Chapter 26 – Weasley Weekend
Set after Harry and Katie's wedding but before Dahlia was born.
Dedicated to Urgwaew
Katie looked up from her book. "What's wrong with Hedwig?"
Hedwig looked at Katie, head tilted in confusion.
Katie tilted her head to match Hedwig's. "Wait, you're not making any noises. What's making that hooting noise?"
"Oh the mirror," Harry said and got up from the couch. "I found a charm that matches a sound to someone calling on the mirror and the majority of people have a special Hedwig call sound."
"Oh that's fun," Katie said. "So whose call sounds like Hedwig gagging?"
"Fred or George," Harry said as he walked back with the mirror.
Katie giggled. "Showing your disdain for their antics huh?" Her giggles turned into laughter as Hedwig nodded wearily, rolling her large eyes.
Harry plopped down on the couch and answered it. "Hey George, what's up?"
George smiled. "What are you two doing this weekend?"
"We didn't have plans really but I guess we do now." Katie leaned in. "What are we doing this weekend?"
"Come over to the Burrow! It's going to be a Weasley weekend. All the Weasleys are coming home for the first time in ages."
"Aww that sounds lovely," Katie said. "Isn't that more of a family thing though?"
"Well Harry's basically a black-haired Weasley and since you're married to him, you're an honorary Weasley too so you two need to come."
"Thanks!" Harry sounded incredibly touched. "Yeah, we'll be there!"
"Awesome! Mum will be chuffed for sure. It'll be a lot of fun."
"Should we dye our hair?" Katie asked. "I know I look weird as a red-head but Harry might be able to pull it off."
"As funny as that would be, not necessary." George made a face. "Especially if you two start being gross and stuff."
"Gross like this?" Katie took Harry's face and started kissing him messily.
"GROSS!" George shouted. "MY EYES! SEE YOU SATURDAY!" He disappeared from the mirror, and the reflections of a laughing Harry and Katie appeared.
"That'll be fun," Harry said enthusiastically. "I haven't gotten to talk to Bill or Charlie that much."
"And with Angelina there, we might have some Quidditch games. We should bring our brooms in case." Katie pushed Harry down and sat on top of him. "So, what noise does the mirror make when I call on mine?"
"Something very lovely," Harry said evasively.
Hedwig started hooting loudly and urgently flapping her wings and hopping from talon to talon.
"Hedwig!" Harry groaned. "Not cool!"
"That's my call sound?!" Katie gasped, poking Harry in the chest.
"It's to ensure I answer it very quickly! In case it's an emergency or something!"
Katie crossed her arms. "The others better have worse ones."
Hedwig screeched at the top of her lungs.
"Lemme guess, Angelina?" Katie asked with a big smile. She laughed at Hedwig's nod. "What's Alicia's?"
Hedwig somehow managed to make a raspberry sound, making Katie fall over from laughing. "Okay, I suppose mine isn't that bad," Katie said. "Hedwig, you'll help me make sounds for mine, right? We need something suitable for Harry."
Hedwig looked thoughtful for a moment before she headbutted her roost, making a dull thunking noise. That made the woman and the owl shriek with laughter while Harry shook his head, grinning. "You two are so funny," he said wryly.

"Welcome you two!" Molly said happily, giving Harry and Katie her patented Molly hugs, ones that left you slightly out of breath because she squeezed the air from you. "I'm so happy to see you!"
"Same! Thanks for having us over on your family weekend," Harry said, hugging her back.
"Tosh! You two are close-as in my book," Molly said. "Oh don't tell me you brought food too."
"As if you didn't expect me to," Harry grinned.
"Well, It certainly won't go to waste, especially with Bill and Charlie back. Oh all my babies back home at once and not on a holiday, it makes me so happy!"
"I can't remember the last time someone called me a baby," Bill remarked. He took off his dragon leather jacket and grinned.
"Me neither," Charlie said with a wide smile. He took Bill's jacket and frowned at it. "Is this real?"
"I hope so, at least I was told when I got it."
"You got fleeced. This is dragon scale sewed onto something tougher than regular leather."
"That's what I get for buying it at an open market," Bill sighed. "Still looks good at least. I bought it for looks and not protection. My regular gear is certified." He smiled broadly as Ginny appeared with Neville. "There's my favorite sister!"
"Isn't she your only sister?" Neville asked, slightly confused.
"That's his subtle way of calling us girls," Fred said.
"Even though he's the only Weasley lad that shaves his legs," George said with a malicious grin.
"It's for my gear and you bloody well know it!" Bill said, glaring at George over Ginny's head.
Angelina blinked as the twins, Bill, Charlie, and Ginny started going at each other. "Wow. That's a sight to see for sure," she said. "I mean, I go at it with my brothers but they really go hard."
"You have no idea," Percy sighed. "This is tame for them."
"What was it like growing up with them?" Katie asked.
"Loud." Everyone chuckled at that. Percy smiled fondly. "Rather chaotic but looking back, it was a warm environment. Still is of course, but on hindsight, it was still very pleasant. And prepared me rather well for adult life."
"Really?" Neville asked.
"Surprisingly, yes. Whenever I find myself becoming annoyed, I think about what the twins have done to me and everything else pales in comparison."
Angelina, Katie, Harry, and Neville laughed heartily at that.
"Oi! You making fun of us?" Fred asked, his voice slightly muffled due to being put in a headlock by Charlie.
"What gave it away?" Percy deadpanned.
"Ah I missed your dry wit too," Bill laughed. "Come on Percy. Get over here!"
Percy made a show of rolling his eyes but walked over eagerly enough and the squabbling and arguing intensified.
"I always knew Ginny was tough, you know with six older brothers and all but damn, she doesn't hold back," Harry smiled. "And she's only gotten stronger since joining Holyhead."
"Something Charlie is discovering," Katie giggled as Charlie winced and grabbed his side.
"Best of luck to you mate," Angelina said solemnly, patting Neville on the shoulder.
Neville laughed. "Ginny is really sweet with me. She's not afraid to argue of course but she certainly doesn't do that to me." He winced a little when she stomped on Bill's foot. "Thank Merlin."
"Where's Ron?" Harry asked, looking around the garden.
"He's on the way. Apparently there's something going to happen today," Angelina said. "George told me that anytime the whole family is together, something big happens. He thinks Ron proposed to Hannah."
"Ginny thinks it has to do with Charlie or Bill," Neville said. "She thinks Charlie might have gotten someone pregnant accidentally or Bill is doing something extra dangerous."
"Dang, wish I knew more stuff about them to make my own guesses," Katie said.
"Maybe they're back for your wedding too," Harry said to Angelina.
"Yeah that too," she agreed. "Still, it's kinda nice to see them all like that," she smiled fondly at them.
"Mrs. Weasley looks so happy," Harry said with a big smile.
She waded into the fray, poking with a wooden spoon and thwapping the older boys with it gently as she pushed them apart with much finger wagging.
"Now she looks even happier," Katie snickered.
They set up the tables in the garden and Arthur came back, laden with more food. He and Harry set up an outdoor grill, a present from Harry for his last birthday, and soon they were grilling food on it. Everyone walked around and mingled and visited as savory scents filled the air. Then Ron and Hannah appeared.
"Hey everyone!" Ron said happily, hugging his parents and Ginny. He punched his brothers and Harry and another scuffle appeared as Charlie and Bill went overboard with their greetings. "Get off my you berks," Ron said as he shoved them off. "I have an important announcement to make!"
"You're pregnant!" George shouted.
"You're positively glowing!" Fred praised as he patted Ron's stomach. "And barely showing!"
"I knew he'd be the first of us to get pregnant," Charlie sighed. "He never did listen to us when we gave him the talk."
"Dammit Ron, you're not even married yet!" Bill scolded.
"I'm too young to be an aunt!" Ginny shrieked.
Percy sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
Ron glared at his siblings while Hannah cried from laughter. He turned to her. "If you want to call it off, I won't blame you at all."
She shook her head. "No, I'm still pretty committed." She held up her hand and her ring caught the sunlight. "Ron and I are engaged!"
Molly cheered and she hugged Hannah tightly. "Welcome to the family!" she said and kissed her several times. "Oh congrats my boy!" and then proceeded to subject Ron to the same treatment. Everyone rushed to congratulate the grinning blushing couple.
"Well guess that blows our news away," Charlie smiled, nudging Bill.
"What, you two are engaged too?" Fred asked.
"To each other?!" George gasped.
"Gross! You're brothers!" Ron shouted.
"I'm too young to have two brothers engaged to each other!" Ginny shrieked.
Percy rubbed his temples slowly.
"I can do much better than Charlie," Bill sniffed.
"You wish," Charlie retorted.
"What am I marrying into?" Angelina sighed.
Katie covered her mouth. "I think Hannah's saying the same thing."
Hannah shook her head. "Am not!"
"Are you thinking it?"
Hannah's blush made them laugh.
Angelina threw a companionable arm around the younger girl's shoulders. "Guess we'll suffer together but the company will be nice."
"Alright enough of that," Arthur said, gently but firmly stopping the fighting. "Go on then Bill, Charlie."
"Well the Ministry is starting a new dragon preserve and I've been asked to help set it up and run it for a bit." Charlie smiled with pride. "And, well, it's been a while since I've lived in here and we'll be getting some exchange dragons and see how they like the environment, so I'm moving back home for a while. I mean here, not back to the Burrow."
"Congratulations!" Molly said and kissed him. "As if you won't be popping back home to eat often."
"I did miss your cooking Mum," Charlie said with a big hug.
"I just finished a year long dive and I'm a bit knackered on the adventure and stuff," Bill said next. "So I accepted a local job with Gringotts doing domestic cursebreaking and warding and yeah, I'll be moving back to the UK too." He flushed when Molly kissed him but he hugged her back enthusiastically as well.
"Alright, who's the girl?" George asked.
"What girl?" Bill said evasively.
"Alright, who's the bloke?" Fred asked.
"Oh my bet is on a bloke," Charlie said.
"Nah, I'm thinking girl," Ginny disagreed.
"Whatever the reason," Arthur said loudly, stopping the building squabble, "it'll be wonderful to have the whole family in the same country again. Right love?"
Molly dabbed her eyes. "I'm so happy!" she gushed. "All my babies back home! Fred and George's store thriving. Angelina and Hannah joining the family. Ginny doing so well at Holyhead. Percy and his new position at the Ministry. Ron and Hannah working the Cauldron together." She smiled widely despite the tears. "It does me real good to see it."
Arthur led her indoors as she sobbed happily, leaving everyone to watch after them.
"It's okay Freddie," Ginny said, patting his arm.
"Wait, what?" Fred asked, nonplussed.
"It's just, you're achieving the least of all of us but it's okay. Your time will come."
Fred's eyes glinted dangerously. "Oh yeah? You're not doing so well at Holyhead are you? Beaten by Portree last week, right?"
"Hey, don't drag me into this," Harry said nervously.
"And Tutshill week before?"
"Hey, now," Angelina warned.
"I haven't started yet and you know it," Ginny growled.
"Don't start what you can't stop, Ginny-Bean," Fred said with malicious glee.
"Ginny-Bean?" the non-Weasleys all said together.
"I will murder anyone that calls me that and I'm starting with you!" Ginny said, giving Fred a very rude gesture.
"Yeah, lay off Fred," Bill said.
"You lay off unless you want us to find out the real reason you're coming back to Britain," George retorted.
"Oh piss off," Bill said dismissively. "Why don't you lot go after Charlie over this stuff too?"
"Because we know Charlie only cares about dragons," Ginny said.
"Weren't you saying you thought he knocked someone up accidentally?" Ron asked.
"Hey, I know how to control myself!" Charlie shouted. "Unlike some people I can and will mention!"
A loud snap made everyone jump. Heads turned and gaped at Percy standing there holding two ends of a thick piece of wood that he had snapped in half. "That is quite enough," he said calmly but his eyes roared. "This is the first time we are all back and it isn't a holiday and I will not let you all upset our parents. Push all this aside for now and solve it the usual way later. For now, it is smiles and verbal antics only." He looked at all of his siblings.
Charlie nodded. "Right, Percy's right. Let's cool it yeah?" All the siblings nodded and they murmured soft apologies to one another. By then Arthur and Molly returned and Molly began handing plates out to everyone.
Percy cleared his throat, cheeks red from embarrassment. "I apologize for that," he said to the others.
"Don't be, that was brilliant," Harry smiled and shook his hand.
"Yeah Percy, that was incredible," Katie said with a big smile.
Percy smiled shyly. "Well, now as adults, we know a bit too much and let it get to our heads," he said. "We just have to calm down a bit here and there. It will be good that we are all back together though. It has been a bit too long since we last were."
"I've never seen the twins back down like that," Neville said, awed. "I mean, even when we were at Hogwarts. Even Charlie backed down and he works with dragons."
"Oh I know why, Ron said that the only time he saw Charlie lose a fight was against you," Harry said. "Something about the pond?"
"Ah." Percy shook his head. "When we were younger, Charlie threw me into the pond because he thought he could. I was very annoyed already that day and well, unfortunately took it out on him."
"What happened?" Angelina asked eagerly.
"Mum said it looked like Charlie was tenderized like a side of beef," Percy said with mild self-reproof and faint pride. "We never fought again, physically anyways." He smiled while the others laughed. "Not my proudest moment, but also a very proud moment for me."
"Hey, take pride in it. My brothers are all much bigger than me and I'm proud when I whup them," Angelina said. "And they stopped pulling their punches when I joined the Hogwarts Quidditch team."
"Things I don't miss by being an only child," Neville laughed.
"Did you and Lyla ever fight like that?" Angelina asked Katie.
"No, we did the other kind of fighting," Katie said. "Lots of yelling, hiding and taking each other's things. Eating favorite foods. That sort of thing."
"You two lasso and tie each other up with real rope," Harry said.
"Really?" Percy asked with a surprised look.
"Oh yeah, we do that too. Our uncle taught us that when we were both really little." Katie blushed. "I always forget how not normal that is until I say it out loud with people outside our family."
"I didn't think anything of it," Harry admitted and the others laughed. "It's really impressive to see in person honestly."
"What's the usual way later?" Hannah asked.
Percy sighed. "We wait for our parents to go to bed and then go into the orchard to duel. Mother and Father know of course but they pretend not to."
"They duel with Ginny?" Hannah asked worriedly.
Neville snorted. "She can take them on. As long as it's spellcasting."
"She does very well, always holds her own," Percy confirmed. "Charlie usually goes for what Father calls 'Muggle Dueling'," Percy held up his clenched fists.
"Except with you," Harry smiled.
"Except with me," Percy agreed. He looked at Hannah apologetically. "I do hope this does not sour the idea of becoming a part of our family."
"Why aren't you apologizing to me?" Angelina asked with faux-offense.
"Because you are more familiar with our family and are engaged to one of the more difficult ones," Percy smiled. "You knew what you were in for when you agreed."
"You're not wrong," Angelina laughed.
Hannah laughed too. "No, I mean, I honestly didn't know what to expect so it's not a surprise really. A bit shocking, sure. But it's still nice. You can tell you all love each other."
"I think you will fit in just fine," Percy said warmly and shook her hand sincerely.
"Did Percy say you'll fit in?" Katie asked cheekily.
"No. He apologized for me fitting in back then," Angelina chortled.
The rest of the afternoon and evening passed swiftly. None of the food was wasted and everyone ate and drank and enjoyed the fine outdoor weather together. Molly smiled the entire time, joking that her cheeks were aching by the end of it. Katie and Harry made their goodbyes and Hannah was the last one.
"What's this?" Hannah asked as Harry handed her a small bundle.
"Oh some bruise ointment, treated bandages, and sealing cream," Harry smiled. "And a pain-relief potion."
Hannah giggled. "I'll let you know if I need it later."

The next day, Katie and Harry's flat was full of laughter. Harry and Katie were laughing so hard, tears streamed from their eyes while Angelina painted more glowing descriptions of George and Fred. "And they both looked the exact same, like more than usual! You'd think bruises would form different but nope, both looked like they had the snot beat out of them!"
"That's amazing," Katie laughed.
Hedwig flew through the open window, depositing a small package in front of Harry. He rubbed her head while he opened the small box. "Oh, look. Little sausage rolls. Did you order any?"
"Nope, who're they from? Wait, there's a letter."
Harry opened it and started laughing harder. "Hannah said thank you for the first aid kit and that it was absolutely necessary."
The two witches howled with laughter.
"And here's the best part," Harry hiccupped. "She said that when she asked who won, Ron said that no one will duel Percy anymore! Muggle or otherwise!"
"I need to ask him for some tips in keeping George in line," Angelina said admiringly.

Arnie1701 - I will keep it in mind but please do not tell me that I should do anything. Thank you.
Imaginer.012 - Oliver's practices only got worse with age, like a terrible wine. I like how Harry will always call him captain. Also I couldn't let Harry catch it because it's established in the Family timeline that their first Euro League they lost to Bulgaria and got 4th overall. The second league will have set results too but if/when I write that chapter, it will still be fun to read hopefully. Hope you are doing well.
DOOOOOOM Lord of Waffles - I don't know if I will give the Portree players a full fleshed out OC status, but want to for at least Tanya and Shelia to feel like regular characters.
alix33 - Meggy is a good eggy.
Mattyb4678 - I will keep that in mind.
jouve25 - I'm glad you found it binge worthy and enjoy it. This one will be more fluff and fun and character interactions mostly save for the ones that ask for painful chapters. I hope you continue to enjoy it.
