PROLOGUE part 2: Northern California-Present Day (65 Million Years Later)
(Cue "Prologue" music by Michael Giacchino for a third time)
The old full moon shone brightly in the cloudy night sky.
Stars sparked from behind the dark clouds.
The air was suddenly filled by the sound of an approaching aircraft.
The moon was then blocked from view by a big helicopter.
This was a United States Fish & Wildlife Service helicopter. It was used to track down animals that were causing trouble.
And down below the aircraft, there was an animal that this helicopter was tracking.
Deep in the dark forest where thousands of pine trees were growing, a huge animal was running for its life.
A Tyrannosaurus Rex.
A 34 year-old female Tyrannosaurus Rex named Rexy was fleeing from rangers high above in the sky. She was very old and had many battle scars from fighting other dinosaurs. She had lived on two islands off the coast of Costa Rica called Isla Sorna and Isla Nublar. She spent her entire life living in two amusement parks called Jurassic Park and Jurassic World. And then just a couple years ago she was taken from her peaceful home and brought to an unfamiliar world she had trouble living in. When she found a nice place to live in at several states of North America, she thought she could at last have some peace and quiet for the rest of her remaining life. But she was wrong. These men in their helicopter were trying to capture this scared dinosaur.
They had been tracking this T-Rex for three years!
Previous attempts to catch her in the past has always failed.
This time, the United States Fish & Wildlife Service was determined to finally stop this predator from roaming around the country. This T-Rex has killed multiple people and animals for the past couple years.
Rexy ran faster through the thick foliage, panic in control of her own body.
High above, the helicopter had a light focused on the rampaging tyrannosaur. These men did not want to lose this dinosaur. They had been chasing her for too long.
"I got eyes on the animal." said the pilot of the aircraft. His two partners nodded, holding tranquilizer guns in their hands. These weapons were going to used to tranquillize the T-Rex so they could take her away safely.
Down below, Rexy ran faster. She looked up at the sky and saw that her pursuers were gaining. She roared in fear and stomped faster, hoping to find a place to escape.
A mile away from this chase, there was a quiet and busy drive-in movie theater right in the middle of the forest. More than 50 people were there to see a showing of an American classic American Graffiti, a film directed by George Lucas, who was the creator of StarWars.
An old animated musical advertisement was playing in front of the big drive-in theater screen. It was (Technicolor Refreshment Trailer No.1) also known as "Let's All Go To The Lobby" because it was named after its one minute song. This advertisement was used to urge its audience to get some snacks and drinks before the movie started.
There were four animated characters singing in front of the theater screen. A bucket of popcorn, a candy bar, a drink and another candy bar.
"Let's all go to the lobby, let's all go to the lobby," they sang.
Most people were listening to this short advertisement and were getting themselves a treat. While other people stayed in their cars waiting for the movie to start.
One boy named Trevor Gates had just gotten two small popcorn bowls and two small drinks for himself and his mother who was waiting for him in her car.
He was just singing the advertisement song while walking through the parking lot, when a woman ran past him screaming.
The boy jumped in surprise, not knowing why this woman was running and screaming.
But then several other people ran past him also screaming. Some teenagers bumped into Trevor knocking over the snacks and drinks he was carrying.
"Hey!" he complained. But when one man charged through the parking screaming, "RUN! RUN!! RUN!!!", Trevor started to wonder why some people were in a panic. Was there a bear nearby? Or a moose?
The ground trembled beneath his feet and loud BOOMs were echoing from the forest. It sounded like something BIG was coming out of the trees.
And then Trevor and more people saw it.
A dinosaur.
A big dinosaur was stomping out of the woods.
A Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Trevor dropped the rest of the goodies he was carrying. He had never seen a real live dinosaur before. Let alone a mighty T-Rex.
People behind the boy screamed in terror and ran for their lives. But Trevor stood where he stood frozen in fear. This T-Rex was a predator and ate meat. So it could be here looking for a snack.
Rexy looked down at the child. She growled. Not in aggression, but in curiosity.
Trevor watched in amazement as the carnivorous dinosaur walked past him.
The T-Rex sniffed the air and looked around the drive-in theater.
People were running across the parking lot screaming at the top of their lungs. They wanted to get as far away from this huge T-Rex as they could.
Rexy growled in confusion. She didn't know what was going on or why there was so much loud noises.
She decided to explore this new area. And that sent a lot more panic to the crowd of people.
Some people had to dodge the dinosaur's big stomping feet to avoid getting stepped on. A few people weren't so lucky. Some people ducked for cover underneath vehicles. Two teenage girls who had never seen a dinosaur before or even heard of one screamed loudly.
The loud stomping and screaming made the still-playing advertisement song seem like a whisper.
Rexy growled at every person she passed.
Inside one car, there was a couple sitting in their seats kissing each other passionately, unaware that a big dinosaur had just walked by.
More people ran out of the parking lot. Others got in their cars and locked the doors. Rexy wandered around still confused about what was going on.
Close by, the boy Trevor made it to his mom's car and got inside.
"Trevor, where's our snacks?" his mother asked. "I thought you went to get us some food."
"I can't now, mom. There's a BIG dinosaur outside." Trevor told her.
His mom gave him a stern look.
"Now, now, Trevor, don't play games with me-" she began, but then her son grabbed her hand and pointed out the window yelling, "But mom, LOOK!"
Trevor's mother sighed and looked just in time to see a huge Tyrannosaurus Rex walk right next to her car. Her eyes and mouth both opened wide.
"See, mom? There's a dinosaur outside." said Trevor, pointing.
His mom turned back to her son and whispered, "Trevor, lock the doors, let's get out of here, and just watch a movie at home, okay?"
"Oh. Okay, mom. Yes, ma'am." Trevor whispered back. He obeyed his mother and did what he was told. Then Trevor's mom started the engine.
Rexy watched as the car drove out of the parking lot. She bellowed as it zoomed away. There were still people scattered across the drive-in theater. Several men and women were run over by vehicles that we're trying to exit the parking lot. One man lost control of his car and accidentally rammed into the drive-in food stand.
At the filming station, the movie camera started glitching and emitted sparks because of Rexy's ground-trembling footsteps. The crew members tried to fix it, but they almost got their hands burned. And then the theater screen went black because the film tape inside the filming station was ruined.
Rexy stomped over to the front of the drive-in theater, but not before flipping over cars with her feet. People inside screamed in horror as they were flipped upside down. Window glass shattered and more people got stomped on. Some braver people had the courage to pull out their phones to take pictures and videos of this event.
Rexy the T-Rex stood right in front of the now blank theater screen, watched as more people fled from the scene, and gave a mighty roar.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAR!!!!
(Cue "Prologue" music by Michael Giacchino for a forth time)
The dinosaur stopped roaring when a big flash of light shined in her yellow eyes. She was blinded for a few seconds and then she bellowed in fear when she saw that the United States Fish & Wildlife Service helicopter had found her again.
One red-haired man inside the aircraft pointed his tranquilizer gun at the scared T-Rex.
"Keep it steady!" he called to the pilot, and he fired at Rexy below.
But she saw that coming and dodged the tranquilizer dart.
It hit the windshield of one of the cars instead. That scared an elderly couple inside the vehicle.
Rexy stomped away from all the chaos that was going on both on the ground and in the air. She watched cars drive away from this incident. Other people just ran for their lives. The frightened old Tyrannosaurus Rex looked up to see the helicopter still tracking her movements, so she quickly darted back into the safety of the forest.
But not before leaving a giant footprint on the muddy ground.
High above, the United States Fish & Wildlife Service helicopter shined its light everywhere on the grounds, but it completely lost track of the T-Rex...again!
"Damn, I don't see it!" said the man who failed to catch the dinosaur. "Do you see it?" he asked his companions.
They shook their heads in frustration.
"Settle down, kid." said the pilot of the helicopter. "She can't run forever."
And the helicopter sped off into the night, leaving the crime scene of the drive-in movie theater down below.
The full moon shone brighter in the dark night sky.

Miles away from the wrecked drive-in, Rex walked out of the foliage of the woods, and stumbled upon a highway.
Cars, trucks, and other vehicles of all kinds were driving down the two lanes. Nobody saw the incoming dinosaur. They should have.
Rexy growled and attempted to cross this road. She bellowed down at the vehicles all around her. Finally the people in their seats saw the approaching T-Rex and panicked. Way too late.
Rexy watched as two cars tried to avoid her legs and tail. Breaks screeched, tires spun out of control, and the vehicles accidentally crashed into each other!
Rexy jumped away from the collision. A woman screamed as the impact of the car crash ejected her out of her convertible car. She landed painfully on the paved road. At the hungry T-Rex's feet.
The woman screamed again and tried to crawl away from the big predator. Rexy growled at the helpless person on the ground.
"No, no, no, no, no! Please, no!" the injured lady cried, as the carnivore moved closer.
The woman never stood a chance.
With a swift dive, Rexy chomped viciously on the poor human. Blood splattered and bones snapped as the woman screamed in pain and agony.

Rexy shook her dead prey in her bloody jaws and swallowed her meal whole.
Then the Queen Of The Dinosaurs stomped down the road around the the other cars that weren't involved in the accident. She ignored the honks and beeps below. Behind her, two police cars and an ambulance arrived to investigate and to check for any survivors. Only a couple people were still alive.
Down the highway, Rexy continued her long journey through this new world she was in. She passed a road sign that had a warning which said "T-REX ZONE: THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF SIGHTINGS OF A HUGE DINOSAUR ROAMING AROUND THE COUNTRY. SHE'S VERY DANGEROUS & HAS KILLED 8 LIVES. IF YOU SEE THIS TYRANNOSAURUS REX IN YOUR AREA, GET INSIDE AND CONTACT UNITED STATES FISH & WILDLIFE SERVICE IMMEDIATELY!"
The rampaging Tyrannosaurus Rex let out a mighty roar.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAR!!!!
