Hollow Wings
"Speech" "Thought" "Writing"
Thorn was in her favorite tent doing some paperwork on some recent problems in the sand kingdom, when she was interrupted by six-claws.
"Your majesty" he said, Thorn had an annoyed expression on her face after he said that. "Six-claws, how many times do I have to tell you this, just call me Thorn you moon licker!" she retorted. "My apologies your ma- Thorn" six claws said almost slipping up and saying your majesty again. "But we have found something that you might want to take a look at." Six-claws said.
"PLEASE take me there! Anything but doing this moons cursed paperwork would be awesome right now." Thorn said with a laugh. "Okay, follow me."

A couple of minutes later…

"Here we are Thorn." Said Six-claws, arriving at the oasis a bit west of the palace. "This is where we found it." "Found what?" Thorn said. "Is it something dangerous? If it is, then why haven't you done anything about it already?" Six-claws look a bit sad after Thorn said that. "We tried, but it managed to severely wound us and cause several soldiers to nearly die. It is very skilled with the weapon it uses." Thorn looked around and saw about a dozen soldiers on stretchers groaning in pain with bandages all over them with the medics tending for them. "Wow, this thing must be strong if it was able to do all this" Thorn said. Six-claws chuckled at that. "You have no idea, it nearly cut off my tail barb and one of my wings." Thorn's eyes widened at that. "SERIOUSLY?! You're my best general and it nearly killed you?!" "Yup." said Six-claws. Thorn started to think of ways to go into the shack without getting a sword through her chest. "Have you tried reasoning with it?" Thorn asked. "Sunny taught me that reasoning works a whole lot more then dragons think it does." Six-claws look a bit confused at that. "Why would we try to reason with it? It tried to kill us." Six-claws said. "Well, maybe, just maybe." Thorn said in a sarcastic tone. "It was defending itself; it probably saw you as a threat and attacked you because it thought you were going to attack it." Six-claws looked at Thorn for a couple seconds, then started laughing. "Seriously, you should have become a lawyer and not a queen." He said. "But we didn't even have any weapons on us, so why would it assume we were going to attack it?" he retaliated. Thorn looked at Six-claw like he had just said that two plus two is five. "Were DRAGONS, we have CLAWS, you of all dragons should know that. Plus, we have sharp tail barbs, from its point of view, you were probably a walking weapon." Six-claws opened his mouth to argue, but nothing came out. "You…you have a point there…" he said weakly. "I know I do." Thorn said with her innocent face on. "So, what is this thing anyway? If it managed to nearly kill several of you, then it must be something strong, like another dragon." Six-claws looked at Thorn with a sudden serious face on. "Promise you won't send me to the mental asylum if I tell you this, ok?" He said with a serious tone to match his serious face. "Ok, I promise." Thorn said. Six-claws took a deep breath, grabbed onto Thorn's shoulder, and told her the craziest thing she had ever heard.

"It was a scavenger."

Thorn sat there dumbfounded by the news. "I'm sorry, a WHAT?! A SCAVENGER, the LOWEST FORM OF PREY, DID THIS TO ALL OF YOU?!" "He's telling the truth; I saw it too." One of the wounded soldiers said. "Same here, but it wasn't a normal scavenger, it… was about the same size as us, and was wearing a weird looking helmet." Thorn couldn't believe what she was hearing. "A scavenger the size of a dragon?! That…That's impossible!" Thorn said. "If you don't believe us, go in there for yourself." Another soldier replied. Thorn decided that going in was the only thing she could really do right now, so she went into the cabin.

The cabin was dark as there were no torches lit, but her eyes quickly adjusted to the dark, and she saw what everyone was talking about. Sitting on the bed was a scavenger, but everyone was right as it was dragon sized. "Wow, this… this is actually kind of scary." Thorn thought.
As though the creature heard her think, it whipped around with its blade drawn, ready to attack. "Hello." Thorn said. "Please don't attack me, I'm not going to fight you…" Thorn was slowly getting closer to the scavenger, in hopes of being able to reason with it. But that hope was quickly shattered, as it charged at her with its blade pointed directly at her chest.

"WOAH!" Thorn exclaimed in surprise. "Dang, its fast." she thought, as she dodged the attack by a hair. "Alright, so that's how your gonna play." Thorn said as she stared it down. While it was staggered by her expert doge that it clearly wasn't prepared for, she breathed fire at it. At first, she thought she hit him, but when she stopped breathing fire, she saw it was gone. "Where is that creepy thi-" she started to say, but she suddenly felt a sharp pain in one of her hind legs. She roared in agony as the sharp pain ran all throughout her body. She saw the weird thing coming right at her, blade pointed straight at her head. But this time, she had time to react and swung her tail at it and she landed a hit on its head fair and true. She looked at the thing as it just stood there in bewilderment that it was struck. It looked at Thorn for a second before bowing to her and falling over. The door of the cabin suddenly burst open with Six-claws in the doorframe. "THORN!" he yelled." ARE YOU OK?! ARE YOU WOUNDED?! ARE YOU-" "Yes Six-claws, I'm fine." Thorn said. "But let's bring this thing in for questioning."
