CHAPTER 1 part 1: Bering Sea (80 Miles West Of Alaska)
Rain roughly fell down from the dark gray clouds.
Seagulls flew overhead, squawking to each other, looking for food.
Waves rose several feet high and fell back down to the surface of the water.
Far off in the ocean, a big fishing vessel called the Saga was getting ready for work.
This fishing boat was out in the raging stormy weather to catch crabs.
The few men on this ship did this harsh and dangerous job for a living. To earn money so they can take care of themselves and their families.
Two men worked together to dump one of their big and heavy crab cages into the salty water.
The surface splashed as the crab cage broke through into the depths of the sea. The cage sank deep down to the very bottom of the ocean. It landed with a thud on the rocky ocean floor. Small fish swam around the metal cage. But then the fish quickly swam away as a much larger animal swam above the crab cage.
(Cue ominous music)
The 120 foot-long unknown predator growled as she circled the empty crab cage.
Moments later, the men on the Saga used their crane to pull the crab cage out of the water. They cheered when they saw a lot of crustaceans crammed inside the dripping and wet cage.
"Ha ha! Great catch!" one man told his partner, patting him on the back.
"Expecting big cash!" said his partner chuckling about their lucky day. Until it was taken away in just a couple minutes...
The water splashed and erupted as a humongous marine reptile leapt out of the ocean and grabbed the cage with its crocodile-like jaws with a loud roar!
It was a Mosasaurus. The largest animal in the whole ocean: even bigger than the T-Rex! It's name meaning "Meuse Lizard."
Unlike the dinosaurs who lay eggs, the mosasaur gave birth to live offspring. The marine reptile was thought to have hunted near the surface of the water, where it preyed on anything it could sink its teeth into, including turtles, large fish, seabirds, plesiosaurs, even small mosasaurs, and its favorite food: Sharks!
The Mosasaurus used to live in the Jurassic World Lagoon of Isla Nublar, but after living at the Costa Rican Island for 5 years, the humongous creature somehow escaped from the abandoned theme park and dived into the oceans of the planet Earth.
The cloned animal retains many features of its original counterpart. It also has a bite force of 13k, pound higher than the terrestrial land predator, Tyrannosaurus Rex, that lived in the same period as the Mosasaurus. The Mosasaurus also had a frill running down its back and lacked the forked tongue as well as lacked a large tail fluke. The color on the prehistoric animal are mostly grayish-blue with a creamy underbelly.
The crew onboard their vessel screamed as their boat rocked violently causing huge waves to sweep the deck. They failed to keep their balance and were knocked off their feet.
The Mosasaurus growled as she began to drag the fishing vessel down.
Crab cages fell in the water and the Saga's crew screamed as the humongous marine reptile flipped the whole ship upside down with a tremendous splash.
Most of the crew drowned underneath the overturned ship. But one crew member jumped out of the boat before it was flipped over. The man gasped for air as he struggled to stay afloat in the freezing ocean. He started swimming towards some debris of the fishing vessel. He never made it...
After eating all the crabs inside the crab cage underwater, the Mosasaurus swam underneath the one survivor, not wanting to miss another snack. She growled with hunger and opened her jaws wide beneath the man's legs.
The man screamed with pain as he was pulled into the water. He didn't come back up.
Blood rose to the surface. The Mosasaurus growled again, pleased about having its next meal, and dove back into the depths of the Bering Sea, its long tail splashing the water.
GRRRRRRRRRRRR...
