Warning: Illness
Rapunzel
"I'll go down and get supplies." Cassandra announces. She leaves. I go over to Mom. I stroke her head. She opens her eyes and shivers.
"You'll be okay," I coo. I grab her hand. She shivers. I stroke her head. She groans. Am I hurting her? I wonder. "Am I hurting you?".
"She just is in a lot of pain." Dad explains. Oh…
Cassandra comes back in. She is holding a bronze tray, a bronze bowl of water, a yellow cloth, a pink blanket, a glass of water, a white teacup and a bronze bowl of broth. She sets the supplies down on the white nightstand. Mom wiggles in her bed.
"Shh," Dad cooes. She knows what the supplies are for.
Dad dips the cloth in the bowl of water and pats it on Mom's forehead. She wiggles and cries.
"Shh," Dad cooes. He sits her up by grabbing her back. Her head flops back. He grabs a white pillow and props her head up. He grabs the broth and places it to her lips. She sips from the bowl. Her eyes flutter. Dad lays her down.
What are we going to do? I wonder.
"What are we going to do?". Dad sighs.
"Try to keep her alive for as long as possible." He announces. Mom's head turns to us. She moans.
"You're going to be okay," I coo. I stroke her face.
Eugene, Mom, Cassandra, Dad, and I were in a room with red walls, floor, a gold table with a red tablecloth, gold chairs with red cushions, and a red brick fireplace. "Mom, Dad, why do you think Gothel kidnapped me?" I questioned. Mom and Dad looked at each other.
"When I was pregnant with you, I got very sick. I was very weak and I wasn't keeping food down. The guards went to find the Sundrop, a legendary healing flower. I drank it and we were healed. We think Gothel used the Sundrop to stay young." Mom told me.
"We could find another Sundrop!" I exclaim. Eugene's, Cassandra's, and Dad's faces light up.
"Yes!" Dad explains.
"Yeah!" Eugene and Cassandra explain. Dad stands up. Mom looks at him.
"Don't worry, Darling, you will be okay." He reassures her.
Later that night, I go into Mom's room. She's looking at the wall, probably bored. I go over to her, kneel, and take her hand.
"Mom, I am going to look for another Sundrop, I don't know how long I'll be gone. Please hold on, I don't know what I'll do without you." I plead. She looks at me. She blinks.
Eugene, Cassandra, and Dad come in.
"Rapunzel, it's time." Eugene announces.
"Okay, Mom, I am going to go now, please hang on.". She looks at me. She blinks. I stand. I lean over and kiss her forehead. She blinks. I take the cool cloth of her head, redip it in the water, and put it on her. I grab the bowl of broth and put it to her lips. She drinks a little. I set the broth back down. I dismiss myself on her shoulder.
Eugene and I walk down the red staircase. We walk through the pink hall to the white set of double doors. Eugene opens the doors and we walk out. We walk through a dull village. We walk across a marble bridge. We walk into an evergreen forest.
"We found the Sundrop on a cliff." Eugene tells me. I nod. We walk further into the forest.
