Lazlo had done what no Runnybottom camper had ever done before. he had left the Campgrounds as was walking through the woods. The Monkey know he would probably get in trouble, but he just could not just stand by and let an animal suffer. making his way through the woods, Lazlo listened to the sounds; following them straight to the source but not expecting to find what he did.
The source of the noise was a big brown furred creature, laying down on the ground in pain. Lazlo poked his head out of the bush, approaching the creature, identifying it as a Brown Bear. Lazlo called out to the Bear which quickly roared at him defense, standing over Lazlo.
It was this act which made Lazlo notice the pinecone stuck in the Bear's nose. The Monkey looked at huge bear, pointing to the pinecone as the bear recoiled in defense. Lazlo told the bear he could pull that out for him. reaching his hands out.
The monkey put his hands on the pinecone, pulling as the Bear made sounds of discomfort, eventually Lazlo stood on the bear's head and pulled it right out, using his strength as he fell on his back.
"There you go, feeling better?" Lazlo asked, setting the pinecone on the ground. The bear was still groaning in discomfort before breathing through his nose. seeming grateful. Lazlo knew he had to get back to camp before anyone noticed he was gone. Looking at the bear, Lazlo told him he had to be going and that pinecones were not for noses as he walked off.
Lazlo headed back on the route back to the camp, glad that he settled that little matter quickly as only a few minutes had passed, Lazlo was bold enough to think he might actually make it back to Camp Runnybottom without anyone finding out he had left. He was going to tell Raj and Clam about what happened though.
Suddenly the Monkey heard a twig break as he turned around, not seeing anyone. Lazlo concluded it was just some wild animal as he continued his walk. he made his way through the forest, but he could not shake the feeling he was being followed.
Eventually the Monkey looked around before undoing his backpack, setting it on the ground and jumping into a tree to make sure he wasn't being followed. he hung from the branch seeing the big brown bear from Earlier. Lazlo did not know what overcame him, but he let go of the tree, falling as he knocked the bear on its back.
"Why are you following me?" Lazlo asked confused, not wanting to come off as hostile but found it weird. The Bear simply pointed to his nose. Lazlo pieced together that the Bear was grateful that he pulled out pinecone.
Lazlo smiled back at him, getting off, saying he needed to head back to camp, reaching for his backpack and putting it back on before telling the Bear to go home. Lazlo walked back off. The Bear noticed Lazlo walking off again and yet again followed him. Lazlo realized that the bear was not leaving the Monkeys side.
"You're not going home are you, you're saying you want to return to Camp Runnybottom with me?" Lazlo asked as the bear nodded. Lazlo knew that it was a bad idea. Lumpus said that Nature was not allowed at Camp Runnybottom, Lazlo himself was not even supposed to be in the woods. The Monkey could tell that the bear felt safe around him, hitting the monkey with the biggest eyes like a sad puppy. Lazlo knew he was going to regret it but agreed to let him stay for a short while.
In Cabin 13 Raj and Clam were playing cards, starting an argument. Raj was accusing Clam of cheating which the rhino denied as he kept drawing the cards he needed, Raj believed it was too fortunate to be pure luck.
"Go Fish" The Rhino repeated, setting a pair of eights on the bed as Raj groaned, somehow knowing Clam had that card. Lazlo had managed to sneak the bear back to camp undetected somehow as he entered the cabin. Both Raj and Clam turned the monkey, welcoming him back, stating that Lumpus seemed to have not found out about Lazlo leaving the campgrounds.
Lazlo shrugged admitting he brought a 'little' friend back as Raj and Clam looked at each other and back to Lazlo who called the friend into the Cabin, calling him Fluffy as the two noticed the huge bear walking in their cabin. earning a scream from both Raj and Clam who immediately bunkered under their beds, begging them to send Fluffy back to the woods, claiming he was an 'eating machine'. Lazlo assured them Fluffy was friendly, telling him how he pulled the pinecone from the bear's nose.
Raj Looked at Lazlo, asking him what would happen if Scoutmaster Lumpus found out about fluffy.
At The Scoutmaster Cabin Lumpus walked to a wooden globe, opening it as he pulled as bottle of whisky out, pouring a glass himself as he used a pair of metal tongs to grab a few cubes of ice. he walked to his desk sitting down, looking at the camper across from him.
"Now, you're sure you SAW him leave?" Lumpus asked, swirling his drink as he was looking at Patsy. the Mongoose nodded, telling him that Lazlo left the camp with his backpack, Raj calling after him that no one was allowed to leave camp and then she saw him walk into the woods. she explained. Lumpus was pleased to hear this news, having an excuse to kick out the troublemaker.
Lumpus looked at the Mongoose, asking if she understood what this meant, Lazlo breaking Camp Runnybottom's biggest rule, in addition to all the other rules he had broken. He had a reason to expel him form camp.
Patsy was relieved to hear this as in one day the Monkey had broken more rules than all of Camp Runnybottom put together and it would only spread if she did not eliminate the root of the problem. she could clearly identify that Lazlo was the head of that snake that was Camp Runnybottom's problems, and this Mongoose was going to bite its head clean off.
Plus, she had a bit of a personal grudge towards the monkey for flinging her into Leaky Lake. Despite how desperate she was to shower, the showers were closed outside of regular times meaning she had to walk around camp with damp clothes, smelling of the lake.
"I'm this close to re-establishing order in my camp" The Moose said, finishing his glass as he set it down as they both left, heading to Cabin 13. Edward seeing this walked alongside the two asking if Lazlo was getting the Boot. Patsy nodded, both scouts having devious smiles on their faces.
"LAZLO!" Lumpus called out approaching Cabin 13. there were sounds of shuffling inside as Lazlo quickly stepped out, standing in front of the cabin door, greeting Scoutmaster Lumpus, all while clearly looking guilty.
"You!" Patsy called out wringing the Monkey's neck as she shook him violently, calling out that he sent her flying into the lake, telling him he better hope her uniform was not ruined. Lumpus decided to let Patsy blow her steam off at the monkey, finding it amusing before punishing him.
"Lazlo, you are in deep shit" The Iron Moose called out, mentioning it had come to his attention that the Monkey had left the campgrounds and violated Camp Runnybottom's most sacred rule. I Have half a mind to-Gwwarr" Lumpus continued as he was caught off by a loud growl.
Lumpus turned to Patsy, thinking she had blown off all her steam as she shook her head, claiming that was not her. she looked at Edward who also denied it as Lumpus finally noticed Lazlo was blocking the door to the cabin.
"What is that noise?...Lazlo?" Edward asked curiously as the three were glaring him down. Lazlo figured out that Fluffy did not like Scoutmaster yelling at the Monkey, gesturing for everybody to calm down and discuss this reasonably.
"Reasonable, nothing about YOU is reasonable. in your first day here, you break several rules, fling Patsy with your slingshot and leave the Campgrounds?" Edward added as Lumpus shushed the Platypus, saying he'd handle things as Patsy zipped Edward's mouth shut and on cue he shut up.
Lumpus asked Lazlo what he was hiding in his cabin, looking at the Monkey, asking if he was harboring Nature in his camp. Lazlo thought for a few seconds, trying to think of a response as the three of them were waiting. something slammed against the door as Lumpus demanded Lazlo step aside before snapping his fingers. Patsy and Edward both grabbed one of the monkey's arms. moving him
"I'm Curious to see how many rules you have broken in ONE DAY" Lumpus chewed out, putting his hand on the knob to open the door. The door shot open as the three were sent flying on their backs as Fluffy roared, walking out of the camp, swinging his claws like angry beast.
Upon seeing the bear, Lumpus and the two scouts ran off as Fluffy gave chase after them. Lazlo tried to call him off as the animal chased the three around camp. The other campers seeing this were lured into the chase which ended with Them all boarding up in the Scoutmaster cabin.
Fluffy charged the door to the Scoutmaster Cabin as Lazlo pulled him back, getting his attention. Lazlo made it clear he understood Fluffy was angry but assured the bear that he was not hurt. Lazlo led Fluffy away from the Scoutmaster cabin. "We need to talk".
Inside Everyone was hunkered under Slinkman's bed as the Banana Slug was still laying down, reading a book, asking what was going on as Lumpus poked her head out, telling Slinkman that Lazlo had let a bear into camp. asking if it was still at there, he glanced at Patsy who stated she was not leaving the cabin with a bear on the loose, nominating Edward.
"I ain't going out there" Edward replied as Patsy knew how valuable Edward's ego was to him, clucking at the Platypus like a chicken. Gretchen laughed, commenting that Edward wasn't tough at all. Slinkman got up saying he would check. The Banana Slug walked downstairs, opening the door.
"Move aside Slugman" The Voice of Miss Mucus yelled bolting into the cabin, leading Jane and the rest of the scouts into the Scoutmaster Cabin, the warthog and scouts trampling over him.
So, in this timeline Patsy was the one who ratted Lazlo out to Lumpus. I still plan on using Edward as Lazlo's main Rival, but earlier chapters will focus on Patsy being a bigger antagonist than Edward.
