"Well, this is worrisome." Quirrel said. Sitting in the corner of the cell. "Indeed, it is." Said Hornet. Tapping her feet on the ground. "There must be a way out of here." "Well, until we do find a way out." Quirrel started. "How about we tell some stories to pass the time?" Hornet looked at Quirrel like he had a booger on his face but hadn't noticed yet. "What? There's nothing else better to do." He said in a "as a matter of fact" tone. "Actually, I have another idea." Hornet said. "You know how Ghost can't talk? I was thinking about teaching him some way of communication." She said. "While that is a good idea..." Quirrel started. "We have no form of communication TO teach him." He finished. "Actually, I do have a form of communication to teach him." Hornet said. "And what would that be?" Quirrel asked. "I have memorized a thing called Morse code. It is where you communicate through a series of timed taps, and those taps translate to letters, and those letters form words." Hornet finished.
Quirrel looked surprised as he looked at Hornet. "I've… never heard of that before…" He said. "Which is very rare…" "I know, I know, as Monomon's assistant you get jealous over not knowing something." Hornet teased. "Hey! I'm not jealous! I'm just not used to people knowing stuff I don't!" Quirrel said while Hornet was laughing. "Alright, lights out!" One of the guards yelled. Suddenly, every bit of light disappeared until it was almost pitch black. "Well, we better get some sleep." Hornet said while yawning. "Yeah, you're right, I didn't know how tired I was until it went dark, good night, Hornet and Ghost." Quirrel said. "Good night." Hornet responded. Ghost too quickly fell into slumber.
"OK! Everybody up!" One of the guards yelled. "Breakfast is ready!"
All the prisoners woke up with anger in their voices. Some of them were complaining about not getting enough sleep. Breakfast was put on a plate and pushed into their cell with a big stick. Quirrel took a bite of the food and then spit it out immediately. "QUIRREL! Are you ok?!" Hornet asked in a panicked tone. "Yeah, I'm fine." Said Quirrel. "But the food tastes more like flukemarm flesh then anything." Hornet took a sigh of relief as she sat back down on the big stone rectangle that was supposed to be a bed. "Don't do that again, I thought you were going to die!" Hornet yelled. Quirrel started laughing as Hornet said that. "Thanks for caring if I live or die." He said. "Oh, shut up Quirrel. Anyways, Ghost, are you ready for your first morse code lesson?" Hornet said. Ghost nodded, as he desperately needed a way to communicate with the others.
"Ok, we will start with the most important one of all, SOS." Hornet said. "It translates to save our souls, and you day it like this" Ghost watched as Hornet taped her hand against the wall in a pattern.
*Tap Tap Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap Tap Tap*
"Tapping or making noise in that pattern will let us know your in danger." Hornet said. "Now we will get started with the rest of the morse code alphabet…"
THREE HOURS LATER…
"Great. Now you know the morse code alphabet." Hornet said, looking a bit happy. (Which was extremely rare). "Now we can communicate without speaking." Ghost was incredibly happy himself, as he could finally communicate with the others. "So little Ghost, is there anything you want to say to us?" Hornet asked sounding a bit hopeful.
Hello Hornet. Ghost said using morse code. Hello Quirrel. Hornet looked like she was about to burst with happiness. And Quirrel looked like he was about to start crying. "That's so cute!" Hornet said with a face so happy, it hardly looked like Hornet at all. Hornet bent down and picked up Ghost and hugged him. "Quirrel, get in on this too!" Hornet said. Quirrel sighed and got up from the bed and hugged Ghost as well.
Suddenly, a loud cry was heard from outside the walls.
A loud and familiar cry.
Ghost immediately jumped out of Hornet's arms and bent the bars to the cell just enough to squeeze through. "Wait, you could do that the whole time?!" Hornet asked, but Ghost was running as fast as he can. "It can't be, I seriously can' be." Ghost thought. But when Ghost found the source of the screeching, he realized that it was.
The hollow knight was here.
And it was killing all the scaly things in sight.
Author's note: FINNALLY DONE WITH THIS CHAPTER! Sorry it took so long but this chapter was so filler, that I couldn't even make a full sentence when I tried to write it. But now that the filler chapters are almost gone, I have a lot more motivation to write this story!
P.S. I FINNALLY BEAT HOLLOW KNIGHT STEEL SOUL! Now all I have to do are the speedrun challenges and get the speed completion achievement.
