A/N: Three chapters within two days? I think this is the fastest I've ever written. I don't know when this burst of energy is going to run out, but i'm gonna ride this brain bug for all it's worth.

Special thanks: Eris, Neo, Crow, Laine, and You.

"Stay here for a moment, will you?" Luz asked Belos, trying her best to sound sincere and sweet. After the group left the room, Eda made sure to lock the door behind her. Once he was out of earshot… The group collectively descended into madness. The revelation that Belos had really lost his memories… They barely considered it a possibility, and yet it was the truth.

Amongst the chaos, was rampant speculation. "Do you think he purposely burned his memories for a fresh start?" Raine asked.

"I suppose it's not out of the question, but if he did, how did he get to Lake Lacuna?" Luz replied.

"What if… it's not actually Belos, but- a grimwalker? Or a… clone?" King shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't think so, Grimwalkers are only myths…I think…" Raine said, as they tapped their chin.

"Nope, all real. But- Grimwalkers have red eyes, and don't quite match the person they're replicating…They're like genetic clones." Luz also shrugged, not quite sure either.

"A pair of colored contacts ain't exactly out the question for Belos." Eda rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

Raine spoke next, changing the topic to a more pressing issue. "The bigger question, I think, is…What do we do with him?"

"I still vote we bring him to the Conformitorium." Eda crossed her arms. "I second that." grumbled Raine.

"Eda! Raine!" Luz scolded.

"What? It's Belos! You saw what he's done." Eda sassily put her hands on her hips. Raine uncomfortably grabbed their wrist, massaging the Bard's Coven sigil burnt on. Terrible memories of life as a Coven Head burning in the back of their throat.

"Well...What if we just tried…Talking to him?" Amity butted in. Her tone was soft, she wasn't sure of this idea, but- she wanted to at least give it a try.

Luz grimaced slightly, grabbing her awesome girlfriend's hand. "Are you sure, Brujita?"

Amity told the truth. "No… But, it's…Something in my gut is telling me it's the right thing to do. I know what he's done, but….He must be so scared, with no memory. Two witches he doesn't know kidnapped him and are now holding him hostage…"

Eda shrugged. "I've done worse." To which, the entire group rolled their eyes. They didn't doubt it, though.

"I don't know what's going to happen, but, I want to at least try. Maybe….Maybe with a clean slate, he'll turn over a new leaf." said Amity.

"Oh, Amity…I love your optimism!" Luz chuckled. "I got it from you." Amity said, as she went in and gave a kiss right on her girlfriend's lips. "Just be careful, okay? I swear to god, if he hurts you…"

"I can defend myself." Amity smiled, as she stepped back and pulled up her shirt slightly - revealing the pouch of Abomination sludge tied around her waist. "Never leave home without it." A brief pause. "I mean…I changed for the better, right?"

At this, Luz grimaced. "But- Amity, you were only… You were only a mean girl because Odalia made you be."

"Maybe he had his own Odalia….Wait, he had a brother, right?" Amity put her hand on her girlfriend's shoulder. . "Gus saw Belos' memories on the day of unity, right? Why don't you go and give him a call, see if he might have any clues." Before, looking back over to Eda. "I'll scream for help if anything goes wrong- I know you'll be listening in, anyway."

To which, Eda shot back a finger-gun and chortled "You're a smart one."

"Te amo hasta la luna y más allá." Luz said to Amity, giving one last small smooch on the tip of her nose before walking off.

Amity unlocked the and walked inside, whereas Raine, Eda, and King pressed their ears up against the wooden door to try and hear as much of their conversation as they could.

The room was rather small. A shoebox, to be frank - with nothing of note besides a few storage boxes. Phillip had sat down, his back resting against the wall. His head was in his hands. He looked scared, He had the posture of an alleyway kitten.

"Hey…" Amity said, softly. At this, Belos flinched, squirming. "It's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you." She tried her hardest to sound soothing and convincing. "My name's Amity. What's yours?" she asked, a big old smile on her face, while she held her hand out for a shake.

Not letting his guard down, he cautiously stuck his hand out and shook hers'. "Caleb. Caleb Wittebane…" He whimpered, his voice low. "I think, at least." He finished, under his breath.

"You think?" She tried to pry..

He grabbed at his coat and pointed to a small patch on the inside lining. There were a duo of names written, but the top one was so faint it couldn't be read. Well, the one below it was only just barely better…But it seemed to read 'CALEB WITTEBANE.' "I can't actually…Remember. But, this name was written on the inside of the coat I was wearing…so it must be my name."

Amity paused for a moment, unsure if she should tell him the truth or not. That his name was Phillip, and Caleb was his long-gone brother, but… One step at a time. Don't overload him with information. She just sat down next to him, and looked him in the eyes. "You must have had one heck of a day, huh?"

"That is an understatement." He finally seemed to lighten up a bit, his face turned into a tiny bit of a smile.

"Do… you want to talk about it?" She tried her best to be supportive.

"I'm afraid you already know the entire situation. The first thing I remember is waking up in the woods…I don't know how I got there. As I reached the edge of the trees, I was spotted by those two people…They grabbed me, and took me back here." His face immediately soured once again.

"It's probably hard to believe- but, they genuinely mean well…" She tried to soothe him, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions." He grumbled. A lesson that he should really take to heart. "They kept calling me 'Belos.' They wouldn't believe me when I told them that they were mistaken." He looked over at Amity.

She took a deep breath. She had to make up something, quick, to hopefully cover for them. "Yea…I'm sorry that happened, but I can't blame them for not taking chances…Belos was a pretty notorious criminal a few years ago. He went missing, and- They were just scared he was back, you know?"

"Oh." Belos' face lightened slightly, to a sort of neutral smile. He'd fallen for it hook, line, and sinker. "I would ask… if they could let me go, but…"I have no idea where I would go. This room is hellish, but it's infinitely preferable to living in the woods."

Amity rubbed the side of her head. "I get it. I'll tell you what, I'll see what I can do to find you a place until you get back on your feet."

He took a deep breath, "I do appreciate the kindness you've shown me…But I must ask… Why have you been so kind?"

"Cuz I'm your friend, and what else are friends for?"

This answer made him smile. A genuine, warm smile.

Outside of the room, Eda, Kind, and Raine were trying their hardest to listen but….Well, it turned out they couldn't really hear much. King gently stepped back, and pulled on Eda's leg. "Hey, Eda. Do you think…We should tell Hunter?" He thought back to his parent, Papa Titan, and those feelings of abandonment. Even if it wasn't really their fault. "I mean, they are family."

"I don't think so, King. Family is something you choose…And from what he's said, Belos was no family of his." Eda grabbed her shoulders.

"I think we should tell him, and…well, let him decide if he wants to do anything with it." King sighed, nervously fidgeting.

In the other room, Luz and Gus were chatting over a Crystal Ball.

"Heyyyyy, Gus. You remember that time you saw the Emperor's memories, right?" Luz just went right for it.

"Uh, yeah, why?" Gus asked, suspiciously.

" So- Eda is doing, a, uh- is looking in to potentially doing a…A history of the emperor course, and you know more about him than anyone!" As opposed to her girlfriend, Luz was a terrible liar.

Gus absolutely did not buy it for a second, but- decided it wasn't worth pushing the issue. Besides, he had no more worthwhile information. "Oh… alright. Well, unfortunately, not really…It wasn't like I got his memories, it was more like a movie of his memories flashed before my eyes. It was so long ago I only really remember brass tacks…"

"Ah, darn, thanks Gus-bye!" She said, quickly hanging up.

"That was weird.." Gus reclined.

His boyfriend, Matt Tholomule, was sitting right next to him. Matt let out a small laugh, "I swear to god if it turns out the Emperor's back…"

This meant that Luz was officially the person who knew the most about Belos. Even more than…Belos himself.

Back with Amity and Phillip - The two stood up, with a newfound sense of vigor and confidence.

He stepped forward, walking to the door…until his foot slipped on a piece of paper.

"Bloody hell!" He groaned, as he fell flat on his face. His already deformed nose smashed against the floor. Thankfully it didn't break, but it did start absolutely pissing blood.

"You stay there, I'll go and get you a tissue." Amity took this excuse to leave. It wasn't until she was one foot out the door that she realized…He was bleeding. Blood. Not that…Green goo stuff. Wait…Blood! Not that…Green goo stuff…Did that mean…

He was a human?
