Hanna walked into the house with Quintus, holding his hand tightly as she did so. Her dad had said that morning that they all needed to have a family meeting and that she needed to be home early. She looked nervously up at Quintus who took his helmet off, leaning down to kiss her gently as she wrapped her arms around him slowly. They had just pulled apart when Gaius walked into the room.

"It's going to be okay" Quintus said gently as he caressed her cheek gently. He knew what this was about as did Hanna.

Hanna shakily sighed and closed her eyes, leaning into his hand. Gaius saw the nervous state of his daughter and looked over at Quintus.

"You can stay you know" Gaius spoke up now as the two of them looked over at him.

Gaius walked over and wrapped Hanna in a comforting hug, kissing her forehead before gazing over at the man his daughter loved.

"You practically are family now anyway."

Quintus looked shocked, but placed his helmet down on a chair before taking Hanna's hand once more. Gaius led them into the living room where Hanna's two brothers and Livia were already sitting. She sat down next to Quintus as he wrapped his arm around her.

"Okay dad what is this about?" Marius spoke up as everyone else turned their heads towards him.

"Let him speak silly!" Hanna said teasingly as she ruffled his hair, making him laugh as she tickled him.

Quintus gazed at her lovingly. She would make a great mother someday. Gaius laughed a little before clearing his throat before speaking.

"You're mother and I have an announcement that will change the way things are a little bit so I need you boys to be brave. Hanna, you're life won't change that much, but you still need to know this."

She nodded as Quintus rubbed his hand up and down her arm a little, kissing the top of her head. Gaius took a deep breath before speaking once more.

"You're mother and I are getting a divorce. I realize this may come as a shock to you three but we've been trying to keep the fighting quiet so you all wouldn't hear. We tried to fix it but we just couldn't so...this is what's happening."

"What?" the boys asked shocked as Hanna just sat there as Quintus scratched her back a little.

Suddenly things went silent and everyone was looking at her expectantly. "I may have already known" she said as she looked up at her father who sat down next to her, taking one of her hands.

"I heard you and mom arguing while I was sick. Quintus did too."

Gaius looked over at her and then at Quintus. "You knew as well? Even before I came to you?"

"I heard you all as plain as day" he said wrapping his arm around Hanna gently. "She did too once her fever was gone."

Livia walked up next to Hanna, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder as she smiled down at her warmly. "Like you're father said, you're life won't change that much. You'll still be with him and the boys will be with me."

Marius sniffled a little and climbed into Hanna's lap as his sister wrapped her arms around him. Evo walked over and hugged her as well as Quintus backed up to give the family their space. Hanna saw him backing away a little. "Don't go" she mouthed to him as she placed her head on her brother's head.

Quintus nodded and sat on the couch across from them. Gaius kissed Hanna's head before taking Marius into his lap, giving her the freedom to walk back over to Quintus, sitting in his lap gently as he wrapped his arms around her waist. She placed her head on his shoulder and sighed, fiddling with his bright red cloak. The very cloak that she used to fear before she met her father. A question popped into her head as she looked over at her father, who was watching her with concern.

"When will this be finalized?" she asked softly as Quintus took her hand in his gently, kissing it.

"Tomorrow" Quintus said softly, interlocking his fingers with her's.

"That soon?" Gaius asked as he came to sit across from his daughter, pushing some hair out of her face. It amazed him that Hanna didn't even seem bothered by all this. She was just calm. But it only was her first day out of bed. Maybe she was just tired. She had only been fever free for two days.

Quintus nodded and felt Hanna's forehead as if reading her father's mind. "She's fine" he said as Gaius let out a sigh of relief.

"Give her to me. I'll take her upstairs. Tired or not, I haven't spent any time with my girl all day."

Hanna laughed a little as Quintus stood up, kissed her forehead and passed her over to her dad.

"You can help the boys pack if you want Livia said to Quintus" she said laughing. "I think they want to interrogate you about how much you love their sister."

Quintus laughed a little as well, nodding his head as he quickly kissed Hanna before following the boys to their room.

Gaius walked into Hanna's room, looking around for a moment. It wasn't really decorated yet, but that was because she had been sick. He smiled down at her and set her down on her bed, laying down next to her as he grabbed her favorite blanket, throwing it over them both. Ben jumped up next to Hanna and placed his chin on her knee.

"You know I haven't seen you all day" he said gently, kissing Hanna's cheek as she snuggled close to him.

"I know daddy I'm sorry" she said softly, playfully rubbing her nose against his.

"You don't have to be sorry sweetheart, you have Quintus now."

"But I am! You adopted me and I always wanted you to adopt me. I always wanted to be you're little girl! I should spend time with you too!"

Gaius smiled, a fond memory coming to his mind as he pushed a curl out of her face, twirling it around in his fingers as he placed his forehead on her's. "I remember a certain 16-year-old who started dressing up like a Roman girl because she wanted me to love her like my own daughter."

Flashback ~ Two Years Ago

Matthew's eyes widened as he saw his sister walking towards his booth. He was lucky he was on lunch break because he was so shocked he couldn't move. "Hanna? What have you done?"

She was wearing a pink Roman dress and her hair was curled completely. Half up and half down and it was all probably Maya's doing. And she wore a necklace that she had bought the other day that was completely Roman as well.

The two siblings stared at eachother for a minute when a voice chimed in from behind the young teenager. "Matthew what is this? Why is a Roman girl here on the...streets?"

The girl turned around to face the one man that she loved more than anybody in the world. The one man who she wanted to protect her.

"Hanna!" Gaius exclaimed as he looked at her shocked.

"Yes Gaius it's still me" she said softly, looking down at her sandals.

This was the man whom she wished she was born to instead of her real parents. She wanted to be his little girl more than anything, but she was too afraid to ask because she didn't want to ruin anything. And he acted like he hated her everytime he saw her as well.

He took her arm firmly and led her back to her and Matthew's house, taking her key from her as he unlocked the door.

"Do you not realize you stand out like a sore thumb?" He hissed at her once they were inside. "Hanna you are not Roman!"

He looked furious and it made her cry.

And it was then that Hanna knew this had been a terrible idea. Tears clouded her vision as she ran away towards her room, almost tripping on the long dress that she wasn't used to. She was never going to have parents again. She would just have to accept it.

She slammed her door and sank to her knees, sobbing. She got up slowly and walked towards her dresser, getting out some pictures she had drawn. She was an artist but limited people knew about it. Only Matthew and Maya knew what she could do.

She looked at the pictures in her hand. One was of her and Gaius hugging and in the other photo he was kissing her forehead. Everything she wanted that she would probably never have. She crumpled them up and threw them to the floor before throwing herself down on her bed, crying into her pillow.

The door opened behind her, but she didn't move to get up, more tears filled her eyes as she just continued to cry as she pushed her now tangled hair out of her face.

Gaius walked in slowly, stopping when he saw two crumpled pieces of paper on the floor. He picked both of them up, his eyes widening at what he saw. "Oh Hanna.." he thought to himself as he sank down on the bed behind the distraught teenager, placing the pictures in front of her before twirling a curl gently in his fingers, pushing it out of her face.

"Hanna..." He said softly, all the anger gone from his voice.

She wiped at her eyes, sitting up now as she looked up at him. "I...I just want to be you're little girl" the young girl whispered. "I don't know why when you hate me so much though."

Gaius closed his eyes and drew her into his arms, shocking her as he hugged her gently. She clutched his red cloak tightly as if he would slip away from her and this would all have been a dream.

"Hanna I am sorry. I didn't think...It must have been traumatic for you just to be disowned by you're parents like that. I don't hate you."

She buried her face in his shoulder, tears still streaming down her face.

"Han..." he said softly, using the nickname that her brother and best friend called her. "I will be you're father" he whispered softly.

She pulled away now and wiped at her eyes. "G...Gaius...do you mean it?"

He nodded and kissed her forehead, pulling her into his lap. She took the photos that she had drawn into her hand once more.

"I do mean it Hanna."

The 16-year-old handed the crumpled papers to him. "You can have these" she said softly.

"I'll keep them close to my heart." He kissed her forehead and rocked her back and forth gently.

End Of Flashback

"Do you still have them?" Hanna asked, placing her cheek on his chest as she gazed up at him.

"I do."

She sat up as he reached into her night stand, pulling out the two drawings. "I was thinking you and I could place these somewhere in here" he said as he pulled her back down into his arms.

Hanna smiled and gazed up at him. "You mean help me decorate my room?"

"Yes why not?" Gaius said, smiling down at her as he took one of her hands gently.

"I would love that daddy" she said reaching under her pillow as she grabbed her sketchbook, handing it to Gaius. "I have more."

"He smiled and flipped through her sketchbook, smiling at the many drawings of the two of them."

"Yeah you're a total daddy's girl" he said, shaking his head.

He found some of Maya, Matthew, Ben and of her and Quintus as well. "I think this is a very good start" He said, kissing her forehead. "We'll have this room looking good in no time!"
