The strong movement of the landing gear was felt, she was finally back home.

She waited for a few minutes as the plane arrived at the correct hangar. Once that time had passed, she heard the pilot announcing the arrival at the destination, and the flight attendants giving instructions for a proper disembarkation. She grabbed her carry-on luggage and proceeded directly to collect her other suitcase. It didn't take long to find it, as it was a quite eye-catching blue suitcase adorned with Shiny Chariot stickers. Afterward, she reached the airport gates, hailed a taxi, and set course straight to her home.

During the journey, as she gazed at the metropolis, her mind filled with memories, not just of Luna Nova, but of everything she had experienced here since she was a child. Memories of her childhood friends, her family, the food, and other moments that, for a few minutes, brought back the smile she had lost for a while.

.

.

Half an hour later, she arrived at the apartment complex. She paid the taxi driver with her credit card, thinking to herself, 'Luckily, Mom sent some extra money.' She thanked the driver, got out of the vehicle with her suitcases, and walked to the entrance. She had to search for her access card to enter the building, but after finding it, she went inside. She walked to the elevator and pressed the button for the top floor. As the elevator ascended, she took out the keys to her door. The elevator made a "ding" sound, and the doors opened. She stepped out, found the right place, and entered the penthouse.

She took a deep breath and said, "Finally home."

She left the suitcases aside, took off her shoes, walked a bit further, and observed the surroundings of the luxurious apartment. Satisfied with what she saw, she reached her room, opened the door, and as expected, everything remained the same, filled to the brim with magically dubious products and, of course, Shiny Chariot collectibles.

"Ugh, mental note, I need to control myself," she said to herself.

She entered, grabbed a change of clothes, and headed straight to take a bath. After all, she had only managed to clean up a little in London, and she really needed one urgently. After finishing her shower, she glanced at the clock on the wall.

"There's still plenty of time before Mom arrives," she thought.

She walked to the living room and saw the television and the sofa, tempting her. How could she resist such luxury? She lay down on the sofa, turned on the TV, and channel-surfed until she found an interesting documentary about Siberia. She watched it for a while until her eyelids started to droop, eventually falling asleep.

.

.

She was awakened by the sound of the door, and as she looked out the window, she realized it was nighttime. That could only mean one thing - her mother had arrived. "Akko, I'm home," she heard her mother say. She got up from the sofa and peeked into the hallway. "Hello, Mom," she greeted.

Her mother looked just like her, except for the fact that her hair was black, unlike Akko's brown hair.

"Hi, dear. How was the journey back?" the older woman asked. "It was good. I managed to get a good seat, and there was no annoying tourist sitting next to me," Akko replied.

"Um, I see. Give me a moment to change, wait for me in the living room, and then we can talk about what really matters" As soon as her mother uttered those words, a lump formed in Akko's throat, and butterflies started fluttering in her stomach. "O-Okay, I'll wait for you on the sofa," she replied, keeping it brief.

Her mother didn't take long to come out of the room. Akko watched as she walked and sat in front of her. "Well, why did you decide to leave Luna Nova?" There were no hints or beating around the bush. It went straight to the main topic. Akko took a deep breath and began to speak.

"Mom, how do I explain it to you..."

.

.

"ummm... "

.

.

"…argh."

.

Seeing how difficult it was for her to explain, her mother said, "Hey, take it easy. Take your time, and remember, I'm your mother. You can trust me. I will never judge you. But, dear, I need to know why you abandoned something you loved so much from the beginning."

.

Akko took another deep breath, even deeper this time, and began to speak.

.

Akko recounted everything from the beginning, how Luna Nova seemed like her dream place, how the classes initially appeared promising and interesting, how her classmates didn't seem to have prejudices, and how the atmosphere was enticing and magical. She even mentioned the uniform and its significance.

But as time went on, everything started to change. Akko couldn't understand what was being taught, her classmates began to mock her for not knowing what she was doing, and the teachers seemed indifferent to her struggles, considering her case to be something out of the ordinary. Her friends, if they tried to help, lacked patience with her.

She detailed all the events that led to her reaching a point of no return, where she felt overwhelmed and lost.

In the midst of her narrative, tears started flowing uncontrollably, and her mother simply listened patiently. She waited until Akko had let it all out, and oh, how much she needed that release. When Akko finally finished, her mother stood up and said, "Come here," extending her arms. Akko didn't hesitate for a second and threw herself into her mother's embrace, her tears intensifying.

"Relax... calm down... Mom is here, my dear," she repeated constantly while giving her gentle back massages.

.

.

When she managed to calm down, her body couldn't take it anymore, and she fell asleep in her mother's arms. Perhaps the overwhelming surge of emotions, combined with the stress of the journey and the lack of sleep from the past few days, resulted in a direct knockout for her body.

Her mother carried her to her room as best as she could, laid her down on the bed, covered her with blankets, and said goodbye with a kiss on her forehead.

"Rest well, my daughter."

POV – Diana

The rays of light peeked through the window, illuminating her bed. It was time to get up. As she looked to her left at the bedside table, she noticed that it was the weekend according to the calendar. She took a few more turns in bed, not wanting to waste any more time, and finally threw the covers aside and stood up. She walked straight to the bathroom and saw that Hannah and Barbara were still asleep.

After tending to her needs, she decided to approach the table where she had left the poster. It was slightly wrinkled, perhaps due to the rush of leaving on time, she had neglected it and due to the state she was in when she returned to her room, she hadn't even noticed its existence.

Folding it correctly this time, she decided that the best thing to do was to store it in a place where nothing would happen to it. Uttering a few words with her wand in hand, a key appeared, which unlocked a small box containing things that were priceless to her. She walked over to her bedside table and retrieved the object from a compartment whose location only she knew. Feeling secure in her hands, she placed it on the bed and inserted the key into the lock. With a few turns, a click was heard. She lifted the lid gently, revealing a photo of her and her mother, accompanied by another one with the whole family. Beside them, there was a gold necklace with an emerald-carved "C," representing her lineage. Underneath, there was a limited edition letter from a certain marginalized witch.

As she took out the photos to make room for the poster, she stared at the one with her mother for a while and said to herself, "Mom, why was I so slow?"

"Um," a faint sound could be heard in the distance. Hurrying her steps to avoid arousing suspicion, she placed the poster first and then the photos on top, making sure everything was properly arranged. She closed the box and stored it back in its compartment, using a spell to make the key disappear.

Looking around, she realized that she hadn't stored something equally important as the poster, and that was the red ribbon. It was on her bed, next to her pillow. She must have slept with it.

In a quick move, she hid it in a pocket of her pajamas, making sure no one saw it. She walked over to the partition of their beds and saw the two girls getting up.

"Hanna, Barbara, I'll take a shower first, and then I'll head straight to the dining area for breakfast. I'll be waiting for you at our usual table," she said as she pulled out a change of clothes from the closet.

"Alright, Diana," she heard the sleepy response.

She entered the bathroom and took a shower. Afterward, she dressed in her uniform and prepared herself to present as any Cavendish should. when she was about to leave the bathroom, she remembered the ribbon. She checked her pajamas and found it. To avoid losing or forgetting it, she had an idea.

She tied it around her right wrist.

After leaving, she recited two spells, one to make her bed and the other to fold her pajamas and leave them in place. After seeing that everything was done, she spoke.

"See you later, girls," she said, unconsciously stroking the red ribbon.
