The next morning, Alexandra was walking along with Lola, she had decided to take over for Megumi after the failed attempt that left the former injured.
"So our czar liberator is dead but luckily we have another Alexander lying around. You." Lola began, they then entered the office and began to sit down.
"Even though I was the one to agree with Megumi, I thought some of the stuff she did was dangerous in my way of thinking, she hadn't fixed anything problematic with Saunders and her industrialization was slow. Her liberating views have weakened the economy and fractured society through what has happened to her by those radicals. In order to save the school, I'm bringing back pure Autocratic rule." Alexandra told Lola what had happened during Megumi's reign. She planned to bring back the pure rule that Nicole and the leaders before her had held. Alexandra knew there was a lot to get done and they needed to start now. Alexandra quickly began typing the changes she was going to do to make Saunders better in her eyes.
• Autonomy for local clubs will be abolished and will have to follow what the tsarina tells them to.
•Classes will last for forty-two minutes with three minute breaks in between.
•The Aristocratic class of students will be gutted and exiled to Siberia.
•Students need a minimum of 65 in order to pass their classes or face exile.
•Sensha-Do budget will be slashed in half to help stimulate the local economy.
•Establishment of the Okhrana to help maintain order and peace on Saunders.
•New school flag and logo will be decided with new colors.
•Former aristocrats will be excluded from all of the clubs.
"Sounds a bit extreme to me but considering what had just happened to Megumi, I can see your reasoning." Lola began once she finished reading the changes Alexandra planned to bring to Saunders.
"I'll plan to make a speech later today. Lola, I think there is something you need to learn about when it comes to running a school. Don't liberalize anything and the people will obey." Alexandra told her friend to just maintain stability and help out the economy.
"What if the people want change? Megumi decided to bring change to make the people happy." Lola asked Alexandra if the people wanted change to make their lives better, would Alexandra listen to them. Alexandra looked at Lola as she began speaking again.
"I am not interested in bringing change to Saunders but as much as getting the students to be loyal to me." Alexandra responded, she thought change was divisive and could ruin the school in the future. "I tried to warn her but she didn't listen." Himari and Yuri came in as they were wheeling in a board to show Alexandra when they learned that Megumi had been replaced, maybe they could say her opinion into their favor.
"We would like to have the black and brown minority students have the money but also the free labor back so we can have them begin farming again." Himari began, she wanted to undo all the progress that had been made. Alexandra looked at the board as there were tons of other students that attended Saunders other than the majority. Africans, Indians, those from the South American countries and possibly other religions. Alexandra felt a bit disgusted about it as she didn't want to represent everyone.
"Non-Russkis? More interested in their own cultural heritage than in loving me?" Alexandra asked as she looked at the minorities that were attending Saunders.
"Isn't it great? So much beautiful culture and diversity in our great inclusive school of equity." Yuri responded sweetly but immediately after she finished her sentence, Alexandra pulled out a bazooka and fired it at the two of them to get them to shut up. She was going to run Saunders her way.
Alexandra walked off with Lola as she was going to be her new help as she was to Megumi. They were wheeling a board around a board they were going to use to present the students of the school. They arrived at the stage below decks where all of the students had gathered. Alexandra got herself set up as Lola prepared the screen above her while she got the camera set up. They were going to record all of this to the crowd. Once everything had been set up and the people settled down. Alexandra began to speak.
Alexandra began speaking to the students. She was speaking in another language, but the English translations were popping on the screen. The students were shocked, they needed to either adapt or face getting brutally repressed by Alexandra.
"What? You can't do this to us! We have the right to make our decisions you're clearly violating our book of inclusion!" One of the aristocratic students called out. Alexandra looked over to see who it was.
"Принеси мне книгу." Alexandra told the girl. The girl got up and began walking onto the stage with the book she had proposed. The book was a light blue with a rainbow on it. It said: The Rules of Inclusion that Saunders should follow. Alexandra looked at the book before she began speaking while studying the thick book. "Знаете, я ненавижу эту книгу, и она противоречит тому, что я хочу сделать школой. Школа этого не заслуживает." Alexandra snatched the book away from her and began to study its thickness, it must have been over a thousand pages long. Here was what Alexandra thought of the book. She gripped the book with the pages facing up and she ripped the massive book in half with ease. She then ripped it into corners. The girl watched horrified as Alexandra had destroyed the rule of what the aristocrats lived by. "Вот, вот что я думаю о ваших правилах разнообразия." Alexandra tossed the pieces of paper at the student after she had ripped up the book. The student began to cry.
"Why did you rip our book up. This is racism!" She cried out. Alexandra grabbed her next weapon if she was going to maintain order.
"If you want to cry, here is something you should cry over." Alexandra told her. She got out her long disciplining stick which had a large steel fist. She swung it over and smashed it against her face. She got up and began to run after she had been bashed in the head. "Arrest her Okhrana." She gave the order, two of her guards ran over and grabbed the girl. Even though her head was bleeding, they decided to handcuff her and escort her away. "Now arrest and expel the snowflake aristocrats and seize their valuables." her secret police descended on the upper students and began to arrest them. Some of the students tried to run and make their escape to the lower decks. The other students watched as they had arrested a good chunk of the students. They began to escort them away from the scene.
"Well those brats are getting taken care of, now let's see what they were really hiding." Lola smiled with happiness as her former friends were being escorted away.
"Now with them out of the way, let's pick up where Megumi left off. Meeting dismissed." Alexandra and Lola walked away with the board and turned off the electronics. Kay, who was watching all of this was scared, was Alexandra going to suppress the people and undo all the progress that Megumi had made? She decided to not think about it as the words of Megumi were reflecting in her head, if she had to give the students freedom, she had the right to take it away from them.
The next day would roll around as Lola walked in with a piece of paper. Alexandra was busy figuring out what to spend the money on.
"Hey Alexandra, I found out how much money we managed to get from the aristocrats, they have hoarded over hundred million yen roughly from foreign currencies and their own money as well as a ton of gold, a ton of platinum and three tons of silver." Lola told Alexandra how much money they managed to gather.
"That's great, I spent all the money we had on oil wells, synthetic oil making components and steel rollers now that we have more money, let's see if we begin using up all of the empty space and finally paying off the construction companies that built the empty buildings." Alexandra responded as she was more than happy with the money.
"Will we be able to begin attracting foreign investment?" Lola asked while she began handling a stack of papers.
"I hope so, once we use the money, we can continue Megumi's modernization." Alexandra replied. She felt optimistic even if she had to get some blood on her hands.
"Great idea, I hope we can begin having more dividends by the time these reforms bear fruit. However I don't want these reforms to take too long as someone else might come along and reverse all of these changes." Lola replied. Alexandra nodded while twirling her hands.
"You know those big mansions the aristocrats used to own?" Alexandra began. Lola nodded with a yep. "I might as well turn them into apartments just so we can continue to grow the population."
"Contact the construction companies and we can begin the overhaul of all the transport networks as well." Lola seemed to be excited while she was jotting down ideas rapidly. Alexandra nodded. Alexandra grabbed the phone and began to dial up the number of who she wanted to call.
The phone began to ring at a company at the bow part of the ship, they were responsible for much of the accounting of the ship. The man had a mustache and a bushy beard. He was waiting for something to happen and get a phone call. He picked up the phone when he heard it ring.
"Lyova Witte speaking, how can I help you?" Lyova began. He began playing with his beard while Alexandra began to speak.
"Want to help out with the construction of the school we need an accountant to help the school leap forward. We have a ton of money and we've spent half of it on getting the school new factories." Alexandra began.
"An accountant?" Lyova began. "You've found the right person. What do you need help with?"
"Hopefully money management. We could use the help in the form of sorting our finances." Alexandra replied.
"I'll be on my way shortly." Lyova replied. He hung up and prepared his belongings, he had managed to score himself a job.
Lyova would arrive at Saunders a half hour later. Alexandra and Lola were sorting some papers when he knocked. They still had a lot to do.
"The door's open." Alexandra told whoever was knocking to come in. The door opened and Lyova was able to step inside. He seemed to be enthusiastic about his new job.
"Hey it's me, Lyova Witte you just called. And you must be?" Lyova introduced himself to the two girls.
"I'm Alexandra and this is my friend Lola." Alexandra introduced herself. Lyova shook her hand while Lola stepped up and shook his hand next.
"So where's all the accounting papers I need to do, I want to get to work right away." Lyova asked. He seemed to be eager to do his work.
"We've been gathering them on the left of your desk." Alexandra told Lyova where all the paperwork was. "All you need to do is to keep the money in check and make sure we aren't mismanaging it."
"Okay got ya." Lyova replied. He sat down and immediately got to work. He began looking over the papers of the school and the budget the school had. Alexandra had managed to slash the budget considerably in order to spend it on more output. Lyova was going to help her out with the endeavor.
"Do you think that he will be able to do it?" Lola asked. She was moreover curious about what was going to happen.
"I got an actual accountant, so he has some experience with handling finances." Alexandra replied.
"How much do you think we should give him?" Lola asked what Lyova's pay would be.
"About forty thousand yen as a weekly paycheck. I have a lot of trust in this man." Alexandra whispered back so Lyova didn't hear it. Suddenly there was a buzzing sound as one of the buzzing typewriters was printing out a letter for Alexandra. Alexandra walked over to pick up the letter, she began to analyze it and realized that the one who wrote the letter wasn't particularly happy with the reforms.
Dear Alexandra.
What in the living hell are you doing to the school? The Sensha-Do budget has been slashed considerably and we were told that the school won't be using the tanks, are you using this money for the horses you love? I would like to see you for this discussion and how you are treating the students from that first meeting between the school and its students.
Kay
Alexandra read over the letter, Kay still had a reason to be mad at her. However, Alexandra believed this was for the greater good that the school's finances were going into something much more useful. Lola walked down to see what Alexandra was reading about.
"Is there anything wrong?" Lola asked Alexandra.
"Kay's being pissy again." Alexandra replied. Lola looked at her as they had two options on what to do.
"What should we do? We should call the Okhrana and have her removed or we can call her down and speak to her." Lola laid out the options for Alexandra to decide on. Alexandra began to think about the two options. She wasn't fond of Kay but she didn't consider her a threat to the school overall but just a moreover annoying nuisance. Alexandra sat down in a chair and sighed.
"Bring her down, I want to speak to her." Alexandra responded. She wasn't willing to use her police force to have her repressed. She grabbed the laptop and began typing an email for Kay to come on down. Once she sent the email. Now comes the waiting game.
Kay came down an hour later and the door was unlocked so she had no trouble opening it. She walked in as she felt mad about it. Alexandra knew she had to remain calm if they needed to come to an agreement.
"Alexandra, I don't like what you are doing." Kay began. Alexandra had to remain calm so she didn't explode into rage to beat her up.
"How so?" Alexandra asked.
"You slashed the Sensha-Do budget in half from thirty percent to eighteen percent and we need a strong team for the Sensha-Do match coming up." Kay began. "I thought you were moving the school forward?"
"We are. I have no plan for Saunders to get involved in any major wars. So I'm slashing the funds to certain groups to help out others that need it." Alexandra replied that the entire budget is getting slashed because she wanted to maintain peace.
"Yeah but what happens if we get caught flat footed and we need to mobilize?" Kay asked if they were caught and were too slow to face the threat.
"I would rather resolve stuff with diplomacy rather than with blood." Alexandra replied. She thought fighting was pointless. Kay turned her head to see someone new handling the school's finances.
"Who is he?" Kay asked. Did they get someone new?
"That's Lyova, he's our new accountant for the school. Since we have a good amount of money left over, we might as well put it somewhere more useful." Alexandra replied. Kay got up and left.
"Do whatever you want, this won't be the last you hear about me." Kay was fuming when she said those words.
"I've never seen a girl so mad at us. What did we do to her to make her this way?" Lyova asked as he didn't understand Kay.
"She's particularly unhappy with the changes that we've made but I have my reason for making them." Alexandra began. "Possibly because I've become a leader and not her. What a spoiled brat she is."
"Can't we just let Kay be the leader of the school?" Lyova asked if that was possible.
"No, I can't let her, maybe if she was a second or third year student I would certainly have her be the leader, but she's too inexperienced to lead." Alexandra told Lyova.
"Still, that was no reason to snub her off like that." Lyova tried to be reasonable with Alexandra. Lola looked at him and she began to think.
"Did you get the right man to do the job?" Lola asked.
"Yes I did, we need an accountant if we are to move forward." Alexandra replied. Lyova knew that he needed to make ends meet and prevent Alexandra and Kay from tearing themselves apart. He had to speak with Kay on these matters. He decided to continue to get the accounting done while the phone rang again, it was from the hospital that Megumi was staying in. Alexandra picked up the phone. "Yes?"
"Hey is this Alexandra?" One of the doctors called.
"Yeah that's me." Alexandra replied.
"We got the news that Megumi is beginning to walk again and that she will only have a couple more days to go before we let her back out to your school." The doctor continued to speak.
"That's fantastic, we will welcome her back with jubilation." Alexandra smiled. She was more than happy to see her friend back.
"Just go easy on her, don't put her in any stressful positions that require a lot from her." The doctor told Alexandra to not run her into the ground.
"Okay, I promise." Alexandra responded. She then hung up with great news. With Megumi back into the mix, they now had the leverage to keep Saunders on the course it was supposed to travel down but they thought that they needed to keep Kay in check so she didn't change anything which would lead to disaster.
"Okay I filled out everything and all the accounting work has been done for the day." Lyova began as he managed to complete all of their work. Alexandra nodded with approval.
"Good work, you are free to help others out in times of trouble or you want to help out with more paperwork." Alexandra asked. Lyova began to think for a second, financing Saunders' cash was one thing but that was miniscule to him.
"Give me more to do, let's see if I can enhance the school a bit." Lyova told Alexandra that he wanted more to do.
"Let us know what you want to do and we'll implement it the best we can." Alexandra told Lyova that they were open to suggestions and ideas.
"I'll have to go think about that." Lyova replied. He got up and began to walk away. Alexandra nodded while Lola was typing away, she was writing.
Kay was resting in her room as she wasn't happy with the changes. She was laying belly flat on her bed while kicking her feet around in the air gently like pickaxes hammering imaginary stone. A knock was heard on the door as if someone wanted to come in. Kay was mostly laying around too preoccupied to see who it was. But she had to let him in.
"Come in." Kay responded with a nonchalant type of wording, she found herself completely uninterested. Lyova opened the door to see who it was.
"Hello?" Lyova began. Kay didn't speak. Lyova went in as he wanted to be gentle with her and try befriending her to the best of his ability. "Is there something that matters?" Lyova asked Kay. Kay turned as she buried her head into the pillow. "Look, I'm trying to help you out here."
"Why do you care?" Kay asked him. Lyova sat down on the bed to see if there was something he could do to have Kay open up to chat with him.
"I don't want to be mean but I don't want to see anyone completely crabby and hunched over in a bad mood." Lyova told Kay that there shouldn't be anything that would ruin her day. Kay took her head out of the pillow for a moment and looked at Lyova who was trying his best to make things better for her.
"You sure?" Kay asked. Lyova looked at her before he began speaking.
"I asked Alexandra if you had the ability to lead but she said that you had no experience in leading. But I don't want to see you laying around and doing nothing for the rest of the day." Lyova replied. He was trying his best to make things better. He sat around on the bed trying to figure out something to make Kay's life better. He looked around to see what she had if they were able to bond over each other. He spotted the mini fridge in her dorm and walked over to it. He opened it and spotted a box of cookies in the fridge. Lyova opened the partially empty box. "You want some cookies?" Lyova asked. Kay looked up to Lyova before she realized that Lyova wanted to invite her for a snack.
"Sure thing." Kay responded as if she was open to this invitation. Lyova was taken by surprise, how could she go from crabby to friendly so quickly? He knew he didn't want to think about it that much and instead, get to know Kay a bit pulled out another chair from her desk and placed it at the table while sitting down in it. He opened the box of cookies and laid them out, the cream colored wafers seemed tempting but he didn't know what they tasted like. Kay walked over before sitting down in the other seat. Lyova was looking around Kay's room and she tried her best to make her room feel more like home. She had posters, flags and pictures all over her walls and shelves. She was pretty clear at expressing her character.
"I noticed you like the United States, is there a reasoning behind it? Like any memorable trips?" Lyova asked. He opened up the wafer cookies before he took one for himself.
"I was told it was the country where free speech mattered, it was a lot like home. You could live there without having someone breathing down your back every moment. I also want to make sure that the people here could feel more like they are from the country they were born from." Kay began. She took a couple of the wafers and ate them at the same time.
"This seems to be coming from someone who likes a country but they weren't born from it. I wanted to be an Englishman growing up despite being born in the Aomori region." Lyova began speaking to Kay about their experiences. "I sense you really have grown attached to something that seems to be within your reach. Where do you see yourself in the next ten years?"
"Probably somewhere alongside the west coast, California, Hollywood." Kay replied. She was wondering if she was going to go there. She wasn't exactly sure about it.
"Well you kind of look like it. I haven't been to California myself but the beaches are kind of nice but you only wish to be there for the day as it is very difficult to make a living there and its only going to get harder, I think I got a few books on maps that you can look up as it wouldn't hurt to do any research." Lyova replied. He took another cookie before eating it.
"Good, when do you expect me to get these books?" Kay asked. She was curious about it and Lyova was tempting her curiosity.
"I'll ship them over to your dorm in a couple of days, I just need to remember where I had put them." Lyova replied. Kay took more of the cookies and stuffed them into her mouth. She was having fun talking to this accountant. "Have you got any family? Parents? Brothers? Sisters?" Lyova asked with curiosity.
"I have a father who is currently working on the mainland. My mother doesn't have a job and takes care of us. I have a younger brother who is about eleven and a younger sister who just turned nine." Kay decided to tell Lyova about her family.
"My wife is a manager at a business based outside of Aomori and I have three kids. Two sons and a daughter. The two sons are both fourteen and thirteen respectively and a daughter who is twelve." Lyova explained to Kay what his family was.
"What's the daughter's name?" Kay asked.
"Akebi." He responded. He pulled out a photo of her. Akebi was an unusually tall girl for her age, slender with blonde hair and light brown eyes.
"She looks cute. When will I meet her?" Kay asked as she was getting excited.
"One day I promise." Lyova responded. He got up and began walking away. "If you need me, call me. I'll come back tomorrow." Lyova closed the door behind her, he was here to stay and help Saunders out. Kay had seemed to make a friend.
Lyova was here to stay.
[A/N]: First chapter of the second part and I do apologize for taking so long to make, I was taking a break to rest my mind up for this. I have planned out what Alexandra is going to do and it will be hopefully seven chapters long as her reign will be one marked of order and peace despite the detriment of everyone else.
Also what Alexandra decides to do is something I hope does happen but I don't want to go into detail due to how complicated the events are playing out before our eyes and the fact the libertarian left might turn into the next Mildred Montag at this rate, To sum it up, its like they change their topic every few seconds while deciding our chocolate rations. I won't pay too much attention to them as Himari's group of snowflakes are pretty confusing and hard to keep track of.
I'm just rambling on this point. I might as well continue reading while I come up with the next ideas.
