Hey! I'm officially on summer break now; so, that means I'll be posting on Tuesday and Friday! The chapters will still remain as long as usual so don't worry about that. Anyhow! I hope you enjoy this chapter, because I had lots of fun writing it! :) PS this is the same day as the last chapter took place. I was on my hands and knees, scrubbing the bathroom, when the doorbell rang. I stood quickly and pulled my comical yellow gloves off. I hustled out of the bathroom and down the stairs and to the front door. When I pulled it open I was greeted by Bella's slightly awkward smile.

"Hi, Miss Greene, is Lizzie here?" She asked, I smiled. She called me Miss Greene, how sweet. "You can just call me Sammy and yes, Lizzie's in here. She's just grabbing a few things. Would you like to come in?" I replied, Belle nodded and stepped inside as I pulled the door open further.

"I'll be right back." I said as I climbed the stairs. I walked down the hall and to Lizzie's brightly decorated room. I peered in and saw Lizzie shoving notebooks and pencils into her bag furiously.

"Hey Lizzie, Bella's here." I called, her head whipped toward me and she smiled. "Great! I'm ready to go!" She replied, flinging her large black and white polka dot backpack over her shoulder. She flicked her light off and I followed her down the hall.

Bella had been waiting awkwardly by the door when we got back downstairs, almost as if she didn't know what to do with herself. "Ready?" Bella asked as we approached. Lizzie nodded enthusiastically and the next second they were out the door.

Lizzie blew me a kiss as she walked down the path to Bella's very old red truck. I waved and pretended to catch her kiss before watching them drive off and shut the door, locking it behind me.

I bolted upstairs and threw my closet open. I had to be prepared for my date tomorrow and Being prepared meant choosing my entire outfit in advance.

I sifted through all of my clothes, I didn't really have a style. I just liked most stuff. Sam had said casual, but what kind of casual? Lounging in the house in sweatpants, definitely not. Running to the store in old jeans and a holey t-shirt, probably not. Going out to a red robin with family, maybe.

In the end, I chose my favorite pair of blue jeans, a fluffy light pink knit sweater that hugged my waist, my favorite dark brown fleece lined walking boots, and a jean jacket lined with sherpa. It was cute, practical, and simple. It was perfect.

I had just started folding and putting my clothes back when I heard the sound of something being knocked over. I jumped as Penelope started growling from where she laid on the bed, except now she was standing with her hackles up.

Instantly fear made my spine go ramrod straight. My heart picked up and I started to sweat. I crept silently over to my closet where I pulled out my metal baseball bat. I would have grabbed my gun but I had taken it apart to clean and had left it in the basement.

I silently commanded Penelope to get off the bed, letting her go in front of me as I crept out of my bedroom and quietly down the hall. I peered over the railing of the stairs, I couldn't see anyone.

I went down the stairs, as silently as possible, Penelope right beside me. I made it to the bottom and looked in the directions, my baseball bat held high. Penelope kept quietly growling, so I knew whoever made that sound was still here.

I made my way slowly into the living room, nothing was out of the ordinary except for an odd chill in the air. I held my bat high and crept into the kitchen, the light was off, making it hard to see.

I jumped when a flash of red appeared in my peripheral vision, Penelope lunged forward, I whipped to the right but there was nothing. ALmost as suddenly as Penelope had started growling, she stopped and the strange chill in the air disappeared. I felt relief flood my chest as my shoulders sagged and I lowered my bat.

I ruffled Penelope's furry head and leaned my baseball bat against the kitchen counter as I tried to calm my quick heart. I let out a sigh and pushed myself off the counter, I grabbed my baseball bat and went back upstairs.

I changed into my favorite set of pajamas, a matching short and tank top set. I hated it when pajama pants get twisted and wrapped around myself, so I always went with shorts, paired with an oversized t-shirt or tank top.

I went back downstairs and switched my TV on before changing it to my favorite show. I started cooking up some mac and Cheese while it played in the background. Lizzie said she was eating at Bella's so I wouldn't have to worry about making her dinner. While I waited for my water to boil, I fed the dog and cat.

Once I was done making dinner I served myself a bowl and sat down on the couch to finally pay attention to my show, Penelope climbed up beside me and snuggled into my side.

I ended up falling asleep on the couch, my empty bowl still in hand, and woke up to the sound of the door opening and closing. Penelope leapt off the couch and ran to the front door to greet Lizzie.

I pulled myself from the couch and placed my bowl on the coffee table before going to greet Lizzie myself. She looked very happy and it seemed like she had a pretty good time.

"Hey, how'd studying go?" I asked, as I kissed her on the cheek. She smiled and pecked me on the cheek as well. "Great! She really helped me with Algebra, I'd been having such a hard time." She chuckled, I smiled and ruffled her hair. "Nice, What'd you have for dinner?" I questioned as she kicked her shoes off and shoved them into the bin beside the door.

"She made this delicious pasta dish, oh my gosh it was so good! She even gave me the recipe, not that I can cook, but I thought you would really like it!" She exclaimed, setting her bag against the shoe cubby.

"Nice, you can stick it in one of the cook books, I'll make it sometime." I replied as we made our way into the living room. We sat down, Penelope jumping up in between us and continued our discussion.

We sat there for a few hours, chatting and watching TV before we both decided it was time to hit the hay. Lizzie hugged me goodnight and ran upstairs, her cat right on her heels. Carli had been hiding since Lizzie left and had always ignored me, she for some reason hated me with a passion. Maybe it was because I was more of a dog person, but who knows.

I turned the TV and set my bowl in the kitchen sink, before letting Penelope out to go potty. Once she had done her business I let her back in and headed upstairs. I started getting ready for bed, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, and washing my face before I plopped down on my bed and threw the covers over myself, Penelope jumped up and laid down at the end of the bed.

I flicked my lamp on and set my alarm for work the next before turning it off again and laying back in my bed. Almost at the exact time that I laid back rain started pounding on the roof and my window.

The wind whistled and you could faintly hear thunder in the distance with a few bright flashes every once in a while. The sounds quickly lulled me into a deep sleep.

I woke up with a start. Someone was screaming. No, not just someone, Lizzie. Lizzie was screaming. I sprung from bed and raced out of my bedroom. I threw Lizzie's door open to find a redheaded woman towering over Lizzie's bed, blood dripping from her chin. Lizzie lay lifeless on the bed, bleeding from a chunk of flesh missing from her throat.

A horror filled scream tore out of my throat, my chest heaved and my hands sweat. How could this have happened? How could I have not woken up?!

The woman advanced towards me, a vicious smile on her lips and a hungry look in her eye. But before she could even lay a bloody finger on me a massive wolf sprang from the shadows. It tackled the woman and bit into her arm, effectively ripping it off. Her arm gave way like a skater falling through the smooth ice of a lake. She roared in outrage before kicking the wolf off and wrapping her arm around its neck. The wolf whimpered in pain, she was going to break his neck! No!

I jumped forward, slamming myself into her body. But it was like hitting a wall, she didn't even flinch. I could hear the cracking in the wolf's neck, he whimpered high. He was scared.

The woman squeezed harder, the wolf screamed in pain. A loud 'CRACK' filled the room. The woman released the wolf and he fell to the ground in a limpless pile.

Anger. Fear. Sadness.

I felt all of those in the span of a second before I was on my knees beside the wolf. His eyes were dule now, no longer the deep blue eyes. My body shuddered as hatred filled my veins. How could this vile creature come and kill this beautiful animal? He was only trying to save me, and Lizzie.

Lizzie!

I sprung to my feet and I was at the bed in seconds, my face paled as I saw her eyes, dule just like the wolf's. I cried out as I cradled her paling face in my hands.

"No…Lizzie. Lizzie. Lizzie, no." I whispered, I said her name over, over, and over again. The woman stood in the corner, a wicked smile on her face and a happy glint in her eye.

She approached me and gripped my chin, her grip like steel and her skin like ice. I glared up at her defiantly. She wouldn't get away with this. She smiled once more before lunging forward and sinking her teeth into my neck.

I sat up with a strangled cry as my hand flew to my neck. No injury, no dead wolf, no dead Lizzie. I breathed out a sigh and flopped back onto my pillow. That was a horrible dream.

I glanced at the clock, six thirty it read. I climbed from bed and traipsed down the hall to Lizzie's room. I pushed her door open and smiled at her position, she was on her back, her right arm and leg hanging precariously off the bed. Her left arm was thrown over her eyes to block the little bit of light filtering in through the window and her left leg was chaotically wrapped in her quilt. Carli was curled into her side.

I strode in and gently patted her cheek, "Hey kid. Time to get up and get ready for the day." I whispered, she groaned and proceeded to throw her other arm over her face, as if that would stop me.

"Lizzie, stop being a bum and get up. It's Friday, that means you don't have a bedtime tonight and you can sleep in tomorrow. Now, get up." I said, raising my voice a bit louder. She peaked at me through her arms and smiled before sitting up and stretching.

I exited her room and trotted down the stairs, today was the day. Sam and I were going on a date! I had to contain my excitement otherwise I might overload Lizzie's delicate morning brain.

I poured myself a large cup of coffee and downed it in less than five minutes before running back upstairs to change into work clothes. Work clothes consisted of a sweater and old jeans. I braided my hair and brushed my teeth and when I made it downstairs again Lizzie was sitting at the kitchen counter eating cereal.

I poured my own bowl of flakes and milk and sat beside her, we ate in silence. Once we were done eating I put my bowl in the sink and let Penelope outside for her morning free time.

I pulled the leftover mac and cheese out of the fridge and placed it in my lunch box with a fork and ice pack. I threw my small lunch pack in my purse and let Penelope back in from where she was whining at the door.

Lizzie came back downstairs, this time dressed for the day in an anime t-shirt, ripped jeans, and her favorite black ankle boots. Her backpack was slung over her shoulder and her hair was up in a messy bun.

"Ready to go?" I asked as I scooped my purse up off the counter and made my way toward the front door. Lizzie nodded and pulled her heavy coat from the coat hanger. I grabbed my own jacket as well.

We had to run to the car to avoid getting drenched again but we laughed about it once we were in the car and safe from the offending weather. I drove Lizzie to school where she said goodbye in the car and then booked it for the main building. I watched until the door was completely shut behind her before driving off.

I arrived at work right on time and they let me do some embroidery after days of front desk work. I did the embroidery easily and then they had me stitching up holes in clothing until my lunch break and then after my lunch break until it was finally time to head home.

"Sammy? You headed out dear?" Mrs. Wright called from her office. I stopped as I went by her door. I turned back and pushed the door open. "Yeah, was there something you needed? I'd be happy to help." I responded, she smiled gently at me. "Such a sweet girl you are. No, I didn't want anything. I was just making sure you weren't doing too much work, you're too young to worry so much." She explained, I smiled as my heartwarmed. "Thank you, that's very kind of you to say." I said, Mrs. Wright was probably the most understanding person in the world. "I only speak the truth darling. Now, get outta here! Go pick your sister up from school. Have a wonderful weekend honey." She said, shooing me gently out of her office and down the hall.

I laughed as she pulled the door open and winked at me, "Good luck with that by tonight, honey. I better hear all about it on monday." She teased and before I could say anything she shut the door and closed the blinds. I smiled as I made my way to my car, she was far too kind to me.

I successfully drove to the high school and drove up next to Lizzie. She smiled at me from where she spoke with Bella and another boy. She bid them farewell and pulled the car door open.

"Hey! Ya ready for your date?!" She squealed as she sat down. I laughed and ruffled her hair, "As a matter-of-fact I am. I am very ready." I teased, she giggled as I pulled out onto the main road.

We were half way home, the music was blaring on the radio and Lizzie was making a terrible attempt to sing along. Everything was perfect. Until a giant wolf launched itself onto the road in front of my car.

I slammed on the brakes and came to a halt only a few feet from the towering beast. The same towering beast from my dream. His blue eyes bored directly into my own, a shiver ran down my spine. The wolf looked away and leapt back into the brush.

I let out a deep breath and leaned my head back against the headrest. I looked over to Lizzie, she was staring at where the wolf had disappeared.

"That was close." I breathed, Lizzie nodded silently. We continued the drive home in complete silence.

When we got home I ran upstairs to take a shower for my date tonight. I turned the heat dial to scolding and stripped it down to nothing. The shower relaxed my shot nerves and eased the tension in my muscles. I took my time washing my hair and body, I also did a very meticulous shave everywhere.

After what felt like forever I finally shut the water off and climbed out of the shower. I wrapped myself in a towel and then my hair in another towel before walking into my bedroom and pulling my clothes out. I laid them out delicately on the bed before heading back into the bathroom and blow drying my hair.

Once my hair was completely dry I dressed and went to go find Lizzie. She was lounging in her bedroom with her cat on her lap.

"Lizzie? Would you mind helping me with my hair and make up? You're so good at it." I asked, Lizzie looked up from her book with an evil smirk. "I would love to help." She replied before gently booting her cat off her lap and following me into my bedroom.

She sat me down on my desk chair and began the very long process of curling my hair. By the time she was done the curling iron was practically bright red and we had gone through half a bottle of hairspray but I had beautiful golden curls cascading down my back and over my shoulders.

But my sister was not done. She then started on my makeup. She was doing a soft look, apparently that was what looked best with my face shape. I waited patiently and obediently until she finally said she was done and when I looked in the mirror, she was right. Soft makeup looks did look good on me, I looked wonderful.

"Oh! Thank you!" I exclaimed, pulling her into a very tight hug. SHe hugged me back just as fiercely. I pulled my shoes and jacket on before heading downstairs. I glanced at the clock on the stove, it was four fifty. Just ten minutes.

I waited in the kitchen, and after a few minutes Lizzie joined me. She started talking but it was lost to me. Lizzie already knew I wasn't paying attention, she was just trying to make me stop worrying.

I jumped when the doorbell finally rang and practically sprinted to the door. I unlocked it, fumbling with the knob and ripped the door open. Sam smiled at me and instantly any worries evaporated.

I stepped aside and let him come in. I closed the door and turned back to him. He held out a bouquet of roses and Irises. How did he know my favorite flower? My cheeks felt aflame as I gently took the flowers and smelt them.

"They're beautiful, thank you." I whispered, I walked into the kitchen where I pulled a flower vase out from under the sink and filled it with water before placing the flowers gently inside. I sat them directly in the middle of the peninsula where I could truly admire them.

I turned back to Sam and smiled, "They're beautiful, I don't think I can say it enough." I said, he smiled and brushed a stray hair out of my face. "I'm happy you like them." Sam replied. I made him happy!

I said goodbye to Lizzie before Sam ushered me out into the rain and grabbed the umbrella leaned against the house. We still ran to the car though.

Just as we climbed into the car the reign stopped, almost as if we flipped a switch. I couldn't help the amused smile and I watched the clouds drift and slowly start to break apart. I might get to see the first sunshine of Forks soon.

I had no clue where Sam was taking me but he had my utmost trust. We chatted back and forth as he drove. He asked me how my work day had been and I asked him about his. Finally after twenty five minutes of driving Sam pulled off to the side of the road.

There was a large sign saying, "The SunShine view trailhead". So he was taking me on a hike? I honestly liked the idea.

I climbed out of the car and followed Sam around to the back of the car, he opened the trunk and pulled out a picnic basket. A literal picnic basket. It was cute. We were going to have a picnic at, what I assumed was, the view point at the end of the trail.

"I hope you like hiking, I noticed you had pictures up in your house of you hiking with another girl…so I thought…" Sam trailed off, unsure. I beamed at him. "Yes! I love hiking! Idaho has some truly incredible trails!" I exclaimed, my excitement bleeding into my voice. Sam let out a relieved smile and headed towards the head of the trail. The sign said the trail was only one and a half miles long, easy.

The whole hike we chatted and asked questions. Sam's favorite color was blue, my favorite color was turquoise. Sam didn't have any pets; I had two. Sam's favorite food was his mother's homemade lasagna, my favorite food was biscuits and gravy. Sam preferred movies over TV shows; I preferred TV shows over movies. Sam worked for a construction company; I, of course, worked for Mrs. Wrights boutique.

By the time we finally reached the top, we knew everything about each other. Sam's biggest pet peeve was when people cut up spaghetti, mine was when people had bad spelling and grammar.

When we broke through the brush and officially made it to the top the sun was shining brightly above us. It wasn't remotely warm but just feeling the sun on my face was…incredible. Like I was being rejuvenated.

I turned to Sam with a big goofy grin, he broke out laughing and pulled a blanket from the picnic basket, which he laid down carefully on the flat rocks.

Sam sat down, I joined him as he pulled food out. He had brought a jug of sparkling water, brie cheese, bread, fruit, and crackers. And for dessert he had brought along my favorite dessert, German cake. Once again, how did he know that?

We ate in a happy and comfortable silence, I was glad for the silence. If I tried talking with food in my mouth I always ended up spitting it everywhere, plus my mama taught me to chew with my mouth closed.

By the time we were done eating, I had drifted closer to Sam. I was now leaning against his side, soaking up his radiating warmth. He, at some point, had wrapped his arm around my waist and rested his chin on top of my head.

Sam smelled so nice. Like moss, a unique earthy smell, and the unmistakable scent of douglas firs. I snuggled closer as Sam handed me a piece of cake, once again we ate in silence.

When we were finally done eating I helped put all the dishes back into the picnic basket but we sat down again and snuggled. It felt so incredibly right to be so close to him. It was like a piece of me was missing and he was that piece.

We watched the sunset slowly over the horizon, until only half of it remained. I turned to look up at Sam, expecting him to be watching the sun go down, but his gaze was trained on me. He looked at me with the strangest glint in his eye. Like he would do anything for me.

I leaned up just a little closer until our noses were almost touching and I waited. I waited for what he would do; what he would decide. Until finally his searching eyes found what they wanted.

He leaned forward, closing the distance between us. His lips pressed against mine so gently, almost as if he was afraid he was going to break me. But I wasn't that breakable and I deepened the kiss.

His hands came up to thread in my hair, my own hands tangled in his shirt. This was…perfect. Like everything in the world made sense now, everything bad wasn't there anymore. All the horribleness in the world melted away and only left us, sitting on a cliff kissing, the setting sun being the only witness.

I didn't want to pull away but my lungs were screaming for air, so I pulled away. He stared at me with so much passion that I didn't even notice how ragged our breaths had become.

I lurched forward and threw my arms around him, burying my face in the crook of my neck.

"Thank you. This was such a wonderful date." I whispered into his shoulder, Sam's hand came up to cradle the small of my back. "Are-Are you crying?" He whispered in return, I chuckled wetly. "They're happy tears!" I exclaimed in defense. He laughed, the most perfect sound in the entire universe, and I couldn't help but join in and we continued laughing until our sides ached and our lungs burned from air once again.

I peaked from out of his shoulder and saw the sun was almost gone, I sighed and pulled away from him.

"We should probably get going." I said, standing and popping my back with a wince. Sam nodded in agreement before standing as well and pulling the blanket off the ground and shaking it out. He folded it up and shoved it back into the picnic basket.

I smiled like a maniac the whole way down the trail and the whole car ride home, although during the car ride it was interrupted due to conversation. When we finally pulled up to my house much too quickly I felt sadness settle in the bottom of my stomach.

Sam walked me to the door, "Did you have fun?" He asked, I nodded enthusiastically. "It was the best evening of my life, by far. Thank you." I assured him. He smiled, his eyes flicking down to my lips in a silent question.

This time I leaned forward and didn't wait for Sam to close the distance. Are lips met in a passionate kiss, his hands once again coming to tangle in my hair. I slung my arms over his shoulder and deepened the kiss even more. He sighed against my lips and pulled away.

"You are incredible." He whispered, resting his forehead against my own. I smiled gently at him, caressing the side of his face. "So are you." I breathed, pulling away.

I turned and unlocked the door before turning the handle and pushing it open but right before I went to step inside I turned quickly and pecked him on the lips one more time.

"Thank you, Sam. I had a wonderful night, call me tomorrow!" I said as I stepped inside, I blew him a kiss and shut the door behind me. I slumped against the door, debating if I should just invite him to stay the night. No, atleast get past the first date.

I locked the door behind me and trudged upstairs, Lizzie's light was off which meant she had gone to bed. But there was a note on my door, "You're telling me everything in the morning. Night." in Lizzie's hand writing.

I pulled the note down and pushed my door open. I brushed my hair and teeth before finally pulling on comfy Pj's and falling onto my bed. Penelope pushed the door to my room open and moessied on in. She jumped up onto the bed and laid down.

I slipped under the covers and switched my lamp off. Sleep kidnapped me instantly. I only dreamt about Sam.
