Hi! Welcome back! I wrote this chapter WAAAY in advance because I was just so excited. I'm sorry I posted this later than usual. I got surprised with a puppy yesterday and I kinda got sidetracked lol! A lot happens in this chapter so be prepared! Hope you enjoy. :)

When I woke up in the morning I realized I hadn't had a single nightmare, I had only dreamt about Sam.

I pull myself from bed and trudge downstairs to make myself a cup of coffee, before settling down with a blanket on the sofa and turning on the TV to the local news.

There is nothing interesting on the news, just the weatherman talking about the unending rain and freezing temperatures. I was told it got warmer in the summer, a much more bearable temperature. I was used to the cold, Idaho's winter had an average temperature of below freezing during the winter months.

I sat there, drinking my coffee until I heard the stairs creak and the familiar meowing of Lizzie's cat. I looked over the back of the sofa to see Lizzie walking into the living room still half asleep.

She smiled at me as she sat down next to me and stole the other half of my blanket. Carli jumped up and burrowed underneath the blankets between Lizzie's legs.

"So, spill the tea. What happened last night?" Lizzie questioned. I chuckled and looked up at the ceiling. "Ugh. I don't even know how to explain it! It was so…so…so perfect! It was beautiful and Sam was so sweet. We had a picnic on a lookout and we watched the sunset. We kissed! It was…so incredible." I babbled. Lizzie stared at me, a smile spreading across her face, as if I had told her some super-top-secret-information.

"Did you kiss him or did he kiss you?" She demanded.

"Well, I leaned in but stopped, y'know just to give him an option, but he's the one that closed the distance and kissed me." I whispered in complete awe. Lizzie giggled like a maniac and threw her head back against the couch.

"Alright, nosey. What do you want for breakfast?" I questioned as I poked her in the ribs. "Hmm, pancakes! With chocolate chips?" She offered, I smirked and stood. "Coming right up your excellency." I said with a large over exaggerated flourish.

It only took a few minutes to whip the batter up and add chocolate chips and then I was heating the pan and pouring it in perfect circles. As the pancakes cooked, I pulled out plates, syrup, powdered sugar, and peanut butter. When we had pancakes we didn't have healthy pancakes.

I served the first two pancakes and called for Lizzie, she was in the kitchen faster than I could actually get all the words out. She plopped down in one of our bar chairs and smeared peanut butter all over her pancakes before adding powdered sugar.

I finished making my own and added just syrup before settling down next to Lizzie and eating my delicious pancakes. I had made an extra pancake in the beginning and let it cool completely so I could tear a few small pieces from it and feed it to Penelope, who was right beside me begging for food.

I tossed her a few bits before resuming eating my own.

When we were done eating, I tasked Lizzie with loading the dishwasher while I went upstairs and got ready for the day, not that I was planning on really going anywhere today.

For the rest of the day we sat on the couch and watched the Harry Potter movies. It was around one when my phone started ringing. I reached for it on the coffee table and smiled, it was Sam.

I stood and made my way into the kitchen before answering the phone, "Hey, Sam."

"Hey, I just wanted to call and make sure you're having a nice day." SA explained, I smiled and twirled my hair around my finger. "I'm having a wonderful day, thank you. What about you? How has your day been?" I asked, Sam sighed into the phone. "I'm gonna be honest, very busy." He replied with a chuckle.

"Aw I'm sorry. You sound tired." I mused, I could almost imagine him smiling on the other end of the line. "Just a little." He admitted, I frowned. "You should take care of yourself." I warned.

"I am. I promise." He assured me, I glanced to the floor and then up again. "Alright. I'll believe you, for now." I teased, Sam chuckled. "Do you want to come over for dinner?" I asked him. "That sounds wonderful, what's on the menu?" He questioned, I thought for a moment. "Chicken and dumpling casserole." I announced.

"Sounds delicious, I can't wait." He breathed, I smiled. "See you around five?" I asked, Sam hummed. "Yeah, that sounds great-" Sam's voice paused for a moment, almost as if he was listening to something. "-I have to go now but I'll be over later tonight. Be safe." He explained, I leaned against the kitchen counter. "See you later tonight, you be safe." I said, I heard him chuckle before the phone clicked and the line went dead.

I set my phone on the counter and buried my head in my hands with a giggle. God, it was like I went back in time to middle school. Sam was already everything to me, I wouldn't know what to be without him. I didn't know if I could survive without him.

I pulled myself off the counter and pulled the fridge open, we already had thawed chicken out and it was plenty for chicken and dumpling casserole.

Later that evening dinner was almost done cooking when someone knocked on the door. Lizzie hoped out of the stool she had been sitting in and made her way to the door while I checked the food once more.

Sam and Lizzie entered the kitchen just as I set the casserole on the trivets. It still needed to cool but only for a little while and then I could serve it. I pulled my oven mitts off and threw them on the counter before I walked up and kissed Sam on the cheek.

"Hi." I greeted, he smiled down at me. "Hi." He parroted, kissing me on the top of my head. "Do you want anything to drink?" I asked, Sam nodded. "Water, please." He asked, I nodded and went to pull a cup from the cabinet.

I pulled our filtered water jug out of the fridge, "Would you like ice?" I asked, turning toward him. Sam shook his head. "No thank you."

As I poured his water and added ice, Sam struck up a conversation with Lizzie. "So, how's school going?" He asked, Lizzie looked over at him. "As good as it can be. I'm a year ahead in school so all the other kids in my classes are a year or two older than me. It makes it hard to make friends. But I did make one. Her name is Bella. She's really smart, she helped me with math a few days ago." Lizzie explained, Sam nodded along. "How have you been liking Forks?" Sam questioned.

I set his cup in front of him and he smiled in thanks.

"It's nice, the people are very helpful. I heard it doesn't get quite as much snow as Idaho does but at least I'll get one thing from home." She explained, Sam nodded. Lizzie loved the snow, she lived for snow. It was probably her favorite thing other than History.

I listened to Sam and Lizzie talk, occasionally offering my own input, until the timer went off and I could serve dinner. I pulled out plates and silverware and asked how much Sam wanted. He ended up with a large helping but there was plenty to go around.

We ate and talked amongst ourselves and then we all had some ice cream for dessert and Sam helped me clean the kitchen. While I was loading the dishwasher and after Lizzie had gone upstairs to change into pajamas, I turned to Sam and asked.

"Do you want to stay and watch a movie with us?" I asked, I knew it was selfish but I wanted to be closer to him. I needed to get some physical cuddling in or I was going to lose my mind. Sam smiled and came forward to wrap his arms around my waist.

"I would love to stay and watch a movie. Actually there is nothing I would enjoy more." He said and he leaned down to capture my lips. I smiled into the kiss and we only pulled apart when Lizzie appeared in the kitchen doorway.

"You guys are so cute!" She giggled before turning and walking into the living room. Sam and I laughed together for a moment before I finally got to finishing loading the dishwasher.

Once the kitchen was completely clean, I ran upstairs to change into pajamas while Lizzie and Sam picked a movie. Instead of putting on my usual PJ's I decided to go with my silk set, a pair of long light blue pajama pants and a button up top.

I made my way downstairs and saw Sam and Lizzie making popcorn in the kitchen. They were talking as the popcorn popped loudly in the microwave. Sam smiled as I entered the kitchen, Lizzie winked at me, noticing the nice pajamas I usually only wore when we went places.

I pulled out a bowel from the cabinet and helped Lizzie pour the contents of the bag into the bowel.

Once we were all settled in the livingroom and pressed the play button for the movie to start. I snuggled against Sam's side and let out a content happy sigh. Sam was at the end of the couch, me snuggled into his side and Lizzie was on the other end of the couch with Penelope and Carli.

Sam had attempted to pet Carli, only for her to hiss and swipe at him. Penelope on the other hand adored Sam, when I let Penelope out of the office to meet him she had been all over poor Sam. He didn't seem to mind though, he accepted her kisses with gratitude.

I was grateful that I got to snuggle Sam, honestly I wasn't sure if Penelope was going to steal my spot before I got there but Lizzie had restrained the big dog and forced her to cuddle, so I could get my own Sam time without the interruption of her slobbery tongue.

About half way through the movie Sam's phone rang, he stood and walked into the kitchen for a moment before coming back in with a guilty look on his face.

"I'm sorry, but there's been a…work emergency and I have to go." He explained, I stood and walked over to him. "It's alright, I don't mind." I reassured him, Sam cupped my face and kissed me gently on the forehead.

"You're sure?" He questioned, searching my eyes for any doubt. But there was none, I was perfectly happy. "Yes, I am one hundred percent sure." I stated, he smiled sheepishly. I walked over to the coat rack and pulled his jacket down before helping him put it on.

"I hope you have a wonderful night, be safe." I said, following him to the front door. He unlocked and pulled the door open. But he paused and leaned back to kiss me goodbye. "I hope you have a wonderful night." He parroted before stepping out the door and running out in the pouring rain to his car.

He jumped into his car but he didn't start it. He jumped back out and ran back up my driveway and stopped in front of me, soaking wet. He pulled me outside, still under the cover of the overhangs and closed the door behind me.

"I just wanted to ask…" He stopped, thinking about something.

"Do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asked, I blinked at him, dumbfounded.

What did he just say? He wants me to be his girlfriend?

"I mean…I would love to but are you sure you want to be my boyfriend?" I questioned, Sam smiled with a chuckle. "I know I want to be your boyfriend. There is no doubt in my mind. I just need you to say yes." Sam stated, he inched closer to me but didn't touch me, maybe he was afraid of getting me wet.

"Yes. I want to be your girlfriend." I had to practically yell it over the now booming thunder and pounding rain. Sam's smile widened ten fold and finally his hands cupped my cheeks gently. He leaned down and kissed me.

In that moment the whole world melted away and it was only Sam and I left. He was the only thing that mattered in that moment, the only thing that had broken down my walls and had stayed there. I wasn't going to let him go anywhere, anytime soon.

Sam finally pulled away and swiped some hair out of my face. He kissed me again on the forehead and said goodbye.

"I'm calling you tomorrow!"

That was the only thing I could get out before he was gone, in his car and driving down the street. I pressed my finger tips onto my lips as a small giggle escaped me.

I opened the door and went inside to tell Lizzie what had just transpired.

Life in Forks was…incredible. Absolutely incredible. No real worries, no fear of my father. It was like a veteran getting home from war to find nothing but peace.

Lizzie and I had only been in Forks for a few weeks now and everyone already knew us. Everyone was very kind and somehow people had found out about our father, how? I didn't know. But such is life in a small town.

Lizzie had made a few more friends at school but she mostly hung around Bella, who was at our house four or five times a week. I didn't mind her company, she was a very sweet and well mannered girl. She also got along with Lizzie exceptionally well. Bella had actually started coming to me with questions and problems and I didn't mind helping her at all.

I had run into Charlie, her father, at the grocery store. He had approached me, even though he seemed more of a shy type. But he struck up a conversation and thanked me for giving Bella support and how he just adored Lizzie and how well mannered she was. It truly warmed my heart knowing that I was supporting Bella enough that her own father noticed.

Charlie had explained to me that he didn't really understand teenage girls entirely well and that I had helped him quite a bit.

"I'm glad she's doing okay, Lizzie told me she was going through a rough patch." I told him, he nodded. "She broke up with her boyfriend, really messed her up." He explained. I could relate to that, if I lost Sam… Charlie and I talked a bit more before he and I went our separate ways.

It was only a few days after talking with Charlie that Bella called me from her house.

"Sammy? Hey, I was wondering if you would give me a ride to La Push? You said you wouldn't mind driving me places if my truck broke down. And well…it did. Lizzie said she could fix it but she hasn't gotten to it yet…" Bella said trailing off at the end.

"Of course. I'll swing by and pick you up. I'll be there in about ten minutes, okay?" I said, Bella thanked me and hung up and I went to grab my keys and purse.

Lizzie was at her work, an auto shop. She had been studying cars and had sent in a resume and had been accepted. Bella had told her that she could fix her truck whenever it had any problems and apparently it was having problems and Lizzie had yet to fix it.

It was only a ten minute drive to Bella's house, I knew the way because I had dropped off Lizzie multiple times there. Bella was waiting for me outside when I arrived. She bound down her front steps, through the rain and jumped into my car.

"Pretty wet today, huh?" I said as she buckled and I drove down the street. Bella nodded and turned to me with a shy smile. "Thank you for driving me, it's just my friend had been ignoring me and I'm worried because his dad said he was sick and I just have to make sure he's alright and if he's just ignoring me because he can I'm going to strangle him into next ye-" SHe cut herself off and cleared her throat.

"It's alright honey, you don't have to explain yourself to me. I'm happy to give you a ride." I reassured her, Bella nodded in thanks and we made the rest of the twenty five minute drive in silence. Until Bella gave me directions to get to her friend's house.

I pulled up next to the house and turned to Bella, "Alright, we're here. DO you want me to wait here for you?" I asked, Bella nodded. "Yeah, if that's alright." She replied, I nodded. "I wouldn't have offered it if it wasn't. Alright, go see your friend." I said, shooing her from the car.

I watched as she went up the front porch and knocked on the door, someone opened it, although I couldn't see them. She spoke with the person before she shoved her way inside and the door closed behind her.

She came out only a few minutes later and started speed walking across the large field in front of their house. I sat up to get a better look at who she was approaching when I finally spotted them.

It was a group of shirtless boys, and Sam. He was shirtless too and my my-

I shook my head and trained my eyes on Bella who shoved Sam in the chest as she arrived in front of them. She started yelling at them, setting alarm bells off in my brain. Why was Bella yelling at Sam and those boys?

Bella turns to another boy and starts yelling at him. I started taking off my seatbelt, I had to go calm her down. Bella slapped the boy and instantly the other boys tense, while Sam tries desperately to calm Bella and the boy down.

I was out of the car and trotting towards Bella when the boy goes red and starts hyperventilating. In an instant faster than I can comprehend the boy explodes and a giant silver wolf appears.

I sprint towards Bella and grab her arm in a death grip and start hauling her back to the car. I lock eyes with Sam for only a second but I can see the panic in his eyes. But I ignore him, only focusing on getting Bella to safety and away from the giant wolf that's growling and snarling at us.

Another boy yells for Bella and I turn my head to notice him only twenty feet away, how had I not noticed him before? To my horror this boy leaped over us and also exploded into a giant wolf, this one a brown russet color.

Bella and I tripped and fell on our butts, I desperately gripped her arm and tried to drag us backwards. The two wolves snarled and barked at each other until they started fighting. They slammed each other into the dirt, causing the ground to shake with every impact before they tumbled away, smashing a boat and disappearing into the woods.

Bella and I just sat there in shock? I honestly didn't know what I was feeling at the moment.

Sam came running to my side and was on his knees, desperately checking me over for any injuries. "Are you okay?" Sam asked, worry dripping from his deep voice. I look up at him and nod shakily, "I'm okay…what-what was that?" I questioned, Sam sighed and rested his forehead against mine. "That was a thorn in my side. I promise I'll explain everything to you but right now I have to go stop those two idiots before one of them gets seriously hurt." Sam explained.

I snatched his arm, "No! What if they hurt you? I don't want you to go-I'm-I'm scared." I whispered, I really was. Sam pulled me to my feet and cupped my face. "I promise I'll be alright. Don't be scared, Jared and Embry will take care of you until I come back, alright?" He said, searching my eyes. I nodded miserably, "Yeah, be safe please." I whispered as he pulled away and walked over to the two boys. "Take them to my mothers house. Best behavior." he said, a slightly warning tone in his voice.

"Yessir, right away sir." The two teased, but SAm shot them a warning glare before taking off in the direction the two wolves had gone.

The boys, Jared and Embry, helped Bella and I to my car, we had wobbly legs after such a fiasco. Honestly if I'd have known this is how my day would have turned out beforehand, I would not have driven Bella to La Push.

I let Jared drive and was completely fine with being in the passenger seat as Bella and Embry climbed into the back.

"So…what was that all about?" I asked, turning to Jared. Jared looked at me for a moment. "Well I guess the wolfs out of the bag. We're werewolves but that's all I'm going to say I'll let Sam explain it all to you." Jared stated, I blinked at him. "Sam-Sam is a werewolf too?" I prodded, Jared glanced at me. "Look, Sam said he'd explain everything to you and he will." He insisted, I rolled my eyes and glanced back at Bella. She looked a little shell shocked.

When we arrived at Allison's house I had been running what had just happened through my head over and over and over again. Out of everything, they had to be freakin' werewolves?

Allison greeted us on the porch and guided me into the house, the boys sat down at her table and started eating the muffins she had made. She sat me on the couch and plopped down next to me.

"This is not how Sam wanted to tell you." She stated, I stared at her for a moment. "Oh, and how do you suppose he planned to tell me? With roses and a card saying, 'Honey, I'm a werewolf.' because that seems a little weird." I commented sarcastically, I expected Allison to be offended but she only laughed. "My, Sam said you had a fire in you but you were just so sweet the night you came for dinner that I didn't believe him." She chuckled as she gently petted my head.

"How long have you known?" I asked, she smiled and looked up at the ceiling as if she was trying to remember. "Hm, since the day he first transformed. He was all alone and very angry. He didn't have anyone to guide him through it, but he pulled it together and stuck it out. Now he helps the other boys when they transform for the first time." Allison explained.

I didn't know anything really about a werewolves transformation but being alone through it must have been hard. Sam had gone through it all alone with know one to help him.

I sat there talking with Allison, about completely normal things, like the weather and how work was going until I heard the front door open and close and the sound of multiple peoples footsteps.

I was instantly on my feet the second Sam rounded the corner. I was by him in a second flat. Embry whistled, "I don't think I've ever seen someone normal move so fast. Are you sure she wasn't the one who imprinted Sam?" Embry jokes, but Sam glared at him.

I looked up at Sam, "Imprinting? What's that?" I asked, Sam glared at Embry, who in return shrank away and practically hid behind Jared.

"I'll explain it to you later. But as of right now, let's go outside." He said, gently caressing the sides of my arm. "Why don't you have a shirt on?" I questioned as he led me down the hallway, I heard a few chuckles from the boys. "You saw what happened to Jacobs and Pauls clothes when they fazed didn't you?" He asked, pulling the front door open.

Their clothes had been shredded to bits.

"Oh."

We walked outside and Sam sat me down on a beach by the side of his house. We sat there for a minute in silence, I was pretty sure Sam was trying to figure out what to say.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you before." He said, breaking the silence. I stared at the tree line for a moment. "I gotta say, I know every relationship has its secrets but this might be a little different." I joked, a nervous laugh escaping my throat.

Sam smiled and laughed without humor. "Yeah, I'm going to give you two options. One, you can say that you never want to see or hear from me again or two, I'll tell you all about…this." He stated, I whipped my head towards him.

"Two. I'll never leave you Sam. No matter what, not even if you do turn into a giant dog!" I exclaimed, I was angry now. "How could you think that? How could you think that I would never want to see or hear from you again?!" I was practically yelling now, Sam looked alarmed and grabbed my shoulder.

"Sammy, calm down. I won't leave you, okay. I promise." Sam said, cupping my face. I let out a sigh, now that that was out of the way.

"Now, you have to explain all of this. Why do you turn into a wolf? How? What does your wolf look like? Are you as big as the others or bigger?" The questions spewed out in a tidal wave that I could not stop. Sam laughed and kissed my forehead. "Well, my ancestors are descended from wolves. As for how our bodies change from human shape to wolf shape…I'm not exactly sure. The best answer for that would be magic. My wolf is black, with brown eyes. I'm bigger than all of my brothers except Jacob." He finished the last part with a large breath. I smiled, "Can I see your wolf?" I asked, Sam's eyebrows shot up.

"You want to see it? Why?" He questioned, I shrugged. "I want to know every part of you. And…turning into a wolf seems like a big thing." I explained, Sam smiled. "I'll show it to you another time, okay?" He questioned, I pouted but nodded. "Okay, but what do you eat? Is it true werewolves are mortal enemies to vampires, or is that a myth? Are vampires even real, I mean if you're real…" I trailed off as more questions flooded into my mind.

"We eat everything you eat. Vampires…are real and yes it's true, we're mortal enemies." Sam confirmed, I gaped at him in shock. "Vampires? Vampires are real?" I demanded, Sam nodded. "And they drink people's blood?" I asked, Sam nodded. "Yeah, most drink human blood but some, like the ones that live in Forks, are vegetarians and only drink animal blood." Sam explained, my eyes started to bug out of my head.

"There's vampires living in Forks?!" I shrieked, Sam nodded while shushing me. "Yes, be quiet. They're vegetarians and we have a treaty with them. If they don't cross onto our land then we'll let them live in peace. They've actually just moved a few months ago, so you don't need to worry."

My eyebrows furrowed together and I crossed my arms over my chest. I really hadn't been expecting all of this to happen when I agreed to take Bella here. I mean honestly, I was just trying to enjoy my day!

I turned to Sam and asked, "What is imprinting?" I asked, Sam frowned and dropped his head. "Are…you sure you want to know?" He questioned, I nodded. "Yes. I want to know."

"Everyone's lives revolve around something. When someone imprints the person they imprint on is what their whole world revolves around. It's like when you see her, it's not gravity holding you down, it's her." Sam whispered, I stared at him in shock. "Have any of you imprinted?" I asked.

Sam nodded, "Jared imprinted and…I have imprinted." He admitted sheepishly. Instantly I was frowning, "Who?" I demanded, Sam smiled and looked up at me. "You. I imprinted on you, I imprinted on you the day I set my eyes on you at the front desk." Same whispered.

My heart hammered wildly in my chest and my palms became sweaty. I was his imprint. Not some other girl. I honestly felt a little guilty about the jealousy that bloomed when I thought about Sam imprinting on another woman.

"I…I'm glad it was me. I wouldn't be able to live if you had imprinted on another woman." I said truthfully. Sam smiled, "I'd do anything for you, Samantha. I just want you to know." He whispered, resting his forehead against my own.

I smiled and rested one hand on his chest and the other on his shoulder. Sam grabbed my waist gently.

"I love you. I know we've only been together a few weeks. But I love you so much." I whispered, Sam's eyes sparkled in pure happiness. "I love you too. I love you so much. I would do anything for you. Just ask and I'll do it. I love you, I will always love you." Sam whispered, my eyes became wet and a tear slipped down my cheek.

"Why are you crying?" Sam exclaimed, I smiled and let out a wet laugh. "They're happy tears. I promise." I defended, Sam laughed and gently whipped my tears away. "Are you going to cry everytime you're happy?" Sam questioned, I snorted. "Probably."

"That's okay. I still love you." Sam stated, I giggled and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Good. Cause I still love you." I replied, I felt Sam's hands drift up and start to caress my sides. "Careful, I'm ticklish." I said, a small giggle escaping me.

Sam's smile widened into a wicked grin as his fingers dug further into my sides.

"No! Stop it! No!" I gasped in between laughs. Sam only continued his onslaught of tickle attack.

"Stop it!" I cried through my giggles.

"Never! Hahaha!"
