Alithya's POV
Once the autopilot of the ship brought me to the dry earth and the bridge lowered, I took a moment to look through the window and noticed someone was waiting for me. I knew my assignment. Let's get this over with. I stood up from my seat and grabbed my white cloak putting it over my body and putting the hood over my head. I couldn't bring any of my belongings due to contamination of my planet. The cloak and what I had on were all decontaminated along with the ship before it departed so I wouldn't bring any toxins here.
The bridge lowered and I was met with dry air and wind. I blinked quickly to keep the moisture in my eyes and walked down the bridge. The person who was waiting was a man in long red robes. He is an elder. Like me he was black, but darker skinned. His facial and head hair are black and white opposite of my all over white. He smiled and held his arms out as he approached me.
"Lady Alithya, I presume." he said with joy in his tone. I nodded.
"Magistrate Greef Karga, I presume." I replied and he nodded.
"The very one. Call me Greef. Welcome to Nevarro!" he said. I just bowed my head in thanks and he cleared his throat. "Commander Runar told me your situation… I am sorry your people have to search for a new home. If Nevarro could handle your population and culture I would have welcomed everyone here." I nodded.
"Thank you, Magistrate. We are all in your debt." I replied. He gave a soft smile.
"All of my resources are open to you. Anything you need you can tell me." he said. "Do you have any belongings?" I shook my head.
"I have only brought myself as to not contaminate this planet. I have been strictly cleaned as well as the clothes on my body." I replied. He nodded.
"I appreciate the precautions you have taken. Your ship will be in my care as well in case you ever need to go off planet for anything." he said. I nodded.
"I understand." I replied and he nodded and now turned.
"Well let's get you to your new home." he said and I nodded and we began to walk toward a town. "I must admit, I am very shocked that your husband would agree to keep you here in our protection with the Mandalorians."
"My husband has had many missions with this people. He has fought by them and has been close to death with them He trusts them." I explained although I did not understand why he would trust them with me.
"Well I can speak on their behalf as well. The Mandalorians here have proven to be great allies to Nevarro. They have even saved us from invading pirates." he explained. We were now entering a town where many different species were moving about talking and working. There were not many trees here which saddened me. But I am a refugee here I would show nothing but gratitude. I was looking at the many different species that I had never personally encountered. Celestial women did not interact with many other species because our only main goals were continuing bloodlines and carrying for our homes and each other while the males hunted, protected our colonies, and sometimes went to war when the promise of resources were the prize.
"I heard Celestials were very solitary creatures. Everyone here is friendly as are the droids." he said. I noticed two droids were talking off to the side beside a row of brown homes.
"Are the Mandalorians here?" I asked.
"Not here, but they do have a large camp outside of the town. Once we get you situated I am to take you to see The Armorer, the camp's leader." he explained. I nodded. I have heard of her. After we would finish mating, my husband would often tell me stories about his travels to different planets and who he has met. I had no wish to ever leave my home world my people, but when he would return I marveled in the depths of his stories. He has spoken about the Mandalorians and some of the wars has fought with them.
"I see." I replied.
"I have heard stories your planet was very beautiful. You all thrived off the land and used droids very sparingly." I nodded.
"Yes. It was a paradise." I replied and he nodded.
"Well I know Nevarro is quite the opposite-"
"No Magistrate, your home I can imagine is a safe haven for many who needed a place like this. Now it is a safe haven for me." I replied smiling softly. He nodded and smiled and we continued to walk. My eyes roamed everything, my nose inhaled the musty smell of it all. The air definitely was not as clean as Mhylan, but seeing how casual people moved about, I could tell there was safety here.
I followed the magistrate into a large white stone building with electric doors.
"This entire building is yours. There are many rooms you can use for your own purposes." he said showing me different rooms with different large beds. Some had white blankets, others had black or brown, and even heavy furs of different species.
"I do not need this entire space, are there any residents who need a home?" I asked. The elder shook his head.
"No, everyone else here has a home." he said.
"But not the Mandalorians?" I asked and he shook his head.
"They decide to live a different type of lifestyle together much like your own people." he said. I nodded in thought of this.
"Then this can be a haven for any Mandalorians who may need shelter here." I replied and he nodded.
"I like the sound of that. Now let me show you the main suite which will be your room." he said. I followed him to the top of the building and when we got to two white doors they slid open and I saw light shining inside. Greef stepped to the side and bowed for me to let me enter and so I did. I looked around at the many large plants off to the corner of the room. The air was purer in this room because of them. I noticed the large bed with white blankets. There was a room for hygienic purposes and a storage room for clothes.
"It's a little empty at the moment, but that's why I am here. Anything you would like that would remind you of your home, please allow me to procure it for you." he said. I looked around for a moment and noticed a balcony toward the side and moved over to it. I opened the doors myself and walked out on it and looked down at the town. I wasn't very high off the ground. If I had to jump out it, I could land in some of the slim trees on the opposite side of the building. I then returned inside and looked at the elder.
"If you could give me a moment to embrace some of my emotions then I would like to meet the Mandalorians." I replied. He nodded.
"Sure, no problem. Do you need any food?" he asked. I smiled at his kindness.
"Not at the moment, thank you." I said. He nodded.
"I'll be outside the building waiting. When you are ready we can go." he said. I nodded once and he closed the door. Now it all felt quiet and I moved to the middle of the room looking at everything around me. My once calm beating heart started to quicken and I closed my eyes and just yelped falling to my knees and covering my face with my hands. My palms were dry and I felt they would cut my eye lids, but I didn't care.
I sobbed quietly.
"I can't do this. I can't do this, Runar!" I cried. I was alone, my family was not with me, I had never been so far away from home before. And yet here I am in a world that I could not call my own. I had duties now to another who was not my own mate. How could I even let another male touch me, all my body knows is Runar. I felt I would be sick. What if this temporary mate was not a good mate?
I took some eve breaths slowly lifting my head and sniffling some finally quieting myself. There was nothing I could do in this moment except do what is needed. Once I met with the Mandalorians then the first big step would have been done. I slowly pulled off my cloak, my long pony tail falling over my shoulder and hitting the floor. I hoped I would not have to be here for too long.
After cleaning myself up, I met the High Magistrate outside. He was in some wagon looking contraption with a droid attached to it.
"Are you ready milady?" he asked stepping out and offering me his hand. I nodded and took his hand.
"Yes, High Magistrate." I replied.
Paz's POV
I was watching my son train with the other younglings. He was learning fast and this brought pride to me. I had yet to tell him of this assignment and I was unsure of how to tell him. I did not plan to tell him the specific details, but I planned to tell him she would be in my charge, but for how long I did not know.
Now my thoughts drifted to the Celestial woman. I didn't know a thing about their culture except they are a warrior race who had a thriving homeworld and a strong civilization. But what were they like? How am I supposed to even interact with the woman who was on her way to the camp right now? Do we talk first… is she expecting me to mate with her right away? My mind was realing now but a familiar small sound caught my attention and I turned to see none other than Din Djarin and his foundling. They had been on an assignment for the magistrate of the town.
"Paz." he said. I nodded.
"Djarin. Youngling. You've both returned unharmed." I replied looking down at the child who cooed in response. Din nodded.
"Nothing too dangerous. I hear you're going to be taking on a very important mission yourself." he said. I knew word would get around of the woman coming, if she had to be around for a certain period of time then everyone had a right to know who she was. But I didn't feel the need to go into great detail with the younger Mandalorian.
"Nothing I can't handle." I said.
"Of that I have no doubt." Din replied. The Armorer was approaching and she looked my way.
"She is here. Come." she replied and began to turn from me. No one would be able to tell but I was now more nervous than ever.
"Good luck." Din replied and I just muttered before turning and leaving to follow our leader.
Alithya's POV
The camp was not too far away from the town. There we many tents surrounded by mountains and close to those mountains were ships. The elder stepped down first then helped me off the wagon now. I noticed some men and women in armor and masks approaching. Greef raised his hand to them.
"Greetings. Is your leader around, I have someone she is supposed to meet!" he called out.
"I am here." A firm female voice said as an armored female parted the group of warriors. She wore armor plates of gold and russet, her helmet gold. Behind her I noticed a much larger Mandalorian behind her, his armor blue with stripes of green in his mask. Greef smiled and nodded at the woman before looking at me.
"Do not be afraid. This is The Armorer, leader of this tribe." he said before looking at the woman, "Lady Alithya." I looked at the woman and bowed.
"Lady Armorer." I replied.
"Please, there is no need for such titles. The Armorer will suffice." she replied before looking at the large man behind her who stepped beside her.
"Alithya this is Paz Vizsla, your new mate." she introduced. Quietly I began to walk a few steps past Greef and Paz did the same walking toward me. I had to look up at him as he was getting closer. Now he stood right before me.
"Hello, Lady Alithya." he said. His voice is deep and commanding. I was trying not to shake from nervousness now. I leaned forward toward him and gave him a mild sniff. He smelled just like a warrior which smelled of dirt and sweat from practicing and fighting. I finally leaned back. The large man just watched me.
"Hello Sel Vizsla." I replied. Paz did not reply, instead he looked at his leader.
"Sel is the Celestial word for sir or ser." she explained. He gave a curt nod before looking back down at me.
"Please, there is no need for such titles. Please call me Paz." he replied and I nodded.
"Please call me Alithya." I replied. He nodded.
"There is much that needs to be discussed today, Magistrate. If you'd like to leave, we can bring Alithya back to town when we are finished." the Armorer announced. I could tell Greef wasn't entirely sure and so he looked at me and I just gave a gentle smile and nodded. He nodded back.
"Alright, no problem. I will leave you to your business." he said.
Paz's POV
The moment she came into view, I couldn't stop staring. She was brown skinned like the magistrate but wasn't as dark as him. She was full figured with a noticeably large bust. Her hair was long and white and her eyes were a deep blue. The tips of her ears were slightly pointed but not sharp enough to notice unless you are as close as she was to me. I had never seen someone so beautiful as she, not even Ragnar's mother had me staring like I was. I was glad she couldn't see me. She has two blue dots over her each eyebrow, and from I could see on her neck something pale was in her skin. Tattoos maybe? I was put off by her smelling me. I was sure I didn't smell like flowers and perfume, but she didn't look disgusted by my smell. Maybe that was a Celestial thing.
As the magistrate left, Alithya seemed to be eyeing every inch of me. I wondered what she thought of me.
"Come we will go to my armory where the three of us will talk, then you two will speak." My leader said. So we would be alone. I didn't know what to expect, but I already knew I wanted to know all I could about this woman.
