A/N:

Like a phoenix from the ashes, I return with my first newly-written chapter! Not just a nearly-complete chapter I needed to finish proofreading :P

But it's really good to be back, I forgot how much fun writing this fic was! I even have a draft for the next chapter done, so that should hopefully be out sometime tomorrow…In the morning, it's 2 am. Why is my productivity best during these horrid hours?

I know the last chapter was pretttyyyy beefy compared to my usual output, but- I'm gonna go back to shorter chapters. Hope that's alright.

So, I just wanna make it clear, because I kind of shoved my foot in my mouth saying "I'm gonna try for an update everyday!" and then going on hiatus for a month…But I make no promises how often this fic's gonna update. It'll update when I feel like writing it… It just happens I feel like writing it at the moment :P

Luz slapped her hand against her forehead as she paced around her bedroom. Quietly muttering, "Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!" - scolding herself for accepting to help Phillip! She, just- ugh. She thought he'd been making progress, but- what if this was just all a ruse? I mean, with his memories coming back- what if his maniacal tendencies were coming back too?!

A soft knock came on her door, followed by her mother Camila popping her head in. "Mija, are you alright? You've been looking really upset since you came home… Is this about Belos?"

Luz just solemnly looked at her mother, and nodded.

Camila took a deep breath, letting out a little 'tsk, tsk, tsk' noise. Sitting on her daughter's bed, and becoming her to come sit.

"It's just…" Luz said, her voice clearly strained, as she sat down next to her mother. Before putting her head on her mother's shoulder, for comfort. "I want to trust him, but- I can't bring myself too!"

"Aw, Peque…" Camila said with a sigh, looking down at the floor. "It's…" She took a deep breath. "Difficult, to give advice, in this situation, because- you know, uh- outstanding circumstances? But usually what I would say is…Forgive, but- don't forget. They hurt you, and as much as they try, they can't undo that."

Luz looked into her mother's eyes, looking for strength but finding none. "But I don't want to give up on him entirely! As far as I can tell he's being truthful, but-" She held her hands to her face, falling back in bed. "But what if he isn't!"

Camila tried to be strong for her daughter, and give good advice… "That is a possibility, but…What if he is?" Even as she said this, by the tone of her voice she was clearly unsure herself. "It's possible that maybe he hasn't turned a new leaf, but then again - it's equally possible he has. It's a 50/50 chance. I suppose all we can do is wait and see."

These words didn't soothe Luz much, but maybe her mother had a point… "I promised him I would try and help him discover the remaining Light Glyphs, but- I don't know, I'm scared he's going to use the situation to stage an accident or something…"

"So, why don't you bring everyone else? Keep an eye on him if he tries any of that stuff." Camila shrugged.

"I don't wanna tell Eda and Lilith…" Luz said, grabbing a pillow and muffling her groan. "They're just gonna tell me the same things I've been thinking about all day…" Of course, it was a little bit childish - but a genuine emotion. She sat back up, and took a deep breath. "But I should…If just so they know where to look…"

Camila put a comforting hand on her daughter's shoulder. "Look, bebe… I can't choose for you, but…I know, whatever you decide, it'll be the right choice."

This at least eased Luz a bit. "Thank you, mama." She said, pulling her mother into a hug.

"So, tell me again why I'm accompanying you on this mission, but not anyone else?" King Clawthorne grumbled, annoyedly crossing his arms - as he and Luz reached the door to Blight Manor.

Luz had made up her mind! She would tell everyone….After they'd already left, over text! No one gets mad over text, right? "Because, well, with Papa Titan…" She awkwardly cleared her throat. "Uh, no longer in the picture, you're the source for all the island's magic! We need your help to discover the rest of the glyphs."

King just rolled his eyes. "Fine, but you owe me one. And if he tries to pull a fast one, don't say I didn't warn you."

Luz gave the door a soft knock. Of course, it wasn't going to just be King, Luz, and Phillip - She was gonna invite Amity along, too! Amity was the person Luz trusted most in the world, and- she did have a helping hand in her discovering the light Glyph way back when…Good memories! Putting aside the conflict, and the whole- messing with her wand thing.

"Hey, Amity." Luz said. "Can we come in?"

"Sure, what's up?" Amity replied, stepping to the side.

Luz proceeded to, as quickly as she could, explain the promise she'd made to Phillip. As well as her plan to take him on a little...adventure, and gave an invitation to come along. Amity just shrugged, "I got nothing better to do."

"I'll get together camping equipment." Amity said, as she began to walk towards the storage closet. "I'll get the food!" Squealed King, as he jumped to the ground and ran to the kitchen. "And I'll…Go get Phillip." Luz ran up stairs, and booted his door in, Loudly shouting, "Comeon!"

"Wuh?!" Phillip squeaked, trying to roll over to see the oncoming threat. But, he was already at the edge of the bed - and ended up tumbling to the ground. Currant just barely managed to take off in time, holding herself in the air.

He sharply inhaled from the pain now shooting up his spine. "What is going on…?" He grumbled, the world coming into focus.

"Sorry, I didn't think you were still sleeping…" Luz said, with a mischievous smile. "Remember how I promised you I'd help you look for the rest of the Glyphs?" She excitedly squeaked.

Phillip furrowed his brow. "Now?"

She nodded, "Not riiiiight now, we still gotta finish packing and you have to get ready." She smelled the stale air in the room. "And take a shower, too - you smell bad."

To which, he simply grumbled. Event Currant had to stifle a chuckle.

About an hour later, a fresh-faced Phillip arrived in the living room. He took a hot shower, brushed his hair, and put on a nice set of clothes…Well, his usual outfit. Caleb's coat, a grey waistcoat, brown britches, and brown boots. He thought he looked nice, at least.

Luz simply rolled her eyes and grumbled, "Finally! Let's gooo!"

"But we only just finished packing…" Amity interjected. They had to fish King out from a mountain of snack wrappers.

"Where are we going, anyway…" Phillip grumbled, rubbing the bridge of his nose. As he stepped down the final stair, Currant transformed back into a staff and landed in his arms.

Luz excitedly squeaked, "The Knee!"
