Roman quarter under any circumstances beyond that. You will have Ben with you at all times for protection. Sweetheart I realize this may be hard, but this is for you're own good."

Hanna nodded gently and looked up at her dad. "Whatever you and Quintus say I will do."

Gaius sighed with relief and nodded, kissing his daughter's forehead. "There is something else I need to talk to you about, but that will have to be a family meeting within the next day or so."

Hanna nodded and yawned a bit. She was still tired from being sick. Quintus noticed this and lowered her back down into his arms.

"You can officially get up and move around tomorrow as you don't have a fever anymore" her father said as he squeezed her hand gently before moving to Hanna's window seat, sitting down to rest. "Get some sleep sweetheart."

Maya walked with her father closely while Matthew examined a map as he was best at that skill. "Abba where are we going?" she asked curiously as she held onto his hand.

"I thought we were going to the Jordan River" Matthew said as he continued to look at his map.

"We aren't going there. We're going to Samaria" he said.

"Is this a joke?" Andrew asked curiously.

"There is a place that I want to stop at. Plus it will make our journey shorter by almost half."

"It is not safe" Matthew said as he walked up next to Maya, looking at her protectively.

"Did you all join me for safety reasons?"

Maya's mind started to fade in and out of the conversation. Yes Samaria wasn't safe and she worried about her dad and Matthew. And she was also starting to care about everyone else as well, but she trusted her father and whatever he said, she knew that he was doing everything for a reason.

"We'll all be fine" her father said pulling her against him as they started walking again. "And if not, Simon will show us what to do."

"Absolutely!" Simon exclaimed, making Maya question if he was being genuine or sarcastic.

They kept walking for awhile and when they came to the nearest town, they all got supplies for their journey. Maya went with Mary as the two wanted to get to know eachother more. The older woman was becoming like a mother figure for Maya.

"You know you are lucky that you're father adopted you" Mary said as they walked along, catching up with the others. "I've heard that you're old father wasn't really a very nice man."

"He wasn't" Matthew said overhearing, taking Maya's hand. "And the only reason Maya stayed in that house for so long was her mother, who just passed away a few weeks ago."

Jesus heard all this and walked towards the three who were in the back of the group. He knew it was a sensitive topic as he had brought it up a couple times and had to hold his child while she cried.

"Maya is one of the lucky ones though. She had Matthew, Faith and Hanna before I came along."

Andrew overheard and looked back at Maya. "I didn't know you and my sister were friends."

"Yeah we've been like sisters for years. She's kind of like an older mentor." Maya said as she leaned against her father, hoping that Andrew would take it better than Simon did.

He smiled though and it made her feel at ease. "I'm glad you had someone like my sister. She can make anybody a friend and make anyone feel better."

"Yeah that's what I worry about" Simon muttered. He didn't like that he was leaving Eden and his sister alone with no protection. Only that's where he was wrong.

"We should stop for food" he said, speaking up now as Jesus who was now back at the front with Maya next to him nodded and stared at the well ahead of them.

"You all go" he said, hugging Maya, kissing her cheek as he did so "I will wait here."

"Someone should stay with you" John said worried.

"I'll be alright" Jesus said nodding at the others. "Meet me at the well when you come back."

The others nodded, Maya squeezed her father's hand gently before running up to catch up to Matthew, taking his hand.

He smiled and kissed her forehead, holding her close against his side as they walked away. Maya looked back at her father, who had sat down at the bench, just enjoying some silence.

"He'll be fine" Matthew said softly.

"If anyone can take care of himself, Jesus can" Mary said, smiling at Maya reassuringly.
