As Mr. Small talked about the young human who arrived in Dillydale a few days ago with no memory, Mr. Nosy found his gaze moving over to Scarlet. He was shocked to see her swaying on her feet, and worry for her pierced his heart. Then he remembered that she said she was tired and needed to rest, which was the whole reason they came to the park in the first place.

But as he watched he noticed black smoke circling Scarlet before it entered her body through her mouth and nose. This confused him, and all he could do was stare at her as the human straightened up and looked around with a pleased look on her face.

Mr. Nosy tore his gaze away from the girl to see that everyone was all focused on Mr. Small, completely unaware of what just happened.

Making sure nobody was watching, he slipped past his best friend and stood beside the human. He looked at her curiously. "Are you okay?" he whispered, which made her jump and turn to him with wide eyes. Suddenly he realized what must be happening. She has to be a different personality now! Scarlet is the only person he's met with this disorder which means he's never actually seen someone change between personalities before, so he figured what just happened must be a normal occurrence.

The girl's eyes flashed with what seemed to be annoyance, but when she opened her mouth to reply, her voice was calm. "I couldn't be better," she told him. As she looked around, she smiled and added something, but she spoke so quietly that he didn't hear what she said.

He started to wonder what personality this could be and why they were acting like this. He knew he had to find a way of telling Mr. Small that Scarlet had changed personalities without any of their friends discovering how special the young girl really was.

Then he noticed that Mr. Rude had stepped out of the crowd and was heading toward the human; Mr. Nosy watched nervously, hoping he wouldn't realize how different Scarlet was acting now. The red Mr. Man crossed his arms when he stood in front of her. "Do you really expect us to believe that you can't remember a single thing from your past?" he huffed.

The personality that was controlling Scarlet's body looked Mr. Rude right in the eyes without flinching. "I have no reason to lie to you," she replied calmly. "I just met you."

That's a weird thing to say, Mr. Nosy thought, frowning. Did he just imagine the black smoke and the way Scarlet was acting? No, I know what I saw! he argued with himself. He knew there was no way that this was the girl they met a few days ago who couldn't remember anything. But he wondered why whoever was running her body was pretending to be her.

Realizing that everyone was distracted, Mr. Nosy returned to his best friend, noticing that Mr. Small was staring at the human curiously. "I don't think that's Scarlet," he whispered to his buddy, bending down so none of the others could hear him.

"You could be right," Mr. Small replied thoughtfully. "Perhaps we should get her away from our friends so we can check?" He looked at Mr. Nosy, his eyes shining with uneasiness. "But," he added slowly," if she is to stay here for any longer, they have the right to know about her disorder. We can tell them later though."

With a nod, Mr. Nosy straightened up, and then watched Mr. Small walk over to Scarlet; the small Mr. Man stepped in between her and Mr. Rude. "I'm sorry, Mr. Rude," he began as he looked up at his red friend," but we actually came to the park to get Scarlet off her feet, so if you'd please excuse us…?" As he spoke, his gaze scanned over the rest of the crowd, directing the question at them as well as Mr. Rude.

Almost immediately most of them nodded and walked away. The only ones that remained with the human and best friends were Mr. Rude, Mr. Persnickety, and Mr. Messy. For a few more heartbeats, Mr. Rude stared at Scarlet, but he must have realized that she wasn't going to back down because he snorted and stormed off.

Mr. Nosy looked anxiously at Mr. Persnickety and Mr. Messy, and wondered if they were going to leave as well, but they didn't move.

"Thank you for walking with us," Mr. Small said, turning to them," but I think we can take it from here." He was obviously choosing his words carefully like he didn't want them to know anything was going on, but he had an uneasy look on his face as he tipped his hat to them. "We will see you later. Okay?"

At first Mr. Nosy thought they were going to argue and insist on staying, but finally Mr. Persnickety nodded and murmured," Very well." Then he and Mr. Messy turned to walk off, soon disappearing from sight.

Once they were alone, Mr. Nosy let out a sigh of relief. "That was a close one!"

Mr. Small turned to the red haired human without replying to his best friend. "Everyone is gone now, so it's safe for you to tell us who you are," he said to the personality.

She blinked, confusion appearing on her face. "What do you mean?" she asked. "I'm Scarlet of course."

The two Mr. Men exchanged glances before turning back to her. "No," Mr. Nosy said with a shake of his head. "I saw the black smoke before you came out so I'm pretty sure you're not Scarlet."

Mr. Small glanced at his friend with surprise. "Black smoke?" he asked, confused.

Amusement suddenly flashed in her eyes. "Pretty sure, huh?" A nasty smile crossed her face. "Well, all you two need to know is that I'm Scarlet now." She took a step toward them and eyed the Mr. Men closely. "Do you understand, Mr. Small? Mr. Nosy?" She looked at both of them in turn as she said their names.

"H-How do you know our names?" Mr. Nosy stuttered, moving away from the human when he suddenly felt frightened by whoever was controlling Scarlet's body.

The personality let out a chuckle. "Oh, I know more about this town than you would think," she explained, glancing around. "I've done my research."

"What does that mean?" The fear was clear in Mr. Small's voice.

The human waved her hand dismissively. "You don't need to worry about that."

"Can you please tell us your name?" Mr. Nosy pleaded.

Mr. Nosy thought they weren't going to answer at first, but then the personality crossed their arms and replied," Up until now, I went by the name Tyler." Then he glared at them and unfolded his arms. "But you can call me Scarlet now, since I'm going to be in control of this body while its still alive." A wicked grin formed on his face as he added," Though that might not be for very long."

The two Mr. Men stepped away from the human, realizing how dangerous he was. "We won't call you Scarlet," Mr. Small said, though he sounded uncomfortable and very nervous about standing up to this Tyler, whoever he was. "What have you done with her?" he asked.

Tyler rolled his eyes. "Why do you care?" he demanded. "You only met her a few days ago. I bet you don't know anything about her besides her name and that she has other personalities. Right?"

"That doesn't matter," Mr. Small insisted. "She is our friend regardless of what we may or may not know about her." Suddenly he walked closer to the human. "Why have you taken over her body?"

"That is none of your business." Tyler turned his back on them and stared out across the park. "That is between me and her, not a couple of Mr. Men who need to learn to stay out of other people's business." As he spoke those words, there seemed to be a warning in his voice, and Mr. Nosy noticed that his fingers on both hands curled into fists. Then he seemed to relax and added," Now I have something to do." He tried to walk off, but Mr. Small ran in front of him.

"Hold it right there!" He held his hands up as if to stop the personality from leaving. "We aren't just going to let you leave with Scarlet's body!"

Pushing down the fear this personality was giving him, Mr. Nosy dashed to his friend's side, forcing himself not to flinch when Tyler's eyes flashed with anger and hate.

Tyler glared down at the small Mr. Man. "You can't stop me." The second he was done talking, the human lifted his hand, and as it started glowing yellow, he moved it to one side; Mr. Nosy watched in horror as his best friend started to float in the air and then was sent flying sideways, only stopping when he collided with a lamppost. Then Tyler turned his glare on Mr. Nosy. "Are you going to try to stop me as well?"

Mr. Nosy moved out of his way, fear running through him. He watched as Tyler stormed off until he remembered that his friend could be hurt. He ran over to Mr. Small, who laid on the ground in a daze. "A-Are you okay, Mr. Small?" he stammered as he gently picked up his little buddy.

Mr. Small groaned and rubbed his head. "I-I think so." Then suddenly he pushed Mr. Nosy away and landed on the ground on his rear. He stumbled to his feet, the pain he had clearly been feeling forgotten as he looked around. "We need to stop him before he does something awful!" he exclaimed as he turned back to Mr. Nosy, his eyes frantic.

"But how?" Mr. Nosy asked, frowning down at his friend. "He apparently has some kind of magic or something…" He got on his knees to look Mr. Small face to face. "And he clearly doesn't care what happens to us," he added, wrapping his arms around his friend. "You could have gotten seriously hurt."

To his surprise, Mr. Small pushed him away. "But I'm not seriously hurt!" he insisted, determination in his eyes. "We have to stop him from doing whatever he has planned!" He hesitated and then added," Not for us, but for Scarlet."

He's right, Mr. Nosy admitted to himself reluctantly. "Okay," he finally agreed as he got to his feet again. "But do you have an idea how to stop him?" he asked.

"Well… not yet…" Mr. Small sighed. Then he continued: "But I don't think we can take him on by ourselves."

Mr. Nosy stared down at his friend. "What do you mean?" he asked. "Who are you thinking about asking to help us?"

For several long moments their eyes met and then finally, Mr. Small answered," We need to ask our friends to help, which means revealing everything we know about Scarlet."
