Time jump:

Olivia pulled into her driveway, placing the car in park she shut the engine off. She threw her head back, trying to calm herself, yet the feeling in her gut was refusing to leave her. Her heart wouldn't stop racing and her stomach had been acting up since the meeting. She had pulled over a few times when her gut threaten to throw her food back out. Now she needed to tell her son, of course not the whole truth. Just snips of it. Lies. That simply made her gut feel worse. What she was going to tell Noah was still a mystery to her. Before she got Noah, she was fine doing reckless things. Back then she just had to look out for herself. That was no longer the case.

Taking in a deep breath, she pushed all job-related out of her mind. She was home and it was all about Noah at the moment. The moment she walked into the house, she was met with a wonderful smell. Before she could say anything, her stomach growled. "I need to stop overdoing it." Walking into the kitchen she found Noah standing over the stove, stirring a pot, and the last person she wanted to see using her knife cutting her tomatoes.

Her smile was quickly replaced with a frown. Placing her purse a little too hard on the counter, Olivia glared at the intruder. "Brian."

"Olivia! Hey." Giving her his carefree smile, he moved to try and hug her. Olivia backed away, placing her hand on the butt of her gun. He knew the last thing she wanted was for him to touch her. Dropping his hands as quickly as they had come up, he returned to what he was doing. "Still mad I see?"

Olivia scoffed, this man was seriously an idiot. "Yeah and I'd say I have reason to be." Taking in a deep breath, she quickly calmed herself. Noah was still in the room. "What are you doing here? Last I remembered, you don't live here no more?"

"Noah called, asked I pick him up from school. He wanted to make you dinner and asked that I help." Ruffing Noah's hair he grinned. "Don't worry I wasn't going to stay. Just going to help with dinner and be on my way."

Olivia sighed. As much as she hated the man and wanted to shoot him, right where he stood, Noah still liked him. And going to jail for manslaughter was not in her life plan. "No, it's fine. Stay and eat, but I want you out after."

"Promise."

Olivia was true to her word, literally kicking him out after he had taken the last bite on his plate. Having him close did nothing, but give her goosebumps and not the good kind. She wondered if she had been going to a certain douche bag phase. Brian was never really her type, to begin with. She preferred them tall, dark, and handsome. They respect the woman they are with, but also demanding, aggressive, and alphas. A man that took control in the bedroom. Brian was never any of that. In the end, she was too much for him to handle, so he decided to screw some bimbo as the solution. From there Olivia simply told him to get out. He could still see Noah, but between them, it was over.

Once Olivia was sure he was gone, she walked back in locking the door behind her. Pulling Noah out of the kitchen, she pulled him to the couch. "We need to talk."

"Why are you so rude to him?" Noah asked, clearly showing his displeasure. "I know you two broke it off, but he did help raise me."

Olivia hadn't told him the real reason for their break up. She didn't want to ruin the image Noah had of the man. He saw him as a father figure after all. Instead, Olivia simply told him they needed a break and called it quits. "Look that's not important right now. I need to tell you something and I need you to hear me out."

Noah frowned, worried by her words. "Everything alright?" Olivia only spoke this seriously when something was wrong or he was in trouble.

"Yeah, yeah everything is fine. It's just…We-umm-caught a case today and this one is going to take me away for a while." She quickly stopped him from speaking." Before you freak out or say anything, I had no choice. I am the only one in the team with skills they need."

Noah studied her for a bit, processing what he just heard. "What do you mean you had no choice? More skills? Aren't the others going with you?" Olivia shook her head, causing the teen to freak out. "What?! You are going in solo?! What is this case? Are you going to be safe? Why are they se-"

Olivia pulled him into a tight hug effectively shutting him up. "Shh. Noah, it's fine, I will be safe." That was a lie, but Noah didn't need to know that. "The others can't be there physically with me, but I will be in contact with them daily. Amanda will be there as well, Elliot sometimes. I won't be completely alone sweetie. I will call you when I get a chance to do so. But the team will check on you daily. Fin and Melinda have offered to look out for you while I am gone."

Noah sniffed a little, wiping the tears away quickly. Noah was still panicky since the abduction. He was still scared of spending nights alone sometimes. "Where will you be at?"

"In Las Angeles." Olivia whispered.

"Mom, I don't want you to leave." Noah whispered.

Olivia smiled into his hair. "I know baby, but I promise it won't take long for me to complete this. First chance I get, I'll have you come to me for a visit." Lie.

Noah glanced up at her with wide watery eyes. "Really?"

Olivia chuckled, wiping the tears off his face. "Yes."

That night they spent watching movies and eating all the junk food they had. Noah knew he wouldn't see her tomorrow morning. He wouldn't make her say goodbye knowing it would hurt her. Yes, Olivia left many times, but never to the extent of having to ask teammates to look out for him. He was fine one or two days alone, but now…now he didn't know how long Olivia would be gone.

Once she was sure Noah have fallen asleep, she made her way towards her office. Serving herself a glass of red wine, she turned on her music and sat at her desk. Pulling out her "file" she laid it open on the table. Olivia Ramirez – 30 read on the upper corner. It gave out her immediate information. She was born and raised in LA. Her parents moved from Mexico to LA three years before she was born. Has two deceased siblings, no immediate family in the states. Adoptive son. She served with New York PD, before studying to become a doctor. At the age of 25, she was removed from duty and proceeded to move back to LA, where she works and goes to school. Does nursing and caregiving on the side to earn money. Never married. "Damn, he couldn't give me at least one husband." Shutting the file, she finished her wine and shut the music off. Tomorrow was the beginning of her new life.

Next morning:

Olivia showed up at the station thirty after ten, which meant she had two hours left to arrive at the Barba's residency. She met with Dodds, where they went over the aspects of the case once more. By the time they were done, Craigen had arrived ready to get a move on.

Craigen drove her to the airport, where the others were waiting. "You ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be." Olivia mumbled.

The drive was somewhat tense. Neither wanting to speak. Not sure what to say. She was going in without backup or any protection whatsoever. All she had was her training and quick thinking. Craigen hated the idea of tossing her to the wolves, but she was the one they needed. Had he placed Amanda in her place, it would be much harder. Olivia can blend in with them.

Craigen sighed taking a left into the airport's runway. Shutting the car off, he turned towards her slightly. "You memorized the names?"

Olivia nodded. "Rafael Barba leader of Los Angelicos and head of his family. Wife was killed five years ago. Has three kids, Damon Barba oldest, Jack Barba middle child and youngest Allison Barba ."

"Good. What is your job?" Craigen hopped out of the truck, waiting for her to do the same.

"Get close to the family, learn and report. Become one of them if possible." Olivia felt like such a bitch right then and there. She hated those that pretended to be someone else and first chance they get to stab you in the back, they don't hesitate. And here she was planning on doing it to an entire family. Makes you wonder who's really the bad guy.

As they walked towards the plane, she was greeted by the rest of the team. The girls were quick to pull her into tight hugs. Fin had to pull Melinda off her at one point.

"We won't be far." Elliot whispered. He had made his thoughts known to Craigen after Olivia had gone home. He hated this. Hated it even more not being able to be there for her. "The moment you feel you need to get out, you let us know."

"I will." Giving him a quick hug, she turned to Amanda. "I'll see you soon."

"Yup, let us know the first chance you get that you're good to go." Amanda replied. "We will be setting up at the GTF headquarters in two days."

"Two days, got it." Olivia quickly turned towards Melinda. "Thank you for watching over Noah. He's still nowhere ready to stay alone."

Melinda waved it off. "Oh Olivia, You know I'd do anything for my godson. The hard part will be giving him back." Olivia chuckled, knowing very well that'd be a mission.

Craigen patted her on the shoulder, trying to give her some comfort. "You'll be fine, we have your back.

Olivia scoffed inwardly, 'Yeah sure.' Forcing a smile, she waved bye and climbed into the plane. This was the start of a new life for her. At least until they destroyed it.
