Matthew and Maya had sat there in each other's arms for a long time before they heard a knocking at the door.

"We should probably go see who that is" Maya whispered as Matthew kissed her playfully, making her laugh now as he pulled her closer. "Matthew we don't want to be rude!"

"Okay fine" he said, letting her go so she could get up. She kissed him once more before going to the door, opening it to find two men and a girl her age.

"Shalom" Thomas said looking at Maya and Matthew. "I don't know you two."

"Maybe you're in the wrong place" Matthew said starting to close the door before Maya jumped in and opened it once more, giving Matthew a look.

"We are looking for Jesus" the man said once more, smiling softly at Maya now, who was always well mannered except for certain situations.

"Everyone is" Matthew said, looking over at Maya, who gave him a look telling him to behave. His social cues weren't as good as her's.

"Oh you're here!" Mary exclaimed, rushing over to greet them as well. "Thomas and Ramah yes?"

"Mary?" Ramah asked with a smile.

"Good memory!" she exclaimed. "It's so good to have you here! This is Matthew and Maya."

Matthew just looked at them awkwardly while Maya smiled and let them all in.

"And this man is Ramah's father, Kafni" Thomas said.

The older man nodded at them, a little more reserved than Thomas and Ramah.

"Where is everyone?" Ramah asked Maya now, happy to have someone her age to talk to.

"They're out looking for Abba" she said, smiling softly, hiding her insecurities and her growing headache from everyone.

"Abba?" Ramah looked curious now.

"Oh Jesus is Maya's father" Mary said smiling now. "He adopted her a couple weeks ago."

"Is he lost?" Thomas asked now.

"He's probably not lost, he just sometimes needs moments alone" Mary said. "Lots of people want to see him. He's been changing many hearts."

"I know how that works" Thomas said, beaming.

"I'm just here to thank him for saving you're careers. Not that you two care about that" Kafni said, rolling his eyes. To Maya he didn't seem like much of a believer.

Just then James and John came bursting in, smiles on both of their faces despite having to work all day in a field. Maya knew her father had been trying to teach them a lesson as did they.

"Oh you're here!" James exclaimed happily, smiling at Thomas and Ramah now.

"Yes we just arrived! Thomas explained now as John looked around, his eyes landing on Maya, who was chatting excitedly with Ramah about something.

"Maya where is you're father?"

"That seems to be the question of the day" Matthew said as he looked over at Maya now who was looking over at John, wondering if she should answer him. He could see she felt more uncomfortable than she was before.

She still was wary over all the men in the group due to Simon's dislike of her. It all made her feel insecure and not that safe. The only men who made her feel safe were her father and Matthew.

"I think he was asking Maya" James told Matthew.

Mary caught the look on Maya's now pale face and came to her rescue. "He's gone somewhere to be alone for now" she said, wrapping an arm around the girl gently.

Maya yawned into her hand now. "I'm kind of tired and my head hurts badly. I'm going to take a nap. Matthew come with me?"

He nodded and took Maya's hand gently. He could tell she was worn out and hurting. She got really bad headaches when she was stressed. So bad that sometimes she even got really sick. No one knew what to make of it. It was becoming chronic now.

"It was nice meeting you three" Maya said politely. "Ramah I hope we can get to know eachother better."

"Of course Maya!" she exclaimed smiling.

"Remember the rules you two. Door open at all times!" Mary said in a motherly way as Maya nodded, leading Matthew towards her room. John and James looked concerned as the girl walked away with her beloved.

"Mary what is wrong with her?" John asked, his big brother instincts kicking in as he watched the young girl.

"Ask Simon" Mary said sighing as she watched Maya. "He makes her so uncomfortable and scared sometimes that she doesn't trust any of the other men in the group except Matthew and her Abba."

"Even me?" John asked shocked now as he ran a hand through his hair.

"She doesn't trust men at all John. Period." Mary said.

"Trust me I know what that is like. I can't imagine what it must have been like for her to have a father who hated her in every way. But I know what it's like to not trust men."

James and John just stood there now shocked as Mary walked towards the three newcomers.

It was dark when Maya finally opened her eyes again. She felt a bit better, but she was weak and nauseated. She could feel Matthew's arms around her from behind and it made her feel safe. She was lucky he was used to people getting sick due to stress. First Hanna and now her. He noticed that she was awake now and pushed back some of her hair from her face.

"Matthew?" she whispered drowsily as she tried to get up a little, failing miserably.

"Don't get up Maya" he whispered softly as he gently pushed her back down, kissing her cheek. "I don't want you passing out."

"I hate being weak like this" she murmured as Matthew peppered kisses down the side of her face, trying to make her feel better.

"You are not weak Maya. You're one of the bravest girls I know."

She closed her eyes once more, sighing weakly. She faintly heard voices now as she fell back asleep. "Matthew...Stay...I don't want to see anyone...but you or Abba" she said as the world faded away once more.

The next thing she felt was a hand stroking her cheek as her nausea slowly went away as did her head pain. She immediately knew who it was as she opened her eyes, gazing into the light brown ones of her father.

"Abba" she whispered shakily as he kissed her forehead softly, stroking her hair.

"I'm right here little lamb" he whispered softly, making eye contact with Matthew who was stroking her side comfortingly.

"Matthew you go and get some sleep. I'll take care of her" Jesus said as they switched places.

Jesus lay down behind his daughter, pulling her against his chest as he kissed the side of her head. Matthew kissed Maya's forehead gently before walking out of the room, running into Simon as he did so.

"What's wrong?" he asked as Matthew just shook his head angrily at Simon and walked away, leaving the older man confused.

Maya was still pretty weak now as she turned and gazed up at her father, immediately shutting her eyes and burying her face into his neck at the sight of Simon who had just walked into the room. Jesus caught this and gazed at Simon, shaking his head.

"Later."

Simon nodded and looked at Maya for a second before walking out of the room. Jesus sighed and shook his head, stroking his daughter's hair back away from her face.

"He's always so angry" she whispered softly as her father placed his head on her's. "Just like..."

She didn't even need to finish her sentence because her father knew what she was talking about.

"I know Maya. I know you have been severely traumatized by the men in you're life. Except for me and Matthew of course."

Maya nuzzled into her father's shoulder now as he rubbed her back gently, kissing her head. "I am sending everyone out on errands tomorrow, but you young lady are staying with me."

He knew very well that she was always drowsy and out of it after a headache like this and he always wanted to watch over her. Maya nodded in agreement and closed her eyes as her father wrapped a blanket around them both, wiping some stray tears off her cheeks that she didn't even know were there.

"Maya I know I disappear sometimes sweetheart, but know that I will always come back" he said softly, taking one of her hands in his.

"But I tell you what. I will be taking a journey for a couple of days away to think while Matthew and the other disciples will be camping. How about you come with me."

"I'd like that Abba" she said softly, gazing up at him now as he kissed her forehead and her cheek.

"Now I know you've had a long day and you need you're sleep. You will be with me all day tomorrow little lamb. You will not have to worry about me disappearing."

Maya nodded and closed her eyes as her father held her to his chest. "I love you Maya" he whispered softly.

"I love you too Abba."
