zachycards: I have decided to make a decision to skip episode 5 of season 1 and just move on to episode 6. It is just my preference to do so. And also, because I see it as an episode that really doesn't add anything to the story that I intend to type. Sorry in advance, but it is my personal preference. And, I figured, that for this particular chapter, that I would throw out a little nod of sorts, to another one of my favorite animes of all time, Fullmetal Alchemist. Anyway, here is the disclaimer, I do not own A Certain Scientific Railgun, or any of the other animes associated with it, in any way, any shape, or any form. I do not own anything in this story, in any way, any shape, or any form, except my oc self insert. I am not making money off of this, in any way, in any shape, or in any form. I also do not own the rights to A Certain Scientific Railgun, or any animes associated with it, in any way, in any shape, or in any form. A Certain Scientific Railgun does belong to, and it will always belong to Kazuma Kamachi and Motoi Fuyukawa. So, now that the disclaimer is out of the way, let us now move on to the 5th chapter.
Chapter 5: A New Appreciation For Judgment Officers
I really had a newfound appreciation to Kuroko's and Uiharu's jobs of being a Judgment officer, and I was sure that Misaka was feeling the same as well. That was one of the thoughts that went my mind as we both sat soaking wet, in a fountain, with Misaka holding onto a little girl's bag, that the both of us had mistaken for a bomb. But again, I am getting ahead of myself, let us wind this all back to how this all started in the first place.
I don't care if I hadn't finished watching anything past the first three episodes of the anime before winding up here, this was currently turning out to be pretty darn good. Well, unfortunately for me, I would wind up learning of the law of equivalent exchange. One can not gain anything without first giving something in return, and in order to do so, something of equal value must be lost. At least, that was how I had heard it said as it was said to me later on, darn, I knew I should've watched Fullmetal Alchemist before winding up here, then that quote would've actually made more sense to me when it was said. This would wind up being proven very much to be the case for me, but that would come into play much later on. And in terms of the loss of equal value that I would have to wind up giving up, in exchange for winding up here, and gaining all of this, although it was equal, was going to wind up being pretty darn steep. Anyway, it was while the four of us were in the restaurant, that Kuroko took Uiharu out of the place, so that they could go and do their jobs as Judgment officers, however, Uiharu had forgotten to take her Judgment armband with her. Misaka, took it off the table and started out the door of the restaurant in an effort to try and give it back to her, but as I turned to follow her, I noticed something on the table, a Judgment armband was sitting on the table, right in the exact spot where Misaka had picked it up before taking it out with her, "that's strange, didn't Misaka already take that out with her?" I thought to myself, as I picked up the Judgment armband. I then figured, that rather then dwell on how exactly it had gotten there, to just put it in my skirt pocket, and just follow Misaka out the door of the restaurant. However, it would not become clear to me until way into the future, that that armband had been placed there by someone, or something, for a very good reason.
Alright, I'll just go right ahead and say it, this was boring and it sucked. And I am sure that Misaka wasn't fairing any better with regards to this. After I had told Misaka about the armband, which she just passed off as some sort of coincidence, for what reason I don't know. And after a bit of a mix up, in which a girl by the name of Konori mistook both Misaka and I for her backup, we both thought we would be doing some pretty amazing things when it came to being Judgment officers. Little did we realize that this was not the case, as the three of us were now outside of a shop, with brooms, sweeping up trash. Seriously, this just sucked.
Well, here we are, almost all caught up again. And to tell you the truth, it isn't any less embarrassing. This was due to tye fact that the little girl's bag, that Misaka and I were trying so hard to get from the dog. We were both convinced that it was linked to a series of recent bombing incidents that been happening. But as we both dove above the water in the fountain, both in a desperate attempt to stop the bag from hitting the water, and succeeding. Unfortunately, this didn't change both of us winding up soaking wet. And as we both sat there in the fountain, soaking wet, and Misaka and I holding onto the little girl's bag, we now both had a new appreciation of Kuroko's and Uiharu's jobs as Judgment officers.
