A/N: Well, that "Writer's Block" lasted an awful long time, didn't it? Haha! I was just having an off day. Once I got a solid idea for this chapter, I was off to the races. For next chapter, too.

I forgot to do my special thanks last time!

Special thanks: Eris, Neo, Crow, Laine, and viewers like You.

Amity, and her girlfriend Luz, popped their heads into Phillip's bedroom. He was hunched over his diary, pen in his left hand. illuminated by nothing but the sunlight streaming in. But, conspicuously, the second they walked in, he switched from writing with his left hand to his right. It was such a natural switch, it was like a reflex rather than something conscious.

After a moment, Luz stepped forward and asked "Hey, Phillip, how are ya feeling?"

"Fine, thank you." He replied, not even looking up.

"How're you adjusting? This all must be really difficult." Amity stepped in, putting a hand on his shoulder.

He took a deep breath. "I feel I am adjusting…Fine enough. Though I haven't exactly had much time to make an impact, have I?" He gave a small laugh, as he stood up. "I do want to make some sort of impact around here. I don't want to just bum off your kindness, Amity."

Amity immediately had an idea! An idea of how to put his, as Luz would put it, 'Wicked Smarts' to the test. "Well, if you want to make yourself useful…You could help out my dads."

"With what? Those guards seem to have the manor pretty wellkept." He raised a curious eyebrow.

"No, no, not like that. It's just that, they've been stuck on a problem for a little while…" She stepped back and shrugged.

"What is this problem?" He asked, intrigued.

"So, They're trying to undo the effects of a certain spelllll…." Her voice trailed off.

He grimaced slightly. "I don't know the first thing about the magic of this land."

"That's okay! We'll teach you! You want to know more about where you are, right? Otherwise you wouldn't have tried to sneak out." She teased, putting her hands on her hips.

"Darius told you about that, huh?" He said, his face returning to a gentle smile.

"I got an earful." She said with a chuckle.

"Yea, and you're like- wicked smart, dude, I'm sure you could crack the problem in NO time!" Luz stepped in. "We'll fill you in on what's going on, and what we've tried, and we'll leave you to your own devices."

"Tell you what, you stay here, and we'll start putting together a curriculum. But who to ask…I know Eda and Lilith are too busy…" Amity said, tapping at her chin. Trying to think of who could help them out… Someone who was kind, gentle, smart, and unbiased.

"Bump!" They both realized unanimously, and looked at each other. After all, He had nothing but free time after he'd retired from being Hexside's principal.

"Bump? Is that the person Eda got those memory tweezers from?" Phillip asked, a slight shade of shame in his voice.

"Yea, why?" Luz asked, concerned at where he was going with this…

"...Do you think you two could do me a favor?" He asked.

"What is it?" The girlfriends asked suspiciously.

"Can you…Introduce me to him? I found him rather dashing, and I wish to meet him." His cheeks turning a light shade of red.

This was not at all what they expected to hear. Him? Having a crush? On a guy? He had the capability to feel romance? Well… Good for him, they supposed.

"Uh-yeah, sure." Amity squeaked, after a minute. Before turning to her girlfriend, and whispering. "Hey, Luz, can you wait out in the hallway for a minute? I want to tell him something privately."

To which, Luz couldn't resist giving her girlfriend a small goodbye smooch, as she stepped out of the room. Making an excuse that "BRB, I gotta go to the bathroom!"

With this, Amity walked over to Phillip and spoke in a soft voice. "I just wanted to let you know, I delivered that letter to Hunter."

"Ah, good. Thank you." There was an awkward pause after he said that. "Did you read it, as well?" He asked, after taking a deep breath.

"What- No, no….Look, Hunter's my friend… But what you wrote for him is his business, not mine." She said, after taking a minute herself.

"I appreciate the trust you put in me." He smiled, a genuine warm smile.

"Well, so far, you haven't given me a reason to believe you're not genuine." This was a complete lie from Amity. She knew all about his behavior before he lost his memory. How smooth-talking he was, how good he was at manipulation. She was keeping her eyes out to make sure he wasn't trying to get away with anything. She finished off, with a stern "Don't give me one."

Phillip grimaced, but changed the subject. "May I ask you a question, Amity? Do you have any…Pictures of Caleb?" All of this talk of Hunter was making him think of his brother… There was so much about him that he didn't remember. Or, more, there was nothing he did remember. It was excruciating.

"No, but…I'll have Luz draw you one." She said, her neck tensing slightly. They did have a photo, kind of, but- it was of the statue in Gravesfield… There was no way he was ready for that.

"Draw me one?" He asked, confused.

"Yea, we have a couple like…Descriptions of what he looked like, right? So I'll have Luz draw what she thinks he might've looked like, see if that jogs your memory any." Amity said, taking this excuse to step out of the room. "I'll be back soon, don't cause any trouble."

She let out a sigh of relief as he was out of sight. Turning back to her Girlfriend and grabbing her hand for comfort, she

"Phillip wants you to draw what Caleb looked like." She grumbled, as they walked through the hallway.

"Okay, well- I could try, but…what about the statue- wait, no, that's in the human realm… and he doesn't know about humans yet! I told him my ears were a genetic defect…" Luz said, slapping her face, feeling like an idiot.

"You know, that reminds me, I wonder why his ears…They don't look like human ears or witch ears. They're short, and nubby…" Amity asked, tapping at her chin.

"Uh, he used to have round ears…He…Mutilated himself to better blend in with witches. At least that's what I think he did, I saw that memory back when I went into his mindscape." Luz looked down at the ground, shivering at the thought.

"Of course he did." Amity groaned, slapping her face. "Well, I don't think he's ready to learn about humans yet, For all he knows, he's a Witch. Speaking of…let's just tell him… he's old and his bile sac isn't functional anymore."

"Great idea!" Luz said, giving a thumbs up. "I say besides teaching him about magic, we should slowly introduce the idea of Emperor Belos, too, tell him about all the harm 'the emperor' caused."

Amity rubbed her chin. "I already told him Belos was the name of a great criminal, though, so he might figure out it was him too fast."

"Well, why don't we say his name was something different? Something like…" Luz thought for a moment. "Obron! Emperor Obron."

"Obron? Like one of the characters from Azura?" Amity let out a small giggle.

"Yup!" Luz teased, nudging her girlfriend.

The two walked downstairs and got Bump on the phone, quickly filling him in on what was going on…And what they wanted help with.

"So, you're telling me, you want to help you two…Put together a curriculum…"

"Yup."

"To help rehabilitate the former emperor of the isles…

"Uh-Huh."

"Who is amnesiac and wants to turn a new leaf?"

"Pretty much."

"Just another day on the boiling isles…" Bump grumbled, as he held his hand to his cheek.

"I want him to actively feel like he's working towards something, you know? Keep him enriched so he doesn't sneak out and find something he shouldn't." Amity crossed her arms, and smiled cockily.

"He also really wants to meet you! He found you 'dashing.'" Luz butted in.

After a minute-long blank stare, Bump grumbled "Luz, this is no time for jokes."

"I wasn't joking." Said Luz, wiggling her eyebrows.

Another pause, before Bump clarified. "You're saying, the former emperor of the boiling isles, finds me attractive?"

"Yup." Luz laughed.

"...Frewin, I'm going to need to go lie down."

And with that, the line went dead.
